My husband and I have loved Van Morrison since we were very young!! A special song for us is Brown Eyed Girl. He has blue eyes and I have dark brown. So he'd call me his brown eyed girl. When we are sad or worried we listen to Hymns for the Silence. Thanks Mr Morrison for years of love, joy and peace which we have found together in your music!!
@@jameswiglesworth5004 He lived here for years. Still has a house in Dublin. Spent 20 odd years married to a Dublin woman. And toured all over the island in the 1960s when his career started. Including Tipperary. Where he returned in 1990 and 1991 to play the Feile festival.
This is my “Tupelo Honey” story…my wife’s father had died back in 2016. My wife and I were going here/there. Had to get things done. Inform people. My wife was holding up as the super trooper she is. While we were running around on the H1 (Oahu, HI)…”Tupelo Honey” came on and as I kept driving…I noticed my wife was in tears and said “I lost my dad”. I immediately pulled over held my wife and we just cried together. During that moment that I kept thinking how strong my wife was holding up…I realized my wife was just a human being and that we all have the right to be fragile…even if just for a moment…and that it would all be OK. Every time this song comes on my playlist…I think back to this day. Think bout my wife. I then get teary eyed. I love “Tupelo Honey” so very much. Love this song because of how it makes me feel. Appreciate you guys giving this an ear. All-time favorite song of mine. Thanks guys 💜🤙🏽

Jay: as an older woman I just want to remind you that your sweet wife most likely would like to hear some sugar from you when you hear these touching, beautiful songs. Or a sweet kiss would go a long way too! (just remembering when I was a young wife with children depending on me 24/7- some sweet words of love can really be important)
You guys are doing great on picking through his songs. Into the Mystic, Brown Eyed Girl, Moondance and now Tupelo Honey. Each one of those are so great. They take you into another place and time. The voice and the music.

I have had a copy of this album, in many formats, since 1970. I will probably be buried with it. It has helped me through so many heartaches and happy times.
I recommend "Wild Night" for your next Van Morrison song. It's one of his more rocking songs. "Domino" is anther one that you should hear at some point.
Just to provide some info - Tupelo honey is the sweetest honey because it has the highest fructose to glucose ratio. It is also the most expensive honey which is harvested by bees from the blossoms of the Tupelo sour gum tree.

'Bright side of the road' is a great upbeat tune by Van as a suggestion, as well as his most popular 'Have I told you lately. According to an interview, you'll never guess who he wrote it about. Keep up the great reactions.
This is not 'just' a beautiful love song. The way the lyrics are delivered, accompanied by the perfect music, this sounds so respectful. Van is The Man!
This song is my favorite Van song, and that is saying something because his catalog is so deep and amazing. He is a poet and a soul singer. Amaze balls!
There aren't enough words to describe how much I love this song. Van Morrison is known as the Belfast Cowboy. He has a smooth, soulful delivery that just gets to you, no matter what he's singing. Not only is his voice perfect for this song, but the instrumentation is equally nice. Just one of those great productions that are simple, but moving.
This is wonderful. I love the soul and the sweetness together. When I need to hear Van I often play "Crazy Love." It is my favorite. It can make me sad or happy; the emotion is palpable. The production is simply orchestrated, but the bass line is killer.
I've said it before, but Van Morrison is a world treasure. I don't think I've ever heard a bad VM song. Others to check out: my absolute favorite is St. Dominic's Preview. Others: Jackie Wilson Said, Cleaning Windows (his funkiest song!), Domino, Have I Told You Lately, And It Stoned Me, Wild Night, and Whenever God Shines His Light. It's a probably one of the best love songs ever recorded. His voice is so expressive and his vocal delivery hypnotic and the music perfection. No one's like him!
Adjectives like luxurious, opulent and majestic describe this song. Unlike some vocalists who waste no opportunity to show off their pipes, Van Morrison has always utilized his fabulous voice simply as just another instrument in the composition. Each as important as the next.
Yes Van The Man I believe this is his first album, with the song Brown eyed girl on it. I played this and played this and played this, this is my introduction to the great Van Morrison

The Belfast Cowboy!!! Van the Man's been a favorite since the late 60's/early 70's for me. I grew up listening to him. The movie "Belfast" soundtrack is almost totally Van's songs. Sometimes, it was hard to keep from singing along during the movie. I was so pleased Kenneth Branagh chose his music.
