It really is something when someone recounts a true story especially a murder. The small details and the ammount of them really paint a picture. The rolling down of the windows. The way his hand slid on the blood on the seat. The smell of the gun powder. How he felt afterwards. It's better than the best author could do because it's the truth.

The best mafia book and history education you could ever read is "I heard you paint houses" by Charles Brandt. I read it in the can last month. Great book. Really tells you how the Mafia started and gained all their power. And YES they did kill JFK. It's all described in detail in this book. You can't compare movies to books. Books are sooooo much more informative and detailed. If you read that book your Mafia IQ will skyrocket

I grew up in NYC and worked in a club in the early eighties and so guys like this, make no mistake his code of ethics is real in terms of soldiers killing soldiers in the MOB. That said, it's hard to disagree with some of his logic and in the end I think he may have been a better boss than Gotti.
History has proven that Gotti's reign was disastrous. Even aside from bringing a ton of heat on everyone in that life because of his narcissism and big mouth, he put his son and older brother in charge of the Gambino family for many years who were both utter disasters as well. Remember, Gotti could've been given a life sentence for his crimes as boss, that would have been that, but his big mouth on all those tapes is what turned Sammy into an informant who put close to 40 guys away in prison in other cases, including testifying against Gigante who was the longtime boss of the Genovese family. Gotti did enormous damage to that life so obviously Sammy would have been a much more competent boss considering the FBI had thousands of hours of secretly recorded tapes on Sammy, but they didn't have one shred of evidence since Sammy did what he was supposed to do and kept his mouth shut.

Amazing at how articulate he is at telling the stories of his life... and with his recall of details that happened 50+ years ago. I also noticed how intently he listened to the interviewer and stays so engaged in the moment, conversationally.

This was an amazing piece👏🏽 Sammy is very articulate and descriptive. I know he kept a lot to himself. You'll never be able to tell EVERYTHING... even if you wanted to but this 2hr and 19mins hit the spot. I especially loved the end when he said, "If you wanna be like me, be like me but just know where your life will end up." This gangster lifestyle is intriguing and a lot of times glamorous but how it ends makes it all NOT worth it🎯

Sammy showed the utmost respect for John Gotti. Sammy was the best thing John had in his life. I can understand how Sammy felt when John was gonna leave him out to dry ,so to speak. Sammy was the perfect example of how to conduct yourself in that life. I would rather work for Sammy than John. I think Sammy was smarter in the way to be evasive. Not out front in the open Pissing law enforcement off, as well as others in the life.
That's what people don't get. Imagine giving your all to someone only to have them throw you under the bus to save their own a**. Sammy would be dead if he didn't do what he did. Gotti was the one who betrayed the oath first, not Sammy.

"We did/do this to ourselves" is perhaps the most honest and prophetic thought/statement I've ever heard from a criminal..
I grew up in NYC and worked in a club in the early eighties and so guys like this, make no mistake his code of ethics is real in terms of soldiers killing soldiers in the MOB. That said, it's hard to disagree with some of his logic and in the end I think he may have been a better boss than Gotti.
Gotti was a horrible boss, so that’s not saying much.
Let's put it this way, Sammy would not just kill the innocent. He won't go out and just thrill kill like gangs of other races would do.
History has proven that Gotti's reign was disastrous. Even aside from bringing a ton of heat on everyone in that life because of his narcissism and big mouth, he put his son and older brother in charge of the Gambino family for many years who were both utter disasters as well. Remember, Gotti could've been given a life sentence for his crimes as boss, that would have been that, but his big mouth on all those tapes is what turned Sammy into an informant who put close to 40 guys away in prison in other cases, including testifying against Gigante who was the longtime boss of the Genovese family. Gotti did enormous damage to that life so obviously Sammy would have been a much more competent boss considering the FBI had thousands of hours of secretly recorded tapes on Sammy, but they didn't have one shred of evidence since Sammy did what he was supposed to do and kept his mouth shut.
There is no way he wouldn't of been a better boss he's smart cold calculated.. he's fucking almost 77 and look how strong he still is and sharp John gotti would be a wash up compared to Sammy as the boss
