But the lead singer (Brendan Maier) actually lives in Illinois and he also sings for another AIC tribute band in Illinois, that band is called Facelift. Brendan also has a solo music career as well. There is another really good solid AIC tribute band called Rooster out of Denver that I’d recommend seeing too if you are ever in the area.

You can tell I believe with aging his range has changed alil but still no one close to this kid in singing Laynes vocals. Dont get me wrong no one will ever replace Layne, but it's nice to be able to hear similar vocals like that again, coz they never will be anything like him again, so something so close helps ease the pain of losing someone so amazing.

right turn is the telltale song...very few dudes can do Chris...however....these cover guys have their own attributes, of course. Brendan does a nice job! His job is not an easy one...
It's hard to follow Layne's vocals for more than 2-3 songs let alone covering 15 of their best songs and sound that good. I've watch a number of Layne's live performances on youtube and there were times he had trouble getting the high notes to sound like the studio recordings. This guy does a great job!

This guy is absolutely amazing. My gosh, he sounds so much like Laine. Man, he kicks it as well as the band does a great job, too. I know that Layne and Mike would feel honored that a new generation is getting hooked into AIC as much as us who were around when they were at their ultimate best with Layne and Mike.

it's silly that he thinks like that because common-sense says remove just one component from successful art and it wont have the same qualities that made it rise above all others to the top. That's why no founding member of a band that's made it big should be fired no matter what.
Those screams are well done almost like it was layne singing at times, i think that maybe he can make it sound even closer to Layne but thats hard as hell to do perfectly, but he nailed a lot of parts in every song just a little details and it would be perfect is crazy
Listen to him singing for Skornd and his current band Chout. Pretty much Layne's vocals you'll hear. I especially love Chout, because they make me think of Corrosion of Conformity with Layne as their singer. They're awesome!
As a vocalist who admires Layne's work, I'd say he is in the ballpark but with some tonal differences but that's just because he isn't Layne. He does all the things that Layne did though; powerful chest vocal fry, playing with his annunciation and timbre to add effects to his voice, playing with his vibrato, dynamics, and just passion for the craft.

As a I live and breathe Alice in Chains and even named my 1st born son Layne I have never heard anyone cover Layne's voice like this with such precision and spot on execution. I'm super judgemental when I watch a A.I.C. cover but these covers are unreal to a point where if I never seen the video and listened hard to the audio even after all the years I've had Laynes voice grace my ear holes I don't think I could decipher between this and a 90's A.I.C. concert. @@sham3420 There's a lot of red flags with AIC. Both Cantrell's and Devall's families are military. In fact, Cantrell is from a huge military family. You do know that military intelligence has a certain wing where a music project such as AIC would've originated, right? Other bands have. So, it shouldn't be a shock that the same would apply to AIC. They alluded a lot to shooting up drugs in their music, yet the bass player was fired for such at a time when they were trying to promote the whole enchilada. It's no wonder that at the time they totally misdirected with a conjob of an explanation {He quit to do his own thing} otherwise they would've outed themselves. Man, I really like AIC, still, so it pains me that they're such and were involved in such a project.

It's hard to follow Layne's vocals for more than 2-3 songs let alone covering 15 of their best songs and sound that good. I've watch a number of Layne's live performances on youtube and there were times he had trouble getting the high notes to sound like the studio recordings. This guy does a great job!
Agreed, this guy is amazing. But remember Layne's prime was very short, 2 or 3 years at most before he went downhill...

I know that Layne and Mike would feel honored that a new generation is getting hooked into AIC as much as us who were around when they were at their ultimate best with Layne and Mike.

Those screams are well done almost like it was layne singing at times, i think that maybe he can make it sound even closer to Layne but thats hard as hell to do perfectly, but he nailed a lot of parts in every song just a little details and it would be perfect is crazy

Listen to him singing for Skornd and his current band Chout. Pretty much Layne's vocals you'll hear. I especially love Chout, because they make me think of Corrosion of Conformity with Layne as their singer. They're awesome!
As a vocalist who admires Layne's work, I'd say he is in the ballpark but with some tonal differences but that's just because he isn't Layne. He does all the things that Layne did though; powerful chest vocal fry, playing with his annunciation and timbre to add effects to his voice, playing with his vibrato, dynamics, and just passion for the craft.

As a I live and breathe Alice in Chains and even named my 1st born son Layne I have never heard anyone cover Layne's voice like this with such precision and spot on execution. I'm super judgemental when I watch a A.I.C. cover but these covers are unreal to a point where if I never seen the video and listened hard to the audio even after all the years I've had Laynes voice grace my ear holes I don't think I could decipher between this and a 90's A.I.C. concert. Excellent covers!!! Hope to see these guys in Iowa!
Wow, how old is this guy? Generally not a fan of sound-a-likes or tribute bands, but this is the closest vocal range I've heard to Layne's. Even his talking voice is like Layne's, this guy definitely has something special!

@@sham3420 There's a lot of red flags with AIC. Both Cantrell's and Devall's families are military. In fact, Cantrell is from a huge military family. You do know that military intelligence has a certain wing where a music project such as AIC would've originated, right? Other bands have. So, it shouldn't be a shock that the same would apply to AIC. They alluded a lot to shooting up drugs in their music, yet the bass player was fired for such at a time when they were trying to promote the whole enchilada. It's no wonder that at the time they totally misdirected with a conjob of an explanation {He quit to do his own thing} otherwise they would've outed themselves. Man, I really like AIC, still, so it pains me that they're such and were involved in such a project.
