an instrumental version of the super earth anthem plays while you raise its flag for one of the missions, the sheer amount of democracy you feel while being swarmed by bugs, protecting the flag with the anthem in the background is overwhelming
Yeah, same. I do enjoy the songs when deployed, but they're starting sound like a slog after hearing them at least a thousand times now. Unfortunately, the game doesn't let me play my Spotify at the same time.

For me it was the first time I fought the Automatons on extreme difficulty. Lasers flying everywhere, tanks, huge robots, airships, turrets and so on all deployed against FOUR men with balls of titanium. The atmosphere was unlike anything I've ever played and I've loved the game ever since
My favorite memory of HD2 was when I and my squad finally made it to extraction on a Super Helldive bug mission. We called in the shuttle, and I look over the ridge, and… I now know why they call them ‘waves’ of enemies. It was a sea of bugs, all crawling along the hillside towards us. It was so epic.
The soundtrack is so fucking good. Dropping on a planet *NEVER* gets old. And the Extraction Theme always does its job. The "Last Stand" feeling is exactly how it feels in game, you must hold litteral swarms of ennemies waiting for the dropship to pick you up at the extraction point. It's just so on point.

I’m sitting at work, and I did the “pew pew pew pew” right on cue. I can’t hear this song and not either say the “Prove to yourself that you have the strength and the courage to be free. Join the Helldivers.” Or the pods launching, and then the sound of them screaming to the atmosphere to deposit freedom all over the enemy’s troops. This game NEVER fails to get me hype. This past weekend was also incredible!
My favourite memory in game is me and two teammates standing at the flag listening to the anthem while our 4th teammate fought for his life on a hill about 200 metres away lol
Yes! The extraction music is epic, tense and thrilling as all hell! You got it exactly right, it is a sort of a last stand music, because this track plays at the very end of your mission, where you need to get to an extraction point and there you call in a pilot to come for you. This starts a timer for his arrival and during this time you must defend yourself as a team from endless hordes of giant bugs or armies of heavily armored and even more heavily armed automaton robots!
@@YooKkang If you think about it, we are in control of many, many planets. Every planet has people living there, so we have many, many helldivers. Sadly, that also means every planet we lose, many, many people die.

The beacon also brings on an onslaught of enemies and your team fights for their lives until the dropship arrives. If any of you make it, that triumphant reprise of the main theme swells as the ship whisks you back to orbit-and out of the combat zone below as it's overrun with enemies. Epic every time!

Every game is like this epic tense cinematic humorous masterpiece of chaos, their passion for the game shows even if it caused them to friendly fire themselves for a while there, but they're bringing the game back to its golden age, we are so back
The main theme def has this initial hype (this is the music that plays at the start of a mission while you are flying down from orbit in your drop pods after all), and then it goes quiet and kind of mournful, like you've suffered losses and are pushing through. Then at the end it picks up again as if celebrating a victory while acknowledging the lives lost. It takes you on a journey.
Cup of Liber-tea starts off like a march or call to war, then comes the realization of war, of loss, of sacrifice, and then it moves to the resolve and commitment to see this all through so the sacrifices were not in vain. They did a phenomenal job with that score, really world class.
I love how in the extraction theme, the moments deeper into the music signifies how bad things are going with. The strings alone add to the tension and you know If you hear those it means extraction went terribly wrong. The price of perfection is infinite, yet the sound team at Arrowhead somehow did it.
You nailed the Extraction perfectly during gameplay it’s technically 3 parts, Let me paint a picture for those of you that might not know, you are a team of 4, you run up to the beacon, input the code and you now have 2 mins of chaos as the game throws wave after wave of Giant bugs or murderous terminator style robots at you. Massive explosions and gunfire in every direction all the while you hear in your coms the pilot counting down until the ship arrives, at 15:48 when you say key change is part 2 that is where you have made it onto the ship and it’s leaving the planet, and you see your scores for that mission. And the final part 17:08 is when you see your team on the lift and see the team does a victory pose.
What I find remarkable, is the fact that he identified the exact moment when the scores are displayed, only through listening to the music. It's that good!
this is the first time ive seen your video. beautifully and elequently discribed from just hearing the music from helldivers 2. this brought me joy to watch
I started listening to some tracks of it recently and now became in awe of the whole score and I can't stop listening to it wherever I go. Just the variety and energy it brings from it's main leitmotif in Cup of Liber-Tea, Hellpods Primed, Welcome to the Fight and Mission Review is so grand and energetic and the Extraction track excites me up fr. I don't have the game yet, but I'll can't wait to experience the gameplay on top of an already exhilarating and amazing soundtrack by Wilbert.
This is my first time at your channel but I am very impressed by how well you sized up the events of the game by its music. Will definitely be coming back for more of your take on sound tracks. Top notch!
I just love when score in games ties so well with gameplay and creates memorable moments. When great music works in tandem with the game it's an amazing feeling. And you can hear gameplay sound effects "missing" during key parts from your personal memorable moments.
I'm a ver active helldiver. I loved these songs way too much, however! Listening to that extract song while driving. Filled me with so much.. Energy. That little crescendo with the violin getting high pitched made me just want to speed up. I can hear it allot better now that I want focusing on staying alone in those last moments, funny enough. I could hear the pelican coming in for a landing even though it's not there... Just in my head hah. Loved your reactions, (first time seeing your video)
Having spent many years of my life playing trombone, that build up and the apogee in A Cup of Liber-tea gives me goosebumps every time when the horns "lead the charge" as one of my band directors would have described, into the main section. Always puts a smile on my face.
You probably already know this but a lot of the music inspiration came from the Basil Poledouris’ “Klendathu Drop” from the film StarShip Troopers with a more up beat melody.
The Extraction theme is my favorite purely for the drums it sounds so awesome when you're fighting for you're life trying to extract especially with all the stratagems blowing up
One of the main reasons I play this game besides the excellent combat simulation overall is the music. Dropping from space with this music is something great. It is also great bg music for working, giving you the boost and relaxing you at the same time.
The exctraction theme hits all the right buttons. When you're sieged at the extraction point and you need to keep the team together to survive until the arrival of Pelican1, that music gives you such goosebumps you can grate cheese on 'em.
By far the best music review channel. No excessive talking, speaks facts about the music and what each part makes the listener feel and what each instrument represents, respectfully criticizes the music, and no over the top facial expressions that some people find cringe. Like and sub earned!
First video ever seen from him, absolutely loved his takes and descriptions on this music and yea, wow, when you sit down and listen, some really awesome music in Helldivers!
Bro…you were so on point on everything. If you ever play the game, you will see that it fits every scenario especially that “last stand” whether you “make it or break it”. Love this video!
4:50 EVERY Helldiver is proud to fight for Freedom and (Managed) Democracy. It's in the contra- I mean the very *genome* of SuperEarth's citizens! I have a recommendation for another Helldivers piece. Theres an unreleased boss theme for the Automaton robots and my god its terrifying. Very operatic and cool, but terrifying.
my favorite part of the extraction theme is its dynamic, there are different iterations of each part and change depending on enemy count and living players
Hey, just so you know Chris christodoulou made more music for the new dlc for Risk of Rain 2 and it is just as good as the previous music. I recommend checking it out if you haven’t already.
Hearing cup of liber-tea while seeing the planet behind the hellpods was breathtaking the first time I seen it. It never gets old to me. Why can’t all loading screens look this beautiful.
As someone with 400 hours in the game (as a musician) the first thing I noticed even just in the trailer back in December of last year when they teased the games release, I noticed the music, and was fascinated, it reminded me of games from the early 2000s that I grew up with that had so much passion… it’s awesome

Every game is like this epic tense cinematic humorous masterpiece of chaos, their passion for the game shows even if it caused them to friendly fire themselves for a while there, but they're bringing the game back to its golden age, we are so back
I think we've all fallen victim to friendly fire... why not the devil XD
My life for Super Earth
The main theme def has this initial hype (this is the music that plays at the start of a mission while you are flying down from orbit in your drop pods after all), and then it goes quiet and kind of mournful, like you've suffered losses and are pushing through. Then at the end it picks up again as if celebrating a victory while acknowledging the lives lost. It takes you on a journey.
22:09 All raise now for the Anthem of Super Earth
I cannot help but hum the core melody to this game all the time. But, no time better than when you're dropping in.
It's that good!
your addition to "cup of liber-tea" was pretty cool
4:52 IM DOING MY PART FIGHTING FOR MANAGED DEMOCRACY... what that is im not sure... BUT IM FIGTHING FOR IT!!!!
I don't know who they got to do the music for this game, but they freaking NAILED it.
this is the first time ive seen your video. beautifully and elequently discribed from just hearing the music from helldivers 2. this brought me joy to watch
Top notch!
I legit didn't think an anthem from a game will hit home so much with me.
I’ve played a ton of helldivers 2 and never heard the Super Earth Anthem before. I’m level 59. I’m surprised
@@Wet_Deer it plays during the flag raising on the raise flag missions
Yo we have very similar names lol
@@alexanderschweinehunde167the flag is only the instrumental version. This version is only in the files like the illuminate music and automaton choir
Every now and then it will play while on your ship as well

I just love when score in games ties so well with gameplay and creates memorable moments.
When great music works in tandem with the game it's an amazing feeling.
And you can hear gameplay sound effects "missing" during key parts from your personal memorable moments.
You know you've had the hd2 music off for a long time when you start tearing up when you hear it again.
Love how he can tell what is happening in the game while listening to the soundtrack, amazing storytelling through music!
This track will never cease to get me hyped for the drop into a planet. Doesn't matter the enemy or the objective type.
It’s a shame that the second half of the theme sounds so incredible and you never hear it in game.
Having spent many years of my life playing trombone, that build up and the apogee in A Cup of Liber-tea gives me goosebumps every time when the horns "lead the charge" as one of my band directors would have described, into the main section. Always puts a smile on my face.
He really was feeling the democracy coursing through his veins with his reaction to Liber-tea
13:45 is that moment every helldiver feels the urge to fight harder, your chariot is nearly here to take you back to your ship. Just. Survive.
You probably already know this but a lot of the music inspiration came from the Basil Poledouris’ “Klendathu Drop” from the film StarShip Troopers with a more up beat melody.
Isnt there a Klendathu Planet in HD2?
@@Spikebhaal Klen Dath II
@@Doomguy_74 Yeah that one! Couldn't remember the name.
The Extraction theme is my favorite purely for the drums it sounds so awesome when you're fighting for you're life trying to extract especially with all the stratagems blowing up
everytime I hear that music when you start the missions I get goosebumps
You need to look up the automaton battle music with choir. I do not want to see what that accompanies. Not currently in the game.
One of the main reasons I play this game besides the excellent combat simulation overall is the music. Dropping from space with this music is something great. It is also great bg music for working, giving you the boost and relaxing you at the same time.

「民主主義担当官: 正義は勝つ これが歴史の必然だ」
The exctraction theme hits all the right buttons. When you're sieged at the extraction point and you need to keep the team together to survive until the arrival of Pelican1, that music gives you such goosebumps you can grate cheese on 'em.
I can hear the Hellpods dropping and screaming through the atmosphere
By far the best music review channel. No excessive talking, speaks facts about the music and what each part makes the listener feel and what each instrument represents, respectfully criticizes the music, and no over the top facial expressions that some people find cringe. Like and sub earned!
I jog with the HD2 OST now. It hits different.
First video ever seen from him, absolutely loved his takes and descriptions on this music and yea, wow, when you sit down and listen, some really awesome music in Helldivers!
You should listen to the themes of both the terminids and automatons from Helldivers 2, they slap tbh.
Hell, do one for the Illuminate one, someone leaked it and posted it on RUclips.
@@Kentro-p8y especially the unused boss music for the bots
Bro…you were so on point on everything. If you ever play the game, you will see that it fits every scenario especially that “last stand” whether you “make it or break it”. Love this video!
whoa, 6 mins early, excited to listen. HD2 and Space Marine 2 have some of the best soundtracks this year.
SM2 has a banger soundtrack?
I gotta buy that game soon.
HOW ARE YOU UNDER A MILLION SUBS? Been seeing you for like five years now, can we please give this man what he is owed?
after you were saved from naovice (factorio) super hearth was made and now we have helldivers 2
Definitely a soundtrack highlight of the last few years, it sits among Dune and Alan Wake 2 for me.
I don’t know if anyone’s said anything about it but in the extraction theme the trumpets and brass instruments feel like exchanging gunfire
my favorite part of the extraction theme is its dynamic, there are different iterations of each part and change depending on enemy count and living players
With the new Release of Frostpunk 2. Would be amazing to see You react to the Frostpunk soundtrack. Especially "The City Must Survive".
As someone with 400 hours in the game (as a musician) the first thing I noticed even just in the trailer back in December of last year when they teased the games release, I noticed the music, and was fascinated, it reminded me of games from the early 2000s that I grew up with that had so much passion… it’s awesome
