This one reason why I hated Angel attaching Clark’s name to certain fans (obviously not all) because some of her fans attack players constantly on social media as well.
It’s unfortunate that it happens, it’s like certain people don’t know how to criticize someone without belittling them and attacking them personally.

The W is still getting use to all the attention that they have been craving since their inception but they are now realizing at the end of this season that it comes with just as many cons as pros. They are going to get criticized like any other sport. It sucks, but I guarantee the league is looking at it from a perspective that it would be worse if they weren’t talking about them at all. If you don’t have frustrated fans then you probably got other issues to address as well . Things will get better for the Sky. They were on the verge of officially exceeding expectations if they made the playoffs because many analysts weren’t expecting them to have the mild success they had earlier in the season due to still being in the process of rebuilding. They just need to assess themselves like any other team and make a diligent effort to address their challenges.

Sorry, but part of being paid to play a sport that fans watch is dealing with the fans criticism. Emphasis on dealing with the fans, criticism… You’re correct in them curating their Twitter space to filter out negative energy. But you get paid to play a game that people watch, people get to say what they wanton the backend. They’re the ones who pay for the product.

Sadly, the “fans” are not most of the people doing this online harassment. Just the fact that they think they can police the online trolls shows. They don’t understand what they’re dealing with. She’s trying to tell anonymous trolls to be mindful not to hurt people when they’re entire mission is the cause the kind of hurt she is displaying. She’s basically saying you accomplished your mission do more.
Now, is it right? Of course not. But we can’t go around individually every single anonymous online troll especially when Twitter is now set up to amplify hate speech.
The WNBA needs social media literacy very badly and just media training.

Hey young man (I get to say that because I am 74). You seem to have access to a huge amount of WNBA data, and I wonder if you, now that the regular season is over, can find out what the percentage of flagrant/chucked out of the game fouls was against CC, versus the remainder of the rookie class had to deal with? I mean if you listened to the GOATS of the league said this behavior was just part of rookie initiation!!!

@@bobbcraig275 The answer is a resounding NO. CC has received a staggering (6) of the W's total of (35) flagrant fouls this season. It's impossible to find, for some reason, a list of who flagrant fouls are committed against, except for CC because she gets so damn many of them. The closest stat is PFD, but that's just personal fouls drawn & has more to do with how a player plays offense.

They need to stop putting blame on caitlin clark fans, ive never seen clark fans criticize these people, i dont even know who the one on the right is ill be honest, only people i know of on their team is Angel Reese, Dana Evans, and unfortunately Chennedy Carter. No reese fans should be criticizing teammates for getting rebounds, that is the most ridiculous thing i ever heard. And you shouldn’t be criticizing someone for not passing to Reese in fact you SHOULD criticize someone FOR passing to Reese because she throws bricks all day.

This is fascinating...nearly all of us watching these videos, games, & then commenting are men. We're mostly used to following male athletes, so it's interesting to follow female athletes & see how differently they react to stuff like "hate" from "fans". If we saw two men cry in a presser about what Marlon randos typed at them online, we'd ridicule them as being soft & ill-prepared. I find myself conflicted when it's two women...they, on average, process stuff so much differently than men do. I'd love to hear a woman's thoughts on this.

I honestly think its a generational thing. I as at uni when facebook was first launched, then twitter, youtube, instragram and i try to stay away as much as possible. Gen Z and millenium live for and on social media. We live in a weak era where people are not tough enough to handle criticism and everything is taken personally.

I recognize the pattern of troll input on mainly political pages. It’s a classic example of shite stirring. Please remember that bots/bros hit all pages to stir up divisiveness, it’s what they’re paid to do. Always look at their profiles. They’re just there to drop bombs. I just reply, “Do svidaniya, Ivan.”
Also, the WNBA needs to have personal classes for every player (one-on-one) in PR and dealing with the press/media. The players also need to get in-house help for their personal issues with social media. They need real professional help.
Clark has had professional help, it started in college. She’s a college graduate in marketing. Yet, the most important thing she has done is turn off all social media.
