R.I.P. Rick
Yeah. It’s a damn shame they couldn’t get him for that line specifically. It was Nolan North who voiced Soldier in that scene
I always thought that line’s delivery was really funny
@@shadow0fx didn't Nolan also voice engie in some scenes?
@@DissedRedEngie I’m not entirely sure on that. I’d need to rewatch the short
@@DissedRedEngie He's credited as playing a part for Engineer. As far as I understand it, the Engineer's voice actor is harder to reach out to. Grant had two parts he played in at around the time, so I don't know if we've got official confirmation, but I imagine he was on set during the time and couldn't come in for the role. The amount Grant himself was able to contribute to the short only Valve knows most likely, but there's a chance Nolan voiced all Engineer's lines, and they only reused in game sound effects for some small things. Rick was experiencing health problems either due to sickness or something else at the time, which I think was confirmed.

John Lowrie is a string (guitar/banjo) player. What evidence do you have that he plays saxophone?
The intruder alert is always to me:
"The pornography has already breached our defenses"
Heavy, soldier, and scout? Honest reaction:😦
- Faster Than A Speeding Bullet is the theme for the Scout, so the thought that it portrays rushing, going faster and faster, is the exact intention for the character
- Intruder Alert is the theme played at the beginning of the "Meet the Spy" short, mainly the last 30 or so seconds of it. That sting that ends the song off is also the noise used for when a player gets a certain level of killstreak in a server!
- Seduce Me! is used in the Expiration Date cinematic short, during a montage section where Spy is trying to teach Scout how to seduce a lady (Because they think they only have a day left to live)
- Rise of the Living Bread comes from the same Expiration Date cinematic, and is the theme for the big fight scene at the end of the short. Definitely a cartoonish theme due to how goofy the scenario is (Giant, tumor-filled living bread beast in the basement of the secret base), but still a rather intense and "terror-filled" theme due to same goofy scenario
5:25 This was why Tartakovsky's 2003 Clone Wars was one of my favorite animations of all time; I can vividly recall the awesome scores narrating the silent Arc Troopers infiltrating the city, and the brass and percussion effects in place of blaster fire or explosions. Absolutely beautiful stuff, and funny to hear it's called "Mickey Mousing" xD
12:58 It's about living bread. Clearly.
(No actually they bring bread to life. It's very on brand, lmao)
rise of the living bread has no hidden meaning.

you're one of the best reaction channels around right now, adding so much insight, substance and information instead of just sitting there, laughing and nodding.
This isn't the same genre of Reaction content.
It's fine to do reaction of music if you're an expert compared to just watching random videos.
Most music reactors add the same amount of their own content/information.
Just like when LayedBakDFR reacts to rap music, being a rapper himself.
Also, music is not something you only listen once in your life, the reaction video doesn't replace it.
Watching a reaction video of an artist that you didn't know could lead you to listen to that music thousands of times.
And it's even fun for people to watch the video of musics they already know.
"Normal" reaction videos are just robbery though, not only of that specific creator, but of the whole "market" of videos.
TL;DR He isn't a better reactor, the genre of Music Reaction he's doing is better (and completely different) than the Reaction genre that people like xQc, Asmongold or whatever other cock chocker out there does.
You cant even compare a musician reacting to a soundtrack to some pick me girl staring at tiktoks.
I really like the saxophonist insight for "Seduce Me!". The combination of technical knowledge and intuition unintendedly brings insight on the Sniper's character since he's canonically the person playing the saxophone for this piece. Imagining the consummate professional assassin releasing his inner creativity through banger improv is a very fun image!
13:54
the mercs aren't cartoon heroes, they're the main characters and such of course but they're generally all derranged killers in one way or another. Some more than others. 😂
But the insanity, hilarity and uniqueness of each character is why people love them so much.
he said "Like" not "are"
@@self-proclaimedanimator Perhaps but with knowledge of them, it's be better to liken them to a ragtag team of cartoon villains with hilarious likeable personalities despite how horrible they are.
I mean, in terms of vibe they basically are, if it was an adult oriented case.
I think the old Honest Trailer put it pretty well.
“A game that blends Quake’s high speed action, with Pixar’s colourful design. And an animated series that blends Pixar’s colourful design with horrible, horrible violence! *short cut of the more gratuitous scenes* see? This is what Toy Story was missing.”
I love when you play along with parts of the song! it's always my favorite part, it feels like when you're sparring with someone and you're lightly dancing and tapping them while complimenting their style
all of your reactions add so much to the piece your reacting to. Absolutely love the insight you bring to all your reactions, keep it up!
Omg that violin section you played at faster than a speeding bullet was just too good.
You might consider looking into the Subnautica soundtrack. It's a game all about being stranded on an alien ocian planet, with the depths just waiting for you to get lost in. Therefore the music is very ambient and creates an interesting setting for every diverse biome of the ocean and its dangers. I would consider listening to:
-Tropical Eden
-Unknown Flora
-Lost River
-Red Alert
-Abandon Ship (community favourite)
Would be awesome of you to give this game a chance! Anyways, great video as always and keep up the great content! :)
Sun and moon is cool too!
@@user-co5pe7vt2j Yeahh, that as well!
Yes subnautica has amazing soundtrack
Also would recommend Into the Unknown since it's somewhat iconic
TF2 was a big part of my teenage years. Being able to experience it for the first time again through you and hearing you put into words the nuances of why it sounds so good has been an emotional experience for me. Thank you for what you do. It's given me an emotional release that I didn't know I needed. Well done. Today I've binged the rest of your TF2 videos and was delighted to see this appear in my inbox.
Absolutely adore when you play along with the track, it always sounds so good
Thanks for all the TF2 soundtrack reactions. I really feel strongly towards the soundtrack and am of the opinion that it doesnt get the credit it deserves. For a game where the soundtrack plays such a little role, its really really good. I also watch you to kinda confirm my bias lol. But its cool to see someone who knows much more about music than i do praise it. THANKS!
btw, i guess u have covered the large part of the soundtrack now. But my personal favorite is : "It hates me so much".If u wanna listen to it privatly :D
Tf2 is a masterclass in variety with its soundtrack. Absolutely love it.
And hi again lmao
With that Aperture shirt you better react to the Portal 2 soundtrack!
I suggest you start with The Courtesy Call.
Awesome, really love the way you jam into the music. In case you ever find yourself starved for more music videos, I recommend Ave Dominus Nox by Legio Symphonica
This man should have his own class in tf2 called The Band class, referring to Military Bands that would play during war
Seems like those Fifers on Napoleonic Wars things
It's just a silly game, don't go hard with soundtrack
The soundtrack:
🔥🔥🔥
Funnily enough you dont hear the soundtrack in the game, only in the menu, and the RUclips videos
@@MrTarakan I mean there are specific times where it plays for example during mvm, and from what I have heard some soundtracks plays on specific maps during like early spawn or when picking classes, albeit they are mostly snippets, but hey if csgo and even dota2 could have a campaign, perhaps one day when tf2 has its own campaign(very unlikely) they would actually implement it, also I think it has something to do with the maps having soundtracks disabled because when you go on community servers the soundtracks are sometimes enabled and you do hear music, well it's either that or it's modded, nonetheless considering how lazy valve is they would probably steal the mod from the workshop to make it official, valve itself is a funny thing, they have multiple games with infinite potential and they hardly update them or make anything out of them.
DAMN! He didn't hold back with his violin additions, all of those were great!
15:40 yeah. Bread
"Faster than a speeding Bullet" wow he literally just described scout without even knowing who that is
8:11 Splatoon players be like "yo he spittin' facts"
Splatoon if singing.
I've been begging for Intruder Alert the past few tf2 vids, FINALLY! great content as always man 👌👌👌
A hand full of songs from the tf2 soundtrack are from the short film "Experation Date." That will give context as to why there is a song called "Rise of the Living Bread."
Something cool about the songs Faster Than A Speeding Bullet, Drunken Pipe Bomb, Archimedes, and More Gun.
When listening to them, you pick out their key instruments being Bongos, Bagpipes, Accordion, and Bango respectively.
These are the themes for the characters Scout, Demoman, Medic, and Engineer.
Those 4 classes each actually have a taunt where you take out the instrument in question and start playing it.
Pretty cool!
TF2's music has such a distinct style and I absolutely love it.
honestly my favourite music from any game, only found this channel today and the additions you brought were amazing! Awesome video
Literally discovered this series yesterday, loved them so far. Then log on and see a new one?? And it was only posted an hour ago? YES!!
Also, so glad you got to react to Intruder Alert, it's such a great standalone piece. I highly recommend listening to A Little Heart to Heart, as well as Archimedes. Both are explorations of the same melody, but they go in different directions.

i absolutely love your reactions these types of songs and not only that, you add more to the song with your electric guitarolin as i like to call it and i don't think any other musical reaction channel has even done something like that.
Warthunder's Soundtrack REALLY slaps. Also I hope you listen to TF2's "Upgrade Station" soon, it's a true timeless classic.
Intruder alert: starts
My brain for some reason: WE NEED TO PROTECT THE GOON STASH!!!
Absolutely love the “Seduce Me!” Because of that saxophone! You should listen to “Dapper Cadaver” or “It hates me so much”
always loved when people react to tf2, either soundtracks or meet the team videos
"Seduce Me, what?"
The correct reaction
Have you done Red Bread? That is my favorite TF2 song.
Hearing that big, descending brass part near the end of Living Bread instantly makes me see what’s happening in Expiration Date
Lets admit it, the fact that they composed this wonderful music which doesn't appear anywhere ingame is hilarous. I think there should be an option that allows you to listen to the soundtrack while playing. Not only it would be cool, but it would also buff (in a small way) spy
A song plays randomly at the main menu. I think you could search the files for them and use the internal steam music player to listen to it while playing.
Keep up the good work, i like your perspective on things
I absolutely love this video!! You always put a lot of passion when you talk about these songs. Would you ever check out the Paper Mario soundtrack, it has one of the most diverse soundtracks out there, here’s a few that I really like.
Story of stolen spirits.
Main title.
Battle Fan fair.
Koopa bros, keep cool.
shooting star summit.
Gusty Gulch.
King Of The Koopas ( Bowser’s Final ).
There’s over 100 themes, tunes and background music in this game, but those are some of my faves.
Mr. President, they hit the second fortress
I love how many videos you're doing on this absolute classic of a game. I'd also like to see you take a listen to the Hunt For Red October soundtrack. Specifically the main theme hymn to Red October and the end of nuclear scram.
I really don't know if you checked this, but Ace Combat has a lot of good songs you REALLY need to take a look.
"Zero" from Ace Combat Zero is definitely a must. Another tracks from the same franchise but different games are "Archange", "Daredevil" and "Alicorn", all from Ace Combat 7
I absolutely LOVE these tf2 videos, lots of love and id love to see more. Great job❤
"Maggots!" - Soldier
I Love your examinations of what goes on within the soundtracks you hear and listen to. Especially with Team Fortress 2's soundtrack. I feel joyful hearing you teach the audience on what goes on in music, the terms, the techniques, everything. I feel happy.
I had no idea they made electric violins until now
TF2's ost is great, sadly only a few songs are super well known
even a lot of people don't realize that the famous "casual elevator music" are from TF2, to be exact it's the upgrade shop theme
You were cookin with the improv violin today good stuff
BANGER video cuz i play saxophone and play tf2 so this is an amazing video, deserved SUB
it's always nice to see your reaction to the TF2 soundtracks, this made me think that it would be interesting (even if quite out of line with your usual content) to see your reaction to Valve's official "meet the team" and sfm on tf2 , in which these soundtracks are used, I think it would be peculiar to see your reaction not only to the music itself, but also to the context in which it is used; also this would shed some light on some of the particular names given to songs like "rise of the living bread" that you heard in this video.
well... this is an idea I threw here, your content is really enjoyable
i another video he commented that he has watched them already
@@titicaca. Uh, i must have missed It, ok thx
Intruder Alert makes me think of what is like to deal with spies in-game, like: "HE'S RIGHT THERE, GET'EM, GET THE F*CKER"
This really demonstrates the power of music, because yes, faster than a speeding bullet is seen as Scout's theme and plays while he outruns bullets, rockets and a train. Rise of the living bread is indeed a cartoonish final boss theme where the Mercenaries are like the Justice League against a big bread boss. Seduce me has connotations of 70s music and Intruder Alert plays out like an old film where there is not dialogue of any sorts other than Soldier's shouting.
Bro's on point with the 70's comment as the game takes place in the late 60's to early 70's
Actually shows how valve cared when they made the ost
yeah not shit
the 'Seduce Me!' sound track is such a classic, love it.
just realized that there's a conga holding like 8th or 16th notes and the bongos splits with the bongos
I can't wait to reaction on "little heart to heart" track. It have that much of style.
I'd love to see you react to the actual shorts that have these music pieces attached to see how close you were to your analysis.
your violin skills mix with the music from tf2 very nicely. it's like it was supposed to be there. Outstanding video as always.
I recommend giving the Yakuza 0 ost a listen. I believe it's copyrighted so I don't know if making a video on the music is possible. if you can however then I would recommend the fighting style songs (Parry addiction, Force addiction, Crash addiction, One-eyed assassin, One-eyed slugger and One-eyed dancer)
Team fortress 2 characters LITERALLY fight with the giant bread monster
Honestly i'm just speechless at the fact, that the Valve Studio Orchestra has created such masterpieces one after the other, which perfectly suit our favorite game which can't and will not die. TF2!
Bro brought out the fucking electric violin. My jaw DROPPED
If you are going to make another TF2 video I recommend the sounds
''Mercenary Park'' ''red triumphs!'' and ''blu triumphs!''
This sounds is simply incredible...
yes! more TF2! I always love your interpretations of the soundtracks! ;D
Love the aperture labs shirt. Your test is in 2-4 hours.
I'd very likely be moved to tears if I got to listen to some of TF2s OST at a real, live orchestra. Not only is it just unbelievably amazing, but how much each song means to me and the memories they each hold is so incredibly heart warming and nostalgic. - I nearly teared up writing this until he got to "Seduce Me" and was like "what?". I know it's just a silly little game and all of this seems a bit much, but it's been a ridiculously huge part of my life and I love it so very much.
we need more TF2 reactions... I hope more TF2 soundtracks reactions are coming...
Yoooo I saw you at MAGFest but I didn’t get the chance to say hi. Hope you enjoyed the con!
The rise of the living bread has to do with an incident or something like that where the bread was infected and became alive. There is a animation for it called Expiration Date here on youtube.
my guy you need to hear some of the Ace Combat soundtracks when you get the chance
I would recommend 4, 5, 6, 7, and Zero specifically
and check out Project Wingman's soundtrack since it's very similar
It is hilarious that Expiration Date's final conflict is against a giant mutated loaf of bread. Up until that point TF2 may have been silly, but that took it at least 7 levels up.
I was waiting for that
You’re gonna run out of synonyms for surprised at this rate!
something i should mention is if you watch the Meet The series i think context would help that's where parts of these sound tracks are used
okay, you gotta listen to these two:
Upgrade Station, and
Sandwich Maker
excuse me waiter there appears to be a team in my fortress too.
I have just played that man vs machine the hardest one for the first time 2 hours passed and i didn't feel time this game deserves to get more updates
It's funny how he calls all the songs 70's spy themed except the spy theme (right behind you)
I whole heartedly recommend the soundtrack to FTL. It is one of the only games I keep the music on. Each region of the game has two themes that flow into one another when going into out coming out of combat. Hacking Malfunction, Mantis, Lanius, and Final Boss are my personal favorites.
When I saw this I thought that it was one of the old videos but I got so happy when it was new
The instrument addition was straight heat.
Everything is brilliant in this game, even the music.
The rise of the living bread. You explained to us the music itself was terror and was like the final boss, because in the scene where the music was used was the finale battle that the mercs were literally fighting A BIG LIVING BREAD.
Tus videos son increíblemente buenos (a pesar de que mi inglés no es el mejor) me gusta saber que disfrutas muchisimo el escuchar el soundtrack de tf2, aunque las canciones solamente suenen en el menu xd
