    Hello,
We just subscribed not too long again to your channel. This was a much needed video for us. We will be starting Abeka in September after Labor Day. Our 9 year old is headed into the 4th grade. I like how you broken the 4th grade curriculum, That makes it much easier for us. Our 3 children loves reading. Our oldest, which is going into 6th grade, doesn't like writhing book reports unless it's a book he enjoys reading. You guys method truly works. We have tried what you guys have done. I love how you explain everything. You are a great homeschool mom for your son. I got overwhelmed with all the textbooks/workbooks/teacher answer keys and etc. Listening to you makes me feel that we got our money worth for sure for all was purchase. We decided on purchasing the independent Abeka program because of the flexibility the customer service rep said it will be for our family since we want to try year round homeschooling this school year. We appreciate your content and praying for the of your success of your RUclips channel.
    Thanks!

      Hi Alisia!
I'm so happy other the you found this video so helpful! It makes me so excited and encourage when I read these comments :) We are trying out the independent study for this upcoming 5th grade because I wanted to test a few ideas out to see how they works. My husband and I have thought about doing year around homeschooling too, just because we love keeping the momentum. I would love to hear how you implemented it and how you structure it :) I'm giving it some thought :) My son is the same way as your 6th grader lol. Are you using Abeka for all your kiddo's? Thank you so very much! I truly appreciate having you hear and the thoughtful and kind comment! It means so much to me!!! God Bless you :)

Hi Yessi,❤️ thank you for creating such amazing content!! Your videos is so helpful to many of us. Truly sooo grateful!!
I am planning to use Abeka to my daughter this year, so this such a good guide for me!!
We just took my son out from Public school, last year, and he has autism. He adjusted pretty good with Abeka, accredited since he is already in highschool. I was too worried about the whole transcript so having him in accredited program is a huge blessings to us for now...
I have been checking out your videos and shorts and I love every single of them. You are totally brilliant and also such a sweet human being and i love your energy everytime!
Yessi, thank you for being a huge blessings! God bless you and your beautiful family. I appreciate you so very much❤️❤️🙏🙏

@@JoyfulYessi aww, thank you for your sweet reply❤️ I'd love to see more of day in the life, it's amazing the things you do even after a long day at work. And here I am, complaining always tired, even if it was just a part time job. That's how I came across your channel I need motivation, cuz lately I found myself not wanting to do anything when I get home, even making dinner feels so hard sometimes. But when I watch one of your DITL, I feel truly inspired. And your lifestyle is very similar to mine, Christian family, simply living, loving the Lord. I have 2 kids too but they are older, 9 & 17- so I can relate so much with you guys!! Keep doing what you do, and again, thank you, you blessed me so much!!

Lack of motivation strikes us all. I'm so happy to know that you have found inspiration in them. It truly makes me happy! Thank you so much! 🥰

Hello…well your video started playing after another video I was watching and I had RUclips on the background while I organized my kids homeschool materials. As I was listening you caught my attention when talking about why you made he decision to homeschool. My son’s name is also Noah. I am amazed of how similar our stories are. My son is also going to 4th grade this year. When he started kindergarten COVID happen and he got so behind. After distance learning I knew I had to do something. I am blessed that I am a stayed at home mom so I knew I had the time to homeschool. It was such a hard decision for me to make. Even though my husband had my back 100% there were family members that didn’t seem to support my decision but I knew it was the best for my son and my family. So I started homeschooling last year. It’s been amazing. I am just glad to hear that your story was similar to mine and that I got to see this video because it just confirmed that I made the right decision. Thank you so much for this video. ❤

Hello Kenya! Thank you so much for sharing this with me 🤗 it’s always so nice to hear from other mommas that share the same experience! Wow! Even our kiddo’s name are the same lol the important thing is that both you and your hubby are on the same boat. You have made the best choice for them because you know what’s best for him🤗 there are always going to be people who don’t understand, and that’s ok, because it’s your conviction and vision for your family🙂 thank you so much for writing and watching! I hope you have an awesome start to your 2nd year 😁

I’m not sure if you already have a video but if not, can you do one of like a day in the life? Like showing how you start and step by step of what you do/they do a day? I feel like I’m doing something wrong. My kids have been working thru the videos and aren’t ever sure when to do book work etc. I try to follow the video manual but we’re all so scattered idk what I’m doing wrong. We’re doing 4th and 5th. TIA for any advice!!

I’m hoping to do one pretty soon this year 🤗 I did a DITL video at the end of this past school year here 👉 ruclips.net/video/6uXGsq-ljLE/видео.html and recently I did a video just going through the video manual 👉ruclips.net/video/lsoWEB7jnKQ/видео.html I’m hoping to do a more thorough one soon, especially on the days I’m off from work and do more fuller days with them. Typically my husband and I split up the lessons that we do since we both work. Usually the lessons are printed on the bottom of the workbook pages and when the the video teacher typically would say what page they are going to be working on throughout the lesson. during the lesson when the kids on the video do their work your kids can pause the video and complete those particular problems or assignments and then continue the lessons. One thing that has been super helpful for my kids is organizing their materials using the binder method because it just keeps eveything they will need in one place and in the order of the video lessons. I do have a video on my homeschooling playlist on how I organized our binders for both 4th & 5th grade. That might help a bit. Another thing that we have found helpful this year is having a parent binder too where I put in there what we would need to refer to daily for quick reference. I shared that in this video 👉 ruclips.net/video/PBNL1DSb47w/видео.htmlsi=ppl-QP0u1g2wEh2l At first it can feel a little overwhelming and getting use to it, but you can feel free to change things to make it work for your family you don’t have to do every problem or exercise use if your child doesn’t need it. I hope that this helps a little bit and I will get work going on making a DITL video to show a little more on how we make it work! Keep up persevering! 🤗

Dear Yessi, i ve been waiting for this video so much!!!!!!! amazing!!!!! thank youu sosososos much!!!!!im about to start 4th grade in two more weeks so I followed your videos on how to organize the classes in the five star flex binder, so ill do that soon, but i really needed to get all these wonderful advices from you!!! I was feeeling overwhelmed about doing all these written activities, but i do know now that i can do them orally! great tip! We came back few months ago from Chile, south america. Can you believe schools there where closed for a year an a half? My son did his entire 2nd and 3rd grade at home, and 4 grade, last year, he did it in school, but like you said, those years it seems that kids didnt learn too much, it happened to my son. Now that im here in the U.S my son should start 5th grade like yours, but he will go to 4th again cuz i see this curriculum is so good and very advanced. I was gonna do accredited but i just changed to unnacredited to go a little slower. We will take all this year to prepare him to 5th grade and do the accredited version of abeka (my daughter will be doing 8 grade just she just finish her 7th in Chile.) But im so thankful for this video!!!!!! i saw your video at the beggining of 4th grade and i really wanted to see the end too! lol ...I havent got my dvds nor the video manual, but we got the rest of the books. i was wondering about the books report. I heard you say they have to choose other books to read like biographies and things like that? OMG! I think the ones we got...4...4a,4b,4c...etc are so many!!!!im kinda scared with that!!!! i will see and check those WHO WAS?books....seems interesting. I got 2 questions. Did noah have the same schedule every single day? i know we can be flexible with schedules cuz i would like to start and finish at the same time each day, but did that work for your baby? something else....my kiddo in Chile learned since 1st grade all of the penmanship, so i wouldnt like for him to spend that much time doing that class, since he already knows how to do it, i prefer for him to spend more time in math and other stuff, so is penmanship class and book are graded too? If i remember more questions i will write you, but this video is just absolutely amazing, just what i needed itt...thank youu sweet momma! gracias!!! Pd...i remember you cut the pages of arithmetics and separe them in quartersand put them in the binder (5 star) did you do the same with other classes too right? Thanks!!!

I'm so excited to hear how helpful this video was to you! It truly means so much to me :) That is so exciting that you are starting in 2 weeks. Wow! That's a long time with! Were you in Chile for family, missions or are you military family? I just love how families are situated all over the world and how your families are so adaptable :) Where are you now? I think you made a great choice starting slow and having your kids easing into it! So the readers that come with the curriculum are used in reading class and part of it is read in the reading class. As for the book reports, at first teacher guides them with the book reports and they use the books that come along with the curriculum, the" Saved at Sea" and "Song of the Brook". They are not suer extensive, there's a short format, long format and oral. Now for the independent reading ones the book just have to be 100 pages long and in the video manual it lets you know the genre. As for our schedule, we did the same schedule each day with the excepting of report days, when our son had to complete his final copy of the book report that's the only thing we had him do for the day and then he was done for the day (he felt so rewarded lol) However, if somedays he was a bit overwhelmed because he had several assessments, we would just slit that day into 2 and only did half one day and half the other, it all depended on how he was doing. most days he would start around 9-9:30, have a 1 hour lunch break and be done by 1:30-2. As for penmanship test, that part was always graded by Abeka since we did accredited, the book practice as not. Since you are not doing accredited, if you feel that your kiddo's cursive is proficient and he doesn't need the practice, you could just skip the lessons and practice and maybe have him do the test portion of it so at least he has some practice for the upcoming year when you are doing accredited. Noah had zero cursive in school, so we personally had to do all of the practice :) As for the binder, I divided all of the consumables, test and quizzes into the quarters and I filled emptied and filled the binder each new quarter. After the initial set up, the rest of the refills are super quick and easy. I'm so happy that this was so helpful to you! It really does brighten my day when I hear from people and they share their thoughts with me :) Fell free to let me know if you have any more questions! Dos te Bendiga mucho!

For the Bible journal.4..never found answer key...so I guess we just do our best? I understand some of them are personal thoughts. Please help

Yes! We don’t do the bible journal because is optional, so it doesn’t come included with all the other books. This is also something that is not graded nor included in the progress report. So I agree with you. Just try your best and use the reflections as conversation topics to have with your child 🤗

How exciting!!! 😆 I can’t wait to hear all about it! For us it’s going very well 🤗 I’m keeping the days in the summer similar to how I had them for k4, just doing half days, come end of August, we will do the full days. 😁 there’s a lot of review with the letter sounds and numbers, which I love because I feel there’s some areas w/ her sounds that she needs to work on 🤗
