But if you actually watch all the games, you will see Nalyssa being the cause of many of CC’s & team’s overall TO’s. Smith is a good player, but not a good fit for Fever/ under CC’s run & gun/ push the pace/ perimeter defense focus.

Her own shots ending up falling on floor to not get back on transition defense as a result. Opponents ALWAYS scores when Smith makes these mistakes & slows down game with her lumbering low post spin moves that go right into teeth of defense/ double teams usually… & Rarely pass Out of it to open shooters (like Boston can & does).
I hope she moves on to another team where she is better fit & has more of spotlight that she wants
You need to watch a video of her play , without highlights or maybe the podcast of "Awful coaching " and that will give you a better idea of her lethargic demeanor on the court. Highlights are Highlights!! They skew one's perception of reality. Check it out. Videos of her missed layups are legendary. As her Defensive posture, where things are happening around her, and she seems oblivious. She can't anticipate. She only reacts, albeit belatedly. A player with a specific skill set. But if you watch her performance, without the Highlights being emphasised, you get a better picture of her worth to the team.

The underlying issue is Swoopes doesn’t like herself.
She hates the fact that a 22 yr old girl, straight out of college, is getting more attention than her. Angel Reese patronized her by coming to her like she was the grandmaster, teaching a student. Sheryl loves that...someone to come kiss the ring. Caitlin's too busy for crap like that. Lol

Watching the Fever bench play was so much fun! Berger probably wanted that last shot back, but overall they put up some great gameplay moments. Super excited for the playoffs!

Grace want’s that back, she would have been carried off the court if she had hit it. It was really fun to see the bench players, they all could be worked in given a few more reps. They almost did it and it’s nice to see them get some attention.

The greatest gift CC brought to basketball is the fact we now know about all the great players on the Fever. They're a good solid ball club.

FFS people watching don't know its a stat sheet that is placed in front of them. CC continually looks at them when asked detailed comments about the game - points in the paint is one category she could only answer by referring to a stat sheet.
I think Nalyssa gets more shade/criticism than she deserves. Go back and watch the camera shots of the Fever bench during the games. Nalyssa is excited, jumping up and down and cheering on her team mates, every single game. I also think she is not as bad a player as some make her out to be. She's not triple A, but she get rebounds and drops shots every time she's on the court. I'd say half the games she plays, she is actually decent.

I love Smith. Some of her plays this season were my favorite of the season. She appears to be in a slump now. She gets frustrated with Sides. The hate Smith gets is horrible. I've unsubscribed from 2 channels because they berated her so bad. I think it has affected her confidence

I thought NaLyssa did great in this interview, as well as in the last shootaround interview. She is definitely not as comfortable in front of the camera as our big three or Temi or Lexi. And she would way know that everybody is still talking about her post. i thought she was brave given the potential of being asked about that. Instead, she did indeed seem to deliberately try to anchor herself as a teammate and indicate true appreciation for being on this team. She has clearly been thinking about things.
I've noticed Wheeler, Mitchell and now Smith have all highlighted the positive impact CC has brought to the WNBA in the last couple of interviews, all seemed genuine yet Swoopes pushes a downright evil narrative.

Well, this is something that has taught ME a lesson! I had lost hope with N'Alyssa Smith, but this reveals my error and I am (happily) back to really admiring Smith and, frankly, feeling like she is the essential piece of the Fever's possible success in the Playoffs. Thank you, N'Alyssa Smith!

Those stat sheets are always on the table post-game. Some players put their nose in them and get distracted. I think Nalyssa was genuinely giving a shout out to C.C., not reading from a script.
Lets just say that whatever Swoops says think the opposite. She cannot conceive that a group of female athletes can win have fun and enjoy each other. She is a toxic person and that is so sad that someone that is so great has that much hate in her.

People who are saying don’t play Smith, she is compromised are delusional. She is the best matchup on Alyssa Thomas who is 6’2 and listed at 200 pounds and plays with high physicality, combo forward. Smith is strong and rebounds well, more mobile than Dontas and more physical than Temi. AB is matched up with Brianna Jones at center. Temi is a better matchup for Bonner, both are 6’4” and Bonner gets most of her points at the perimeter, 3 pointers. I guess Hull might start on Bonner, Harris and Carrington, Suns guards, KM and CC match ups. Let’s Go Fever!

Who cares if she is reading. That doesnt mean that it was scripted for her, that means that she wrote down the points she wanted to make while being intimidated by a effiing horde of reporters. It means she took the time to document her thought rather than going off the cuff. Would you criticize someone for editing an email?

It was obvious that Nalyssa was reading from a sheet of paper. It doesn't mean anything more than she wrote what she wanted to say and the sheet was written to ensure she did so. Again, nothing wrong with that!

Why would she want to leave as opposed to upping her game ? If Sides knew how to coach she would have Smith working on her game on defense ,and free throws . I’m not necessarily saying as a starter at this point,but who knows what she is capable of if she worked on her game …

She has the potential to be one of the best power forwards in the league but that's just not going to happen with this team.

You understand that when a pass hits you in the chest that you should first - catch it, then second make the layup.
We all miss shots, fail to catch a perfect pass, and aren't ready when that pass comes.
What amazes me is that HOF players who are now commentators forget all of that.
A great coach or a great player knows when they are set up for success. CC does it better than anyone in the W, and yes, her teammates get it.

Nalyssa Smith played well last night. She cleans the boards and is reliable inside. I know her girlfriend creates doubt in her being distracted but I think we need blue collar players like Nalyssa. I disagree with feeding her the perimeter shots. Her foul shooting can come and go. I was happy to see the benchwarmers get some playing time and they did well too. I was really concerned about Kelsey getting injured. Swoopes can go to.......
