I watch Norman's rare guitars and some kid came on there at 8 years old and smashed it!!! Since then I don't play guitar. I own a guitar.
I feel the same way i have rescently picked up the guitar and also trying metal vocals would like to maskter that more than the guitar but both are difficult
For me it was the other way around, Polyphia inspired me to get back into guitar like 2 years ago, and while I'll definitely won't be as good as them in the the next few decades, it's crazy how far you can come with determination and the right mentality alone.
(currently playing stuff like Bleed by Meshuggah, and learning Tendinitis, The Arena and OD

I actually think Jason is probably one of the most technically proficient guitarists on the scene right now. He has a great ability to blend melody with the "wtf" technique.
Also check out Justin Hombach and Roberto Barros. Hard to touch Jason and these two in terms of technical proficiency.
I'm not gonna lie man, I've been grinding these musicians out lately and damn near ALL of them are so god damn technical. It's so crazy to see music evolve over 3 decades it's insane.

MORE people need to do releases like that, literally unheard of for metal and it brings so much hype and publicity.
Funny enough, the first time i heard Jason was actually as a feature in Polyphia's Aviator, it's cool to see things coming full circle with Tim joining here. I mean, there's no gimmicks, just pure musicianship from everyone, Jason is a monster and Luke is a beast on it's own, but their connection is what brings it in, they were born to play together.
I love how Nik Nocturnal and Stevie T. are so humble that their reaction to others good guitar playing is always "0h wow, i can never play this!" But in reality, Nik & Stevie can and do shred just as well as those they compliment.
His style of zedd's synth lead from addicted to a memory is sooo great 🔥🔥🔥
That classical guitar passage they man. Top 3 of the track. That's just about impossible to do on a classical guitar. But it's Jason Richardson so basically anything is possible.

Every time he mixes those arpeggios with that lead synth, it's so Dream Theater-y.
You need to react to "ASHEN - Hidden"! It has some of the coolest lead guitar riffs I've heard in a minute, and I think more people need to know about them.

Nik nailed it when he said this is the future of guitar-centric music. I’m not sure there is a finer guitarist on the planet than Jason and I know there’s no real way to measure “best” but I’m obsessed with guitar and hate the comparison games usually. But when I see and hear Jason play it’s just a complete different animal entirely. I’m pretty old (48) and I used to think Chris Impelliteri was a different level of speed and technique though not necessarily altogether musically appealing. With Jason…it’s like he doubled Impelliteri’s speed AND threw in a bucket of feel + songrwriting. It’s almost not fair lol. It I’m glad I’m alive to witness this amazing talent in Jason Richardson and really look forward to hearing so much more from him. Oh and LOL at Nik’s last comment that “I suck at guitar”. 😂 Nik if you’re reading this you do NOT suck at guitar but I wholeheartedly know exactly how you feel because i feel like I suck too compared to Jason. As Brian May once said of Nuno Bettencourt, “Not in a month of Sundays could I ever play like him.”

One important step in getting good at guitar is to stop force you threw stuff and just play some music.
For me it was Snow (Hey Oh) and John Frusciante. Once you got into it you can chill to the flow.
@@MrHaggyy i'm not "bad" at playing is more like i have difficulty of getting to the next level like : animal as leader, polyphia, richardson, ichika nito etc ... i know i can sit down and learn à song easily but with those it takes more times. Guess i have juste played to much in my comfort zone so i'm not used to challenge myself anymore
@@stephenmarin872 well thats really ambitious and Tim Henson is a full time for sure. If you watch Tim live you see the same thing with Frusciante, not much effort, light clean and fast movements. It`s like challange your comfort zone that big that you can do the witchcraft those guys do on guitar.
It`s weird to put in words but next to technique training this getting a flow to second nature reduced my effort in playing a lot and helped me step up the game a view times. But i`m far of those guys you mentioned.
