Calypso is the daughter of Atlas the titan that holds up the sky, the nephew of Cronus the father of Zeus (Zues and Atlas are cousins essentially), meaning she is the second cousin of Hercules/Heracles, and the second cousin once removed of Ariel.

Not all the gods are Olympians. Only 12 are and they live on Olympus. Hades isn't considered an Olympian because he lives in Tartaros

When I heard the news my heart broke I didn’t want to believe it! We didn’t realize along with this channel and us, our host, our internet dad, our best friend has been growing with us! I will miss Steph and her nugget voice, the bright light she brought to every gtlive, and the courage she gave me to be a women and have the guts to be just as if not cooler, smarter, and funnier that the guys to doubt me! I will miss MatPat and his fnaf filled brain! The dad jokes will never get old and the LORRRREEEEEEE will live rent free in our minds! There are no words to describe how much we will miss you and the strength you gave us to be open minded! You have helped mold us into creative thinker who say “toss the box we always look outside of it anyways!”, you have filled our hearts with love, respect and appreciation for the art that people share with us everyday on the internet, food, fashion, and of course video games! My heart broke but revisiting my favorite theories my heart is full of love and gratitude! Not a day a will go by where I don’t think about what thing community has done for me and my life! I encourage you to continue on not with sorrow or sadness but with love and peace, Make, Create, Inspire our next generation of theorist to be more than what society tells us to be but rather use it as a steppingstone to be so much more! There's actually a few other things in different movies that connect them,
In Aladdin during a Whole New World they fly through a bunch of backgrounds from other movies
The Scar Skin in Hercules, like Matpat pointed out, implies they're in the same universe but it also doesn't really line up with Scar's death
Getting eaten alive by hyenas wouldn't preserve the fur but that's probably why he didn't try to connect it

Ariel's mother died by humans. The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning explains why her mother is not in the picture, something we do not get for a ton of characters or princesses. Definitely recommend it, even if there may be some plot points overlooked.

Indeed this theory is true. Ariel is the first Greece princess since she has her King Triton dad and is the son of Poseidon. And Disney has said that Atlantica's home in the Mediterranean Sea and Eric Castle are somewhere in Italy. Disney changed the Danish history and the origin of the characters. These two movies are my favorite.🤩💜🧡

Theory: Ariels mom was a siren from Greek mythology.
King Triton, likely when he was just a prince, and Ariels mom fell in love in Neverland. Prince Tritons crew was lured by sirens and crashed the ship. Sirens often do that. However, Price Triton has a gift from his dad, the triton, that turned him into a merman, allowing him to survive. Ariels mom keeps to herself and sings about wanting more than just to cause ship accidents. She wants love for more than just her voice. Triton hears her and shows that he is a merman to her, and immune to the sirens lure. They talk and he wants to show her, his home. But she can't breathe underwater. Prince Triton asks for help from his sister (who I am assuming is just back home with Poseidon) to get her a day under the sea. She has to give something up though, so she chooses her ability to tall. The deal is struck and she loves the sea so much, she wants to live there. She lives with the other mermaids at Neverland and adapts to what they do; drown people. Soon she feell pregnant with one of their many children...if you want more, lmk

Apollo is the Greek god of healing, music and the sun (and archery but that is unrelated)
Repunzel was saved by a magical SUNLIGHT flower, can HEAL with her hair, her hair is activated by SINGING and she is a great SINGER.
AND it just happens the only thing she remembers from her childhood is the little SUN decoration from her crib.

MATPAT!! I JUST FIGURED SOMETHING OUT!! In the clip of the little mermaid when Ursula was walking down the aisle, in the background are flags for each different kingdoms. There's a red one with a castle on it and most importantly, a purple flag with a yellow sun on it. THE SAME LOGO OF RAPUNZEL'S KINGDOM. Literally the identical symbol used. So, that immediately connects Rapunzel to the Little Mermaid. If the flag is up at their wedding, it would mean they were there. So maybe the earlier rulers of the kingdom were there too. Idk, but still!! I didn't notice it until it caught my eye and I was like OMG THATS RAPUNZELS SYMBOL!!

Well it's not like that was the only connection between the two films. If anything Frozen II created an even stronger connection, as well as one that explains the timeline of these films better.
Yeah, I do agree they’re connected, but not from the ship. The biggest issue is that The Little Mermaid does not take place in Denmark. The original story wasn’t set in Denmark (it’s quite vague, but the few descriptions there are are more like somewhere in the middle of the North Atlantic), and all the setting clues in the movie show somewhere much warmer. The official word of God from Disney is that it’s somewhere in the Mediterranean, and all the animals and plants match that. When it comes to Grimsby (and Eric as well), you really just have to determine which is more likely: a man with a Danish name in the Mediterranean, or an entire Mediterranean ecosystem in Denmark?

in the movie, he lost the majority of his divinity from a potion that Hades made, it was supposed to take his powers so he could die like a mortal to pain and panic
Joshua Gilbert yeah but Demigod means half god half mortal not god but with potions taking away some of his powers which shouldn’t be possible as the gods literally couldn’t take the powers of others so hades couldn’t take the full god Hercules’ powers away so he should still be god in this version of only Disney kept Zeus as a serial adulterer so much more simple

Elsa and Anna's parents went on a voyage but didn't die at sea, they grab a life boat as the ship was still on fire and made it to land (sound familiar?) Well on that ship is when the queen discovered she was pregnant and had a baby boy, that boy grew up to be Tarzan, and Rapunzel is just their cousin. But it doesn't end there people the ship their parents were on was indeed the abandoned ship Ariel and Flounder explore in the movie.
