- My Samsung dishwasher was showing the LC Code for quite awhile and after doing temp fixes i decided it was high time to actually fix it so here is my resolution video on how I did it.

This actually worked!!! Hallelujah. The dishwasher was driving me crazy and constantly sensing water (after each wash). All the screws were loose. I tightened them up and the sensor error hasn’t happened since!!! Thank you so much. This is a Permanent and easy fix, unlike the videos which say you need to remove the the dishwasher from the counter and flip it over and move the water sensor. You, sir, are a genius. For the first time in months we can regularly use our dishwasher.
Daniel, thank you for this video. It was a one-minute fix to tighten those screws, and I seem to have fixed the problem. No LC code for the past week! I found your video after watching two or three other videos that said to move the sensor, etc., and none of them figured out where the water was coming from! This is brilliant!
Thanks for the video. I found 2 of the blue lights blinking on the control panel on top of the door of my Samsung dishwasher. I searched RUclips and found your video. That was exactly what was wrong with my dishwasher too. I tightened all the screws and was amazed at how loose they had become on a machine that is only a few years old. After fixing the piece of crap I noticed a little bit of water damage to the floor at the edge of the kitchen island right next to where the dishwasher sits. Nothing is built to last anymore and that is sad. My mom had an old KitchenAide dishwasher (when KitchenAide was still made by KitchenAide) she bought new in the 70’s and it lasted until she died 2009.
This was the fix. Great job finding this. I looked at it close and found that those screws connect the motor to the tub with a simple gasket and tightening this screws seal that gasket. Awesome.

Thanks! I did this and a couple other things, not sure which fixed it so I will drop them here for future viewers:
1. Pulled out the dishwasher and cleaned/dried behind it (remember the cabinet screws)
2. Pulled the shelves out of the dishwasher and towel dried the inside walls
3. Pulled out the filter and cleaned/dried the area where it sits (it had quite a bit of water)
4. Tightened all the screws like he did in the video
5. Tightened the cabinet screws and fixed the brackets to where the washer sat level
You were spot on. The screws in mine were so loose that when I tighten them up crap was push out of the seal. I also when a step further and removed the drain pan from the bottom to dry it. Removed the leak sensor and blew it off as well. Fixed my problem. Thank you.
Thanks so much for this video! Here's what I did... Unplugged the dishwasher power, shopvac'd all the water out, let it sit and dry out for about 12 hours, tightened up those screws you mentioned in your video, plugged the power back in and now it's good to go!
From what I can tell you are absolutely correct that rising the water leak sensor is a BAD idea. I have videos of this where they move the sensor out of the catch pan and on a lip above. By the time the water reached there the entire house would flooded LOL. You found the reason for the small amount of moisture to collect in the tray and cause the fault. Very well done my man you come top of the list on this one. Build your channel lad you think the right way.

I've been dealing with this issue for a while. Geek Squad has worked on it about a dozen times, and I was told that we may not be loading the racks the right way....... I appreciate your video and will check the screws.
Hey guy thank you for posting this video. I had the same problem. I removed the dish washer. Unscrewed the bottom and dryed the sensor and plate. Then I tightened the screws you showed me and YES they were loose! Water was leaking through. You saved me about $300. Thanks again man

A couple small washers added between the pan and the water sensor might be enough to raise it to an operational level, not leak and still function. Your find on the loose screws was a great idea for repairing the leak.
Found your video about a month ago and wanted to say thank you! My dishwasher was fine for about 2 years then started having the LC code. I found I would not get the issue when using express 60 + Sanitize + Hi-Temp wash (and even storm wash on occasion) but would continue to happen if I did the Heavy wash + Sanitize + Hi-Temp which is is about 2x as long of a wash cycle. So for the last year or so I've just stuck with that. After tightening the screws, one of which required about four full revolutions to get snug, I have not had an issue and use it at least once daily back on the Heavy + Sanitize + Hi-Temp. We hate our Samsuck dishwasher and the stove that goes out of heating calibration and the refrigerator that has the worst ice maker on earth. The LC code has been serviced 3 times under warranty and its doing it again.
I saw your comment, and not sure if you'll see this or already know, but Samsung is now fixing the icemaker issue for free. Just call their 1-800 number and tell them the problem. A tech came out five months ago and installed a new motherboard, sealant, and gave a new ice bin since my previous one had cracked when trying to remove it while frozen - all for free on my 3.5 yr old fridge (well out of warranty). I haven't had an issue since. Apparently the new motherboard goes through more frequent thaw cycles which at least fixed my issue. The tech also told me they are standing behind the work so if it ever happens again to call and they'll replace - and if it is very frequent you'll potentially receive a new refrigerator.

I've had a small leak that gives us an LC code and shutdown. Could not figure it out until I saw this video. Went inside my Samsung - sure enough - screws at the pump and the WaterWell mechanism - loose... Thank You!!!!
Thank you for this, it was dripping right under the screws dripping off the shield for the electrical connection. Some of the screws were quite loose, saw water push out of the seal when tightened. Hope it works.
I was working on mine tonight and these screws were a little loose on mine as well. After tightening the screws and disconnecting/cleaning/reconnecting the inner drain connections, it's back up and running. So I'm not sure which individual thing solved it, but thanks for the video!
Great tip. That seemed to resolve my issue. Every screw at the base of the dishwasher needed to be tightened.
I took the vent apart on the door , and it was blocked with greasy stuff removed the white plastic cover and cleaned the diaphragm with a tooth brush pushing down on it to get real clean on the edge for a good seal when reassembling make sure to realign the arrow on the plastic cover and reinstall the stainless cover ,
clean also the bottom of the drip edge on the plastic evaporation chamber for buildup great video

This sounds like it might be the right solution. Thanks!! It would be nice for someone to post their unit has been running a year without issue. Mine only does this about once every 3 or 4 months. I didn't have to tighten mine very much, some 1/4 turn some closer to 3/4 turn.

Tried ur fix on a newer model of Samsung (apparently they use Torx screws now 🙄). Gave em all a half-turn, I'll let u know how it goes. Thank u for posting this Daniel. 😁

Just tried your fix, was able to tighten the screws a very, very little but they did turn with reasonable effort. So hoping this stops the leak error. I really like the dishwasher except for this. Running it now and with any luck several more times after with this fix. Will post in a few weeks if this did the trick. Thanks

Thanks so much for that advice. I looked at other places and nothing was sending up a red flag. Very small leak, so hard to locate. I got a quarter turn as well on each screw. Thanks
Just installed a new one at home... had we seen these videos i might have gotten a different one. After the 1st load this error came up. Hopefully with tightening the screws we can avoid this issue.

I found all my screws were pretty loose. Tightened them and am hoping the sensor dries out on its own because im not able to pull it out to do it manually. The plug for my dishwasher is also behind it which is also annoying so I'm going to have to let it keep going until it stops or until Lowes can find someone to come and do it. Glad i purchased the extended warranty!
Encountered the same LC code on a less than 1 year old Smart Stormwash DW80B7070US. Just like what the video describes, the screws were not tight and could be the culprit of the leak. The Smart Sormwash has 4 Star-shape screws, not Phillips, and one of them is hidden below the spray arms, which needs to be removed in order to expose the hidden one. Make sure don't strip the screw! Don't attempt if you don't have the right screw driver/bit. Also that hidden screw has the most looseness among 4. I didn't remove the bottom panel to expose the leak sensor, instead I removed the back panel, use paper towel to absorb the liquid and cold-air blow dry that sensor. Samsung could have used something like Loctite at the beginning.
I did reposition the leak sensor. I left it in the catch pan but I turned it upside down (sensors pointing up). I pulled the side panel to make sure it wasn't up against anything. It wasn't, and there was a lot of room. above it.
Something else to try, thanks for posting the video. I get the LC error everyother wash. I dont risk more than the hour wash nowm.

Thanks for the tip. I was able to tighten all those screws at least a turn and some more. I'm trying to avoid pulling the machine out by blowing a fan underneath it for a while to dry up any water in the pan. We'll see how it goes.

I see Samsuck in these comments and I'm really over this brand. My parents replaced their refrigerator and bought Samsung 3 months in and the ice maker fails. The Dishwasher is 2 months old and now it is giving a LC error code. There is no water on the floor and it is under warranty. I am disgusted. They had a Bosch for 8byears. It had a leak senor malfunction and the parts weren't available. After waiting 4 months and washing dishes by hand they told their home warranty company to get stuffed and made them replace the dishwasher. Why did I pick this for them? Now they are stuck with 4 Samsuck products.
I've had my Bosch for 20 years. I refuse to give it up, and have had to repair it a couple of times, but it cleans the dishes very well, being designed back in the days before the liberal government water nazis decided you should be able to get your dishes clean with a teaspoon of water.

Just tightened mine. One of them was 3 full turns loose. Goo oozed out from where it seals. Hoping that was it 🤞🏼

Mine leaks from.the front
From the front I'm unsure on what would cause that. This was a leak from the bottom of the dishwasher.
1 Check the circular vent in the door. If the actuator is stuck open water will leak at the bottom of the door during wash cycle. It is only supposed to open after the wash cycle to let the dishes dry.
2. Replace the black gasket that goes along the sides and top where the door closes onto the tub.
3. Replace bottom door gasket. This usually requires the front panel of the door to be removed and the door hinges removed from the dishwasher.
4 If the door switch is worn the door might not click into place as tightly. Check if this is the problem by holding the door closed more tightly during the wash cycle to see if the leak stops. If so replace the switch.
5. Some models have small black lip seals at the hinges that may have come loose.
6. If the dishwasher is overfilling or tilted forward. this should actually be step 1 to check.
You mean Samsung NOT a dishwasher. Broken or fixed, it doesn’t clean dishes anyway.
Agreed, tampering with the Sensor is a No No, There is a reason water got down there.
So, I did as you did, and It fixed my leak, But now it will not Stay Powered up, ran it through a Cycle, watched it last night, all was Good, this Morning had No Power, so Unplugged it again, plugged back it, and In the Process of another Cycle again, to see if it Stays Powered up.
I ended up tightening the pump from the bottom side that so far is fixed my problem.
Our Samsung dishwasher lasted just 4 years and when it started with all those leaking problems, we just threw it in the garbage and got a new one from a better brand. Samsung appliances suck.
Maybe Samsung should make GARBAGE Disposals! 🙂

I would agree that Samsung dishwashers are sub par.
Samsung top load washers and dryers are better than most.
Samsung Front load clothes washers are complete and utter garbage and I cannot stress that enough.
Samsung Refrigerators are almost exactly the same quality as a GE.
Samsung Televisions are a higher quality for the price compared to LG and most others
Garbage all modern appliances are absolute garbage .
