- Hey Guys, welcome to Guitar Gods Episode 7.
This weeks Lesson is inspired by the amazing playing of Frank Gambale.
Resisting the temptation to release this episode first was so difficult for me 😂 as Frank has inspired my playing so much, but I've done my best to make this series kind of a chronological order of when I personally came across them.
I can't believe there are only three episodes left now but I've really enjoyed reading all of your comments and seeing that you've enjoyed this series.

Aw thank you mate, that's so awesome of you to say so... All the best 👍🎸🙏
I second that
Please, please keep them coming! Best guitar series by far on you tube! Alex is such a versatile player, few people could pull off so many styles.
I'll see what I can do man.. Glad you're digging them.. 🙏😎🤘
A living legend gives insights into another living legend's style. Really doesn't get much better than this-- Can't thank you enough, Alex!
You're too kind. Thanks so much man 🙏👍🎸
THIS MOST LIKELY MY ABSOLUTE VERY FAVORITE VIDEO OF MAESTRO ALEX HUTCHINGS...
man, you have pretty amazing skill with that pick. Such minimal looking movement with the picking hand it looks like your not even moving enough to get that sound. nice.
Thank you very much sir 👍🙏🎸
I am mezmerized by your playing! I am sitting here literally laughing in disbelief and joy at the same time - inspired to play and practice in awareness of what appears to be possible :D
Thank you so much mate, I'm really pleased you feel that way. It's my honour thank you. 👍🙏🎸
What’s amazing about frank is his musicality and melodic Sense. With great power comes great responsibility
Come back to this video after our lesson. One of the best lessons I've ever had Alex thank you so much
My pleasure mate. I’m very glad you enjoyed it… happy practicing mate. :) 👍🎸🙏
You’re really killing these lately, tackling the playing styles of the most technically advanced guitarists!
Thank you for all your hard work and for sharing it with us.
THank you Bert my pleasure mate. I'm glad you're enjoying them.. ll the best 👍🎸🙏
@@zombielandakausa7468 I've followed Alex for a while. He's surely one of the best in the world. I said lately, because I've NEVER seen anyone cover the styles of Lane or Gambale so well and am extremely appreciative that he's chosen to share this stuff.
Frank's been one of those "I'll never get there, better just admire him from afar" (you're up there too!) but you've been showing that going the extra mile with new techniques/styles/players' approach really works and makes you better. Still using a telescope, though! Great lesson as always Alex!
Hey Roberto, thanks for watching and for your comment... Glad you're enjoying the videos... All the best to you 👍🎸🙏
14:35 is very Gambale, what a scary lick lol... outstanding playing as always and loving the series mate!
THank you very much mate glad you're enjoying it... All the best
I love the music of Frank Gambale, he is my favorite guitarist.
You know how to masterfully execute the legendary sweep picking technique.
Thank you so much for teaching us too.
Thanks and greetings, you are great Mr. Hutchings !!!
Thank you Jose.... My pleasure. 👍
Out of this world! Perhaps my favourite episode of what's becoming my favourite RUclips series. I'm secretly rooting for a Holdsworth episode in the future...
THank you mate, I'm glad you enjoyed it.... well there's only three episodes left... let's see who makes it in there..... Have a great weekend and stayed tuned mate. 👍🎸🙏
Super inspiring, Alex. Going over this series 1 by 1. I was also blown away by Frank’s technique back in the late 80s. Hung out with him a couple times in 2020 when he visited Mexico City for a couple shows/clinics. He’s such a great guy.
Subscribed !!
Thank you mate, I'm so Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah Frank is a lovely guy and a monster player. Wishing you all the best and welcome to the channel. 👍🙏🎸
Those are a couple of the coolest Ibanez S' I've seen.
Yeah man I love 'em too. Thx for watching 👍🎸
Just amazing playing you have nailed it! thank you.
Was already subscribed but I subscribed again. That's how good this was!
Its bizarre, when i noodle on the guitar there is literally zero frankizms in there, yet, when i construct a solo or lick from the ground up its almost always frankish. His mathematical approach to playing is pure genius, his execution is even more so. Alex, brilliant homage!
That's interesting... so funny how the brain works.... Glad you enjoyed it mate. 👍🎸🙏
Excellent video, Alex! You got me since first day I came across one of your videos on youtube more than 10 years ago. I loved your dynamics and tone changing in every song you play making it absolutely entertaining, fun to watch and not boring at all! Besides all the techniques between them. My son will know both you and Gambale and soon as he learned to talk! My dream come true would be he becoming a guitarist like one of you 🙏
Greetings from Dominican Republic! Give us a visit and clinic one day 🙂
Thank you very much Frann... I wish you and your son very well I hope your dream will come true.. All the best and thanks for watching. 👍🙏
I also changed the way I hold the pick to Frank's way after studying his "Chopbuilder" video (which, btw, catapulted my guitar playing...highly recommended for any beginner guitarist).
Awesome, yes he had a huge impact on many thanks for watching 👍🎸🙏
I had the pleasure of meeting Frank at PMT Birmingham where he played some tunes possibly 10 years back. I asked if I could see his hand and pressed my left hand to his and it was as if we were hand twins so I couldn't use hand size as an excuse anymore. GUTTED. Was a very nice man, which is always nice to find out.
Hey mate, that's very cool... ell that you saw him not the hand thing...🤣 But yes indeed he's an absolutely top bloke for sure. Thanks for watching and all
the best. 👍🎸🙏
This is just so awsome!Always expecting this serie
THank you mate.... ;-) 👍🎸🙏
Awesome video amzing technique thanks for sharing Alex.
Great video Alex, Frank is one of the true greats and you’ve done a great job.
Thank you mate, yes he a real living legend. What a player. Glad you enjoy my humble homage. 👍🎸🙏
I was really, really waiting for this one since the announcement of this series! Thank you very much Alex for your effort of putting these videos out. Learning the different licks is really helpful for getting to know different styles of playing...
I started to practice economy picking just before buying your masterclass earlier this week and I do not regret either even though the beginning felt really unnatural and clunky. Economy feels really great as a little "cheat" with tricky licks and 3NPS Patterns
Hey mate, thanks for watching and for your kind comment... I'm so pleased you're enjoying the Masterclass and getting a lot out of the economy picking.... Wishing you all the best with it. Thanks for watching...👍🎸🙏
Absolutely love FG. Thanks for covering his stuff! Cheers Alex!
My pleasure Ash, glad you enjoyed it.... 👍🎸🙏
Hello Alex I'm from Thailand fan
I love your style and Gambale style
Hey Yoko Rock Band, thank you for watching I'm glad you enjoyed it. All the best to you. 👍🎸🙏
Hi Alex. It's nice to see how enthusiastically you talk about Gambale. From your words I understand how inspiring it was for you. For me you are my source of inspiration, even if I will not be able to sound like you in 1000 years. Thanks for the video and have a nice weekend
Thank you Luigi, yes I've always loved his playing.. I'm happy you find inspiration in my playing too.. All the best as always. 👍
Sounds like you did work so much and hard Frank's playing style... Amazing. Thanx for this vid 🙏🏻
Thank you Cedric, yeah really enjoyed learning this style back in the day... Thanks for watching I'm glad you enjoyed it. 👍🎸🙏
Awesome! Valuable information!
Alex constantly blows me away.
Brilliant as always Alex, I had the pleasure of seeing Frank live with Chick Corea many years ago, stunning concert. Keep up the good work :)
Thank you mate, oh yeah I've seen him with Chick a few times too, what a band... unforgettable.. All the best Marcus. 👍🎸🙏
Man this is just awesome! Wish i came across this during covid! So inspiring I love Frank!! Thank you soooo much Alex
My pleasure! I'm glad you enjoyed it. All the very best 👍
@@AlexHutchingsMusic you have Franks style down!! So inspiring and awesome.. Thanks mate
Great breakdown and analysis of Frank’s playing Alex. You’ve got the “Gamble Thing” down. Amazing. I would really like to see you do some live streams. That would be cool.
Hello mate, I'm glad you enjoyed the video..... Yes I've been thinking that doing some live streams would be another cool step on the channel... I'll look into it and endeavour to do them in the not too distant future, All the best and thanks for watching. 👍
Cheers Alex! You're great as always... I too have some fond memories of The Great Explorers album, glad to have this experience in common... \m/ ! ! !
Yeah man, such a cool album. THanks for watching. ;-)
Hey Alex, I’ve been your fan ever since I saw your videos on YT around 2009 or 10. I love your playing and I’ve been waiting for your album to come out.
One more video based on Frank Gambale you made my day Alex ^^ I've always loved his particular sweep picking approach and tried to implement it too when i play some fusion style ! Indeed Frank can be proud that someone like you got that much into his musical style. Lots of great licks and anecdotes ;) Thanks ! MVP truth in shredding album is just the best Gambale's playing with his live album in my opinion
That's awesome mate... GLad you liked it.... And yeah MVP its crazy good... 🎸👍🙏
That MVP album is historic, it's also great in that if you want to learn from it, it lets you synthesise the polar opposite styles of Gambale and Holdsworth
Mind blown, yet again!
Cheers mate. 👍🎸🙏
Blimey! Cracking as always :)
THank you mate. ;-) 👍🎸
Getting those bars on the 2nd lick to sound clean is sooo hard
that's the most killer licks of all times!
Fantastic stuff sir 🙏 superb and ❤️ your ibanez guitars in this vid too 😊🎸👌 Frank G is the man and as you say is fantastic how he fuses rock and jazz.
THank you Neil. Yes indeed he is the man. All the best 👍
So damn clean and expressive just like Frank! Thank You Alex
My pleasure and thank you too mate. 👍🎸🙏
Im thanking the youtube algorythm right now soooo much. This is gold! Will be back for the licks after I got my chops in order. Now just here for the stories!
THank you mate, glad you enjoyed it.... Good luck with the licks... 👍🙏🎸
Just catching up with these awesome clips Alex. I love it!
Frank is a beast and your interpretation and implementation of his techniques & approaches is an incredible addition to the world of Guitar.
Hope you're well dude!
Thanks so much man, much appreciated... Glad you're enjoying them. All good here thanks, hope you're well too. ;-) 👍🎸🙏
P.S how are you getting on with these sweeps? I'm sure they're pretty straight forward for someone like yourself.... I'll expect to see you smash 'em out next time i see you... 👍😂😉
@@AlexHutchingsMusic Glad you're doing well Alex. Great to hear from you. haha, that's very kind of you to say so... I use these shapes a lot, but I can't get them sounding as terrifying and fluid as you do dude. There's also some patterns your playing here which I can't even imagine being able to play! I love how you blend this style of playing with other aspects so musically. This video has already inspired me to find some cool new shapes. Thank you so much for doing what you do! Stay in touch, have a great day!
Well done Alex. This is absolutely superb content. Great comments about FG, great playing from you, superb lesson. Really well done indeed. I’ll be forwarding this on to many of my students that like FG and should also be checking out your content. You also gained a new subscriber. I seriously rate your stuff. 👏🏻
Awesome thank you mate, I'm glad you're enjoying the vids. All the very best mate. ;-)
I've already said this in a comment earlier, but I remember watching an interview about 15 years ago where Frank Gambale was asked who he thought the new generation of guitar greats are.
He mentioned 3 names:
Alex Hutchings
Guthrie Govan
Derek Trucks
I'm still so grateful to Frank Gambale, not just for his incredible music and technique that he has shared with the world, but for putting me onto 3 outstanding guitar legends.
That coral Ibanez is great. I can't rock it but you do very well. Thanks for the great video and Best Regards!
Thank you very much mate, I'm sure you could rock it f you wanted to... ;-) 👍🎸🙏
Alex, once again you made my day! Thnx!
My pleasure Heniz... ;-) THanks for watching.
Oh man this is pure gold thank you so much
My pleasure I'm so Glad you enjoyed it! 👍🎸🙏
Finally this episode comes out thanks mr Alex 🙏
😂🤣😂 I know man, I was waiting for soooo long and I'm the one doing it... 😂😂😂 THanks for watching mate.
Always a great choice! The first time I heard Frank Gambale was in Chick Corea Elektric band, in time track song! Amazing
Awesome yes all of the chick stuff is so great.... Thanks for watching. 👍🎸🙏
Wowwwww.. it really your secrete weapons. Thank you for sharing. Grouping of five really amazing. The second lesson is what the audience always screaming when you play it. I remember you doing that kind of lick at Roland Experience Israel 2012 (at 12 minutes on video). THANK YOU!! AMAZING!!
hahahaha no worries man, I'm glad you enjoyed it... have fun with it and see you on the next video.... cheers for now 👍🎸🙏
I'm not sure how I've missed these Guitar Gods episodes. Somehow I stumbled on the Malmsteen one, who I never listened THAT much to, but who is obviously still a great inspiration even to people like me who don't listen to him a lot. Then I see you had done a Shawn Lane one...and a Frank Gambale one, Lukather, Vai. Time for some binge watching. Thanks for the endless inspiration, Alex. Not just from talking about these players, but also from your own playing and videos.
Thank you ever so much mate, I'm so pleased you're enjoying them. 👍🙏🎸
First song I heard was “the great explorers” back on Napster in 1998 😅, I was maybe 14… holy hell was that song insane! Loved the chord progression and melody! I was into Explorers Club at the time if anyone knows about that super group! Along with Planet X. You are awesome Alex!
Amazing as always mate, loved that track you put up the other day, fantastic, reminded me of 6:8 shaker by Frank!
Cheers Mate, yeah man I was listening to 6:8 around the time I wrote it.... I believe it was in 2005 or 6, how time flies. I'm glad you enjoyed it mate. All the best
Brilliant video! Frank deserves so much credit as a player and also an educator. It’s great to see frank getting this recognition. Well done Alex. Can not wait for the chat between the two of you.
Thank you very much mate yes I agree with you I'm looking forward to the chat to let me know if you have any questions you might want me to ask him. Cheers for now.
I’d really like to know what amps he will be using since cutting ties with DV mark. Thanks mate
@@joelcelima Hey Joe, yes that would be interesting, unfortunately I don't think I can ask that question because it involves other companies etc and there may be a more official announcement at some point... But yeah I'd like to know too... 😂🙏 Cheers mate.
@@AlexHutchingsMusic I figured that may have been the case. Thanks anyway brother. Guess I just gotta be patient haha
Monster sweeps mate!
Thank you mate 👍🙏🎸
Amazing Alex!!!! Have a nice weekend!!!
Thanks! You too mate. 👍
Hi. Fantastic videos! Full Shred Mode and the latest, which is number 7 in the Guitar Gods series. So enjoyable and inspiring.
In both videos you use the same guitar, Frank's signature model in glorious sunshine(y) colour😊
The photo of that guitar appeared on the cover of his book: IMPROVISATION MADE EASIER
(1997) which I still refer to!
Thanks Alex, another brilliant job done👏👏👏
Thank you mate really pleased you're enjoying the videos... and Yes I also have that book too, very cool. Thanks for watching. 👍🎸
I was a fan of fast shredder like PG, JP, YJM, and stop playing guitar at 23, now 8 years later I started to play guitar again due to quarantine in a pandemic. But my alternate picking is degraded as garbage... but FG inspired me to play with eco-picking and sweep picking, and now you also inspired me!
Hey mate that's awesome, I'm glad to hear you're back playing again... Thanks for watching, have fun with it and good luck. 👍🎸🙏
Hello , and Good afternoon Alex ! I will be saving this one in my hard drive for sure my friend. The best so far as Franks talents have blown me away! I tried doing his chop builder and failed miserably LOL 😂! He still has it going on that's for sure. With that being said, I was even more so completely blown away totally when I first saw and heard you on JTC! Wow ! What a day that was for us!!! You are the best man especially when you let your soul sing 🎶 out. It's then when you are unmatched by any other Artist! Today's feature was the Top I think so far for me, and thank-you Alex , really good feature!!! Have a great weekend, stay safe, and enjoy every day coming. Your friend, Dana
Thank you Dana, I'm really pleased you enjoyed this one.... Wishing you all the best 👍🎸🙏
That story about Frank watching you play was great haha. I don't know if I have the patience to change my picking technique like you did, but the results you got are obviously incredible. Makes me rethink the whole thing again...
Thank you mate, I'm glad you enjoyed that. Yeah was a nuts moment... 🤣 THanks for watching 👍🎸🙏
5:29 man... add 9 arps with such precision makes it seem even faster than it really is which is still pretty dang fast. But when you mute it just sound sick. more like violently ill. hahah
Thanks again for this great lesson ! This series of videos is fantastic, really great job !!! I'm working very hard the lick1, it's so difficult ! I love the Musikmesse's anecdote : "people are watching Franck Gambale watching me playing, and me watching them ..." 😂
Hahhah thanks mate, yes that was a fun day at Musikmesse I can't believe it was ten years ago... Really pleased you're enjoying the series.. More coming soon... maybe a sneak peek later today in fact I'll see how the day goes. All the. best
One of these guys needs to do a guitar gods clip on you!
Hahah that would be nice.. Thanks for watching brad 👍
Thanks Great lesson
My pleasure mate, glad you enjoyed it. 👍🎸🙏
Awesome as always! :)
THanks Elias. 👍🎸
Mr.H. This is just jaw dropplingly beyond amazing...I cant believe what I just saw and heard, but i did learn a bit from what I saw and heard so thats a good thing. I wish I got into Frank back in the day because he sounds like the guitarist I was looking for way back then. I loved Vai and Satch and Jimi was my biggest influence but I wanted something more jazzy but still rocky. I wish I got into Greg Howe too back then because I am a massive fan now and listen to his music all the time. Thank you for your amazing videos, they are so good, I cant wait for the next one. Till then Peace be with you brother Alex..🎸🎶🎸🎶🎸🎶🎸✨
THank you mate, really pleased you're still enjoying them and you've learnt something too.... Have a fab weekend mate and do check out The Great explorers and thinking out loud if nothing else... Oh and the Live album... 3 of my all time favs.... ;-)
@@AlexHutchingsMusic Oh I will definitely check them out. Thanks. Have a great weekend too 🎸✨🎸✨🎶🎸
Hey Alex!!!! Glad to see the finger healed. Love the lessons. Also love that you mentioned about the picking techniques. I have been exactly there and was wonder exactly what you were. I have been asking a lot of people about this and they never got what I meant, because I realized was having trouble with sweeping. I was thinking no way in hell can do this with my current technique. That little piece if information really confirmed what I had felt for years so thank you for sharing your story about short-term setback vs longterm gains! Take care of yourself! Hope to see live one day! I was Hooked ever since I saw your style and flavor on the Bangkok All Along The Watchtower music video trio!!! Keep it up!!!!
Hey Omar, thanks for watching I'm glad you're enjoying the series and found this one particularly useful... I hope to catch you at a show one day too... I'm looking forward to getting back out there.... All the best mate. 👍🙏🎸
@@AlexHutchingsMusic Gonna put on Aces High by Iron Maiden and practice it with the new pick holding technique 😜should be fun
it is so wild to just watch Frank play!
Yes indeed Robert, he's such a wonderful player.. Thx for watching.
So many great moments from Frank on record over the years. I think he has one of the best tones in Fusion. We can't forget the great REH videos and the lick that slurped LA!
Oh yeah man... Totally... The thing is I film about 40 minutes of shit for this as there was soooo much to say but in the end I just had to cut it down to it wasn't sooooo long.... THanks for watching mate. All the best
Just started learning 'My Little Viper' today. Brilliant sweeping.
Nice one Jacob, what a cool track that is... Have fun with it mate and thanks for watching. ;-)
thank you for sharing that hidden licks for so many years :D ha ha ha
Ha ha, in the thumbnail I thought you were holding a double neck Saber / Gambale signature. Great video as always.
HAhahaha Sneaky of me eh....? 👍 THanks for watching mate.
Thank you for this :)
My pleasure I’m glad you enjoyed it. 👍🙏
Just amazing. Speechless. keep the lessons coming please. and above all, the economy picking side of it. 😁
Thanks mate! Will do! All the best 👍
Really interesting video! thanks for sharing!
My pleasure Joey... All the best
Playing good ❤️🎸
I love these videos and this particular series. Any plans to tour the US when travel snd shows are available?
THanks mate, yeah man I'd love to come back and tour the U.S just have to see what happens when restrictions lift.... 🤞🤞
I want that FGM400 😂. great video
Thank you mate, yeah it's pretty nice. I'm sure they'll come up on Ebay once in a while... I'll let you know if I ever sell this one... All the best. 👍🎸🙏
Very good Touches a lot
Thank you mate... All the best 👍
Alex you are the MAN! I gotta ask you, where is video about Jimi Hendrix?😃
Thank you mate.... I had so many videos planned but unfortunately these videos were not too popular so I didn't get around to finishing the series unfortunately. I really hope you enjoyed the 9 episodes I did create though. All the very best 👍🎸🙏
HI Alex, glad my comment in the Shawn Lane was a good point of interest
Funny you mentioned the way you hold the pick and changed from "holding the pen" to "trigger"
I did the reverse path over the years and now I have exactly the problems you mentioned and the fast upward Gambale's sweeps become next to impossible
Will try to take your suggestion and try the "trigger" on my FGM100 DY (those guitars are really special)
Hope you won't stop at 10 guitarists
Keep up the awesome job!
Hey man, thanks so much for watching and again for your comments.... it's interesting to hear you had the same thing in reverse.... and also I'm jealous of your Desert Yellow, they are super cool..... All the best mate. 👍🎸🙏
@@AlexHutchingsMusic That DY has a long story
I played one when I was 14 and fell in love and swore that I would have got one ,one day
4 years ago I found a second hand one perfect in wood and paint but totally wrecked on hardware, so I picked it and restored it to "brand new", I finished to do it in late February this year...and I'm 43 now
A child dream came true
All the best to you too and thanks for replying
@@sacredgodslayer Wow that is a great story.. I'm so pleased you realised your childhood dream.. And in such a personal way.... Wishing you all the very best too. ;-)
Awesome!
THanks mate, Glad you think so! 👍
Love Frank. Actually if people haven't seen it, there is video you should check out "Frank Gambale & Bunny Brunel - Little Wing live" where he's playing in like a hotel foyer with folk milling about and elevators going up and down, but he plays the most soulful version of that Hendrix song ever. Enjoying your videos muchly!
Yeah man, I know that video, and I agree it's very cool indeed... I'm glad you're enjoying the videos mate... Cheers for now. 👍🎸🤘
i saw you and frank were hanging out along the street of Changkat in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.I believe frank was in Kuala Lumpur for a product demonstration
Thank you so much for this lesson, you explain it even better than frank does 😂 And about that frank interview, I would really love to hear frank tal i about his first guitarrists influences and his experience in the Mark Varne Project he did it with shawn lane and brett garsed !
Thanks mate, I'm glad you enjoyed it... regarding the question... yes it's already in my mind to ask about those projects too.
Hopefully we'll get around to it soon enough. All the best 👍
Your Blowing my mind Alex....incredible playing Skillz and an amazing series etc.... i know i defo need to alter my picking hand ,when i watch myself play back in vids my hand seems too move far too much..... im not sure if i have the commitment to change it at my old age.....altho i will prob revisit Economy picking..... P.S.... stop making it look sooooo easy ;)
Hey thanks Al... Glad you're enjoying the vids.... I don't think it's ever too late to experiment with things... give it a go mate and see where it takes you... u can always revert back....
All the best Al & catch up soon. 👍
Damn I didn’t know you were friend with Frank Gambale, you’re a very lucky dude :D
No wonder now why I could hear Frank influence in your playing ;) that’s really awesome. Frank can improvise the guitar in a piano or sax style, especially thanks to these crazy sweeping licks.
Thanks for sharing those few lick. But It would really have been awesome if you could have dig into those licks from 14h35 they are really close to Frank style and they are still a secret to me. Especially the 6 strings sweeping and chromatic licks that he uses a lot !
Hey thanks man, yeah been influenced for a long time by him... I do have some complete courses where i tech so much more with full tabs too if you're interested check out my online Store all the best and thanks for watching. jtcguitar.com/store/artist/alex-hutchings/
Don't sleep on MVP - Truth In Shredding with Gambale/Holdsworth. That album kicks some serious ass.
My deepest impression of fusion music has always been like the sound of the 80s, like Frank’s music, now young people don’t know it, haha
A few years later, I deeply studied the styles of Pat martino and Mike Stern, and finally realized that I can never become someone else, I can only be myself, which is quite true. Not easy, maybe this is life.
btw, I like his chromatic licks better than his signature 4th sweeping phrase. I personally think
Hey Steve thanks for watching... Yes I like his music too and agree one can only play like ones self but it's important to learn what you can from the greats. This series attempts to show people who the guys were that I learned from..... And yes his Chromatic stuff is fantastic too. Thanks for watching. ;-)
You mentioned changing technique - I'm 41 years old now and feel it's too late to change my technique. I've been playing 23 years. I feel like my picking technique is ingrained!
Hey mate, yeah I do understand, might be worth experimenting a little but only if you felt the need to of course. Hope you enjoy the licks.... All the best
@@AlexHutchingsMusic Brilliant licks as always. Thanks for the reply and great videos. Enjoy your weekend.
Love Frank, certainly my number 1. Sooo many good songs. A quick list of must listens that come to my mind are: Leave ozone alone, dawn over the nullabor, little charmer, Bondi beach, pathfinder, passages, Italian job, lunar rotation and the list goes on and on and on 😁🔥.
5:15 that picking hand so smoooooth. Do you use thin picks? Cheers Alex 👍
Hey man, yeah what a beast he is..... All those songs you mentioned are totally classic... but then again pretty much everything he's done is sooooo good. I use 88mm Jim dunlop plectrums Sharp. Thanks for watching. 👍🎸🙏
Amazing video Alex, congrats. Awsome your playing as well the tone. Whats the gear you used for this video?
THank you mate, I used a LAney Ironheart amp. All the very best 👍
Frank is my favourite guitar player, but after watching this video i think it should be titled Alex Hutchings total BADASS ! ;) You rock man !
Thank you so much mate, I'm really pleased you enjoyed it... All the best to ya.. 👍🎸🙏

@@AlexHutchingsMusic ok ❤️🇮🇳🙏
This one had to come, know how much you love and admire Frank🎸❤️ The live album is killer but I recall he did another live one with Cobham, I will dig it out. I still remember the Bath Guitar Festival gig where Shaun Baxter opened for Frank, that was a ripping experience! Loving the guitars too, I recognise the pink FGM but what is the amber one, is it a FGM or a standard S Series! Love the series my friend👍🏻🎸😀
Helloo mate, yes it was always on the cards... 😂🤣😂 Ooh the Cobham album sounds intriguing.... You know I have a really amazing story about that very day at the Bass Qatar festival I recorded me talking about it but the video was getting too long I'll have to share it another time I never realised you were there that night. It was the first time I ever saw him.... Have a great weekend mate and catch up soon .....
@@AlexHutchingsMusic I’ll dig it out! Btw I loved Thinking Out Loud as it appealed to my love of soul jazz, and featured one of my top three musical idols, the irrepressible force of soulful nature that is Brian Auger! And it also featured the timeless Alphonso Johnson, what an album! Yes that Bath gig was stellar and big props to the incredible Shaun Baxter too🤘🏻🎸😊
