I get where you're coming from but for most players, the usual 4 crutch perks are needed in many serious runs of zombies. Similar to what you said in your closing statement that not picking up the crutch perks made you play in new ways you never played, it's exactly like the way I play BO4 and why I enjoy that perk system so much because when integrating the perks into the gameplay it allowed me to play in ways I never would have. The systems that substituted the crutch perks were not perfect but the variety felt in the different playstyles was really enjoyable for me. I respect your opinion though, thank you for the video and have a nice day.
Yeah for sure. BO4's perk system is amazing, I love that you can choose whichever ones you want in your loadout, it really does spice up the games a lot
That’s true. I hope this didn’t come off as too critical of any game or play style, I mostly wanted to show that the perk variety they wanted in BO4 was always an option
Do we define crutch as "Gives you an advantage over the zombies" or "Cuts out the annoying parts of the game". Staminup falls into the latter for me, it can help with out-running the zombies but its core use is just getting around the map. Same deal for Tranzit.
I actually did this in black ops 3! I got to round 30 on the giant and just quit simply because I was bored. The only perk I got was the hidden staminup, because I don’t like having a 3-gun carousel in case I needed to swap to an emergency weapon. I think they didn’t really eliminate the crutch perks for high rounds, though. Everyone in black ops 4 still seemed to take dying wish and victorious tortoise like every game, and I know that I used staminup every game as well, only ever switching up my fourth slot. And that fourth slot always seemed like it was an inconsequential decision, because all of the other perks just seemed to have so little impact in comparison. I just settled on quick revive most of the time because faster health regen sounded better than faster elixir cooldown, or an armor zone, or a stronger melee
For me I think Black Ops 3 Zombies had a good system for justifying different perk choices due to the changes to the core gameplay mechanics and systems. - With the introduction of weapon kits, you could ditch Speed Cola by adding Fast Mags to your preferred weapons. - With the new AATs, you could (arguably) ditch Double Tap 2.0 by using Dead Wire and Turned and so on. - Due to the three-hit down system, you could even take a risk by ditching Juggernog and relying on your own movement abilities. - With GobbleGums like In Plain Sight available as core choices, you could take a further risk by ditching Quick Revive and relying on that Gum's limited usage if you hit a tight spot. Those are just my thoughts anyway.
Double tap actually buffs aats by reducing the shots required for them to activate so it’s still very worth to have double tap when doing a high round strat with aats
I feel like you begin to learn that you don't need the original four when you play maps with perks that have overall greater benefits than just reloading faster or doubling your fire rate. PHD and Stamin-Up come to mind.
IMO jug is the main issue 2 hit down is simply brutal and i feel strong armed into buying it every single game. I wouldn't mind having the choice to replace jug with PHDflopper on every map.
Personally I feel that crutch perks are more defined on a game by game so here's what I would say are the crutch perk sets of each game: WaW Jugggernog & Speed Cola (The other 2 aren't really crutches in Solo) BO1 Solo Kino Der Toten-Five Juggernog, Revive and Speed Cola Ascension-Moon Stamin-Up, Juggernog, Revive and Speed Cola Co-op Kino Der Toten-Five Juggernog & Speed Cola Ascension-Moon Stamin-Up, Juggernog and Speed Cola BO2 Tranzit Solo Revive, Juggernog, Stamin-Up, Double Tap 2.0 and Speed Cola Nuketown Revive, Juggernog, Speed Cola and Double Tap 2.0 Die Rise Revive, Juggernog, Speed Cola, Double Tap 2.0 Mob of the Dead Juggernog, Speed Cola and Double Tap 2.0 Buried Revive, Juggernog, Double Tap 2.0 and Speed Cola Origins Stamin-Up, Revive, Juggernog, Double Tap 2.0 and Speed Cola Co-op Tranzit Stamin-Up, Juggernog, Double Tap 2.0 and Speed Cola Nuketown Juggernog, Speed Cola and Double Tap 2.0 Die Rise Juggernog, Speed Cola and Double Tap 2.0 Mob of the Dead Juggernog, Speed Cola and Double Tap 2.0 Buried Juggernog, Speed Cola and Double Tap 2.0 (Stamin-Up is less useful on high round strats because Buried is campy) Origins Stamin-Up, Juggernog, Speed Cola and Double Tap 2.0 BO3 Solo Revive, Juggernog, Double Tap 2.0, Stamin-Up and Window's Wine Co-op Juggernog, Double Tap 2.0, Stamin-Up and Window's Wine (Speed Cola in BO3 is made less useful due to Fast Mags and often times Extended Mags) Now here's why each perk is a crutch Jug: Increased health leading to less downs making the game significantly easier Speed Cola WaW-BO2 The increased reload speed makes or breaks some situations, but once Fast Mags were given to all important weapons it became a lot less useful Revive It gives you an extra chance enough said Stamin-Up Increased base & sprint speed leads to you getting trapped much less and training becomes much safer as a result In Origins it also makes getting through the mud much easier In Co-op it can lead to much easier revives due to the increased movement and sprint duration Double Tap 2.0 The increased damage makes many guns kill for many more rounds Widow's Wine Widow's Grenades make many situations where you would have downed not be bad Getting trapped is only a death sentence once you are out of grenades When you do get hit all zombies start taking damage and giving you points and will lead to quicker kills
Interesting you didn't do IW/WWII. Similarly to Exo Zombies they don't have the traditional perks but they still have equivalents like the armor in WWII. I just feel like if Exo Zombies was "close enough" they would've been too.
I’ve gotten a few comments about those games, so maybe I should have. I only went up to BO3 because the crutch perks are more of a Treyarch thing, and AW was included as a joke
if they were put into the game for A reason then players are gonna use it its not really A crutch what I really think is A crutch are those dumbass gobble gums there is a gum that is so crutch and it lets you buy any buyables for free now that's A crutch perk if anything perkaholic is a crutch gobble gum any gobble gum is considered A crutch but then again there are some pretty useless gobble gums just can't remember some of them and imma be real with you phd flopper is more of A crutch
One time I was bored and did the "Aussie Challenge", as I called it. Only green and gold perks (Yes, our flag is not green and gold, but for some reason those are our colours when we play sport and stuff). I was playing The Giant and had Double Tap, Speed Cola, Mule Kick and Stamin-up. Yeah its 2 crutch perks, but this has pretty much been the only time I didn't get Jug or get Quick Revive in solo.
you’re playing zombies wrong if you don’t risk your life for every carpenter you see
Absolute truth.
Quick Revive on solo WaW is the only crutch perk needed in this video
That was a pretty good story telling video, enjoyed my whole time, and nice plot twist with the AW part!

Keep posting videos cant stop watching
All they had to do was let us buy more than 4 perks
Those past years I re-enjoyed the BO1 maps by attempting no-perks challenges and first rooms.
mf said "no crutch perks" and proceeded to buy Stamin-up on Origins LMAOOOOO.
It's literally the most important perk to buy in that map.
Do we define crutch as "Gives you an advantage over the zombies" or "Cuts out the annoying parts of the game". Staminup falls into the latter for me, it can help with out-running the zombies but its core use is just getting around the map.

I think he means "Crutch perks" as defined by Blundell's infamous poll
I actually did this in black ops 3! I got to round 30 on the giant and just quit simply because I was bored. The only perk I got was the hidden staminup, because I don’t like having a 3-gun carousel in case I needed to swap to an emergency weapon.

The tradeoff with the three-hit down system, is that the zombies swing hella fast. I swear, not having Jugg was way harder in BO3 than previous games

That black ops 2 origins edit caught me so off guard with the nice calm voice into 1 second of avenged sevenfold
What are you talking about bro?
@Milky-Milky at 2:31 the origins cutscene plays suddenly, and the song playing is Shepherd Of Fire by Avenged Sevenfold.
Only crutch Perks? No thanks.
Every single Perk? Hell yeah!
IMO jug is the main issue
2 hit down is simply brutal and i feel strong armed into buying it every single game.

Personally I feel that crutch perks are more defined on a game by game so here's what I would say are the crutch perk sets of each game:
WaW
Jugggernog & Speed Cola (The other 2 aren't really crutches in Solo)
BO1
Solo
Kino Der Toten-Five
Juggernog, Revive and Speed Cola
Ascension-Moon
Stamin-Up, Juggernog, Revive and Speed Cola
Co-op
Kino Der Toten-Five
Juggernog & Speed Cola
Ascension-Moon
Stamin-Up, Juggernog and Speed Cola
BO2
Tranzit
Solo
Revive, Juggernog, Stamin-Up, Double Tap 2.0 and Speed Cola
Nuketown
Revive, Juggernog, Speed Cola and Double Tap 2.0
Die Rise
Revive, Juggernog, Speed Cola, Double Tap 2.0
Mob of the Dead
Juggernog, Speed Cola and Double Tap 2.0
Buried
Revive, Juggernog, Double Tap 2.0 and Speed Cola
Origins
Stamin-Up, Revive, Juggernog, Double Tap 2.0 and Speed Cola
Co-op
Tranzit
Stamin-Up, Juggernog, Double Tap 2.0 and Speed Cola
Nuketown
Juggernog, Speed Cola and Double Tap 2.0
Die Rise
Juggernog, Speed Cola and Double Tap 2.0
Mob of the Dead
Juggernog, Speed Cola and Double Tap 2.0
Buried
Juggernog, Speed Cola and Double Tap 2.0 (Stamin-Up is less useful on high round strats because Buried is campy)
Origins
Stamin-Up, Juggernog, Speed Cola and Double Tap 2.0
BO3
Solo
Revive, Juggernog, Double Tap 2.0, Stamin-Up and Window's Wine
Co-op
Juggernog, Double Tap 2.0, Stamin-Up and Window's Wine (Speed Cola in BO3 is made less useful due to Fast Mags and often times Extended Mags)
Now here's why each perk is a crutch
Jug:
Increased health leading to less downs making the game significantly easier
Speed Cola WaW-BO2
The increased reload speed makes or breaks some situations, but once Fast Mags were given to all important weapons it became a lot less useful
Revive
It gives you an extra chance enough said
Stamin-Up
Increased base & sprint speed leads to you getting trapped much less and training becomes much safer as a result
In Origins it also makes getting through the mud much easier
In Co-op it can lead to much easier revives due to the increased movement and sprint duration
Double Tap 2.0
The increased damage makes many guns kill for many more rounds
Widow's Wine
Widow's Grenades make many situations where you would have downed not be bad
Getting trapped is only a death sentence once you are out of grenades
When you do get hit all zombies start taking damage and giving you points and will lead to quicker kills

i agree i do use them but i been playing bo4
What about infinite and ww2 zombies?
3:22 You know the part you were missing, the head, only spawns in the trenches (Gens 1, 2, 3), right?
3:55 silly little game haha
No Infinite Warfare?
