a retargeting tutorial with the rig would be sweeeet! I just tried it myself with the character definition tag with no luck 😅 but i've been waiting for a tool like this to come out. TY! 👑
Can the wolf, Coyote, in Character Creator 4 use this setup? Or does it require the standard bone naming of Character Creator 4? Will different bone naming conventions be supported in the future?
Hi I believe the wolf coyote is set up with facial bones rather than facial morphs and was 'characterized' in CC4. Meaning: its joint hierarchy was not created using CC4 or AccuRig. Therefore its not compatible with the CC4D tools atm as they need the specific cc4/reallusion bone hierarchy and naming conventions. But I will have a look how to implemet that in the future. The CC4D Face Rig only supports fully Morph based facial profiles (with the exception of the eye and jaw bones) as bone based morphs will not get exported from Character Creator as FBX. I hope this helps! You can find some more information on that topic here: blkmsk.gitbook.io/cc4d-tools-manual/quick-setup#cc4d-face-rig
do you mean the maxon move app? yes, once the animation import/baking features are done I will also provide a setup for that. here is a quick proof of concept from last year: drive.google.com/file/d/1Lo1-eRrekTyf9t1LvUU-rsj-JedZdN8o/view?usp=sharing
Thanks @chrismithone! The CC wrinkles are not yet supported, but its on the list ;) as soon as I have a first version of the auto material setup (redshift) integrated I will add wrinkle support as well
Are there any features or options to import mocap to this rig from iclone for the face or body. with the FREE blender pipleline tool we can import actorcore & Imotion and apply it to the blender rigify control rig. Can your tool retarget mocap as well?
@AutodidactAnimotions there is not yet a automatic animation import / retargeting tool but thats also in progress. Right now you can manually retarget moCap animations eG from actorcore onto the control rig using the C4D character definition tag. I will upload a video covering that topic soon

hey there, it is not really a plugin rather a collection of a few c4d files and scripts. To update the contents you can simply remove the old files and import the new files.

These are rather amazing tools, and I am already keen to try them out. However, a primary feature I would like to be able to access is lip-sync. So if I generate some lipsync and facial animations in iClone, would I be able to export as FBX, and copy this data to my CC4D character rig as motion clips? - The strength of iClones lip-sync tools, useable in Cinema 4D rigs for the animation is a perfect combination to me.
Hi Adam not yet with the current version but with the next major update I will add a 'import'BodyMotion' tool as well as a 'importFaceMotion' tool to transfer facial animation coming from iClone to the controls of the rig
@@kromekatdotcom Sure! the base functionality is already there but it needs a bit more testing and refinement. I can't give you a exact date but I hope to publish it within the next month

Great Video, I keep having trouble importing my character in to C4D. Everytime I import the hair with the character as FBX the loading bar freezes at halfway and goes unresponsive. Not sure whether this is a polygon issue as it imports fine into Maya and Blender but not C4D. Any guesses on how to fix this? Thanks
Hi, no there will be no live linking tool but I will implement the option to import facial animation data coming from iClone onto the CC4D Face Rig as well as a connection to the Maxon Moves App
So Ive made a series of poses in the cc4 facial editor that I was hoping would work after setting up the rig, is there a way to access those or should I recreate them in C4D using their pose morph tools?
Hey @eww7270 if I understand your question right you want to know how to import facial poses from CC on to the face rig? Right now you would have to recreate those poses manually with the face rig controls itself as they get connected to the posemorphs exported from CC but I'm working on a automated solution to import animations and poses as well as facial poses from CC which will be added to the CC4D Tools sometime soon

This tool is fantastic. Is there a way to use the face rig alone without using the body rig too or do they need to be used together?
Hi^^ @tomcoben Thanks! Yes the face rig is relying on the control rig and can not be applied without it
My characters were created in cc3, I want to add arkit blendshapes to it to make facial mocap, is it possible or do I have to do it in cc4?
