They create this fake proficiency before her Elsa figures out that her "cousin" is actually her twin after they met at her coronation.

Exploring Elsa's magical origins proper by leading to her not being Anna's biological sister but Princess Rapunzel's twin would've been THE Frozen sequel I would've wanted...and it would have made more sense for Anna to be Arendelle's Queen since she's the King and Queen's only biological descendant.

I love how the directors literally CONFIRMED all these theories (ie. The parents were going to rapunzels wedding, the Tarzan theory, etc.) then they just threw that all out the window in Frozen 2
Exactly, they thought it all worked out until people noticed discrepancies in those theories and Disney retconned them to not look bad. I really think they made Frozen 2 just to disprove those theories and nothing else.

This theory would've explained why Elsa's parents were so focused hiding her powers instead of making any attempt whatsoever at helping her learn to control them. I always thought that was odd. You don't deal with magical powers by locking them up and hoping they just go away. Not to mention, Elsa seems to master her powers pretty quickly when she finally decides to "let it go."
I just chalked it up to bad parenting.

I love this theory but I just want to point out that if Pascal is living over the normal chameleon age, Rapunzel is probably healing him so he can live for longer, so she doesn't lose her closest friend.

Cool theory, but one thing is bugging me: When Anna was hit with Elsa's ice blast, a part of her hair turned the some color as Elsa's hair, meaning the hair color could be a side-effect of the ice powers and not genetics.

This was the first video I ever watched from Film Theory and from the Theorists at all. I thought it was incredible and I still do. I've been watching since beginning of middle school and will graduate high school next year. It's been a wild ride and I'm so thankful to have found this awesome channel when I did. I will miss MatPat and his crazy theories so much but Im equally glad that he's taking time off to spend more time with his family. I like it! Also, Elsa and Rapunzel have connected powers, but they also complement each other. They're both good powers, not curses. They both create and give life. But Elsa's is obviously centered on cold, while Rapunzel's has a warmer feel. White hair, cool colors, mountains and ice, vs golden hair, warm colors, spring and flowers. Twins usually are foils to each other; like two sides of the same coin, right? Just my thoughts.

Nahh, they were just too overprotective of Elsa's sake and others. If being strict = not close then you are wrong. They are strict with Elsa because, who wouldn't? Elsa would become the heir to the throne and if she isn't responsible enough she might make mistakes that will cause the downfall of their kingdom. Anna wouldn't be much of a problem considering her sister is the heir to the throne and not her, that's why the parents are less strict.

+Super Kawaii Hitler If you get the full soundtrack, with all the deleted songs cut from the movie, one of the songs that was supposed to open the movie was called "the spring pageant".
The original lore is that there was a prophecy about a ruler who would bring a great and terrible blizzard forever covering Arendale in ice and will only be stopped by a "Sword sacrifice". Most of the songs cut from the movie were taken off due to the fact they decided to go through a different idea all together thanks to how much they liked "Let it Go" when it was made.
However, when they rewrote Elsa's character last minute, they forgot to add an explanation for her powers.
I really don't think Disney would "forget" to talk about such a crucial detail just because they reworked her character. It's rather clumsy for such a giant corporation that obviously puts a lot of effort into their films. There's no reason why they couldn't stick with the original origin of her powers. Did they ever say they forgot to add that part in?
