I don’t think I’ll ever stop talking about how Amy’s switch from good to evil was seamless and sheer perfection 🤌🏻. Her transformation definition had Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde inspiration, with the Bell Toll serving almost like a trigger to her switch.
I love that they let Amy play with a sinister/ sweet inner battle. That was inspired. Also..... No matter how evil Giselle got.... She NEVER forgot to use her manners or smile..... Seriously, her smile during the final battle was unnerving.....
Did anyone else spot that the leaves in the magic swirling around Morgan during the memory tree song looked like the leaves that swirl around Pocahontas during Colours of the Wind?
The opening dance scene when the whole town is dining there’s a lot of “disneybounding” happening in the background like one girl dressed like Esmeralda, one dressed like Isabella and another kinda dressed like Alice. Also in the market when Morgan is having her song moment a vendors says “sugared dates and figs! Sugared dates and pistachios!” Hard reference to Aladdin.
Other details: - Giselle's baby is called Sofia, a possible reference to Disney's little princess from Sofia the first. - When Giselle starts to wish things she is by the well. Possibly a joke with "wishing well". - In the movie Sisters, Maya Rudolph also plays an antagonist, with a very similar personality to Malvina's.
Don't forget at the end when Malvina breaks the wand, it's a near shot-for-shot reference to Anastasia breaking Rasputin's relic. Right down to the way she digs her foot down and twists. I know it was originally not owned by Disney but since the property is now, I guess they threw in a little nod.
Morgan’s plain clothes resembled Aurora and Cinderella’s plain clothes and Tyson was dressed like both Prince Philip and Charming in the village and festival scenes. Morgan’s dress transformation was almost exactly like Cinderella’s, a reference to how Disney used to reuse reference frames across films. Also, the scroll resembles the robot from Treasure Island
The walls in Morgan’s room is also in honors of one of the 9 old men’s art work. Also Giselle’s Memory Tree is a nod towards Pocahontas’s grandmother willows tree & is used how the Native American’s folklores would have used it. Also Broom Stick lyric in Love Power is a nod to Idina’s breakout role, Elphaba in Wicked the Musical. Also Morgan’s references with Ariel Belle & Cinderella displays how Morgan is or feels separate from Giselle & her world in the beginning whilst Giselle is inspired by Aurora & Show White. The parallels between the two through two different types of Princesses. The I want more vs I want true love princess.
this was detailed for some Disney movies, but I think that there are more movies referenced and made my own (less well pictured) list here. Esp- Cinderella 3 - Twist in time. And "Brave" too. And why is nobody talking about that it's literally about Disney live action remakes. It's the blue Cinderella dress from the 2015 movie. Actually, Cinderella's 1950 dress is silver-white (even the franchise dress is taken from Cinderella 2 and this is blue!!!). The fairy godmothers are actually not from 1959, they look rather like their counterparts in "Maleficent". This movie is so sad, thinking that it's about classic animation dying and Disney transforming everything into live action remakes...
This isn’t an easter egg but I just loved the scenes with the Magic Scroll. His design, his animations, his personality, even his voice, which by the way was provided by Alan Tudyk. Basically everything about him made him one of my favorite characters in the movie next to Pip.
Morgan's blue dress before it gets torn apart looks like the dress Anastasia wore during the Pari Holds the Key to My Heart scene idk what you'd call that scene but it's right before she finds her grandmother!
Say what you want about the sequel not being better than the first or the plot of angsty teen having issues with naive mom figure is overdone but you have to admit this movie is not by any means boring and never once was there a dull moment in it. I call that a success.
That’s an amazing amount of references you found. I think the only one I actually noticed when I saw the movie was the homage to the Wizard of Oz at the end.
I noticed a few of these easter eggs while watching the movie, but you pointed out plenty more that slipped past me. 11:49 For example, I didn’t notice this actor also made a cameo.
Don’t know if it’s already pointed out but James Monroe Iglehart cameos as a towns person and is seen on the train - aka broadways the genie from Aladdin
I tought Giselle's ball gown in this movie was kinda like an evil version of the one she has worn in the ball from Enchanted. Also, Giselle pushing Morgan into the wishing well reminded me of Queen Narissa pushing Giselle in the first movie. And yes, "Love Power" scene has a lot of "Into the Unknown" vibes, but i also thought it had "Show Yourself" vibes since Morgan was seeing all her family memories just like Elsa was seeing hers in Ahtohallan.
We liked this movie well enough, just not as much as rhe original. As an adoptive family, we appreciated the family themes. My question, why was not the original Morgan used in this movie? She's of the right age range (or at least could act it) and clearly open to acting.
I'm not sure. Going by Rachel Covey's IMDB page it doesn't seem like she continued with her acting career very much after Enchanted. Which is understandable as well given how tough acting and Hollywood can be.
I heard that since it’s been 15 years since the original and this movie was supposed to be 10 years later, that she just looked too old since she was actually 5 years older than she needed to be. Although you’re right, in that one scene she looked about the correct age.
In the perfect song before the "TLM" reference? Morgan walks up something then the "something" tips over simliar to what a "reading Belle" does in Beauty and the Beast in the "Belle" song after getting the book .
Disappointed that none of the Easter Egg videos I've watched from this movie mention that during Morgan's song, in the beginning, the cart salesman is the Tony award winning, James Iglehart. He was the original Genie in Aladdin on Broadway!
Gosh! The broom isn't from Fantasia! It's actually an easter egg from Sleeping Beauty when the fairies use magic to clean the cottage! And the swooping under the mattress is from snow white, when the animals do the exact same thing!!
That movie is great with their favorite easter egg in this movie. I just have another title that's same name to the game, Final Fantasy because the fantasy that should be final for the balancing worlds.
I was so relieved that this movie wasn't woke! I know who has seen it has enjoyed it. I JUST HOPE DISNEY REALIZES THAT GOING BACK TO DISNEY'S ROOTS OF CREATING NON-WOKE, INNOCENT, FAMILY FRIENDLY MOVIES IS WHAT WILL MAKE THEM WEALTHY.
Here’s what bothered me. First: I love the movie but Haley is so talented & shines on screen. She deserved an original story to tell. HCA wrote a lot of great fairy tales. Be original
She was so good wasn't she?!
I wished for a fairy-tale life, and it's all gone terribly wrong...
[bell tolls] Or terribly right. 🤣😂

Amy is literally my favorite actress!
Did anyone else spot that the leaves in the magic swirling around Morgan during the memory tree song looked like the leaves that swirl around Pocahontas during Colours of the Wind?
indeed!
I thought of that as well.
even the cinderella dress transformation
Yes!
yes, she definitely missed Pocahontas.

The scene when Giselle is and Morgan "says don't leave me" reminds of when the beast is dying and Belle says the exact same thing.

- When Giselle starts to wish things she is by the well. Possibly a joke with "wishing well".

I also thought of Sofia the First when they revealed the name of the baby.
I think they also skipped over the Brave Little Toaster reference(s)
Don't forget at the end when Malvina breaks the wand, it's a near shot-for-shot reference to Anastasia breaking Rasputin's relic. Right down to the way she digs her foot down and twists. I know it was originally not owned by Disney but since the property is now, I guess they threw in a little nod.
I can't believe you didn't catch the pattern around Morgan's room door in the beggining : a clear reference to Frozen!

Morgan’s dress transformation was almost exactly like Cinderella’s, a reference to how Disney used to reuse reference frames across films. Also, the scroll resembles the robot from Treasure Island
not to mention the dress Giselle wore when her wish came true is a nice calling back to the dress in "thats how you know" from the first movie.
The walls in Morgan’s room is also in honors of one of the 9 old men’s art work. Also Giselle’s Memory Tree is a nod towards Pocahontas’s grandmother willows tree & is used how the Native American’s folklores would have used it. My absolute favorite reference was that the climax of Love Power has the same chord progression as the Beauty and the Beast transformation theme.
So Movie Lovers, what did you think of Disenchanted?!
I enjoyed it! Not as magical as the first one, but it was good fun :)
It brought me right back to the camp and magic of the first one. 🥰
Loved it. It was way darker than the 1st one.

0:40 I noticed that in Fairy Tale Life (After the Spell) and of course whenever I sing it I include the full entertaining meal verse
another detail: the voice of the scroll is Alan Tudyk, who has voiced countless Disney characters!
I noticed a few of these easter eggs while watching the movie, but you pointed out plenty more that slipped past me. 11:49 For example, I didn’t notice this actor also made a cameo.
Thank you and so glad you found the video helpful.
cool video with great details & motivation breakdowns & symbolism!
there was the Bambi meadow wildlife & Timon & Pumba, too.
Don’t know if it’s already pointed out but James Monroe Iglehart cameos as a towns person and is seen on the train - aka broadways the genie from Aladdin
The sweeping of the broom was actually an Easter egg to snow white cleaning the dwarves cottage lol
or sleeping beauty- merriwheather uses the broom with magic
@@felicity1877 but the sweeping under the rug is more snow white lol

There were purple and yellow flags in the town. I thought of those from Tangled.
Also, Giselle's white carriage is the same that took her to the wedding in the first movie
Malvina is a replica of Queen Narissa from the first one
It's creepy how much alike Morgan's original actress looks like the new one.
What about the "sugar dates, sugar dates and pistachios" where Giselle is in the marketplace (like in Aladdin) sneaking to Morgan?
That was my favorite Easter egg and other lists haven’t mentioned it. I laughed and had to rewrite to hear it again.

Don’t forget the Once Upon a Time references.
at 10:19 there is a dragon at the base of the staircase railing and it looks like maleficent
In the village during one of the songs they make it seem like the marketplace in Aladdin. Someone even says a line from the movie
The scene at 7:18 is reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady ("Wouldn't it be loverly")
I absolutely loved the little Mermaid ❤, I grew up watching Disney in the 80's and me and my daughter watching the film wen it was first released.x
4:11 You mean the Heathers? I KNEW THE VILLAGE LASSES WOULD BE BASED ON HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS

10:27 Next to Sofia Wylie, Gabby Baldacchino is way too perfect for Dorothy Gale if ALW’s Wizard of Oz is coming on Broadway
What about when they sing the lyrics be our guest

Why is noone talking about Camilo from Enocanto, I think that I saw him in 1 scene of the movie
in love poer morgen also has a nod to chinderella's liveaction transformation
Amazing video 👌
Thank you! Cheers!
Why did they re-cast the daughter, and then had her do a cameo? That's a little messed up.
The scroll reminds me A LOT of the robot from treasure planet

The girl reading to the sheep looks like cinderella
In one Cinderella movie used lady termaine a magic wand from the ferry gothmother
Tyson has the same Outfit like Prince eric
The door frame to Morgan's room is the same as Elsas from frozen
i noticed not hard to miss
Morgans dress in yellow like snow white's and her top is like annas
