Despite the fact that it's implied Neverland is in another dimension or world where magic exists, this theory is pretty neat
Well most movies are based in another dimension where the events of the movie actually took place
Fun fact. Bermuda Triangle is somewhere near Florida and legends say it's the place where gravity and time goes mad
They show that Neverland is in space in the movie

I’m not actually sure if the whole “Peter and the star catchers” series is cannon, but I’m pretty sure that they give a whole lot of clues as to where never land is, if not actually saying g where. It’s been a little while since I’ve read those wonderful books though.
In that rendition Neverland is somewhere around the Canary Islands, off the coast of Spain, based on how the ship would have been traveling from London to the fictional kingdom that would have been in North Africa or near Israel. But yeah, I'm not sure if that counts since it's a derivative work and a prequel.
What? You can't talk about my favorite book series without me..
christi corcoran that’s what I was thinking. Fricking love those books
@@justayeet5905 they were so good and none of my friends talk about them is there a fandom out there somewhere or am I yelling into the abyss???

Why are the pirates adults????
Because they went there as adults. Perhaps a more fitting description is "You never get older"
@Gideon Sparks At least in the animated version, that's all they did. The pirates were even complaining about it.
@@King_Nex no. In the original tale it states everyone will eventually grow up and to deal with this Peter Pan 'thins them out'. Neverland doesn't stop ageing it just slows the process down
@@evanderevans6620 what does thin them put mean?

Peter is a very morally ambiguous character. The book heavily implies that he’s a sociopath, because, as he’s eternally a child, he eternally has the morals of one. This is fitting, as he was raised by fairies, who are themselves noted for being very morally ambiguous.

at a reading, Neil Gaiman said that when he wrote it it wasn't necessarily intended for children and he asked his editor to test it out on her kids (or publicist or something) and they did the kid was like yeah it's fine....and then years later when it was on stage Neil Gaiman saw the kid and was like "this whole thing is like this because of you because you weren't scared' and the (now teenaged) kid was like....yeah I was actually terrified and it gave me nightmares but I really wanted to know how the story would end.....and that's why it's a "children's book"...I'm paraphrasing of course, but I'm sure you can find Neil Gaiman talks where he tells it better
Theory:
Neverland is just heaven.
THE KIDS ARE DEAD.
PETER PAN IS AN ANGEL.
A creeper angel
No it's not.
In the original book by James Matthew Barrie is said that Peter Pan goes for a while with the kids who dies on their way to heaven so they won't be scared, but it's something different from Neverland, it's just the road to heaven and not the heaven itself.
(Sorry for my bad English, I am from Italy)

Fun Fact: The original Peter Pan would kill any child that grew up. In one copy, the whole, “Never grow old,” bit never existed. So for good’ol Peter to keep his band of child warriors, he had to off those who became adults.
Isn’t History fun?
Nuollifer De'Chaul Because Peter was the only one of them that didn’t age, there’s a theory that when the Lost boys showed signs of growing up, he’d kill them to steal their youth.
Nuollifer De'Chaul why I love history!
Wow
There were actually several revisions of Peter and Wendy before it became published. In a very early version, Peter was the villain of the story. That didn't happen in the published version. The actual published version is what's considered canon -- just like with any other book.

The re-animations on this are ridiculously hilarious 😂
I gotta be honest with you mat pat, i’m really disappointed.
The island of Touneffe Atoll doesn’t have ANY mountains.
You know why? Because that’s not Neverland. Haiti is.
Why? Because haiti has a salt water lake the holds the last haitian ‘american' crocodiles--they used to be everywhere untill they were hunted out. Because it had flamencos and sea turtles too.
Because Black Beard LOVE Tortuga island and Pirates LOVED the Haitian landscape because it held so many mountains that they could hide in.
Because in Haiti we have a rich history of buried treasure from both the pirate era to the post-revolution(1804) era.
Because Haiti's name LITERALLY MEANS ISLAND OF HIGH MOUNTAINS and because LOOK AT THE ISLAND ITS A STYLIZATION OF HAITI& DR.
And finally: The taino believed there were mermaids and a fountain of youth as well and most say it was either in Haiti or Cuba and both countries have their own little spots the locals claim are magic. Why doesnt cuba work? Because in the depiction of the island, the bay looks just like the one in haiti. If you made an elevated map and draw it from the perspective that peter pan would see, it would LOOK JUST LIKE FREKIN' HISPANOLA.
I have to agree with this more , the turneffe atoll would have no resemblance to the movie in landscape or vegetation (only mangrove) its not big either. luckily next month im actually going to do a little vacay there .
I honest agree with you. Well done for the research
Why would he even think the Turneffe Atoll was linked to the "fountain of youth" ?
completely agreed, a clap and a half to you
TJ Reighn BUT HEY, THAT'S JUST A THEORY. A FILM THEORY

Now I want to go to a vacation. So sad that it's 2020 :(

Side note: the crocodile DID NOT bite Hook's hand off. It clearly states in both the book and the movie that Peter cut it off and threw it to the crocodile.
that doesn't affect the theory at all, but it is very true
KanitoKawaii I know. That's why I said it was a side note, because it's just a minor correction and not vital to the theory.
Reading Wolf techinically the croc still ate it lmao
Makes a good amount of sense though. Many of the Lost Boys ran away from home and lack the wisdom and maturity due to never growing up. Even the pirates could be reasoned with (the original Jolly Roger flag was originally the more merciful one, it meant that the pirates were willing to take prisoners.). But a fight with the lost boys could end up even bloodier...

That's what Peter Pan (2003) used as the way to get to Neverland. I actually have a different theory involving the Serpentine.

O.U.T. uses an "alternate" version for the Disney movies. Hence Hansel & Gretel being in both season 1 AND season 7. Same with Alice (Hey, Disney! Still waiting for O.U.T. in Wonderland to reach DVD/Blu-Ray!). However, I get what you mean.
I don't even remember how they did it in Hook (staring Robin Williams).
Was is just me or did anyone else think it was on a different planet when they were a kid.
I always assumed that too. Especially since the pirates' ship appears as a cloud in the sky and the sequel actually has the characters fly through space to get to Neverland (meaning Disney's version is in space). Since the stars bit was added to the Disney adaptation, I'd assume they always meant it to be in space.
I actually thought it took place in a different world. Like they went inside the star and transported 😂😂
for me it i though of it as like a different dimension or entity. ( on the movie they fly towards the star that reveals the island)
I thought it was literally the star which doesn't make much sense I guess I just didn't really care enough to think about it
dude, i thought they just flew into the star...
MatPat's just mad that he doesn't own his own amusement park in his backyard.
I mean... wouldn't you be?

I always thought that Neverland WAS the star on the right, but Oh well :-)
Depending on how you interpret the story, it is. You're neither right nor wrong :)
considering this is a fictional story saying "star" instead of planet isn't too big a deal, but stars are huge celestial bodies of plasma self sustained by nuclear explosions of fusion and fission.
richard conaway yeah. I can imagine living there. Nice and sunny.

This is a solid video with one exception, Hook wasn't Blackbeard's Bosun, I believe it's stated as a rumor in the original text, but Hook at Eton, an essay by Barrie definitely places him as someone who was born in the 1800's, both in reference to some of his interests at school. (He was a fan of the The Lake poets, who are from the first half of the 19th century.) and the fact that his aunt is still alive in after the events of the book.
The thing i love the most about this theory is how he pronunced Juan like "Uan" and added a french accent we spainards do not have.
This type of things makes me laugh every time.
