One Night I was singing Karaoke at Club Joe’s (RIP John) and the Blonde 👱♀️ 👱♀️ Twin DJ’s put Town without Pity on for me by mistake and I told her to leave it I know that song 🎵 it’s from a movie 🎥 I saw Sargent Carter in (Gomer Pile) and I blew the crowd away singing it
His love songs Just dissect the emotions that we feel in our relationships. Like I'm going to be strong, Half Heaven half heartache, backstage, 24 hours from Tulsa and others. His lyrics just kill it t o the depths of my soul!
I am 77 and listened to him as a teenager. I loved his records. Gene Pitney’s voice is one of a kind. He hosts highs, lows, mediums, he does that “cry” a lot while he is singing. I just have always loved him and when I close my eyes I am transported back to a 15-16 year old. Memories are forever. Thanks Gene for being a part of my life even though you never knew who I was. I felt I knew you and just loved your songs and that marvelous voice.
I’m 73 and loved his music growing up in the 60’s. “ Through the Eyes” and “I’m Gonna Be Strong” are my absolute favorites. Thanks so much for sharing this with us!❤
@@sonnysoldies5288I don't see a separate line to comment so I'm commenting from one of your comments but Gene Pitney is the best his lyrics and his music never disappoint and they are just at the top of the list of any rock and roll male singer especially. I had his songbook of hits and I played them on the piano especially the slow ones I was able to play more easily and they are so heartfelt and when the crystals recorded he's a rebel, that was something else. It was one of our ride in the car songs to Washington DC for a woman's March. These songs are so nostalgic and his voice just tugs at the heartstrings I never got to see him in person.
@@annefischer1433 He's from CT and I saw him just months before he passed away. I don't think he ever had a bad song and we were proud of him here in CT. Thanks for commenting.
GENE PITNEY had such a unique voice and he would often sing harmony with himself. The result was fantastic and it separated him from the other singers of his time. RIP Gene. We miss you.
Gene was and still is the greatest. Thank goodness I can watch and listen to videos of him. I only wish I had seen him in person. I have listened to him forever as he was born in 1940 and I was born in 1950 he has been my favorite since I was a teenager
I love Gene Pitney, right from being young and I still love him, I still listen to him every day, his voice was fantastic. He is my favourite along with Roy Orbison. You brighten my day every day Gene Thankyou. XXXX
Love this all Gene pitney songs best singer ever I play them loads of brill what you have done thank you for this post 📪📪📪 it's very difficult to pick a song because love all Gene pitney songs best singer ever if I had to pick it would be when the Angels Got. He was the "total package." And "Only Love Can break A Heart" is my all-time favorite Bacharach-David song (amidst a staggering catalog of their compositions).
Gene Pitney I was born in 1954 and ever since I can remember my aunt playing a record over and over of Gene Pitney his voice was so unique and whatever he sang was awesome to this day every nite I watch his last concert everytime I listen to him sing he’s still got it and will never lose that awesome voice. Rip Gene u will never be forgotten. My favorite song is If I didnt have a dime and of course Town without Pity but I love of his music he will be missed
❤I grew up like to gene when my older sister went to see him in the Adelphi on Abbey Street 1967 the year she was getting married iwas 12and still in school,as one of her flower girls she told her intended husband she fell in Love that night with gene he laughed and their marriage lasted until COVID took them so now there up in heaven together singing gene's hits ❤

Yeah ,thanks the reason I brought that up because someone posted a Webb Pierce version he did in 1957. Yes you are right I got it confused with Gene Pitney. Sonny did you see my requests on your days of the week album?
Bill Medley also does a version of it which is good, but not as good as Gene Pitney. I think it is the greatest song by Gene Pitney, and I have all these songs on vinyl and CD.😊👍

(I Wanna) Love My Life Away was heard in early 1961 not '63. This was Gene Pitney's first hit record.
@@ricmazur8620 Good catch...I don't usually make that type of error. If you had only mentioned how good it sounds I could have saved face a little.

Gene is timeless. I've been listening to him for 60 years and I never get tired. I may have aged but his music hasn't
Snap I was about 10, loved him all my life. Been to three concerts and I'm 70 ❤
I was 10 years in 1962 when Gene became really popular. Between my portable radio and hanging out in the record stores I became a lifelong fan.
Thankful for the net to bring out favorites back to us. Thank you

Gene meravigliosa voce
Gene and Phil Spector for "Every Breath..."
If I didn't have a dime and Liberty Valen's Are my favorite Pitney song's. I know that he didn't write either one.
Frankie Laine recorded 'I'm Gonna Be Strong' first. When his version didn't do well he told Gene he should consider recording 'I'm Gonna Be Strong'.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👏👏👏👏👏👏👍
i wonder if Gene is playing the drums? Love them.
Hello sonny it's Kathie
Sonny thanks for posting wonderful memories. Didn't Gene also sing "Missing you" ?
Which he sings accompanied by a piano?
I only know of Ray Peterson singing it.
Yeah ,thanks the reason I brought that up because someone posted a Webb Pierce version he did in 1957. Yes you are right I got it confused with Gene Pitney. Sonny did you see my requests on your days of the week album?
I’m going to be strong. Is his version the first?
Frankie Laine in 1963 but couldn't compare to Gene's version.
Bill Medley also does a version of it which is good, but not as good as Gene Pitney. I think it is the greatest song by Gene Pitney, and I have all these songs on vinyl and CD.😊👍
Up there with the greats is GP👌👏👍🥇
