Hey, guys, Van is alive and well and is still performing and recording. I think my favorite Van Morrison song is "Into The Mystic" (1970); it's worth a listen.
Still recording - some of his best work has been recently - I’ve been a Vanatic for many years now & he’s one of the very few that has kept it real, check out his last two albums - man!! Truth bombs everywhere - Van knows we are in a spiritual war with the rulers/psycho’s of this world - God bless Van for speaking out
Jennifer Whitaker ... Thst seems to have happened to many people ... Especially since Van decided to stop touring when the audiences shouted down his newest stuff, demanding Brown Eyed Girl. He got really pissed & told them all off. Then stopped touring the states.
The last waltz is my fav version. And he just walks off the stage at end. Robbie Robertson is smiling the whole time during the performance. Then he walks off and he’s perplexed. Hahaha. That’s just how Van is. Never liked celebrity or interviews or attention. Just wanted to make songs. Respect that.
Releasing music right until today - that's right; don't just get stuck in the early songs - the quality never went away so I wouldn't just listen to I Want to Hold Your Hand & songs recorded around that time (using the Beatles as an example) and think that was the best - for Van it's songs from the 2020s,2010s,2000s,1990s (you get my drift...).
This is my “Tupelo Honey” story…my wife’s father had died back in 2016. My wife and I were going here/there. Had to get things done. Inform people. My wife was holding up as the super trooper she is. While we were running around on the H1 (Oahu, HI)…”Tupelo Honey” came on and as I kept driving…I noticed my wife was in tears and said “I lost my dad”. I immediately pulled over held my wife and we just cried together. During that moment that I kept thinking how strong my wife was holding up…I realized my wife was just a human being and that we all have the right to be fragile…even if just for a moment…and that it would all be OK. Every time this song comes on my playlist…I think back to this day. Think bout my wife. I then get teary eyed. I love “Tupelo Honey” so very much. Thank you Asia & BJ for reacting to it…and I don’t know who else would not have a genuine reaction to this song like you 2 did. It is a great song.
Uh, Van Morrison is still alive. He released his 42nd album in 2021 and his songs were used extensively in Kenneth Branagh's 2021 film "Belfast." One of the most amazing studio albums you will ever hear is 1968's "Astral Weeks" by Van Morrison. In particular, you will groove to "The Way Young Lovers Do", "Beside You", "Sweet Thing", "Madame George" and the title song "Astral Weeks".
“Tupelo Honey” is an unreserved typically mystic take on the domestic happiness Morrison had found since he’d married his wife Janet. They’d met during his time with the Irish R&B band Them. She’d already been his muse for several of Morrison’s earlier songs. Tupelo honey is honey made from the sweet flowers of the tupelo tree, which grows abundantly in swampy areas of the Southern United States. Check out Caravan by Van

One of the most beautiful songs. It sends you to another place and you feel the love and intensity but in a quiet, peaceful way. I love seeing you two totally get it ♥️
Tupelo Honey. Into the Mystic and Have I Told you lately that I Love You are three gems and my favorites from Van but he has such a great music catalog and he's one artist you can listen to from recording to recording with such diverse music and all of it great. He just has that soulful voice and that vibe.
It wasn't until recently that I found out Have I Told You Lately was written by van Morrison as a prayer to our Lord. I've always loved that song and immediately added it to the songs I would want played at my memorial service when I pass away from this earth
Go on a Van Morrison binge. For like a month. He is one of the most prolific song writers of the last 50 years. Some of my faves, Into the Mystic, Fuill Force Gale, Days Like This, The Healing Has Begun, I Will Sing .... No one writes love songs like Van. My wife and I just celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary and next St. Patrick's Day will be the 50th of our first date. And Van has been our soundtrack the whole way.
I used to write off Van because I was so tired of hearing Brown Eyed Girl on the radio, then I dove into him a bit and listened to the Astral Weeks album and it blew my mind. What an album and what a musician. There is way more to his catalogue and what they play on the radio.
I love the way y’all feeling the song! Y’all get it. My wife and I have been married 33 years & our song is Van’s “Moondance.” I love the way she looks in my eyes when Moondance plays. We got to see him perform at the Beale Street Music Festival back in April. Blessings and love ❤️
YESSS, Van The man, Morrison is Awesome 👍. His song " Have I told you Lately" was the song my hubby & I Danced to at our wedding 27 years ago. He is still with us today, love him. Love you guys, keep up the fantastic work! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
This was the song we danced to 8 years ago. Second wedding. He is the only loyal true relationship I’ve ever had. I walked down the aisle to “Someone Like You”. We were both 49 and it just fit so well ❤️
Agreed! Van has been pleasing my soul for decades. Seen him live 3 times and his back catalogue of great songs is amazing! My favourite is "Into the Mystic"
When my daughter was born I stayed home for the first couple of days with she and my wife. I went to work . I came into the house. My wife was there holding her. I walked in and over to the stereo and put this song on , held her my arms . When the refrain “ she’s an angel “ came on my wife just BURST into tears and said she IS an angel !” And I started crying . Because she was an angel and she still is an angel . It always be her song and I still cry when I hear it.
Van Morrison the Irish singer/songwriter has been doing it since 1965 when he was only 19 years old with his first Band "Them." they wrote and recorded their first hit song "Gloria," that has been covered by other Bands and artists over the last 5 decades. Everyone knows him for his hit song "Brown Eyed Girl," but he has so many more wonderful songs, like the one you are reacting to here. So much soul in this man.
I’ve always made mixed tapes and cds for people. Was even a deejay in high school. I love music but sharing it with someone and seeing them fall in love with it is just amazing. Why I loved watching asias face during this.
I love watching you guys experience the genius of Van Morrison, his voice and his delivery has always hit me just like that too... sweet as Tupelo Honey... and Asia' s smile... love it, thumbs up!
Your next love song should be " crazy love" by Van. He has a deep love for the Delta blues though he's from Ireland. He does a great tune with John Lee Hooker. He not only wrote, sang, he played piano, sax, harp, and some guitar. This is him playing sax on this tune.
I grew up listening to Van the Man. I lost my dad 5 years ago, but every time I hear a song of his, it brings back so many memories of my Dad. Listening to the lyrics of his songs still explains a lot to me to this day about him. Try listening to Hymns to the Silence. ❤️ Keep on keeping on Van! Most people know him for Brown eyed girl. But Van was and is still today so much more. He is an amazing artist and has always so graciously shared his talents with us.
The reason that Van Morrison is such a brilliant composer is that he actually plays nearly every single instrument on the planet. And he plays them all amazingly well. His music is full, dynamic, and so complex for sometimes such a simple sound. He is magnificent.
Van the Man not only has an extensive catalog of his own, but has so much blues, soul, jazz, and rock music of his influences cataloged in his head. He draws on this every time he writes or performs.
You two are prefect examples of what Van Morrison does to mature adults. You get it,you feel it and enjoy it for where it took you during the few mins it played.
Recently seen van Morrison here in liverpool uk, he was amazing still sings brilliantly and plays saxophone superbly well, he’s a fantastic singer songwriter and musician if you get the chance go see him you’ll be glad you did, not many of these legends still around, sadly we are losing them as each year passes. Thank you van for all the great music ✌️
Please Note Van Morrison's albums, Astral Weeks & Moondance should be listened to start to finish in their entirety & often! Tupelo Honey & Into the Mystic are my two favorite songs
there were two Morrisons making music in this era - Van Morrison and Jim Morrison. Jim Morrison was lead singer of The Doors (and died very early) and Van Morrison...this song belongs to Van and as far as I know he is still alive.
Tupelo honey is a real thing. It’s the sweetest honey I’ve ever tasted. More than that it has a flavor that’s like no other. It only grows in certain places in Georgia. But be careful I bought some online year’s back an it was fake , so make sure you get the real thing. Its gathered from the side of cliffs an is difficult to harvest. It really is very special.
Not only does he have a huge body of work that most people in the U.S. have never even heard, but he released an album this year called What's It Gonna Take? And is on tour currently in the U,S. Total of recordings: Compilation Albums: 9, Live Albums: 7, Singles 80, Studio Albums: 43. He is a master songwriter!
You could tell the lady was feeling Vans vibe... It does something to your whole soul this tune. Edit-- My man's was fully immersed by the end too! Respect to y'all from Ireland 🇮🇪

I'm sure it's our love for music that brought us here but watching you two keeping it real and showing your love towards each other keeps us coming back. Aloha you two - keep um coming!
He has become a cranky old Irish folksinger (he agrees with Eric Clapton that there was no need for the Covid 19 vaccinations). I’ve loved his music since the 60s, but I certainly wouldn’t listen to any health advice from him. ✌🏻🍀
@@charlessarver8350 It is a noro-virus-they mutate & become resistant to the vaccines, just like influenza. Some of us are naturally more resistant, but for those that are vulnerable, it’s a lifesaver. I don’t take medical advice from those unqualified to give it, no matter how much I appreciate their music.
@@shelleysparks210 yeah yeah yeah that's why Biden and company couldn't wait to take credit for the vaccine now suddenly their all about it's Trumps vaccine again🤣🤣🤣
Van at his best is a solid groove that can take you up and put your right there where he is. The depth of his love, his passions, his brilliance goes as far deep as anyone.
"Van The Man" 🙂🎙 Caravan Moondance Wavelength Into The Mystic And It Stoned Me & so many more... a unique singer with a very unique voice. Van is still alive and singing 🙂👍
The version of Caravan in the Last Waltz with the Band is epic. Van is drunk as heck and gets last minute stage fright and had to be pushed onto the stage. He then proceeds to give one of the most iconic and primal versions of the song ever. By the end he's doing straight up scat singing replete with leg kicks. The guys in the Band are looking at him awe struck like "I cannot believe what I am seeing!" Lol.
Loved your reaction to this classic song. I've been on a musical odyssey to Van's extensive catalog for 25 years! One of my all-time favorite Morrison songs is from this very album, it's called YOU'RE MY WOMAN...check it out . 😉
This has been the ring tone for years when my wife calls. She is a angel of the first degree, like it was written for her. love it when she calls and someone hears it and i get to tell them how wonderful she is.
Since the late 60s Van has been playing the sax, guitar, singing and drinking at the bar with the likes of Jim Morrison and others in legendary fashion. His unique timing and heavy Irish leaning pitch, seems like the blueprint for folk music, although he is mostly a blues artist.
Sounds like Church. I am not a religious person, but every Sunday I worship music by playing lots of old soul classics from Aretha, Ray Charles, Sam Cooke, Gladys Knight and the Pips, and Bill Withers. These are some of MY prophets of glory.
Ok. Got say this definitively. Asia and BJ: Van Morrison and Jim Morrison of the Doors are two different people making entirely different music. Not dissing, just saying. This is a great reaction, btw. I can tell how this song is hitting Asia without her saying a word. Beautiful stuff.
Now that you have heard the band Montrose play 'Bad Motor Scooter,' you might find it interesting to learn that guitarist Ronnie Montrose plays on this song. It was recorded way back when Ronnie was a studio session musician, long before "Montrose" formed.
Guess what ! He's still alive. I have been a fan since the late 60s. I have over 30 of his albums and this song gets me every time. Like it came from his very heart and soul
Another great British blue eyed soul man to try is Georgie Fame who done some sessions with Van over the years. I suggest 'Sitting In The Park' and the TV studio 1967 video so you can see why he was considered a heart throb back in the day. Americans will remember the Billy Stewart version which is also good, but Georgie adds a bit more jazzy soul in my opinion.
Hey, guys, Van is alive and well and is still performing and recording. I think my favorite Van Morrison song is "Into The Mystic" (1970); it's worth a listen.

Total of recordings: Compilation Albums: 9, Live Albums: 7, Singles 80, Studio Albums: 43. He is a master songwriter!
thank you!
You could tell the lady was feeling Vans vibe... It does something to your whole soul this tune.
Edit-- My man's was fully immersed by the end too! Respect to y'all from Ireland 🇮🇪
Into the Mystic...it's one of my favorites by Van Morrison.
He hasn’t passed away. He’s still around. He’s 77.
I love to see Asia's smile get as big as it did here...that's proof of Van's style and vocals and legitimacy! Thanks for the great channel!
Our pleasure!
Agree there mate. Lovely smile. 👍🇬🇧.
Wife here..One of my FAVORITE Van Morrison songs..My Husband and I used to slow dance to this song..(when first married)..Such a vibe Ms.Asia!!!..So AWESOME to see you 2 enjoying this...Sooo mellow !!!...He does sing from his soul..Thanks for the perspective as always..(Footsie)..U2 are hilarious 😄!!!

You can’t stop Van from touching your soul. One of all the all time greats
You just can’t go wrong with Van Morrison, anything and everything is great.
I'm sure it's our love for music that brought us here but watching you two keeping it real and showing your love towards each other keeps us coming back. Aloha you two - keep um coming!
Van Morrisonson is a live and well folks!
Van Morrison is still with us. He's now 77 years old.
He has become a cranky old Irish folksinger (he agrees with Eric Clapton that there was no need for the Covid 19 vaccinations). I’ve loved his music since the 60s, but I certainly wouldn’t listen to any health advice from him. ✌🏻🍀
Cool. Glad he’s still kickin and has his head in the right place.
@@shelleysparks210 when you have people having taken up to 8 boosters and still catching it and dying I'd say they were right.
I enjoy you guy sooo much. Thanks for the pick me up. Van was me and my father’s favorite 🥲 RIP
"Astral Weeks" & "Madame George".
Van at his best is a solid groove that can take you up and put your right there where he is. The depth of his love, his passions, his brilliance goes as far deep as anyone.
Nailin it here .
Van's inventory is as deep as it is soulful ...lover of truth .
I never realized until recently that he’s talking about personal freedom and independence- I thought for years that he was singing about a woman
Por que no los dos?
Oh my mama told me, There'll be days like this - VAN MORRISON
right after The Shirelles and Sam Cooke (Mama Said) lol
Love the smile on the young ladies face.
Such a cool tune. Get a load more of Van in your ears guys 🇬🇧👍👍👍👍.
"Van The Man" 🙂🎙
Caravan
Moondance
Wavelength
Into The Mystic
And It Stoned Me
& so many more... a unique singer with a very unique voice.
Rock on!
Irish blues, baby!!! Van is the man. Been doing this since the 60's. Can't say you don't like this stuff. So soulful!!
He`s British.
This has been the ring tone for years when my wife calls. She is a angel of the first degree, like it was written for her. love it when she calls and someone hears it and i get to tell them how wonderful she is.
There's an old live version of this song featuring a solo by Pee-Wee Ellis. You'd love it.
Them & The Doors did tour together in the US so the two Morrison's did meet & apparently Jim was influenced by Van's stage presence.
Rainy day music, And we are thankful for the rain here. Nobody like Van the Man. What a vocalist. Ha!! Footsie! Great reaction! Thanks!
Now that you have heard the band Montrose play 'Bad Motor Scooter,' you might find it interesting to learn that guitarist Ronnie Montrose plays on this song. It was recorded way back when Ronnie was a studio session musician, long before "Montrose" formed.
I listen to Van still, most days. SO many hits, love songs. "Crazy Love" is probably my favorite, but this one and too many more to listen to.
Keep up the good work, you two. We live in a crazy world right now, and you're helping hold it all together. Thanks for being a positive force.
Great artist, unique voice! I always loved”Moondance” great song
Van Morrison is still today an amazing performer, records, I love this song 💕 one of my favorite of Van's is Whenever God shine's His light on me.
Thats why they call him Van "The Man". So many great songs!
This was the best era in music history and brings back to memories of growing up in the 70s.
He is Alive and recording amazing amazing songs. Check out his live performance of CARAVAN from years back
