Honestly it’s impressive that you manage to maintain the same flow even with the altered lyrics. Especially with the lyrics actually being funny, on point, and relevant unlike some other parodies/covers.
The creator made a FAQ post about this video. The spy colour was something he had tried, but some of the factors that pushed them away from it were that under the blue light, it would look greyish, and he thought of the spy as being a good static element to the video with everything happening around him. His FAQ post itself is super cool. loved the extra info in it about the creation process.
A lot of parody lyrics just try to match rhyming schemes, but forget to also match the poetic meter of the original words. Which leads to lyrics being sung to the same tune, but lacking the same rhythym as the original, which makes the whole thing feel "wrong".
Unironically super catchy, and thank you for using your nice and natural singing voice instead of any of those crappy AI tools (I thought it would be and was pleasantly surprised when it wasn’t). Very nice :)

this doesnt fit the original song's idea. you see, in the original song, instead of the human singer (Bo Burnham), there is a some kind of an entity that represenets The Internet. in the original song, the entity sings about itself to the viewer and then at the bridge sings about the viewer, in this part entity first introduces the false idea that it was always doing everything to please the viewer and put the world in the viewer's hand, but at the end of the bridge the entity starts maniacally laughing to then reveal that it never cared about the viewer and makes it clear that it was the one in control the whole time, shaping the viewer's insatiable dependancy on The Internet, winning its current position a long time ago before the viewer was even born. The Entity, or The Internet, was never by your side, and it already owned you before you could do anything about it. the lyrics you suggested just make it seem like the one singing is a TF2 fan telling TF2's story with bitterness, instead of an Entity, which removes the original song's idea entirely.

The expression on spy's face during all the video. This is truly mastermind work, I really hope the devs finally wake up cause' the Team Fortress famdon desserves better.
This animation is filled with little details, like the random mercs running around, proyectiles and that one hat flying out of nowhere. But what i love the most are the expresions of the spy, dude its dying inside and its doing everything in his power to contain the frustration, just so he can express it in a cool way Also you already heard this but good singing dude
This is great! I’m quite new to TF2 (installed around dec 2022) but I already love it, and I’m so happy that even if this game is 17 years old (older than me, yikes) there are still people so creative and dedicated that still make videos about it. I like this cover, it’s a good cover and it includes some of the highest highs I have had while playing (I got a triple kill with a random crit while soldier bombing just yesterday lol), but also the greatest issues (voice chat is not enabled on this account). There's a handful of TF2 videos that do a great job of encapsulating how playing TF2 used to feel back in 2011. This is the first one I've seen that does such a good job of capturing the 2024 experience. Very well done
I see a lot of people praising a specific lyric or the FOV thing,but I just want to highlight how amazing the entire sequence from 1:14 to 1:40 is. The visuals,music and the gags in the lyrics come together with amazing and rapid pacing that in my opinion makes the best part of this song come together. The creator made a FAQ post about this video. The spy colour was something he had tried, but some of the factors that pushed them away from it were that under the blue light, it would look greyish, and he thought of the spy as being a good static element to the video with everything happening around him.
His FAQ post itself is super cool. loved the extra info in it about the creation process.

This is so clean, the changing of the lyrics doesn't make the actual song any worse!
A lot of parody lyrics just try to match rhyming schemes, but forget to also match the poetic meter of the original words. Which leads to lyrics being sung to the same tune, but lacking the same rhythym as the original, which makes the whole thing feel "wrong".
Unironically super catchy, and thank you for using your nice and natural singing voice instead of any of those crappy AI tools (I thought it would be and was pleasantly surprised when it wasn’t). Very nice :)

this doesnt fit the original song's idea. you see, in the original song, instead of the human singer (Bo Burnham), there is a some kind of an entity that represenets The Internet. in the original song, the entity sings about itself to the viewer and then at the bridge sings about the viewer, in this part entity first introduces the false idea that it was always doing everything to please the viewer and put the world in the viewer's hand, but at the end of the bridge the entity starts maniacally laughing to then reveal that it never cared about the viewer and makes it clear that it was the one in control the whole time, shaping the viewer's insatiable dependancy on The Internet, winning its current position a long time ago before the viewer was even born. The Entity, or The Internet, was never by your side, and it already owned you before you could do anything about it.
the lyrics you suggested just make it seem like the one singing is a TF2 fan telling TF2's story with bitterness, instead of an Entity, which removes the original song's idea entirely.

I’m quite new to TF2 (installed around dec 2022) but I already love it, and I’m so happy that even if this game is 17 years old (older than me, yikes) there are still people so creative and dedicated that still make videos about it.
I like this cover, it’s a good cover and it includes some of the highest highs I have had while playing (I got a triple kill with a random crit while soldier bombing just yesterday lol), but also the greatest issues (voice chat is not enabled on this account).
