I liked Enid "wolfing out" into a very powerful werewolf. Somewhat unexpected, but reinforces the point that those who may appear weak can have amazing inner strength they can discover when it's needed, especially when helping their friends.
About the Legally Blonde thingy, before they started watching the movie, Tuler said "So, you like horror movies?" And then turned on Legally Blonde, which for Wednesday, absolutely is a horror movie. I see it more as him knowing her without bad intentions or hints behind it.
I wouldn't call it a good re-make, they just recalled characters, if you would let people watch this in the '90 people would tell you the same, this looks more like Harry Potter(many proved this), what it would looks like this one is probably "Hotel Transylvania"
I thought the plot and school premise were a bit meh. In truth it seemed like Wednesday's actress carries most of the show by herself. But at least it didn't feel like they changed things because they hate the original, and most characters seem like actual characters and not there just for POC representation or preaching a political message - unlike 90% of recent remakes...
This series did a great job at EXPANDING the Addams family world without stomping on the previous versions too much. Great red herrings, depth of characters, humor and mystery. Mostly I’m interested in the character arcs, who will replace the headmaster? Will Pugsly go to the same school? There are significant things that can come into play for the future…..Goodys book, Nathaniel Faulkner's diary, Crackstones Ring, the saber used to kill Garrett, uncle festers next “incognito” vehicle, her necklace, her goth outfits, her psychic abilities maturing(one kid had telekinesis and another could bring images to life). What other kind of easter eggs will Burton bring back from the past? Cousin IT? Joel Glicker? Debbie the serial killer? The dreaded Disney film montage? Goth Pocahontas and Indians revolting and decimating all of the pilgrims? The lemonade stand? the new addams baby? guillotines!?!?!
The blood scene at the Rave'N is also similar to the excessive fake blood Wednesday and Pugsley sprayed all over the audience at their school's talent show in the first movie. Especially since Wednesday was absolutely LOVING it - just like her family loved it in the movie.
@@ilkvomit88 Homages don't need to be precise. The talent show was sprayed, the dance was sprayed. In both, Wednesday gets off on it. That's all that matters bro
When Tyler puts on Legally Blonde, he does tell Wednesday, "i hope you like horror movies". So, he knew what he was doing and did indeed put on a horror for Wednesday. I don't think there was any foreshadowing there...
I noticed a really cool easter egg during the cello scene. During the music that plays you can hear the two finger snaps on the beat (Im not quite sure how to explain it). During the cello scene you hear two finger snaps at the exact moment where the scene cuts to Rowan walking down the stairs in the Nightshade secret room, forshadowing that you need to snap your fingers twice to open the secret door.
At the ending of season 1, you can see Lurch looks completely different than he was at the beginning of the season. His eyes are black and not white. It may be possible that Principal Weems is alive and probably shape shifted into Lurch to take Wednesday away at somewhere safer as Tyler is still alive!
@@frogsoda *Beware Spoiler Alert* But I think he has the power to Control his army of bees he has, at the end when Wendsday was about to be shot by that one lady he sent his colony of bees to attack her. That's my only Guess.
@@tysjustvibinb931 I think you're right. After I read your post I suddenly remembered we have something called Wikipedia so I checked there and under the character it says that he has the power to control bees. So..👍🏻
The foreshadowing I got from Tyler was when he said, "You owe me." It's a creepy thing to say to your date. It's manipulative, regardless of the tone in which it's said. When he said that, I immediately thought, "Ew". Even when Xavier have Wednesday a phone, he didn't say "Call me. You owe me." He said, "If you want to." Big difference.
Ms. Thornhill reminds me so much of the little sheep from zootopia as they were both "innocent" (they also both wore round glasses) and ended up being the bad guys
But did anyone notice how the striped uniforms are an Easter egg for Beetlejuice and his stripped suit. Or how the front of nevermore is the Addams house. Or how her dress she wore to the dance is a black version of Lydia Deetz red wedding dress in Beetlejuice.
Morticia says in the first episode when they are talking with weems that Wednesday is allergic to colour that's why weems had a special uniform made for her 😊
The " snap twice'' theory is also why she ACTUALLY became Wednesday. She refused to be Wednesday until the creators of the series added a scene where she snaps twice.
For all the easter eggs mentioned, I don't see any mention that the name Thornhill is Cary Grant's character in Hitchcock's North by Northwest (which is a Shakespeare reference) and that the film contains the line "The three of you together. A portrait only Charles Addams could draw."
8:06 I was watching this series with my sister and we agreed, that while Wednesday would be against the cheerful character of Elle and her habit to have everything in pink, she would appreaciate the final message of the movie. Also, 5:41, that's just Morticia for you. :d
Many videos state that Wednesday only smiles when she’s reunited with Uncle Fester. That’s her toothy grin. Wednesday also smiles without showing teeth twice in the first episode: 1: after the piranhas have been released and 2: at the end of the episode.
The doll scene was actually a direct reference to the original sitcom because Wednesday literally would decapitate her dolls and did in fact build a device to do it more realistically and efficiently
You also forgot to mention the most important easter egg of them all, Christina Ricci the evil teacher - Marilyn Thornhill, is the original actor for the "Adams Family" movie from 1991 was in fact, Wednesday Adams :)
The "blood" in the sprinklers feels like more a reference to the movie Blade than Carrie. In Blade when the blood bath dance begins there are those who revel in it and those who freak out, in the Wednesday scene Wednesday and others stand stoically when the paint begins to rain down while others run around freaking out.
3:40 Wrong. Xavier has the ability to animate his drawings and paintings. The painting came alive as he was painting it because of his power, not because it was attacking from a dreamscape.
I have a theory on why Goody’s spirit looks so young: She considers killing Buttcrackstone her greatest achievement, and when she died, instead of looking how old she did when she died, she chose the look she had the day she put that witch hunter in the ground.
There's a foreshadow of Tyler as a hyde when the sheriff is developing the pictures of the hyde. The hyde has the appearance of shouting while the picture is in the watch which mirrors Tyler shouting in the tub
That's part of the fun of a series like this; looking for references to other works in the background. I loved this new version 🖤 I wasn’t quite sure at the beginning; but it really turned out entertaining. I love how it’s more magical than the originals.
The part of Wednesday's dance where she cocked her head and swings her arms behind her back is taken from Tim Burton's movie, Mars Attacks. Specifically, it comes from the alien that is disguised as a human woman who was picked up by Martin Short and taken to the White House
With the legally blonde part I think that he played it because Wednesday wouldn't have been scared by a traditional horror movie so he put on this to get around it and still give her a _torchering_ experience (as she likes them). After watching it she even thanked him.
Many of the "Easter Eggs" here taken for references to the previous films and television show, but which are in fact simply concepts that creator Charles Addams originally drew in the original cartoons for The New Yorker (Wednesday's penchant for putting her dolls in a guillotine, Morticia removing the heads from the roses, etc).
I have two favourite moments: 1. Dance of course. 2. The last episode; Tyler: You're like a cockroach. Wednesday: Please, flattery will get you nowhere. I'm still laughing! XD

goody adams 1. Nothing burton does is without reason. the girl changing in the painting is definitely intentional. 2. I love how they use the "Adams" name to their advantage and give them a connection to the witch trials. it's perfection.
I am not sure who has time to watch movies this close to find all these Easter eggs but I did find most of these without even realizing it. The show is awesome. I am hoping it won't be canceled. Lately, Netflix has been canceling excellent shows. This is the best of so many worlds Raven, Edgar Allan Poe,Hitchcock, Tim Burton,Stephen King
I just realized they were actually smart and kept Kent's bruised/black eye after Thing punched him, y have I seen no one else mention this? Pls like this comment so she can see this, it needs to be heard. Or u can just comment it as well, but pls give me the credit..... Thx.
Didn't miss any of these and never had to pause once. Also had the monster figured out after the dance episode - it was too easy. Wednesday has to touch someone to get a flash. She flashed on Eugene who wasn't there (he was in the forest). She flashed after bumping into Tyler and had a monster view of attacking Eugene. Easy peasy. Had the master down to 2 people by then as well. Wasn't too difficult to rule out the principle - she was plainly way too obvious. Anyone who knows Burton's style knows anyone he consistently dangles in front of you is just a diversion (see Xavier as well).
You missed Morticia giving a the Year book as a hint to Wednesday. Since she is a dove she might know that Wednesday needed it. Prediction: her friend throwing a bait so Wednesday will be back for another school year.
I think my favorite thing is that Wednesday could completely care less about what others thought of her, but the second Enid was mad at her, she *INSTANTLY* cared. And the fact that she so closed off with every, but immediately hugs Enid when she makes it out okay…Most would say thats a really good friendship…but after watching….it was definitely Queer-Coded in my opinion. They low-key remind me of Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy.
I think that the producers try to make Xavier her second "love interest" but seeing how bland the character was, and how people would react to that, they changed their mind by the last episode, good call, because most people that I have read in the comments think that Xavier is one of the worst characters in the TV Show.
I don’t think it’s queer coded at all. I think it’s supposed to show how Wednesday as a character has developed during the series from not caring at ala and not really having any sort of connection with other people (except her family) to show that she now cares about others and has started to open up. The hug was also really just a hug. There is zero chemistry between the two and at that moment, there still wasn’t any in that sense if way. Enid was just really thrilled to see Wednesday. Her character is more the really supportive sweet puppy friend. They’re almost never the love interests in shows
Surely, I'm not the only one who also picked up on the Haunted Mansion references. After all, Tim Burton included much what inspired him growing up. He worked with Disney as well.
Gwendoline Christie was actually given free hands to create what her character would look like and wear. She took inspiration from old Hollywood actresses and films they were in, just like you said!
8:26 but that's because he said that they were going to watch a scary movie, and what could possibly be more terrifying to Wednesday that Legally Blonde? And if you pay attention, at the end of the movie Wednesday thanks him
I just finished the series and loved it so much. But the resemblance of Wednesday and Harry Potter is unavoidable. In HP it's muggles and in Wednesday it's normies. They show students having similar abilities shown in HP. Also she was saving the school from evil villain like in HP. Although I'm excited for next season. For next season I think Lucas is somehow suspicious because when mayor got killed it was black hand which turned off the switch and his behavior throughout the series is constantly changing and it's weird. And also Xavier Or someone related to him can be villain as he apparently can get dreams of danger around and he draws them that's how he was able to draw hyde. But he also drawn pictures of Wednesday several times which is bit weird or may be he just likes her don't know.
i had to wait till i finished all of wednesday before i seen these videos and i couldn’t wait the whole time! thanks for this one jan! i hope they green light wednesday for another season.
This was great and very informative!!! I picked up on a few of these but missed all the small clues and learned new ones..thanx for sharing..I'm going to watch the other clues and share!🥰
I actually thought Legally Blonde movie was a cute idea because to Wednesday that is true horror. She would have been critiquing horror movies on how they are shit and what they could do better lol Legally Blonde was the perfect horror movie. Honestly i questioned if he low key really did like her or at least the more innocent side of him did, what was left of that side anyways. I didn’t take it as a foreshadowing moment.
Wednesday is intelligent. If Tyler played a real horror movie at the crypt at midnight in the middle of the forrest adding to the fact that he already organised a whole date on his own in that place would all come out as suspicious. So I don't really agree with the point made there. But I knew it was either Tyler, Thornhill or Weems. I were convinced it was Tyler when 1. the hyde would kill everything in front of Wednesday, stare at her as tho he has affection for her and then leave. 2. Tyler would always be there right before Wednesday was faced with another issue and then disappear right when she approached the issue, lovers don't do that. 3. Tyler was a normal boy and at the night when they went alone to the Gates' residency, Tyler was on his own, weaponless and defenceless and had never been to the house but he survived the Hyde's attack without even losing one pinky. 4. at the Rave'n, almost everyone was sus about why was Tyler so comfortable around hundreds of outcasts. like anything could go wrong and he could be eaten up but there he was staring at and enjoying Wednesday's dance. 5. Thornhill was a lil too obsessively around both Wednesday and Tyler so obvo
large marge reference when the driver drops off the first victim into the woods. enid and wednesdays window is a jack and sally reference, theres a few of those. also another corpse bride reference when the boy is running through the woods and trips being chased by the girl in the dress. theres a LOT of references to tim burtons movies. this series is awesome
I drink matcha latte every morning, but only once a day. I drink plain green tea the rest of the day. I'm not sure it's necessarily a clue that she drinks two different kinds of drink and Tyler remembers the more complex one. Or maybe she orders the coffee during his shift, while her daily matcha is in the morning when someone else is working in the coffee shop while Tyler is at school. Don't get me wrong, if it's a clue, that's cool, it just seems more likely that she drinks more than one thing in a day.
Theory - I think that Goody Addams will possess Wednesday. If you remember Morticia said 'don't trust Goody because her power made her evil' (something like that I can't remember), then Goody passed through Wednesday's body to heal her. So now Goody could be inside Wednesday controlling her so she can come back to life. I hope that all makes sense. Also I think this theory already exists!
Yep, they sure used Lenore (The Raven Poem) quite cleverly. Raven, Nevermore, Poe Cup, These are all references to a line "Quote the Raven, *Nevermore* ". Plus the poem's a heavy talk about death so... Tim knew what he was doing.

I really enjoyed this, her dance was everything!
You missed Morticia giving a the Year book as a hint to Wednesday. Since she is a dove she might know that Wednesday needed it.
Prediction: her friend throwing a bait so Wednesday will be back for another school year.
I literally just finished Wednesday and I must say... I loved it, but I really got jumpscared when Tyler killed the therapist lol
They low-key remind me of Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy.
yall making everything gay bruhhh, its her best female friend, and her first friend in nevermore, ofc she gonna care for her
I think that the producers try to make Xavier her second "love interest" but seeing how bland the character was, and how people would react to that, they changed their mind by the last episode, good call, because most people that I have read in the comments think that Xavier is one of the worst characters in the TV Show.
*couldn't care less
You missed Wednesday wide eyed, quipping "I'm feeling much better now." A reference to John Astin's (Gomez) Buddy character on NIGHT COURT.
I love her dance routine
That Ad spot transition was very smooth. Bravo 👏
i had to wait till i finished all of wednesday before i seen these videos and i couldn’t wait the whole time! thanks for this one jan! i hope they green light wednesday for another season.

- It's an american bald eagle
- But aren't they extinct?
- They are now
Wednesday is intelligent.
I thought the fake blood scene was also a nod to the opening scene from Blade with it being pumped through the sprinkler system.
large marge reference when the driver drops off the first victim into the woods. enid and wednesdays window is a jack and sally reference, theres a few of those. also another corpse bride reference when the boy is running through the woods and trips being chased by the girl in the dress. theres a LOT of references to tim burtons movies. this series is awesome
jenna slayed this damn role
Many versions of Wednesday like to cut her dolls heads off via deity, just like Tish cutting off rose buds.
Don't get me wrong, if it's a clue, that's cool, it just seems more likely that she drinks more than one thing in a day.
the sneaky way to announce yor sponsor, tying the show to the sponsor
Theory - I think that Goody Addams will possess Wednesday. If you remember Morticia said 'don't trust Goody because her power made her evil' (something like that I can't remember), then Goody passed through Wednesday's body to heal her. So now Goody could be inside Wednesday controlling her so she can come back to life.
I hope that all makes sense. Also I think this theory already exists!
Her smiling at the piranhas in the pool an her dancing. The whole series was great but I love those moments!
The perfectly placed nord vpn ad caught me off guard
I'm not gonna lie that Sponsorship was smooth
My favorite part was when she said "It's Morbin time"...
That NordVPN plug was incredible
That was the smoothest sponsorship plug I've ever seen
Ppl be like: the Netflix show brings so much drama to the adams family. Them also talking about a literal theater arts play
Wednesday is by far my favorite tv series this year. I originally grew up with the Addams Family 90s movie
that ad worked so well😂😂😂 tyler shoulda gotten her that😂
that sponsor was so smooth. i actually enjoyed it so much. best one ive seen
I LOVE her smile when she meet her uncle
That sponsor was so smooth, it got me off guard 💀
Pennywise mouse 3:54
You forgot when Tyler asked her, while on their date in the Crypt, if "she likes SCARY movies".
A reference to Ortega starring in the latest SCREAM.
I WANT MORE EPISODES OF WEDNESDAY
Yep, they sure used Lenore (The Raven Poem) quite cleverly. Raven, Nevermore, Poe Cup, These are all references to a line "Quote the Raven, *Nevermore* ".
Plus the poem's a heavy talk about death so... Tim knew what he was doing.
