Aladdin and Jasmine are definitely not siblings. As you can see in the live action version, the scene where jasmine was at Aladdin’s house playing his traditional middle eastern guitar, Aladdin told her that his mother taught him to play the instrument. Which means that Aladdin had already recognised his mother before she passed away. If lets say, Aladdin and Jasmine were born from the same mother, then Aladdin would obviously be a rich kid who lives in a palace, as his mother is the princess of Sherabad’s Kingdom. In that way, he wouldn’t end up being a street rat.
@American Born In that case, wouldn’t Aladdin have recognized the sultan too? If the queen was the mother, he should be able to remember his father..didn’t seem like it.

No she's not. She looks absolutely NOTHİNG like Jasmine and her personality is not matching to a Jasmine either.and it shows every seccond time you turn your head arround in the live action film. Reading through the replies to your comment i can't believe the lot of you agreeing are serious. 😭😭 True Jasmine's can make you think " jasmin" with out the cosplay outfit
Yes, they give her power and relevance in a very rational way. She is smart and kind, not willing to be silenced and. brave, but she is not a kick as mercenary (her life and education will not allow it) not did they degrade the males in the films. They are not all evil (Maleficient ) or all weak and coward ( Star Wars). Cleary you can have good male and female characters in the same movie (like WW)
I think she was always the independent, brave and strong kind. In the animation, she never wished for a prince but wanted to be free, live her life the way she wanted and not be constantly protected and kept hidden in the palace. In all honesty, I think she was the only Disney Princess who didn't wish for a Prince's attention/affection but prioritised carving a path for herself. Even though she fell in love, her dream was to always be free. I am sure Mulan counts as a strong character as well but I don't think she was part of the traditional "Disney Princess" category. Correct me if I am wrong. Though I must say, the live action has portrayed the depth of her strength quite well. Her character development was spot on. Giving her a song was even better.
They say Jafar didn't seem evil in the live action movie, but I feel he was a bit more "realistically evil and cunning" in this movie because we can't expect the same kind of crazy and dramatic Jafar in real life, can we?So, I think Jafar was on point in the new movie!
THEORY: What if young Jafar was just like Aladdin? IMAGINE THIS: Jafar is an orphaned street rat from the land of Shehrabad (the kingdom of Jasmine's mom) who steals things in order to live. He must've stolen the serpent staff from a sorcerer, probably Shehrabad's royal sorcerer, by breaking into Shehrabad's palace. Through this process, he must've seen Jasmine's mother who was then a princess, and had fallen in love with her. In relation to this, Jafar must've courted Jasmine's mother, but since there was a royal law (as mentioned multiple times in the original Aladdin animation) that the princess must marry a prince and no one else, the Sultan (the father of Jasmine's mother - basically Jasmine's grandfather) kicked Jafar out of the palace and sent him to jail for being a known street rat/thief, and for attempting to court Jasmine's mother. At that point, while Jafar was locked up in Shehrabad, Jasmine's mother was now being married to Jasmine's father, the sultan of Agrabah, in which they bore a child - and that is Jasmine. Jafar, who has now escaped Shehrabad's prison, plans to partake revenge. With his magical serpent staff that he stole, he then travels to Agrabah where Jasmine and her parents now reside. He then attempts to kill the sultan (Jasmine's father), but maybe due to circumstances (such as an accident, or Jafar realizing that it wasn't wise to kill the sultan just yet); he kills Jasmine's mother instead. Because of this, the kingdom of Shehrabad now distrusts the kingdom of Agrabah, since it is in Agrabah where Jasmine's mother (princess of Shehrabad), was murdered. Depressed, the sultan (Jasmine's father) then locks Jasmine inside the castle walls forever, as to protect her from whoever or whatever killed Jasmine's mother. Jafar, who had successfully killed Jasmine's mother, now pretends to be a royal sorcerer, in which the sultan hires him; unknowing that it was Jafar who killed his wife. Because of this, Jafar had since then became greedy and desperate for more power; plotting for his rise now that he was so close to being ruler of Agrabah. Not only that, as Jasmine grows older, he eventually sees Jasmine's mother in her, which is probably the reason why in the animated film, Jafar wants Jasmine to be his queen, and wishes to the genie to make Jasmine fall desperately in love with Jafar. --- This theory is only hand in hand with the details you have shared, +Flicks and the City, so thank you for this wonderful and informative video! 💜
I love that they have Jasmine’s character so much more development in the movie! She made sure to involve herself as the princess in the politics of her country and never failed to keep the best interests of her people at heart! She remembered her mother throughout and constantly gave herself a voice, especially with that AMAZING song - Naomi Scott’s acting in that scene was incredible and gave me acTUAL CHILLS. An incredibly empowering character and a true Disney role model. And they gave her mother more of a base rather than just being a dead character and indicating why her father was so intent on keep Jasmine protected inside the castle. And her outfits were GORGEOUS and filled with so much character and just shows how they made so many details clear and precise. LOVED IT ALL.❤️❤️

It was actually nice that they are starting to show both parents of the disney protagonist now. ...and I agree that Maybe Jafar is really the one who killed Jasmine's Mother because in that way, he could console the King, and it will be easier for him to be his adviser since there will be no Queen to do that. Overall, I enjoyed the new Aladdin movie, it is highly recommended.
What if Jasmine and Aladdin are brother and sisters, but Aladdin lost memories of being born into the kingdom of Agrabah due to being kidnapped as a baby and thrown in the streets? Maybe kidnapped by Jafar? (I had this theory before watching this video.)
It would defiinitely be interesting to see more of the villains as well - the live action films do indeed fill the blank space for missing parents, but as you metioned not as much for the villains. Imagine a Jafar movie 😍
Mena portraited Aladdin as a lovely, genuine guy who doesn't mean to hurt someone. Naomi was the perfect fierce form of Jasmine which I loved to see, it fits our time perfectly even though the story is so old (1992, damn!). I've seen Marwan before in Flikken Maastricht, so it was weird haha but I was so impressed to see him playing the role of Jafar so well! I love this movie just as much as I loved the animated version
Having seen the movie I think this theory is definitely plausible. Also I missed that moment where Jafar said he was in prison specifically in Sherabad, so that's interesting.
if you watch the animated show it also shows more of the mom's story. The mom was taken away from the sultan since she is one thing he loved the most. That same thing later tried coming for his "most prized jewel" turns out it was jasmine that was to be taken. Not any of his actual jewels

Jasmine used to be my second best Princess on the animated movies (Mulan is still #1), but now the live action humanized Jasmine in such an outstanding way, that she's now my #1 live action Disney Princess. Naomi Scott is FABULOUS!
I'm loving this new version. It definitely has its moments of honoring the original movie, but with a modern thread. Jasmine's new song is amazing, too.
Walt Disney felt responsible for the death of his own mother, so the movies have a no mothers policy? I never realized this until now. Really informative video.
Yes, however it's only theorised that it's the reason that many stories were developed with characters with missing mothers. It's never been officially stated that way. As I mentioned in the video, more recently Ron Clements suggested it had a bit more to do with the original fairy tales where the protagonists often have dead parents.
For their mothers to know the same song its probably because the queen loved hanging out with the commoners and sung the songs together. Hence why jasmine was locked in when her mother died. The scene shows Jasmine also share the same love for the people(like her mother) thats why aladin said that the people have nothing to do with her death. They loved her. Plus she was a great influencer and most beloved to the sultan, and for being a woman to be so noble a fearless at the time its probably why jafar got her killed.
Definitely the Sultan is more smarter and very much like a bumbling character from the animated movie. I feel maybe Jafar or his side of the family could be responsible for Jasmine's mother's death. Definitely something happened with Jafar's family and Jasmine's mom where it could have been due to the mother not accepting the marriage proposal.
Love the back stories for Jasmine and Jafar. Gives the characters more depth. I'd like to see more history for Aladdin too since he is "the prince of thieves."
Yes, I like that Disney is now adding mothers to the story cause I love my mom and I can't live in a world without her, and that grimy feature about the Disney princess stories makes me feel unhappy, my heartfelt condolences to those without a mother I have a mother and I can't say I know how you feel but I want you all to know that you are all trying and not too feel sad or unloved because you are loved.
@@Soola7 the original story from arabian nights is in many ways different from Disney's aladdin, Also i heard the arabian nights stories are some way or the other inspired by ancient and medieval Arabic, Persian, Indian, Greek, Jewish and Turkish. So one can't say the origin of aladdin story, also casting of half indian, half white.
I love Princess Jasmine in the new movie Aladdin and the song "SPEECHLESS" that Princess Jasmine sings it. It's amazing that I had to see the movie. But I also was inspired by Princess Jasmine because it gives me the inspiration in the movie that I see.
She's mother from india and she gifted jasmine bengal tiger. She 's half indian and half persian and the last thing jasmine wear clothes are like indian clothes more than persian . I searched on google for many times
"missing parents" are also easy story telling systems for writing a young protagonist. If you have a worrying mother around, part of the plot changes in to dealing with that situation first and might send an unhealthy message to kids.
Joseph Dan i dont think thats possible because genie has turn into a human while at the meantime Marwan Kenzari who plays jafar did not receive positive reviews regarding his acting performance. I’m also looking forward to the sequel but I’m afraid the sequel would not be possible because of those 2 factors.
Joseph Dan they could do that but that won’t be a good idea as it seems cringeworthy. Thus it it does not seem appropriate for will smith to turn into a genie again as he already has 2 kids in the movie dummy!
I definitely think that Jafar killed Jasmine's mother. From the info we see in the movie, it seemed to me that that's the angle they were aiming for. I was honestly surprised that that didn't come up in the climax of the movie.

The narrator is correct. Jasmine is half-south-asian. Probably, from Taj Mahal. Maybe, I'm not sure. The fort looks a bit like Taj Mahal. Anyways, the movie looked awesome in 3D.
I did think that maybe somehow Aladdin and Jasmine were related, but at the same time, it could be that Aladdin's mom was the handmaid to Jasmine's mother and that is how Aladdin knows what the servants and people wear in the palace, which can also link the reason Aladdin's mom knew the song.
I loved Aladdin it always has been my favourite film... I agree that Jafar might have murdered Jasmine's mother just to get one step closer to the throne
I like the changes Disney made to give more depth into the characters of Jasmine and Jafar. Her song “Speechless” is like a powerful anthem for feminists. Honestly, this alone makes me love the new movie a bit more than the original. It feels like this movie is more about Jasmine rather than Aladdin, yet it still manages to stay relatively close to the plot of the original. I absolutely adore it! Disney did a great job at plotting and casting as well as song remaking/composing.
I was an orphaned Jasmine, growing up where no one shared my name. I did notice the tragic loss + absent mothers/parent/loved one in Disney films growing up. I was drawn to watch the comedy ones, my grandparents had young Kurt Russel, Jodie Foster, Fred MacMurray, Jan Michael Vincent, Disney movies. When my niece was very young she actually thought this Jasmine + all of the movies, dolls, plush toys, tshirts, and anything involving this story was tied to me! A child's mind🧚+ Disney 👸have made this Jasmine larger than life in my niece's eyes. 👀 Your video filled in some of the gaps of questions I pondered about Disney movies🤔, but mostly my favorite; Aladdin... Thank you💓🤗💕 Xx, Jazzy💓😌🙏💕💌🌎💝🦋 ✌️😷
I don't know where I got it from but my head cannon for them knowing the same song is that the Sultana visited the slums and would sing a song to the children sometimes. Young Aladdin would like it so much that his mother would sing it to him too.
@@chadhawksworth9229 Lol, that's how gold looks in real life. It's not really that shiny and it loses the spark in just 10 years. The oxide layer is the reason behind it. That's why I like steel better. It's my personal opinion though.
Think of this So jafar said to his minion before he chucked him down the well "do you know how many Lives I sacrificed" so what if one of those lives was jasmines mothers lives I just don't know 😱🤔
Maybe instead of wondering jasmine's mother and aladin's mother are one and the same, I prefer thinking that maybe their mothers is best friend and share the same music that they loved..
I went to go see Aladdin last Tuesday for my birthday (June 11th) and in my mind I was thinking that since they gave backstory in Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast on how they all loses their mothers, I was thinking they would do the same in the new Aladdin. Like somewhere towards the end of the movie where Jafar has the Sultan and Jasmine underneath his spell I was waiting for him to reveal that he was that one they killed Jasmine’s mother to get closer to the throne. That would have made a really good plot twist!!!!

I knew jafar killed the queen and loved jasmines song speechless ; very emotional. ❤️
I love it to
I love the new movie! Its probaly the best live action disney movie ever😆🐅🕌🧞♂️🧡
Ya it is cool
Yes i did like the changes made. If i wanted to see the same old story i would have just popped in the DVD.
I just watched all your Aladdin videos. I’m in love!!! So informative.
I loved the movie it was beautiful and shot very great
Gabin199 Is cool
i watched 3D
i also cried so much
yea, it was really amazing :D
Mhm, i watched the movie yesterday in 3D. It was really beautiful!
Vnc
Jasmin and Aladdin is not siblings cause Aladdin 3 we get to know aladdins father is king of thieves
Naomi Scott is absolutely breathtaking
I love how you made this video so informative and it shows that you put a lot of work into this
I don't agree at all that jasmine and aladdin were siblings but jafar killing jasmine's mother very possible
We need a part two of this movie it's so much that is unexpected
Definitely the Sultan is more smarter and very much like a bumbling character from the animated movie. I feel maybe Jafar or his side of the family could be responsible for Jasmine's mother's death. Definitely something happened with Jafar's family and Jasmine's mom where it could have been due to the mother not accepting the marriage proposal.
Nice idea Raghu!
Wow those Pop Characters look cool!!
I have subscribed btw ❤️
Love the back stories for Jasmine and Jafar. Gives the characters more depth. I'd like to see more history for Aladdin too since he is "the prince of thieves."
Thank you for explaining about Jasmine's mother..👌❤️
Loved this film so much! Exceeded my expectations!
I always like the theory that Aladdin and Jasmine’s mums were best friends growing up.
My favorite Disney movie next to lion king. I love your videos.
Ok so now I understood y they used indian clothing for her 🤗
@FranFran2020 in the original movie or the original story from 1001 did they mention smth about jasmine's mum?
sakshi m yaa
@@Soola7 the original story from arabian nights is in many ways different from Disney's aladdin,
Also i heard the arabian nights stories are some way or the other inspired by ancient and medieval Arabic, Persian, Indian, Greek, Jewish and Turkish. So one can't say the origin of aladdin story, also casting of half indian, half white.
Great video I loved it 💕The pop heads look really cool
Personally I really love this new version and as you say it revealed a lot more about aladdin jasmine and jafar than the 1992 version.
I saw this movie on Monday and I was speechless.
Yes me to
Wow so it was Jafar all along in the original movie as well who killed the Sultana!!
I like that they added the queens death because that explains why Jasmine wasn't allowed to leave the castle
Thank you for clearing my confusion about Aladdin.
I love Princess Jasmine in the new movie Aladdin and the song "SPEECHLESS" that Princess Jasmine sings it. It's amazing that I had to see the movie. But I also was inspired by Princess Jasmine because it gives me the inspiration in the movie that I see.
Most people were really confused about the wardrobe but thanks for clearing this all up! ❤️❤️❤️
She's mother from india and she gifted jasmine bengal tiger. She 's half indian and half persian and the last thing jasmine wear clothes are like indian clothes more than persian . I searched on google for many times
We all know they disappeared not because of Jafar’s/Jasmine’s Powers or whatever...
They disappeared because of Thanos’ snap!
"missing parents" are also easy story telling systems for writing a young protagonist. If you have a worrying mother around, part of the plot changes in to dealing with that situation first and might send an unhealthy message to kids.
Dope...I enjoyed the movie most definitely.
I just loved the new movie it was amazing🧞♂️🧡amazing video
#returnofjafar We fans want live action return of jafar as sequel movie to Aladdin.
@@hakunamatata202 you are 100 percent wrong because you don't work for Disney. They will change things up or make him genie again. Don't be stupid.
Joseph Dan they could do that but that won’t be a good idea as it seems cringeworthy. Thus it it does not seem appropriate for will smith to turn into a genie again as he already has 2 kids in the movie dummy!
@@hakunamatata202 s sequel is coming
The real question is... who was Aladdin's mother? He truly is a diamond in the rough.
I definitely think that Jafar killed Jasmine's mother. From the info we see in the movie, it seemed to me that that's the angle they were aiming for. I was honestly surprised that that didn't come up in the climax of the movie.
That would make the movie even better with more drama in the climax.
I LOVE Aladin 😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇 please do more facts and songs .😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😸😸😸😸😸😸😸😸😸😸😸😺😺😺😺😺😺😺😺😺😺😺😺😺😺😺😺😺😺😺👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👰👰👰👰👰👰👰👰👰👰👸👸👸👸👸👸👸👸👸👸👸👸👸🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅👼👼👼👼👼👼👼👼👼👼👼👼👼👼👼👼👱👱👱👱👱👱👱👱👱👱👱👱👱👱👱❤💙💚💛💜💓💔💕💖💗💘💝💞💟❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
The narrator is correct. Jasmine is half-south-asian. Probably, from Taj Mahal.
Maybe, I'm not sure. The fort looks a bit like Taj Mahal.
Anyways, the movie looked awesome in 3D.
Tak Mahal is a #tomb similar to the Pyramid of Giza
It is not a city or kingdom 🤗
lol acteress who plays jasmine charactor is half indian too
I did think that maybe somehow Aladdin and Jasmine were related, but at the same time, it could be that Aladdin's mom was the handmaid to Jasmine's mother and that is how Aladdin knows what the servants and people wear in the palace, which can also link the reason Aladdin's mom knew the song.
Totally possible...
in fact that it's still unkown how jafar has that snake staff from the very first
I loved this movie!! Also I think Will did an amazing job by not to try Robin’s version but made genie his own. (Sorry for my bad english)
Naomi Scott is so beautiful, the movie is awesome

Your video filled in some of the gaps of questions I pondered about Disney movies🤔, but mostly my favorite; Aladdin...
Thank you💓🤗💕
Xx, Jazzy💓😌🙏💕💌🌎💝🦋
✌️😷
This is My Favorite Disney cartoon to movie adaption by far, all of the characters, music, wardobe, special fx, and Disney magic🧚✨ made it amazing!
Wow I got a "Mother" ad before this. I'm *speechless.*
I don't know where I got it from but my head cannon for them knowing the same song is that the Sultana visited the slums and would sing a song to the children sometimes. Young Aladdin would like it so much that his mother would sing it to him too.
Indian dressing might be her costume's inspiration
Ja'afar character was a disappoint. He wasn't the best evil person for this role. They should have chosen a bit older actor with deeper voice.
I’m obsessed with this whole movie!! Loved it all
It was just realesed and it already had a theory , clap your hands 👏🏻👏🏻
.CLAPS.
I had a theory that Jasmine's gold earrings and necklace belonged to her mother
She already said that one piece belonged to her mother. So you could be correct.
@@tsresc her jewelry in the animated one looked better
@@chadhawksworth9229 Lol, that's how gold looks in real life. It's not really that shiny and it loses the spark in just 10 years. The oxide layer is the reason behind it. That's why I like steel better.
It's my personal opinion though.
@@tsresc Yeah, I'm just saying. Growing up, I had a crush on Princess Jasmine and was fascinated by her gold.
Think of this
So jafar said to his minion before he chucked him down the well "do you know how many
Lives I sacrificed" so what if one of those lives was jasmines mothers lives I just don't know 😱🤔
You're right about almost everything in this video I still don't know if Aladdin is Jasmine's brother
You got this song stuck in my head
Wow!
Looks like I‘m going to rewatch Aladdin after what I learned from this video.
Maybe instead of wondering jasmine's mother and aladin's mother are one and the same, I prefer thinking that maybe their mothers is best friend and share the same music that they loved..
I didn't know this stuff... The video is wonderful 😁
Great job ❤️❤️:-)
I went to go see Aladdin last Tuesday for my birthday (June 11th) and in my mind I was thinking that since they gave backstory in Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast on how they all loses their mothers, I was thinking they would do the same in the new Aladdin. Like somewhere towards the end of the movie where Jafar has the Sultan and Jasmine underneath his spell I was waiting for him to reveal that he was that one they killed Jasmine’s mother to get closer to the throne. That would have made a really good plot twist!!!!
