Saw Testament supporting Anthrax on the Spreading the Disease tour from in the front row.. was blown away from the first thud of "Over The Wall" .. that hit HAAAAARD (as did their WHOLE set.. they won over the whole crowd from the first note..) it hit HAAAAARD and I'm really Glad they still do!
In the beginning was there Testament, there I was a small child. At the end there is Testament, I'm 40 years old now. Alpha and the Omega of thrash/speed metal. And they practice what they preach, so shall we, to the end!
From their very first album, which blew us away. It was a perfect time when they hit the scene, and they blew us away! I'm 55 right now, and it's incredible that this style of music actually became popular. Something no one expected, as this style of music was hated by the majority! We used to think "Wouldn't it be great if this stuff is around when we're 50..?". "Yeah, Metallica, like in 30 years from now..?", Lol, "Could you imagine that?!!". We couldn't. Then Metallica was allowed to make a video for MTV. 4th Album, I think..? This was still the 80's, and they're finally allowed Air time. IDT it was until the 90's that "Headbanger's Ball" started. MTV went through "The Grunge period" first, I believe..? We started a band by 90' and didn't watch much MTV(We'd buy CD's. MTV/Live music were the main outlets for music then. Anything but MTV!). Years later, an eternity when you're young, I noticed "Headbanger's Ball" had gotten really popular, and actually carried the channel through the 90's and onward. What they and The Industry thought was unintelligible noise on Steroids in the 80's, is what saved MTV's ass in the 90's. It's an incredible feeling knowing this music has only grown more and more, and only because of fans support for the music, along with an "FU!" to what was being pushed on us by the industry. Much thanks to all fans, from the very beginning, to today, and onwards. It's a real blessing, considering it was totally unexpected to thrive!👍💯🤟🤟🎶🔥🔥

ONE OF MANY EXAMPLES OF WHY METALLICA SHOULD JUST CALL IT QUITS...IM RATHER MORE LOOKING FORWARD TO A NEW TESTAMENT RECORD THESE DAYS THAN A METALLICA RECORD...
i loved Mr Burton but they need to take that huge picture of Cliff Burton out of the practice room and have more love for Mr Trujillo, with his style of playing he's like a reincarnation of Mr Burton but he's got that huge reminder that to them he'll never be good enough to be treated as an equal, and he's still nervous to really stand up to their crap when Large Oilrig gives him a hard time for putting his foot up on the drum riser and i just totally went off the band as people when they were such cnuts to Mr Newsted when all he ever did was try to serve them well

Testament are great live. So many fond memories. One of my favourites was back during the Practice What you Preach tour at Hammersmith with Xentrix supporting. Fans were jumping around so much, that we broke the benches at the Odeon. The three ol' skool classic thrash bands that I think have mostly been consistent in releasing great albums are Metallica (Ignoring the Loaded & St Anger albums - I know it's a few years, but I am glad they are back), Testament & Exodus. Other bands mostly have good songs or good eras. Megadeth were great, but personally I feel that they dropped off after Youthanasia. Overkill have some great albums (Especially 'Years of Decay') as did Sacred Reich ('Surf Nicaragua' is an all time anthem). Suicidal Tendencies up until 'The Art of Rebellion'. Nuclear Assault were consistently good. Anthrax were great up until Joey left and have never been the same since (only my opinion), Atrophy is a great forgotten group with their classic 'Violet by Nature' album. I wasn't too much into the shift to Death Metal -> Black Metal dominating and replacing the thrash scene in the early 90's. Thrash was and still is the best for me. I liked the earlier crossover bands like DRI and I like some of the Hardcore bands that emerged like Sick of it All and Madball, but wasn't really taken up by hardcore punk subgenres like Metalcore & Grindcore. Each to their own. For me... Hail groups like Testament, Exodus & Metallica!!! May they keep producing great songs.
