Yes, my sister got some of those and gave them to me for my kiddos to try 🤗 at the time the Kikuet brand was not available where I lived but now they carry them. I personally havent tried them because I can’t have gluten, but my family has enjoyed them 🤗 I feel the same way about the Goya sofrito, I feel like the La Royana one is so much better!

@JoyfulYessi yep, see - no, I have to make my 64oz of fresh sofrito because I feel like the Goya sofrito or even the recaito just does not give our arriz con gandules or habichuelas blancas that same authentic Boricua flavor my grandma gave it and that's why I stick to my sofrito; the cilantro, cilantro and the sweet Ají is a must. And btw, a note forbthose who may not know - people should not confuse our Boricua Ají Dulces with the Dominican Cachucha Ají, they are not the same at all - people will ruin their food because the Cachucha is spicy.

I’ve never had mine making a weird noise. The two lights will be red at first and then when it’s warmed up after 4-5 minutes a blue bottom will come and it means that it’s ready to use. I personally don’t, but I know some people who do. Different people like to make there differently. There really no wrong way, you could do it with or without, whichever you like the most 🤗

I love that you are already thinking of how you are going to make it work and have a plan to test things out! That’s definitely how we did it before going all in. That is definitely doable! Having her work with any direct instruction with you in the morning and evening is an excellent idea, and the fact that you have Friday off is perfect. You could also use a little bit of the week d if you think that might work good. That’s the beauty of homeschool, it’s so flexible. Honestly, Homeschool doesn’t take the time that a typical traditional school day would. Once she is done with something she can just move onto the next thing. That’s one of the things my 6th grader loves, the fact that he can just move along and doesn’t have to worry about waiting on others. Once you guys find a rhythm that works for you guys it’ll be great! 🤗 keep me posted!

Hi there! Well with the dvds we still can do one on one with the kids. We do the independent study (unaccredited) so with that we get a lot of flexibility in how we do things and I feel that we get the opportunity to work with the kids one on one often. I don’t feel like they are on the screen all the time. The kids both watch the full Bible classes, langue/writing, social studies and science. However, for our son in 6th grade when it comes to math, depending on the concept, sometimes my husband teaches him the lesson instead. Other times he watches the bulk portion of the lesson and then finishes the rest without the video. Our 1st grader always watches phonics and sometimes the math. The math since is so early on sometimes we feel very confident about it and just teach it to her along with the workbooks pages. Sometimes though, she does watch the math classes. It really just depends. I teach the reading lessons with both my kids. It’s what I taught as a teacher for many years and it’s a subject that I really teaching. Typically, I do reading with them after I get home from work and dinner is being cooked 🤗 I hope this gives a little insight and I hope to make a new DITL video sometime soon 🤗

The progress reports get sent in a total of 4 times, one per grading period. The way it works is that you get all of your materials for the entire year at once when you purchase it. Videos, Books, Test quizzes and answer keys. Depending on when your start date is will depend on when your progress report is due. The dates will show up on the calendar in your dashboard online. You can take up to 12 months to complete the year.

This is wonderful! It will definitely give you an idea of what will work and not work for your family when you start to homeschool fully! When we first started with my daughter in k4, that's how we did it too. We just started homeschooling her gradually until we went all in. I'm a teacher too 🤗 (an ESL teacher) It's a great curriculum, we are now on our third year using them and our kids really enjoy it. 🤗

They usually come sold in a bunch already tied together. I put one of those in, I use all of the cilantro, both the leaves and stems.

I love using the fresh ones too, but we don’t have many places that carry them fresh and of quality🫤

Fressshhhh vegetables is the only way to go

This particular recipe wouldn’t do well in the instant pot because you would have to add water to it to bring it to pressure so it would get too watery and the consistency would probably not be too good and the corned beef already comes precooked. You could however make the white rice in the Instant Pot 🙂

I only do the Bible video lessons and the Bible activity book seatwork. This year I didn’t include it in my daughter’s binder because it’s something that I found myself doing during the weekends with her, or sometimes I take it to church for her to do there. However you can definitely add it to the binder as well. You can place it as the very first subject if that’s the first thing your child will complete. The way to correlate it is, at the bottom right hand side of the page you will see the lesson # the activity goes with. You can divide the book up with the lessons that are included in each grading period. Not every lesson has an activity, so you will notice that there is one for lesson 19 and the skips to 23. Then do the same process you did for the rest of the workbooks. I hope this provides some guidance 🤗 if not let me know! 🤗
