Vlad actually does a ton of research to get them to talk about certain stories though. A lot of the guests are impressed that he knew about some of the stuff he talked about. Though, it's a double edged sword in that it can throw the interviewee off a bit.

    • @richieblondet2310
      @richieblondet2310 3 года назад +81

The "Okay" and "Right" doesn't bother me as much as the missed opportunities to probe further. Pasqua III reveals he had been given a murder contract to whack out Michael "Nose" Mancuso, the official boss of the Bonnano family. That's a major revelation. Instead of digging deeper into that account and getting Pasqua III to offer more details about it, Vlad follows it up with "There was a situation with a tuna can?"
      Vlad? Are you serious?
This is why you want a Capeci or Anastasia, or someone a whole lot more informed and full of context to be speaking publicly to guys like Pasqua III. Vlad normally does well interviewing artists, porn stars and bullshit artists like Don Gianni Russo, the capo of all salamis. But this particular interview was sloppy and somewhat unorganized. I realize Vlad does his "homework" on his interview subjects, but let the guy talk and convey his account. Pasqua III is talking about one thing, and Vlad interjects with another. Just ask the guy "What happened next?" Vlad is bringing up specific topics and may unwittingly prevent Pasqua III from touching on something that didn't pop up in Vlad's research that may be just as interesting.

The “ok” is a constant in every interview and it’s because he’s barely, if at all, actively listening.. he has a list of questions and he’s basically waiting for them to finish answering one so he can ask the next.. has ALWAYS annoyed me.. regardless of your opinion on Joe Rogan, he’s an incredible interviewer/conversationalist.. try to think of one time you ever heard Rogan respond to a guest with “ok” followed by another question.. doesn’t happen

@@47ccarte Mainstream TV journalists (Barbara Walters, Mike Wallace, Charlie Rose, etc) Never express anything akin to acknowledgement (like saying "Right" after an anecdote is expressed) or consistently repeat anything off-script (like "uh," or "o-kay.") They are Communication 101 no-no's. Granted, Vlad doesn't have to be constrained to network policies of articulation, etc. He's his own boss. But the interviews could be so much better. There really ought to be more inquiring on his part, as the interviewer. Not just sticking to the 20 questions written on the paper. If a viewer doesn't know who "Publicity Joe" Coffey was, they're not going to know what Pasqua III is talking about when he railed against him. He should have asked him to clarify who Coffey was. Among a bunch of other things.

@@richieblondet2310 totally agree.. you’d think after the endless number of interviews he’s done over the years, he’d have picked up on this and corrected by now.. fortunately he interviews super interesting guests that typically don’t require too much handholding to get their story out, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that these interviews could be that much better if Vlad was a talented interviewer

Frankie Pasqua did what he had to do in this story, and I respect him for his honesty. I have been a prison guard for 36 years and have come up the ranks from a CO to Lieutenant. History on the streets and the life he portrayed exists in the Prisons around the US. We live in the era of what I like to call, "the 911 gangsters". The Prison I work in is dominated by gang members. The bosses or "Shot Callers" do not get their hands dirty. The young convicts or soldiers do all the work on orders by the "Shot Callers", up until they get slapped with a "RICO" or a felony ticket for attempted murder, felony assault, or some major misconduct. These young convicts that were doing a nickel bid, may now be facing a quarter or open life. They are quick to call "911" to talk to the cops or the term we like to use is "Grab a KARAOKE book and start singing songs". There's an old saying, "There's no honor among thieves". Frankie this world that we live in is not a perfect world and if it was, we wouldn't need Prisons, policemen, armies, etc. In the world we live in youngsters need to be taught the value of a good education and respect. I have worked hard for the life the I have provided for my family, and it is a simple life. My family is healthy, happy, and there is a lot of love. Thats what I'm proud of. You have an opportunity to try and fix what was broken and make a better life for you and your family. Hopefully your blood relatives come to their senses and returns the love that you still have for them. I wish you the best in your future journey.

And ... did it ever occure to you that your are nothing but an enforcer in a uniform?
How many people did you beat to a pulp or allowed to being beaten to a pulp in your "career"?
There is no difference between the guards and the inmates.
Just that one can pretend to be just following a decent job where as the other cant.
But in the end ... there is no difference whatsoever.
You are bound by omerta towards your buddy guards and if you would ever brake that code of silence they would just have you whacked.
In fact, you belong to a criminal organisation yourself. You just are dishonest enough to deny it while the mobsters are proud of it and stand by their actions and non-actions. You don't ...

This is not spam, genuine, long ass reply lol.
Google is completely censored, everyone use brave browser, also doesn't have literally 1000s of trackers like the others. Do side by side searches to see the insane bias for yourself.. anywayy.
Great comment man. Respect to you. You seem like a fair & just guy. Prisons need those. I've been locked up and went to prison (for fkn weed). & let me tell you, your life is essentially in the hands of the COs. They have all the say & all the power. As you know.
So if there's cool COs in your unit, your life can be ya know, under the circumstances, pretty good. Not more stressful than need be & a lot of them will joke and clown with you. & if you prove you're a decent human & trustworthy, may give you a little freedom or extra yard time, not strip search you every time you leave the pod or what have you.
But if you have shitty, power trippy COs then they can so easily make you hate your life & make it a living hell, sometimes over the littlest things or even nothing at all. You're at their mercy. Whether they're just having a bad day or they're just a garbage person. & it doesn't have to be all of them, 1 pretty bad one or a bad/strict superior can negate alllll the cool ones. Bc they can't act super chill with you if the white shirt has a stick up his ass or they'll get in trouble. & they'll replace him with sergeant shitdick. There's SO many little things they can do to make your life worse.. & prison is allll about the little things, bc it's all you have.
Just not making you stand up and or come to the door at the morning count is a cool thing to do.
Majority aren't there to make your life worse, if you give respect you get it. But its these young egotistical usually short dudes trying to compensate that act all hard & will shit talk inmates (& depending who it is, especially if its an OG lifer, can be a critical mistake for them) or the old really bitter guys. ones that usually haven't moved up the ranks (wonder why) that terrorize people for no reason.
Destroy people's cells & what not. most guys that have been down a while, have a specific routine & understandably don't like it interfered with. So many dudes that are 45 been down 25, but still look 25 (not working a hard job your whole life has its benefits) & are fkn jacked, looking like NFL linebackers in their prime.
Getting off topic but ya, I can say that there's a lot of inmates that really aren't bad people, & really appreciate COs that are nice and cool. Especially when you deal with a POS for a while, really appreciate cool ones.
This one old army wannabe would patrol the whole unit early every morning for 20 minutes yelling talking shit & if you didn't get up he'd write you up. I was on phone, commissary anddd can't think of the 3rd thing? Restriction. So I can't call, get food or whatever the 3rd one is.. just for sleeping in. So Fkn stupid. A total dickhead. (Obviously I just used other people's phone and commy but that's an inconvenience)
Even tho I had often 2 jobs, took multiple classes, took the GED class even tho I have a diploma, just to refresh & to help out guys trying to get their GED and ya know, better themselves. I've always liked helping others.
But ya, seems you're a good guy, unless you're in a really bad or high level prison, I know you said there's a lot of gangs. I definitely saw heinous stuff. I know for a fact you've seen a ton. Can only imagine. Stuff that people on the street literally can't fathom. & couldn't deal with.
People also automatically assume if you're in or went to prison you're a shitty sketchy person. Which they are not only very ignorant but have no idea of the pathetic & crooked/unjust justice system we have in this country. & how many people get or are locked up that shouldn't be. So many for drugs or fkn child support. Prison, for child support. Make it make sense.
While THERES SOOOO MANY THAT SHOULD BE UNDER THE PRISON YET WILL NEVER see in the inside of a cell.
The statistics in regards to incarceration & the public money that gets dumped into these fucking prisons is staggering.
I don't remember but I mean it's like 135k or something per inmate a year in Cali, with like over half going to medical BS when people get the most trash "care" ever in there. Can only imagine the number of 1000s of people that have died or severely declined in health due to lack or improper care. I know the food & drinks are absolutely horrible for you.
I got my number in 2016, case from 2014, couldn't take my POS PO anymore. But 2 months ago I got arrested, exercising on my bike with my dog, for missing court over a petty ticket.
I've studied health/nutrition the last 3 years, I was looking at the back of the "juice" carton they give everyone. & literally every single of the like 11 ingredients are disease, tumor, cancer, neurodegenerative causing.
& I know for a fact it was the exact same with the bologna sandwich, chips cookie all of it. that bread, "meat" mayo all of it. Literally is just preservative (absolutely awful, our body can't process any of it, extract nutrients anything) ridden, carcinogens, toxins the whole thing. It's insane, & especially those guys have no idea. I know I didn't. Live on Ramen, that has enough salt for a week in every pack lol.
Just crazy man. I read a lot, lot of books. Sometimes 6 hours a day. Take my dog on long walks reading one. We're getting sicker and more obese every day, every year. All 150% by design.
Doubtful but if anyone's still reading this, an easy eye opening book (like 7$ on the website, free but pay shipping when I got it. Instead of 25 on Amazon) living good daily by dr.livinggood. it's also a workbook, recipes etc. 21 day plan. Very simple, 10 minute a day exercises. Has helped 1000s get off 10 diff pills, reverse chronic diseases. Yes hes a real Dr lol. The first sentence on the back is America has 4% of the world population, & takes 75% OF ALL THE "MEDICATION".
Doesn't say it in that book but I've done a dickton of research & every single "medicine" has harmful substances, actually makes you worse. While masking it and ONLY EVER treats the symptoms, never the root cause. I've still never found a pill that doesn't make things worse. Almost always, the exact thing you're taking it for. Alzheimers medicine speeds it up (proven by neurologists) alllll by design.
Ibuprofen causes inflammation. Chemo/radiation MULTIPLIES cancer cells, says it in a government study called "cancer is a preventable disease" that I recommend everyone read. It's very long but mostly very accurate and has lots of good info, including a lot of the things that reverse cancer.
Real medicine comes from the earth, not a lab. They don't want you to know that basically any ailment in the world, you can grow the cure for in your backyard. A root, leaf, bark, herb, whatever has the compounds that heals your specific thing. for anyone that cares about their or others health (I was adopted but i lost my parents and gparents all by age 24 & I have numerous issues, debilitating back pain everyday. due to food and drugs, being fed happy meals 3 times a day as a toddler, appendix ruptured @ 4 & I almost died. Weeks in hospital, learn to rewalk. From what took me over 20 years to realize due to happy meals. 28 can't grow facial hair. On and on)
Doctors have never proven viruses exist, or how they're spread. All these covid tests are lies. People die from the build up of toxins and METALS (mostly UNregulated, just like the most toxic pesticides. METALS IN BABY FOOD ISN'T REGULATED) weak immune systems, not a virus. (Sugar paralyzes your immune system & feeds cancer cells) Look up dr.rosenau 1919 Spanish flu study for proof. on website called medium.
An article called what you didn't know about polio, absolutely flooring, also on that site. If you're using Google (bad decision) you gotta dig. Listen to Joe Rogan episode with Robert epstein to hear about his company and studies on that, election, voting manipulation by Google, that he proved.

I always laugh when they say things like "we didn't go afters civilians, we only went for each other", a big part of their cash came from protection of local businesses, but if the local folks don't pay their business will be burnt down or the poor guy will get his legs broke.

Facts. Theres a interview where Sammy the bull talks about John Gotti ordering him to go see Don King to rig some boxing fights. And if Don King disagreed Sammy was ordered to kill Don King by shooting him dead on the spot if he refused. Their cool in the movies but dealing with them in real life is dogshit.

Despite what u see on the sopranos, extorting local businesses for "protection money" is sumthn that quit happening very much at all since Rico became the easiest way to start putting mobsters in prison. I'm not saying it didn't keep happening after that or that it doesn't still go on, I'm saying it's definitely no where near there bread and butter or biggest earner anymore. Most of the time they extort people like Don king, who someone in comments mentioned, who may not b apart of the mob but aren't exactly who u would call legitimate or civilians. Don king was a shit bag anyway from a long time ago like most people that they try to extort

Someone said that “it’s not because vlad does good interviews, but he’s got great guests who have great stories to share on his platform” and I completely agree. Vlad ISNT a good interviewer, the guy asks random questions, bounces around too much, doesn’t let people fully explain before butting in with either another question unrelated to what their currently speaking on, or tries to insert his version that he hears from wherever he hears these things prior to the interviewee even speaking on the subject, in my opinion he does that Cus he wants to seem like he already knows everything there is to know about that story or subject even tho he doesn’t Cus he wants to seem like a Fuckin know it all. This is why I very rarely watch Vlad interviews anymore. But frankie is a phenomenal guest and I’m glad I checked this out Because frankie actually was able to speak on these stories

I have watched hundreds of interviews with ex-members of motorcycle gangs, crips, bloods, Mexican mafia and the Aryan Brotherhood. The attraction for young men to join these gangs are pretty much for three reasons, first is they crave Respect, second is they want to be part of some sort of Brotherhood and lastly it’s to make money. I have learned that in these gangs, there is no real respect other than through fear and intimidation. There definitely is no brotherhood when it really matters, and very few of these people make any real money to build a quality life on. I have also watched hundreds of interviews with military personnel and professional athletes. It seems that in those two professions, many men find real respect, and true brotherhood, and most of them seem to find opportunity to at financial stability in which they can provide for families and have a positive impact on the lives of others. I pray more young people will steer in the latter direction as we are in a generation that likes to make rock stars out of criminals and murderers while frantically looking for reasons to destroy our American hero’s.
