Obituary does what Obituary does and do it well ! Not Breaking any new ground but one band that has been consistent for 35 years and always put of quality Death Metal.
I'm nearly 50 years old. This album is EXCELLENT. Last year I introduced Obituary to a couple in their 70's who have basically adopted me as their own son and they really like this band and described how much they love the drumming and energy of the whole band. It's phenomenal that a band in such an obscure genre as this can have so much reach and go for this long without compromise and be so successful.
I am 44 been listening to obituary since I was 15 years old and the end complete at this point I do not see any good reason to stop listening to them now even if they disbanded let the Metal Flow

Back in my teen hood in the mid-90's, Obituary was one of my friend's utmost favorite metal bands ever. I was never much into death metal at the time. Pantera and White Zombie were the most extreme thing that seemed to hold my attention. I was mostly into Nirvana, SP, Soundgarden. the only death metal band I could appreciate back then was Cannibal Corpse. Now at 42, I've become a huge death metal fan….Deicide, Nile, Benediction, Bolt Thrower, Morbid Angel…all fantastic bands i love these days. Loving this album. started off just too strong (a good thing)….I can't believe i never gave Obituary a chance back then.
A lot of our openness for / appreciation of music has to do with timing and exposure over time, with earlier exposure to sounds of a similar or comparable nature, and of course with memories attached to the context in which we have listened to the music. I guess what I want to say is: Better late than never. 😊
Plus we didn't have the Internet back then. You'd have to take a punt every time you dropped real hard earned cash on a cd, tape or vinyl that the band/album was good. Or have mates you could tape stuff from into the same scene. I too am having a death/thrash metal renaissance since waking up to streaming and listening again and exploring the music of my teenage angst. Going to see Obituary in August with an old friend. Bring the noize! 🤘😖

I remember listening to Obituary's The End Complete for the first time back in '92 when a friend of mine, who was in an Ultra fundamentalist family, started buying death metal albums out of total youthful rebellion and never looked back, lol. We discovered bands like Death, Entombed, Morbid Angel, Carcass, etc. Great time for Death Metal for sure!
I like the fact they kept their original style. most Death Metal bands don't get my attention except Obituary, Death and Chuck's new Progressive style before he died Control Denied. absolute beauty!!! I listen to Death and control denied alot more than anything else!!!
These guys got me into DEATH METAL in 1991 with CAUSE OF DEATH. I remember standing in CAMELOT MUSIC staring at the album cover, thinking whether the music would be as incredible as the artwork. I went out on a limb, and my mind was blown. A killer new album from them is a great way to start a new year!
In all concerts from on, "Barely Alive" better be the opener after the "Redneck Stomp" intro... That song has a "Words of Evil/Find The Arise" vibe to it. Best song on the album for sure, and I really like the title track a lot, so that says something.

I never liked death metal so much or the obituary but I have to admit that this album is awesome
These guys got me into DEATH METAL in 1991 with CAUSE OF DEATH. I remember standing in CAMELOT MUSIC staring at the album cover, thinking whether the music would be as incredible as the artwork. I went out on a limb, and my mind was blown. A killer new album from them is a great way to start a new year!

I started listening to these guys this year(2023/24) and holy wow! Strong ass sound! I'm ashamed I had not listened to them prior 😢. 🤘🤘

Hell yeah! Obituary are belting out some serious riffage again. Just damn good solid heavy heavy metal. No messing. Production studio sound awesome

Like Slayer, these men never stopped being true to their sound. That’s a testament to brand loyalty, and being damn good at it.
In all concerts from on, "Barely Alive" better be the opener after the "Redneck Stomp" intro... That song has a "Words of Evil/Find The Arise" vibe to it. Best song on the album for sure, and I really like the title track a lot, so that says something.
