An Irishman with a Southern Soul, a Bard of days old, singing of life...sweet life, with all its Pain, Love and Glory..for there is solace in Van the Man's sweet songs..making the load of the journey a little lighter!
My husband and my song is "Crazy Love" by Van Morrison... In this era of music, love songs were LOVE SONGS and the are the epitome of romance... something every girl wants in their life :) It stirs and hugs your soul. I am so glad the younger generations are experiencing this amazing music.
In this song Van is referring to the voice of Elvis Presley....Tupelo Honey. I used to watch Van and his band in the Maritime Club and Sammy Houston's Jazz Club in Belfast in the early 60s. A great time to live.
Couldn't have asked for anyone better to have reacted to this song. My dad got me hooked on Van a long time ago. There's no one better at what he does. My youngest daughter is even named after one of his songs. I love this guy. You don't have a heart if you don't feel his music pulling upon it.
He plays the sax too and each note is hand-selected and crafted with tender fingers weathered by deacades of imagination and experiece moving people. I saw him this year and it's magical.
Love love love Van Morrison. I would play his albums all the time during cleaning day. My kids and I would always end up dancing and singing together. I have beautiful fond memories of his music. Thank you for the precious memories….
I'm not religious by any means but bless you dear ,because you have just entered the world of one of the best musical artists on this earth. Go deep , real deep on this guy !
I'm sorry you're not religious because Jesus is coming soon and you're going to be on your knees asking for forgiveness you better rethink your thoughts and your love for God
Van the Man is a transcendent experience EVERYTIME you listen to him, the aura of his lyrics never gets old. Been a fan since he was in the band "Them" in the 1960's.
If you liked Tupelo Honey by Van you should listen to "Into The Mystic": by him as well, a song that always takes me too a special place..I enjoy your videos...Peace, Will
You liked the sax, Van is a brilliant sax arranger and plays himself. He is still killing with great, romantic songs. And has created some of the most groove heavy rock songs you will ever hear.
That was a tremendous gift of the power of the heart and soul in a Life’s True Story of such poignant love, and Van’s wondrously gorgeous Tupelo Honey artistic masterpiece!!! Thank you so much to all for the sharing 🌹💐
The live shows from Van and the band will show you how tight his band was, everyone stands out as top notch. Tight rhythm section with the most energetic bass player I've heard, thumps every song. Caladonia orchestra can play.
There's a scene in "Friends" where they're discussing the most romantic song, Ross' pick is 'Tupelo Honey'. Van is a spiritual guy and often a romantic one, he's written some gorgeous love songs such as 'Someone Like You', 'Have I Told You Lately', 'Crazy Love', 'The Way Young Lovers Do', 'Warm Love' and 'Into the Mystic' among others. My favorite album of his is "No Guru, No Method, No Teacher" from 1987. Everyone has their favorite, "Astral Weeks" gets a lot of love but that's an earlier one.
Just discovered this song and really enjoyed listening to it with you. You're right when you said there are so many notes in this songs. I mean, the playing on this song is just astounding: the sax and duelling guitars in the instrumental break, the whole band coming in for the third chorus, the 'lay me down' section, she's all right with me and the epic final chorus with the band coming in with the drums, not to mention Van's vocals, of course. A perfect musical blend. I'm listening to it time and time again and it is just genius.
I like your pure and open reaction...i think you discovered the one and only van the man..the man who connects us with the love and the magic in life...his whole carrière with more than 400 songs is out of this world...i suggest you listen to listen to the Lion, angeliou, it's alle in the game, and the healing has begun, foreign window, etc etc
I am a huge Van fan. I’ve been listening to him since high school. Over the last 5+ years I’ve rekindled my playing of his songs. Into the Mystic is great, but you must hear as much of his music as you can. You’ll never be the same. Van the Man.
I love how excited you get over the sweet little nuances he has in his voice! His was one of the first voices I fell in love with, as smooth and unique as any voice I’d ever heard. I think you’d love his song “Sweet Thing”, another of my favorite artists covered it (Hozier) and it’s just beautiful!
Van was musical treasure . Thank you for reminding me there are so many great songs out there we have forgotten in these horrible times we are in . There is hope
I love the drums on this song. Nothing crazy, but the dynamics are just so expressive and really help drive the song home for me. They're played by Connie Kay who was the drummer for the Modern Jazz Quartet and played with a bunch of top jazz players like Miles Davis, Bill Evans, Chet Baker etc.
Van Morrison was a genius at the construction of song lyrics. A bluesman that has written some of the most meaningful lyrics in rock and roll. He is a legend. He is in both the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame as well as the Songwriters Hall Of Fame, and rightly so.
this was my parents wedding song, married 31 years until my dad passed away at 52. They were highschool sweethearts and i dance with my mom to this song every year on their anniversary, it's hard to not break down but this song means so much to my mom. Great reaction, you aren't alone in feeling emotion from this song.
Another lovely reaction! Van is a genius. He bounded across musical genres as easily as he plays multiple instruments. Van is a musical journey unto himself. So much to listen to and soooo much to enjoy!
grew up listening to New York City AM radio. This was among the first songs I heard on WNEW-FM. Think of it as my first "grown up" song. Just beautiful
As someone turning 80 next month who has loved Van, the Band and others of that time it’s inspiring to hear people of your generation fully appreciate these genius artists. You inspire me! Please listen to a song called “Surely “ by Black Dub”.
I love watching you enjoy these older musicians. How much you appreciate music ... It's awesome. This is how I know someone knows their music.. By the look and reaction to every instrument and vocals characteristics.
I agree with you this is probably the most romantic love song ever written. I think that Van's voice makes it so. His voice is without a doubt the most expressive singer of his generation, it has so much feeling and soul. His musical arrangement is also fantastic. Been listening to it since it first came out and it still moves me. Many more great songs from Van to react to from "Into The Mystic", "Wild Night", and "Hymns to the Silence".
Just wanted to say I grew up with the music you are sharing - you give them such an iinsight that I never had at the time. Thank you. I am 73- love your channel.
Men with insight, men in granite Knights in armor bent on chivalry. Beautiful harmonious simplicity. There are 4 chords to this song out of Bb Major, the progression I iii IV I, I iii IV V, I iii IV I, I iii IV I. Over and over, all lead and solos out of Bb major. Just like honey, baby, from the bee (She's an Angel.)
Wow! What a amazingly beautiful posting. All-time linkup of such a lovingly poignant romantic treasure of a story with such a gorgeously linked dedication of the masterful artistry of Van and Tupelo Honey🌹💐!!! Thank you for the wonderful share
Yep, no more romantic song than this. One of the most beautifully produced and arranged songs ever. Seeing this live was one of the greatest highlights of my concert experiences. Try MOONDANCE, also a love song standard, covered by many. Saint Dominic's Preview, Wild Night, Call Me Up IN Dreamland, Blue Money, etc etc etc. On of the GREATS and sill going strong
I absolutely love this! I agree this song is amazing- Van Morrison is one of the all time greatest singer/songwriters ever. Into the Mystic is also a great listen. I love your reaction.
I love the song. Its lyrics, vocals and instruments take my soul to a perfect world every time I hear it . I also want you to know that when you speak its as "Sweet as Tupelo Honey" also. I would turn to your videos just to hear you speaking. You give me a " Peaceful Easy Feeling" every time I watch you. Thank You for taking your time for all of us Subscribers. ✌️
Don't be afraid to dive deep into the Van Morrison catalogue!! He also sang with a group called Them and they had a huge hit with Gloria!! And I second your thought of thanking Patrick!!! Well done, Patrick!!!!!!!!!
I'm from NY and moved to Colorado where I could actually afford to see Vsn Morrison. This guy is 100% music, no frills. Once he's on, it's music, no niceties, but every second was Magical! So happy you enjoyed this one. Momma told me there'll be days like this and Brown-eyed girl are also some of my favorites.
One of my FAVORITES of all time. I have the LP, CD, Cassette and I play the song all the time! Crazy Love, in the Mystic.... lots of songs you should hear. Tupelo Honey comes from the Nyssa ogeche tree that only grows in a couple of places down south. Van was ALWAYS on our record players back when I was in college- I'm an old guy!
One of his best songs that never gets reacted to is "Sweet Thing" I would definitely suggest that song "Crazy Love" or "Bright Side of The Road" for something upbeat
The recommendations have been spot on. From Into the Mystic, Moondance, and as Andrew mentioned, Sweet Thing and Astral Weeks, plus the others. I have looked all over the net for a music reaction to Sweet Thing but only found several musicians and small orchestras playing it. Please, be the first. Sweet Thing will be your number one played song on that Love compilation you are making. It was Van's 2nd studio album. He was 23 years old, and it was 1968. Astral Weeks (the album) would become, arguably, the very core of his next 4 albums, and his overall sound. He has tried many genres, with over 42 studio albums, multiple compilations, duets and soundtrack appearances. I was 24 when a friend forced me to listen to it. I'd heard Them many times but knew only Van's name. My friend told me to listen to the album as much as I could; that it would grow on me more and more with each listen. We were post-punk, alternative guys back then, and I thought he was crazy after my first listen, but I'm open-minded, and I listened to it again, and again...that was 37 years ago. I'll never stop. I worked in the music business for 35 years, heard thousands and thousands of albums and songs (and I'd been buying music since I was 11, and still do, and always will). I don't personally believe in having a #1 song or album for myself, but I do have favorites. My go-to albums are from Marvin Gaye's - What's Going On, to Nick Drake's albums (any of his amazing 3, as he died at 26), and Van's - Astral Weeks. There's another 1000 here, but these are top for me. And I still listen to/and buy new music but my roots are in bands/Artists like The Velvet Underground, The Stooges, James Brown, Curtis Mayfield, Roland Kirk, The Replacements, Hüsker Dü, Nina Simone, Townes Van Zandt, Hank Williams Sr. and Hank 111 (no Jr. Ever), Bob Dylan, Charlie Parker, Neil Young, Public Enemy, John Coltrane, The Beastie Boys, Dinosaur Jr, Frank Zappa, Frank Sinatra...enough,; I'm sorry. I haven't even scratched the surface. Anyway, my friend forcing the Album, Asral Weeks, on me was one of the best things anybody ever did for me. I wouldnt/couldn't force you to listen but hopefully intrigued you enough to at least try Sweet Thing!
i didn't know this song. it made me so sad. i was secretly in love with my best friend when i was 15. i know he was too, but unfortunately a friend of him told me years later, when it was too late. i had to throw my loveletter into his grave, he died with 22 on cancer - half a year after it was diagnosed. when he died we were still friends. life is to short to don't speak out our feelings. R.I.P. Thomas you will always be with us
Awe maaaaannnn, just about lost it from your intro. My buddy has a couple of days remaining on this earth (eff-u cancer), and the pain his wife is going through is so visceral, that he just wants her to not suffer. OMG. Yesterday, we had a video conference with him and all his coworkers, so he could say goodbye because they too are his family. It was so sweet, so classy, and so him. I'll dedicate this to Becky and Jose! 😭
@@deborahbryan3639 Thank you. He passed this afternoon 30 min before I was going to stop by with a few other friends. He was surrounded by his wife and two daughters and no longer in pain. I don't hate many things, if any at all, but my hatred/disdain for cancer is excessive. Take care and be safe out there. ❤💔
This is an old song of Van Morrison. I discovered it as a teenager in the 70's. Always been a favourite. I've loved Van Morrison ever since. His voice is amazing. His rendition of Comfortable Numb from The Wall Live in Berlin is spectacular.
I dont know how I ended up here but glad I stayed. This is one of my favorite songs and watching your reaction was so pure and sincere that it bought me out of a slump I've been in. I don't know you personally but absolutely love what you're about. We must protect you at all costs.
lm very proud of Sir Van Morrison (van the man) He grew up a mile from my home here in Belfast ,Northern Ireland ...
When he heard this, Bod Dylan said Tupelo Honey had always existed, and that Van "was merely the vessel and the Earthly vehicle for it".
I feel thats true for some of the great music, I just said the same thing the other day, the magic of synchronicity.
Van's .music is really not of this world
Indeed Sir
I suggest you give Van Morrison's "Into the Mystic" a listen. Absolutely one of his best.
Into the mystic still gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.
Into the Mystic has been a fav of mine my entire life but it took on a whole new meaning for me after my wife of 40 yrs past last summer.
ok into the mystic is insane, but Madame George takes the cake.
Agreed..much more romantic as a love song.
AMAZING song!
An Irishman with a Southern Soul, a Bard of days old, singing of life...sweet life, with all its Pain, Love and Glory..for there is solace in Van the Man's sweet songs..making the load of the journey a little lighter!
Van Morrison is known as the "Musicians' Musician" because he is so talented.
My husband and my song is "Crazy Love" by Van Morrison...
In this era of music, love songs were LOVE SONGS and the are the epitome of romance... something every girl wants in their life :) It stirs and hugs your soul.
I am so glad the younger generations are experiencing this amazing music.
Van The Man! .. When he performs live, he can go deep and draw from a different place.. like no one else I've seen.
Van Morrison can easily be classified as the GOAT of modern music. His talent and unrelenting dedication to his craft is truly unparalleled.
If a man wrote a song like this for me, well…………. Oh my. I would know I was truly and completely loved. Thanks Van!
At age 16 Van was recognised as one of the best jazz saxophone players in Ireland. This explains his unique vocal style.
Van Morrison is truly one of the most under appreciated artists IMO!
In this song Van is referring to the voice of Elvis Presley....Tupelo Honey. I used to watch Van and his band in the Maritime Club and Sammy Houston's Jazz Club in Belfast in the early 60s. A great time to live.
One of the best love songs ever written!
one of the greatest songwriters ever!
Couldn't have asked for anyone better to have reacted to this song. My dad got me hooked on Van a long time ago. There's no one better at what he does. My youngest daughter is even named after one of his songs. I love this guy. You don't have a heart if you don't feel his music pulling upon it.
Don't forget brown eyed girl
Beautiful song! Been married 47 years, this is how I feel about my 💕

There's no one like Van. I agree with Rick P, "Into the Mystic next!"
YES! YES! YES! 👍💯
Yes please do “into the mystic”
Yes Into the Mystic is one of my all time fave songs. Also jackie Wilson said
Moondance too! Love all van the man's music. Melissa Ward here
One of our time's great poets
Tupelo Honey, Into the Mystic, Bright Side of the Road ........... amazing library
He plays the sax too and each note is hand-selected and crafted with tender fingers weathered by deacades of imagination and experiece moving people. I saw him this year and it's magical.
Van the Man. His voice is like a musical jazz instrument. Thanks spreading awareness.
Love love love Van Morrison. I would play his albums all the time during cleaning day. My kids and I would always end up dancing and singing together. I have beautiful fond memories of his music. Thank you for the precious memories….
It doesn't need many words , only the right ones when a man feel inside....She is the one , his Angel .
Van nailed it in this song
I'm not religious by any means but bless you dear ,because you have just entered the world of one of the best musical artists on this earth. Go deep , real deep on this guy !
I'm sorry you're not religious because Jesus is coming soon and you're going to be on your knees asking for forgiveness you better rethink your thoughts and your love for God
So many brilliant songs, Into the Mystic, crazy Love.....
Van the Man is a transcendent experience EVERYTIME you listen to him, the aura of his lyrics never gets old. Been a fan since he was in the band "Them" in the 1960's.
“I’ll Be Your Lover , too” Van Morrison. You could react to Van for 6 months straight. His catalog is huge!
I agree!! "I'll Be Your Lover, too" sung at the end of Proof of Life is one of the most beautiful finishes to any movie I have ever seen.
Connie Kay on drums.
Great American black jazz drummer born in 1925
Connie is legendary
Van was blessed to have him on drums
If you liked Tupelo Honey by Van you should listen to "Into The Mystic": by him as well, a song that always takes me too a special place..I enjoy your videos...Peace, Will
That sax tho. It was exactly what was required. Just enough. Soooooo good.
You liked the sax, Van is a brilliant sax arranger and plays himself. He is still killing with great, romantic songs. And has created some of the most groove heavy rock songs you will ever hear.
Van Morrison’s voice is audible chocolate, definitely give ‘steal my heart away’, ‘I’ll be your lover too’ and ‘beside you’ a listen . Van the man!
Listen to his "Someone like you" and you'll be moved to tears by it's beautiful melancholy tone.
Did you see her reaction video to that song about a week ago? I think you'll like it.
@@deborahbryan3639 Seems I missed it but I'm watching it now. Another Van fan!
Van has a deep catalog of great songs, enjoy your journey down this deep rabbit hole!
Van the man...what a great artist! 😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I listen to van Morrison every night. He ends my day right
Ditto, 10:10 pm in Khon Kaen, Thailand, I'm turning off the PC and hitting the sack.
That was a tremendous gift of the power of the heart and soul in a Life’s True Story of such poignant love, and Van’s wondrously gorgeous Tupelo Honey artistic masterpiece!!! Thank you so much to all for the sharing 🌹💐
Loved this song when it first came out...still love it...Timeless Gold...
I love Van Morrison and Them featuring Van Morrison. My favorites since decades.
He is awesome, great reaction
Van Morrison is a legend his body of work speaks for itself ✌️
Always appreciate people who listen and are moved by great artists
Van the man! Brings me back! My older brother turned me onto Van! His favorite! 🌻❤
Everybody knows the most romantic song is 'you shook me all night long' by AC/DC
Please…. No TV refrences… wrong frequency…
Sinatra himself called "Something" by George Harrison the best love song of all time.
I like your pure and open reaction...i think you discovered the one and only van the man..the man who connects us with the love and the magic in life...his whole carrière with more than 400 songs is out of this world...i suggest you listen to listen to the Lion, angeliou, it's alle in the game, and the healing has begun, foreign window, etc etc
now we're talking, next try Into the Mystic.
To be sure.
I am a huge Van fan. I’ve been listening to him since high school. Over the last 5+ years I’ve rekindled my playing of his songs. Into the Mystic is great, but you must hear as much of his music as you can. You’ll never be the same. Van the Man.
Here, here!

Van Morrison is my Mom's favorite singer songwriter. I can't help but think of her when I hear Van the Man - this song in particular.
Into the Mystic is undoubtedly one of his best. You won't regret it.
I gotta say this is one of my all time favorite tracks van Morrison was a poet !
Van the man is legend thanks so much for reacting to him 👍
Appreciate your reviews. Love the reactions to our music from the 60s and 70s. Thank you.
Van Morrison was a genius at the construction of song lyrics. A bluesman that has written some of the most meaningful lyrics in rock and roll. He is a legend. He is in both the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame as well as the Songwriters Hall Of Fame, and rightly so.

Awesome song I've loved almost my whole life, since it was released. Beautiful, touching reaction. Thank you.
Bob Dylan, Van Morrison and Robbie Robertson singing, what a great picture that is.
grew up listening to New York City AM radio. This was among the first songs I heard on WNEW-FM. Think of it as my first "grown up" song. Just beautiful
Beautiful song , Sad/Beautiful story !
Try and go through life with nothing unsaid because you never know !
I am going to hug my boys now !
As someone turning 80 next month who has loved Van, the Band and others of that time it’s inspiring to hear people of your generation fully appreciate these genius artists. You inspire me! Please listen to a song called “Surely “ by Black Dub”.
So beautiful. The perfect tribute. I cannot imagine the pain
Watching how you react to these songs, seeing the way it moves you, and the way you smile with them...you seem like you have the most beautiful vibe.
I think his most romantic song was "Have I told you lately that I love you " definitely deserves a listen
It's certainly used far more as first dance at a wedding than any other Van Morrison song.
sooo many amazing songs from him through the decades!
Love your reactions, you really feel the music in your soul. I've loved Van since I first heard him many moons ago, I've never looked back 🥰
I love watching you enjoy these older musicians.
It took me some time to really hear Van but when I started to really listen he became one of my favorites.
Love your reactions.
You can tell it comes from the heart and not an act.
Keep it up beautiful lady.

This song sure brings tears to my eyes! Beautiful ! and I must say your reactions are Beautiful! Thank You
Was one of my mother's favorite songs. We played it at her funeral, and I can't hear it without Ugly Crying! Brilliant!
I get so happy when people react to Van Morrison
And the thing is, Van's still going, still playing music and writing great stuff. If anything, he's just got better.
His most romantic song has to be "Have I told you lately". But he has so many....'Someone like you' is another great one
I'm from NY and moved to Colorado where I could actually afford to see Vsn Morrison. This guy is 100% music, no frills. Once he's on, it's music, no niceties, but every second was Magical! i didn't know this song. it made me so sad. i was secretly in love with my best friend when i was 15. i know he was too, but unfortunately a friend of him told me years later, when it was too late. i had to throw my loveletter into his grave, he died with 22 on cancer - half a year after it was diagnosed. when he died we were still friends.
life is to short to don't speak out our feelings. R.I.P. Thomas you will always be with us
😔 thank you for sharing that with us.
Similar to my story with Luanne. I found out over 40 years later. Still hurts.
Van Morrison is one of the best singer songwriters. The lyrics and music are sweet like honey. No pun intended.
I love your reactions and you're voice. And your easy on the eyes
I am so sorry!
@@garyaaron8425 My deepest condolences! I am so sorry for your loss!

God bless you Van! You have a great Soul👍🏻😁
His most stunning piece. So glad you found it.
