I just love the fact that they did a special kind of piece of music for almost every episode of the show. They didn't have to do that, but it's another detail of the show that we appreciate. Jeremy Zuckerman is an absolute legend and it shows and the one for The Cave of Two Lovers sounds VERY similar to Leaves From The Vine... *I'm tearbending again*
No question, Avatar The Last Airbender was the best series to ever air on Nickelodeon, and Avatar The Legend Of Korra was also great despite having more problems. And to anyone who wants to argue that Spongebob Squarepants is better, it isn't but just gone on longer and rewatch Seasons 7 through 9 and tell me that every 4th episode isn't bad.
There are many AMAZING Nickelodeon cartoons and shows, and as much as I love Spongebob, the first time I saw Avatar, the instant bond I had with that show is just unforgettable, I quickly became addicted, and back then it wasn’t on Netflix, even though the series ended before I was born, when I first found about it, 4-7 years ago I didn’t really cared much, up until 2 years ago, i didn’t dislike the show, I loved it, but the past 2 years, it’s just somehow more impactful, the undesirable feeling of joy, and it is safe to say that Avatar is one of the best shows that ever existed
I would also like to add that the light that appeared when Aang came out of the ice berg was the same light as when he took Ozai’s bending away. Perfect way to tie the beginning to end.
Another thing to add to that episode is when Ozai breaks Aangs little rock iceberg. It ties back to the guru episode. The lessons with the first pool of engery to unblock. "First we will open the Earth Chakra, located at the base of the spine. It deals with survival, and is blocked by fear. What are you most afraid of? Let your fears become clear to you." And ofcourse Aang's vision was of Firelord Ozai. So in that instant of the fight... Aang was concerned for his survival unable to let go of his fear. Knocked out of his little earth iceberg (boy in the iceberg -> avatar aang) and knocked into his wound which tada is located at his Earth chakra.
@Cactus Juice Sokka Scary, yeah. Dark, no. There is that time that Aang drоwnеd an entire аrmy and that time that Ozai&Co. burned аlivе everything and everyone that dwеllеd in that forest.

Another thing iroh says to zuko when zuko wanted to learn "the advanced set" is that firebending comes from the breath and not the muscles. It would be on theme. Sailors took live tortoise with them on ships because they were able to survive for months with minimal food, so were a great source of fresh meat on long journeys.
if you're going to be pointing out intro details you can't forget about the earth bender being rokus earth bending teacher, who was the original art concept for toph
Miyuki, the herbalist's cat, was a pure breed long before Bosco was introduced. And it managed to get in trouble with the Fire Nation off screen. Yet no one remembers legendary Miyuki...
Idk if you can call most of these as easter eggs. Most of them are technically called "Foreshadowing". Also, there is also another animal that is not hybrid which is the earth king's bear (maybe this is skipped to avoid spoiler).

I think the Avatar The Last Airbender videos should have also shown Katara taking care of Aang after he was burned by Azula when she fire bended lightning. The videos should have shown Katara putting Aang to bed and getting him up the next morning.
he was in an air bubble but the ice just naturally formed around the sphere so he was still just airbending despite being in the avatar state, methinks =]

He directed 7 other episodes in the first series, including "The Avatar Returns" and "The Siege of the North: Part 2".

Aang did not waterbend to get frozen in the ice. He used airbending but that froze underwater causing him to be stuck untill Katara let him free. Im DECENTLY sure thats what happened but i might be wrong
Something I realized is that the cycle that comes before Aang is one that follows the natural course of decay of life. It started with avatar Yang Chen, who, like a mother, gave birth to a world filled with peace beauty on its face, but without spiritual maturity. Then, the Avatar of the surf (I'm sorry) and Kyoshi represented the childhood and teenage years of the world. All of its small conflicts, in an attempt to find itself. And finally, there was Roku, the twilight years of the world. When it finally started the journey towards its end. When the world finally started releasing its final breaths.
3:48 when the light from Aang getting out of the iceberg appears and creates the Northern lights, showing he is back after a long time, it's the same thing that happens when Korra opens the Southern portal, showing the south is "connected with the spirits" again after a long time.
