if have at least 4 to 6 hours of sun light at your house then buy a solar panel for spotlight camera that help keep the battery charged

I’ve just changed my home hub and new wi fi, now my cameras won’t work on the app, it was the same with the doorbell but I managed to get that paired with new wi fi but the cameras still have problems!
Having the same issue.. changed internet providers and couldn’t change my security cameras over. Doorbell one worked fine

Hi i would like to know does this spotlight plus battery camera has a motion settings does it has a motion setting with a voice saying that the person is being recorded when they come into my zone. i know it has an alarm.
I got the spotlight camera because I wanted the spotlight to come on with motion at night as a deterrent to crime. However, I have determined that with a dim 60W porch light and the camera in a corner under that light, the spotlight does not come on! It will only come on if completely dark with the porchlight off. This seems silly. The camera knows what time of day it is so should know the porch light is "artificial" and not daytime light. Ring thought at first the spotlight should definitely come on in any circumstance as long as light set to ON with motion at night but then said it will not come on if you have a porch light. I can't believe this can be true and if so, that there is not some workaround. Hope someone can help.

i am having trouble after my router went out i finally got the doorbell to connect on my new wifi but cant seem to get the spotlight cam to connect. no one explained how to reset the spotlight cam & i've about tried every conceivable way to reinstall on new router system
i finally figured out what was wrong,,,i had to take the cam down & move it to the room where the router was,,,then it connected to the router, then i remounted it outside. too great of a distance to connect thru walls although it will read thru them after the connection was synced up close by
Dude you didn’t answer anything about how to fix the WiFi issue. You just pointed out the problem and I’m getting super pissed at this thing. Especially cuz my WiFi is only being judged so harshly by this little bad word
Glad you brought this up. I replaced my WiFi router. I still have issues because my internet provider gave me a worse router than original. My new fix will be to buy a high end router that will support all my devices. I got TV’s, computers, cameras, phones, vacuum, etc.
We ended up exchanging this model for the slimmer version ruclips.net/user/postUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU because it was too wide for the only door trim area that made sense to mount it on. However, we should have just noted the dimensions prior to purchasing. Otherwise, we love the doorbell. It works perfectly, and the video is very clear, even at night.
How do I change the ownership settings of a ring spotlight cam
From the app, remove device. Then reinstall it with new user. Hope that helps.

I agree ☝️ with you! I need quick access to that notification button. That toggle switch, that is.
Real talk, the “smart alerts” when set on “people” sucks. It misses all people most the time. So it made me think the camera is trash after two years old. But when i turn on smart alerts for “other motion” then it works fine. So the problem is not the camera motion sensors. Its the “people” alerts program that is not up to par. So the work around is set the “other motion” to on. And then you never miss anything. The only down side is you will get cats and racoons and possoums that walk at 3am in the morning. But, its the price you have to pay in order to not miss when a “person” or “people” get in front of your cam. Hopefully ring hires better programers and fixes the “people” alerts so that it can actually record all “people” instead of missing 90% of them with the current program.
Why does onw battery read unknown power when the other one is in use? Mine hasnt been switching over to the other battery
Quick question. We just set up our battery stick up camera above our garage today. I realized we weren’t getting notified even when we walked to go get the mail when we were clearly in our blue zone. So I adjusted the settings to the most sensitive mode but then it was taking recordings of every single car driving by even though I have it set to people only. It was taking recordings, we still weren’t getting noticed every time. I’ve made sure all my slider buttons were on. But it seems like standard isn’t sensitive enough and the sensitive one was too sensitive. Is there a fix for this???
Hi. The motion sensor is tricky. It resets for a minute after it’s been triggered. This means it’s kinda hard to do a rapid test if you’ll call it that. I’ve pulled the battery out and then put it back in. Sometimes it fixes the issue. Weird, I know, but sometimes it helps. Also reset router, delete the app and reinstall. Good luck
How do you close it? I don’t know why it’s so hard to close it once I change the battery 😢 the hatch keeps popping open on me.. any tips?

Any ideas as to why mine has randomly stopped sending me notifications to my phone, everything is on/blue infact I haven't changed anything at all but the notifications have stopped ? Please help
Android or iPhone? Check settings of phone 📲 notifications to see if they’ve been turned off. Update the app. Uninstall everything and start from scratch. Make sure data on your phone is on in background. WiFi connection. Good luck and can you come back and let us know what worked? Thanks for coming through.

Hello, I had a question on the "motion zones". I keep seeing where the range of motion detection can be changed simply by adjusting the area in blue. I am not able to do so on my app. I only have the option of turning on or off the motion detection on particular areas....
pinkwall5 what exactly are you trying to do? Turn off the camera per say? If so, then go to settings and select privacy settings. Rather than using the “zone” features you’ll be able to completely block an area of the frame for recording. Hope this helps. Reply if this helps or not. Let us know. Thanks 🙏

My spot light cam solar won't show any signs of life. I took the battery out to charger until it is full (Showed green). I popped it in and waited 30 seconds, won't turn on. I also tried pushing the top button and also holding the button. Nothing. HELP!
Shawn Hutayana if it’s still receives power(not completely dead), do a complete reset. Disconnect it from the app. Then reinstall it. See if that helps.

No, you need that WiFi and cloud storage.
Hello my only question is can’t someone reach up and take out the battery’s? There’s no screw like on the Ring Doorbell to remove the battery.
Edgar H252 yeah! That’s a problem. You can pop them batteries out easy! But by then they are on the cloud ☁️

How to make these spotlight camers resistant to temperature changes? So it doesnt fog. I used rainx defogger it works like 2 weeks. I was looking for a better alternative.
Killmonize Productions I have the same problem with the fogging. I don’t have a solution yet. Hopefully someone will comment with a good idea.

At night, will you see the red light that most cameras have? I sort of want one that no one knows is there lol do any lights come on at night?
Also, does the spotlight turn on automatically at night? if I go in the app would there be a setting where I can turn off automatic spot light and just use night vision? Or is it a non changing setting?
Yes, red lights turn on for night vision. Yes, you can set the spotlight to turn on or stay off when motion is detected.
Is there a way to bypass the battery door open error? Where are the sensor switches? My door is closed but I keep getting the battery door open message on the app.
VietPho unfortunately I’ve had this problem too! You gotta keep trying to close it. Make sure it’s tight. That’s really the only way. Also close the app out and restart it after you’ve shut the battery door. Also, try wiping it down before you close it.
Same problem here. We can close the door, listen to it click, and the same error message. So far, the Ring is a POS.
Without watching the whole video because I’m impatient but does anyone know how to reset these things if they won’t connect to WiFi? There’s nothing wrong with my WiFi it’s been reset hard reset and all my devices connect except the ring cameras

Okay so I just got this camera its installed and everything but the only way I can view the camera is if there is motion besides that it doesnt pop on my ring app so I can see it live when I want it. It only shows my ring doorbell on the app can someone help please
Select the device. Click video settings button/square. Then toggle the live view button. Hope this helps.
Would love some help with mine! First I got one approximately 3 weeks ago. I didn’t have the ability to get it mounted before heading out of town, so I left it on a table outside. While I was gone I would get alerts and could check it out and it was fantastic. Also, it rained a lot. At some point the camera stopped working and I was never able to get it to even power on. My app would only say something about WiFi issues, so I removed the device to start over, but there was no power.
This was with 2 batteries installed. I searched for help and could find nothing on that issue. I was able to exchange for another one. Got second one this past Friday and set went well. However it will not pick up motion except for random occasions. I’ve checked my settings, not reason to expect this. Any thoughts?

Since this video I got another camera. A couple in the front yard and a couple in the back yard. I’ll probably get a stick up cam for my side yards. These bad boys are expensive. But I like the ecosystem/platform etc .
I would one just like yours and I’m having a problem we charge it all day and let it turn green and we put it back in the camera and try to set it up it doesn’t flash and it doesn’t turn on and I have to try to restart by holding it 20 secs on the button it doesn’t either and I take out the battery and I charge it again and it still says it’s not fully charged I’m not sure what to do anymore
The Royal Rubios Hi 👋 Try uninstalling the app and reinstalling it. Start from scratch and make sure you set it up near your WiFi router before you mount the camera. You’re basically starting over. Try it out. If it works come back and let us know.
why do I keep getting the "battery door open" message when it is not? Battery is 100%, wifi signal is great (less than 20ft away), no debris
I’ve had same problem. Open and close it tight. Then open and close app. It will eventually work. Make sure it does close though. It’s frustrating for sure.

Is it possible to have 2 separate cameras (I have 2 properties) onto the app on my phone? When I added the new one it's deleted the other one. HELP!!
I believe you have to run 2 accounts per say. Per WiFi router. That may be the issue. Just a

Start the process over from scratch but do it near your router. When it connects, then remount it at your desired location. Hopefully your router isn’t to far from your mounting point. Try it out.

I have a question sir. Does this record audio as well? My gf has one in her home and it does not record the audio from the recordings it gathers. I’m starting to think it’s damaged.

I noticed audio pick up will delay in some recordings I’ve had. 2 or 3 seconds of muted audio then it kicks in. Maybe WiFi connection? Good luck 😀

Yes. I set up a few of mine to stay on for a minute and a half. Every camera has its settings section and record length option. I think that’s the max unless your are viewing live.
I assume it writes to a micro sd card - is that true - what is max size of card
No. It’s cloud based. You can download the clips to your phone though. Super easy.
Very good review love it! Can I ask a question that I cant find the answer anywhere. If I temporary want to turn of (completely) my outdoor camera (not the motion sensor) for example If we have a dinner outsides with friends and dont want the camera on. =) Cheers from Sweden
Hey 👋 thanks for watching! Each camera has privacy settings so can make “privacy zones”. You can literally block out sections of the frame for each unit. You can find the options in the settings button. 👍 hopefully this helps. Thanks Sweden 🇸🇪

got a 1.5 watt solarpanel for $15 from harbor freight and changed plug for charger to work, now one camera wont work at all???????????????
Try a different battery 🔋 Using off brand charger may have ruined the battery. Come back and let us know if that helps.

We're having a hard time putting the camera into the mounting bracket on the house. It's such a tight fit and won't pop in. Is there a secret?
Loosen the screw on the side of the base. It’s on the side right where the camera would push in
Don’t forget to tighten that screw back up once you get the camera in it’s place! Reminder! (Just in case)

Try to insert the fully charged battery , and do it properly.....then press and hold the "setup button" for 20 seconds. If that does not work ... then your battery terminals are damaged and is beyond repair. if you are on warranty, good.....if not then buy a new one like ring tells you to do lol. This company is a joke
How long does the battery last when fully charged ?
Not very long at all. Weeks. The solar panel I believe trickle charges the spotlight! Once I installed the solar panel I have not had to touch it!! Get the solar panel. Works like a charm.
The battery lasts normally 6 months for normal usage.

Mine works then loses wifi connection even though its right by router [works like 15 out of 24 hours of day. Trash product. Feels cheap [especially battery clip at bottom...doesn't feel secure]. Don't buy don't buy. I have $300 internet with Comcast.
