    Hi, I watched a few videos and I think they mean the whole leaf. (Single leaf cutting, not cutting the leaf into pieces.)

      I've gotten it to work with other types of begonias in dirt.
      You might be right in that I'm cutting pieces too small and more of a leaf would give better results.
      Stems with a node has been the easiest for me. I'm about a 95% success rate just sticking them in dirt.

    I'm absolutely going to try this!!! Thank you for trying out the cutting experiment so I didn't have to!😊

    Awesome!! This was a life saver. I'm hopeful now to save mine that has lost most of its leaves 😂

      Just cut up the vines and stick in dirt. One node per cutting has worked best for me.

    Also have you seen any growth at all from the leaf cuttings? I've seen lots doing that but just snapping the main vein in the leaf and setting it in soil. They've sprouted several leaves from those veins!

      Mostly no. I'm probably not doing something correctly because I know it should work.
      I did get one leaf (full leaf with a partial stem, no node) that has sprung a few roots. The rest are starting to get mushy.
      I did get a Rex begonia leaf to grow some roots as well (no video on that yet) by sticking it in dirt and providing regular water.

      @@vibonitatropics interesting! I might sacrifice a leaf just to try for myself haha. Thanks for reply

      @@melaniejaegli3056 it has never worked with my cane begonias, only with my rex begonias. I heard that cane begonias dont have the same success rate with leaf cuttings, sometimes they root but will never grow a new plant unlike rex begonias.

    Thank You. Mine is about 6.5 ft. And with the pot it is now 2 inches from touching the ceiling. If I let it continue will it bend by it self and keep growing downward?

    • @vibonitatropics
      @vibonitatropics  4 месяца назад +1

      Yes. I often have one that grows in full sun and the vines get 12-14 feet long. The go up to about 6-7 feet and eventually start growing back down.
