Very involved manual process compared to the Blender pipeline tool from Reallusion But still ,even at this point, you have taken mocap retargeting in C4D further than Maxon has ever done particularly without everything requiring a mixamo skeleton to work. hoping. to see the process more automated soon but keep it going!!
Hi there, yes it can work with data from move.ai easily following the process in the video above. The bone extraction in the character definition manager even works almost out of the box. here is a quick basic test with animation data from move.ai: drive.google.com/file/d/1kkqjGuppSurVUXw8ssO60fR6sscUAj11/view?usp=sharing
Hi if 'first frame in bind pose' is greyed out when you want to export animation from CC4 than you probably exporting your animation on a character with the type 'humanoid'. you could reset the character to its bindpose in cinema via the 'reset bind pose' button on one of the characters weight tags (the same way as in the mixamo workflow). If that doesnt work as expected try exporting the animation on a CC3+ character. for the retargeting the character type is not important as only the animation data gets transfered on to your actuall character. I hope this helps! let me know if you have any trouble
@@CC4DTools Thanks for responding. Ok i figured it out. IT was an ActorCore actor....so an ActorBUILD character. I didn't realize the difference but i get it now the difference between actorbuild (humainoid) and cc3+ characters. I am learning! thank you!!!
Hi if you mean tutorials on importing facial animation / lip sync from iclone to the cc4d rig: thats not implemented yet but on the top of the list. if you mean tutorials / guides about the functionality of the facial controls: blkmsk.gitbook.io/cc4d-tools-manual/face-rig-overview
