Metallica are so damn lucky to have Rob with them. Rob seems like the kind of musician that's just there to rock out to metal regardless of the venue. He could easily slip into any band and feel like he's been there since the beginning. He just has so much respect for the music.
That’s wild! You have so many representatives on that stage. Pantera, Down, Superjoint, Metallica, Anthrax, Ozzy, BLS and Suicidal Tendencies!!!!! I fucking love it!!!!
Zakk, just a very nice guy. After a show, Experience Hendrix, one in the morning, freezing, he greeted fans by the tour buses. Chatted for probably half hour. Autographed pickguard by drawing a guitar, rock & roll, Zakk. Hoping to repeat on the upcoming EH tour.
Damn Matthew, Thanks for posting, this was incredible all the way through!!!!! Love the zoom in on Zakk!! I never subscribe to a channel based on one video...until now.
Respect to Zak- those are some MASSIVE shoes to fill. He’s done so with such humility. Such an awesome guitar player - I’m sure Dimebag would be proud 🤘
Can we all say, Zakk is a wild man on the guitar, what an amazing guitar player, he can probably play anything metal wise and nail it!! Mad respect for Zakk!!!!!
The hack can’t even play, he’s off tempo, misses notes, screwing up all over the place. He sounds terrible and I’m sure Dime is rolling in his grave with the amount of disrespect put to his entire lifetime of work. Hack Wylde only ended up where he is because of who he knows. He NEVER would have made it past a first audition if he wasn’t “known” Pantera died in 2004 You can’t have a band, missing 1/2 its members. All four of them were irreplaceable. Key evidence is this video here, almost unbearable to watch.
That was very enjoyable! Respect for all who played/sang that song. For the people who bash Zakk, for not trying to mimic Dime's playing, I say watch this video again. ALL of them sounded phenomenal.
I love Charlie Benante, he's an amazing drummer, but his tempo is all over the place here, and I've seen more stuff like that from other Pantera gigs. I don't get it, he's an outstanding musician.
@@yourfriendlyneighbourhoods8202 Ofc, nobody disputes that. But there is zero need to play "Walk" in a slower tempo as it's already a slow song (on all instruments). Zakk can shred lightyears faster than that without breaking a sweat.

@@derekgilbert1752 if he respected Dime at all, he wouldn’t be ruining his music by playing it. He knows he can’t play it, knows he sucks at it and decided the money was worth disrespecting and shitting all over Dimes legacy. Hack Wylde sucks, he sucked before this mess. Pantera died in 2004.

@timjaeger6589 I've seen that. Back in 2004 at the download festival Dave played Battery and The Four Horsemen with them. He bought a new energy into the band.

Just like Bon Scott endorsing Brian Johnson before he died, Darrell would have done the same regarding Zakk. You couldn’t ask for a better continuation!
Lol that's completely different. Brian Johnson carried on the band and became a whole new era of AC/DC. Zakk is just celebrating what Pantera did. He's not taking over as GUITARIST OF PANTERA.
I can’t believe how wrong some people can be. Dimes rolling in his grave hearing how awful his songs are being played by Hack Wylde. No respect shown, if he respected Dime he would have turned down hacking his songs. Instead, he saw a money and fame grab and shit all over his “friends” legacy.
Saw them here at First Ave on a Thursday, then saw them the next night at US Bank Stadium with Metallica. This performance at First Ave was a legendary, once in a lifetime kind of gig. It overshadowed the Stadium show so much that I walked out in the middle of the Metallica set and didn't go back for the second day. Pantera stole the entire weekend.
To all the "that's not Pantera" people: yeah, we *KNOW.* Dime and Vinnie (sadly) are gone. It's not like they were kicked out or they decided to leave and/or start their own version, like other musicians have done. At least with other bands, hating on the current lineup or pining for a reunion that will likely never happen is your prerogative. It doesn't do any good to point out that this isn't the "real" Pantera because that version isn't an option anymore. If you don't support the decision of the remaining members to stay together and continue to tour, stay in your cave and listen to the stuff they put out prior to the early 2000s. Some of us appreciate that we can still see the remaining members live and keep the band's legacy going.
Nah fuck all four of em. This is blatant disrespect to those brothers. I had a whole comment typed out but who gives a fuck. Fuck Phil, fuck rex, fuck Zakk. And regrettably, fuck Charlie. They ALL know this is blatantly disrespectful. Make an income with something else and respect these musicians legacies and wishes. Like your platinum albums, instead of being a junkie and going, "Well hed want me to do it". Phil can eat ass.
Phil & Rex both walked out on the Abbott Brothers though when they were alive to focus on sideprojects. They had all the chances to rekindle with dime & vinnie for over 3years from Sept 2001 to dimes death in Dec 2004. 3 years!! Yet never made the effort except shit can them.

@kskip4242 I don’t remember anyone asking
@@kskip4242 Dime was one of the best metal guitarists there has ever been. Zakk has his hands FULL trying to learn those riffs and licks that Dime had practiced for decades. Zakk was the only guy for the job imo
@@kskip4242do you play guitar?
@@kskip4242 Bet you couldn't play with 20 fingers what he can with 5, he definitely isn't overrated and with how close he was with Dime, even if Dime hadn't been murdered he would've probably been handpicked by him to take the reins if he'd ever decided to leave.
Can’t get over since day one . When Phil gave me that shirt he’s got on. Thx. Phil see you in 2025 Tour..You Fkkn 🤘🏾 Rock.!!
This is an awesome crowd and I'm never gonna feel what its like at a Pantera show🤘🤘✌️🖤🤘🤘
Never say never. Just a few years ago I told my kids I was sorry they would never see Pantera live. On 8/9/24 I saw them for my 10th time with my kids for their first time in Chicago.
you're absolutely right. and neither will the people at this show
@@Cowboy1Brian What do you mean?
@@mungofinalfi4480it’s just not the same without the brothers. Also, these dudes aren’t in their 20s and 30s anymore. If you ever saw any shows back in the 90s or early 2000s you would understand. It was just an entirely different experience. You just had to be there. That being said I think that Phil, Rex, Zack, and Charlie are doing a great job of celebrating PanterAs’ music.❤
@@vcvortex6356 iT WASN'T pANTERA THOUGH
I have been spinning some of these records since I first heard them in 94 & it does my heart so much good to see videos like this. The brothers have got to smiling down. Everyone get out and celebrate these songs while we can! 🤘
Metallica paying respect.🤘
Metallica are so damn lucky to have Rob with them. Rob seems like the kind of musician that's just there to rock out to metal regardless of the venue. He could easily slip into any band and feel like he's been there since the beginning. He just has so much respect for the music.
I was worried they were going to let Kirk play the solo 😂
Him and Dime had similar styles and they both used the pentatonic approach for soloing.
His wah wah wah
@@russkate88 Are you out of your mind? Dime was 100x a better guitar player than Kirk, there's NOTHING similar in their styles whatsoever.
@@russkate88 hahaha stop 😂
@@guitarlair no
Pantera! This live brings back memories from back in the day!
So much love and respect for all those guys. Loved to see Kirk and Robert join them as well showing thier love too.
I hear that riff and get chills every damn time, just gets you pumped up!
A+ Camera work, genuinely, Kirk and Robert on stage and you still record the solo 🤘 Respect
That’s wild! You have so many representatives on that stage. Pantera, Down, Superjoint, Metallica, Anthrax, Ozzy, BLS and Suicidal Tendencies!!!!! I fucking love it!!!!
Those Metallica dudes all got chubbies listening to that precision drumming.
He was wondering why kirk left. He look like he was having abit of stage fright or something, lol!
doubtful it is a very basic song.
I tought it was Lars on the sticks
Goosebumps! Was our song on the bus ride to football games! Beautiful version!
To all those who were there and in the pit, what a blast!!! Cheers, and thanks!!! The air was Goddamn electric!!!
Man i got this on repeat all day, fking epic ! Thanks for sharing.
EH Tour?
Damn Matthew, Thanks for posting, this was incredible all the way through!!!!! Love the zoom in on Zakk!! I never subscribe to a channel based on one video...until now.
Kirk's turning into Ronnie James Dio
Respect to Zak- those are some MASSIVE shoes to fill. He’s done so with such humility. Such an awesome guitar player - I’m sure Dimebag would be proud 🤘
That's no small club
That’s what I was thinking, Kinda like a HOBlues hell it just may be😂😂
@@CoppercustomzIt's First Avenue in Minneapolis.
Capacity is 1550.
Small would be somewhere like the Juke Joint in Springfield MO when it was still around.
For Pantera and Metallica it is
These are the collaborations fans always wanted to see! 🤘🏻🍻🤘🏻
Thanks for sharing, bro!
Phil sounds like a more chill Randy Macho Man Savage in the beginning
Just saw them at US Bank stadium and that's the first thing I said to my son.
@@lordkhail haha!
As much as I hate to say it I've been listening to both of these bands for over 30 years
“You can’t be something you’re not”. Without Dime and Vinnie it’s not Pantera
always a thing of complete joy to see sir Hammett pop out of all sorts of Random corners
“Walk on home boy.”
Rob walks.
Amazin take, THX ya so much!!!😊
Can we all say, Zakk is a wild man on the guitar, what an amazing guitar player, he can probably play anything metal wise and nail it!! Mad respect for Zakk!!!!!
We can't all say that, because most of us have ears and can hear how terrible he is. Poser
The hack can’t even play, he’s off tempo, misses notes, screwing up all over the place. He sounds terrible and I’m sure Dime is rolling in his grave with the amount of disrespect put to his entire lifetime of work.
Hack Wylde only ended up where he is because of who he knows. He NEVER would have made it past a first audition if he wasn’t “known”
Pantera died in 2004
You can’t have a band, missing 1/2 its members. All four of them were irreplaceable. Key evidence is this video here, almost unbearable to watch.
First riff I ever learned how to play, it just slaps so hard.
I’d lose my shit!!!
Then go find your shit. Get help in finding your shit again.
@@adriantrusca1245fun police out here 😒
I love how much fun kirk and rob have doing pretty much everything. And I think vinnie and dime would be proud. Zakk and Charlie are killing it imo.
First qve is a pretty cool place
I had so much fun at this show. I ended up in the pit for the entire set and completely fried my voice from yelling along to every song.
Awesome.
Happy to hear this played again by pantera live. Zack respect!🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Bunch of musicians enjoying themselves phuck the haters 😊
That was very enjoyable! Respect for all who played/sang that song. For the people who bash Zakk, for not trying to mimic Dime's playing, I say watch this video again. ALL of them sounded phenomenal.
They sound amazing! But i don't know why they slow down the songs
I love Charlie Benante, he's an amazing drummer, but his tempo is all over the place here, and I've seen more stuff like that from other Pantera gigs. I don't get it, he's an outstanding musician.
uh maybe because they aren't 20 anymore
Happens when bands get older. Metallica aren’t as fast they used to be, same as the majority of other metal/hard rock bands
@@yourfriendlyneighbourhoods8202 Ofc, nobody disputes that. But there is zero need to play "Walk" in a slower tempo as it's already a slow song (on all instruments). Zakk can shred lightyears faster than that without breaking a sweat.
@@freddyrock Absolutely. Charlie plays million times faster and harder songs on a regular basis with Anthrax, and Rex can also play way more difficult songs. I just don't get it.
I totally noticed the quotation marks around "Pantera". Excellent job. They're lucky they get that, with no Abbott brothers left alive today.
Just got back home after tonight’s full show at U.S. Bank Stadium…….and DAMN! Good concert! Would have been awesome to catch this at First Ave…..🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
a top 3 show ive ever been to by far. first ave with pantera was AMAZING.
It's crazy how much different Zac sounds to Dime. You just can't replicate that kind of greatness.
Zac is a sick guitarist though. Super tight. Just not like Dime, doesn't have the soul or groove that Dime had. He made a guitar talk. And Zac's tone is even different.
It almost like he’s a totally unique individual that’s paying homage to his brother, rather than trying to duplicate every nuance.
Awesome performance gentlemen🤘🤘 many don't realize the Minnesota connection when it comes to both Pantera and Metallica going way back when both bands were first starting off. Glad to see all the shows from both groups coming back some of their oldest fan roots🤘🤘
Where's james and Lars??
James worried zakk might spill beer on him again lol
They were in the restroom sharing a stall.
doing something way better than this tribute band
Parking cars
Thank you for sharing!
I'd love Charlie Benante to stand in for Metallica at a few of their shows. That would be refreshing.
There were a couple shows like 10-15 years ago where Dave Lombardo played a couple songs with them. There’s definitely a video up here of him playing Battery with them.
@timjaeger6589 I've seen that. Back in 2004 at the download festival Dave played Battery and The Four Horsemen with them. He bought a new energy into the band.
I love how Rob and Kirk are these two dudes who always get the weirdest ideas together like those times they’re playing local songs on their shows.
I have a polish significant other and polish friends, and they pointed out to me that Rob and Kirk will come out and play polish songs at the polish shows. Mad respect for them both.
400$ to go see the shitty half of Pantera be 50? Fuck that and fuck them.
I 1000% knew it was 1st ave!!!!!
My birth place.
Wish I was there to have seen that.
Best fucking place on earth.
Best place to see a show.
Side note…met my wife there in the Entry.
