you know what, i agree with you. their international arm is very good when you look at the price. and out of all the times if flown with them (3 times to honolulu and once to bali) they have been very good, the service was great. Jetstar is very good when they are good and compete very well, like id prefer to fly them from australia to japan over VA any day. the 787s are also just so good too. fantastic video as always brother
Yeah, most of the time, Jetstar is a reliable airline. Sometimes they can be off edge, but I've flown them 15 times and I've never really had a huge problem with them. Thank you for watching!
I've only flown one time (arguably 2 but it was for the same holiday so I count it as one) - we used Jetstar and the only problem was the 4 hour delay on the way there. We also flew out of Melbourne, but I don't remember any of the information about it or even really what it looked like (sadly).
Yeah, I've seen that their flights to Thailand can sometimes be very delayed. I remember seeing a flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Melbourne that was once delayed 24 hours! I recall it landing at around 11:00am and appearing red on all schedules, only to realise it was a day late...
We 2 adults are flying in April 2025 with 2 children and 1 infant from sydney to Japan on jetstar with 2 hrs layover in Brisbane. is it enough time to go from brisbane domestic airport to international and finish check in with checked bag considering check in closes 1 hr before take off at international airport so technically we only have 1 hr or less to take checked bags from domestic airport and checkin at international airport. What do you suggest ?
I recommend to have at least 3 hours when connecting from a domestic to international flight. If everything runs smooth and on time, 2 hours can work, but if there is a delay or the bags are late or the check in line is too large, then it might be a stretch. However, I do know people who have made a 50 minute layover before, albiet they had to run across the entire Hong Kong airport, but it is doable.
I fly to Phuket reasonably often from Melbourne. I flew jetstar a couple of times as it is a direct flight and paid extra for exit seats where there is a decent leg room. Their normal seats are far too cramped as i am tallish with long legs. Last time i booked i could not find exit seats, so i flew Singapore Airlines, and after that experience, i will not be returning to Jetstar, even though i pay more on SIA and have to transfer in Singapore. The planes are just nicer, with decent electronic entertainment. The service is excellent, and the food is way better, plus there are no extra charges such as seat selection, luggage, and the exit seat. I will be going back to PKT on SIA in 3 weeks and did not bother to look at Jetstar.
Singapore airlines are by far the best airline in the entire world. However, do keep in mind that Jetstar is a budget airline. They won't offer anywhere near the service as Singapore airlines. If you look at the base prices, you can get to Singapore on Jetstar for $199 (one way). Compare that to Singapore Airlines and you're spending a good $699 (one way). Jetstar's service comes with the price. You get what you pay for. A seat on a plane. That's pretty much it. Budget airlines make customers pay extra for everything else, and that's how they make a majority of their profit. However, Singapore airlines includes absolutely everything in the price and the only add-ons you need to pay for is baggage. That's pretty much it... this is because they are a full service airline. Just a lil break down.
From what I know, onboard payments with Jetstar can be made by using “all major credit card including american express, as well as a debit card with a visa or mastercard symbol”. The flight attendants should say this after you have departed in an announcement to the cabin. Keep in mind that Jetstar does not accept cash for any payments onboard.
I was 1kg over on my carry on luggage and was charged $75 from Syd - Melb. Another example of the Qantas group price gouging and the ACCC should look into this to justify this charge. The whole ticket was $99 lol😂. I have written a complaint and will never fly with the Qantas group again!
Jetstar screws students in New Zealand. At the end of every Semester they triple or quadruple the flights to Auckland for returning Students and ever other poor b***** who flys that date. I had a ticket Dunedin to Auckland during those dates, I bought 14kg hand luggage but my bag split, the replacement bag was slightly over dimensions required for hand luggage so I asked to check it. ‘No they said, it’s not transferable’ every budged airline the world (even Ryan Air) wants to limit the amount of Cabin Luggage. They made me pay NZ$180 excess luggage to Auckland! I could fly to the US with an extra 20kg suitcase from Auckland for NZ$200! Gouging thieves !

Thanks for sharing mate, looked little a pretty fine low cost experience on the Dreamliner. Defs keen to give Jetstar long haul a go one day!
Thanks for watching! Yeah, if you get the chance, give em a shot because there's much worse out there haha
I've been on hundreds of flights, but have never taken a shit on an aeroplane. What's it like, is it as good as they say?
Pretty standard, except the flush never disappoints!

@@AJ_747 maybe should’ve specified it was to the Gold Coast
Do they offer the entertainment package on board? Or whats the go?
They sure do! However, you have to pay to access a majority of the content.

Very nice I am going to Japan in 46 days!
Nice! Enjoy your trip!! :)

@AJ_747 no good having a seat on a plane when it is too cramped making for a miserable flight. Jetstar seats are for little people.
Do they provide blankets on board?
Unfortunately they don't 🤧
How can you pay on plane? I mean can you pay with visadebit/mastercard debit?

Swissport does jet star at Brisbane
Their international routes are usually fine. Did Bali, Japan a few times. All gd.
Yeah I agree. Jetstar are pretty decent when you consider the price.
Although you need to buy entertainment, do they at least have the flight map available?
Yep, the map is free on both domestic and international flights.
Im literally flying jetstar from Townsville to Sydney in sunday 17 of November😂
I am doing the same thing on the 3 of July
Nice! Enjoy your trip!!

Sorry to hear you had a poor experience.
just a tip, try to hide peoples faces if they haven't given their permission.

I will agree… NZ$180 is insane for excess luggage. They do state on their website that it’s more at the airport, but that much more? Bloody hell!
Or you could’ve flown Melbourne to Narita with Japan airlines
Sadly they were a bit outta budget :(
Aww I was expecting you to do a bonza joke....
Maybe next time 🤪
Flying from Sydney to phuket on jetstar was terrible will never do it again
Sorry to hear you had a poor experience with them! What made the flight bad?
