    I dont even care if Double Tap doesnt increase weapon damage if that means seeing it again. I cant even begin to explain how helpful an increased fire rate would be in Cold War

      The sad thing is that in Cold War data miners found it as a perk, but tryarch is like nah we don’t need it even thou a lot of Cold War weapons shoot so fucking slow!

    2:00 Actually the main reason double tap got the axe in ascension is because an entire section of the map got cut from development. There was supposed to be an entire extra section of the map and I believe a 4th lander too in the area where double tap was supposed to appear

    In Cold War,Deadshot Daquiri is pretty much the replacement for Double Tap.Sure,it only increases the damage you inflict through headshots but considering you cannot build points in CW players are going to prioritize headshots anyway.

      You don't really wanna build points in lower rounds with double tap 2 though. In higher rounds you'd get more money for going for kills, unless you're in really high rounds.
      *Since after round 100 you'll probably only use wonder weapons and would need points for the box when you can't get max ammos.

    I can count on two hands the amount of times I got cornered, but got bailed out thanks to spewing bullets 30% faster than normal. Remain trigger disciplined when not cornered, but when things get hairy, spray and pray. DT is one of the four perks I get on CoTD because it kills George faster. Whenever I have an abundant amount of points, and weapons I don’t like, whatever left over ammo I have I use that against George; it speeds the game up imo

    Honestly my biggest problem in current cod zombies is the fire rate on some of those guns especially snipers … its bad without Doubletap :/

      ⁠@@Billium4635faster fire rate = more recoil + faster TTK.
      This means you are more likely to miss shots from either recoil, or shooting zombies after they have died.
      DT1 wastes ammo (marginally) but saves time

    Double Tap is my favorite perk of all time. I was shocked to not see it in BOCW and BO4. For me it's a necessity to have it and it's more fun with it.
    Also the double tap jingle is one of the best in my opinion it's really a legendary perk.

    Small nitpick/correction: there technically wasn’t a 4 perk limit UNTIL ascension because there was only ever 4 perks up to that point. Which really just rubs the salt in the wound even harder that consciously made a 4 perk limit AND decided to make it you so can’t buy double tap anyways.
    But yeah I really miss the fire rate increase ability when I play BO4 or Cold War. Especially on the ray guns. They so easily could’ve implemented a small fire rate increase to every pack a punch stage in BO4 that maxes out at 30 alongside damage, and added the fire rate boost as an upgrade to deadshot or mule kick in Cold War, but no

      I played BO1 during its prime, and I don't remember there ever being a perk limit until the Mule Kick update that adds Mule Kick to every map

    Thank you!!! I’ve been saying for years that double tap doesn’t need the 2.0 version added to the game! It can simply be just a buff for weapons fire rate and handling. Since Cold War, anytime I wanted to use a shotgun, sniper, or any low fire rate weaponry in zombies, it just felt so bad and slow. If the devs don’t want double tap to be a crutch perk (even though you can have all of them to begin with now) they could just make it the 1.0 version

    A perk that does something to every gun that contaign more than 1 bullet in its magazine. Like the damage tbh I don't really care about it, I just love how fast you shoot with certain guns, going from a fast firing PPSH or Scorpion to an absolute beast of a weapon.
    And I do want to note that MWZ does have "double tap", the ram7 or 9 whenever you pap it you shoot 2 bullets instead of 1, and you don't waste 2 bullets, only 1.

    quick addition for bo3. since you can have AATs on your guns (dead wire, blast furnace etc.) that get triggered by bullets hitting the zombies, double tap increases the chance of an AAT activating when shooting zombies. thats why u see DT in almost every bo3 high round game

    Yo CJ I hope you feel better. I wish Double Tap would return. It would help a little bit with the lost personality of the mode. It does the same thing as pack a punching a bunch of times now but it had a fun song and fit that original zombies feel. Anything is better than the weapon rarity system😭

    IMO they should have just combined Double Tap & Speed Cola into one perk - some kind of energy drink that gives you, say, +30% fire rate and +40% reload speed (numbers up for debate).
    Call it "Brain Fuel" or "Green Bull" or "Zombie Energy" or any other pun/energy drink reference.
    Then the reload speed offsets the extra ammo spent, and you're still doing more damage, just with the drawback of spending your ammo quickly to achieve it. And being more perk slot efficient.
    Rather than Doubletap 2's "u just do more damage so its more ammo efficient" thing which made it a 'no duh this is absurdly OP' thing.
    (They could also have the numbers for firerate/reloadspeed scale differently based on weapon class -- for example, having a semi-auto weapon actually fire two bullets per shot a couple of frames apart, enabling 'aim for the upper chest to have the 2nd bullet hit the head' strats, or alternatively, having Double Tap also add the benefit of semi-auto weapons becoming automatic if you hold the trig down.)
    They could do a lot to make Double Tap more interesting and give it a defined niche where it's useful but not OP.

    I always thought double tap always shot 2 bullets at once on top of the imcreased fire rate, but the 2nd bullet still counts from your ammo/magazine. While 2.0 only made the 2nd bullet free so you fire 20 bullets from a 10 round mag 10 times instead of 1.0 where you fire 10 bullets 5 times

    As a LMG user, double tap and speed cola is essential. Some LMGs shoot extremely slow plus all of them reloaded slowly.

    Double Tap in a vacuum was great in BO3 but if you consider that basically everything kills in a few shots with dead wire or similar double tap was never needed

    I think for ascension they'd think in 4 players game we will buy stamin-up, speed cola, phd and quick revive so everybody cover a perk which are the 4 stations of the map so you need to open them for pack a punch and get jug with the monkey bottle so you can keep the 2 jug's doors closed

    I find it interesting that people are missing double tap now, like you said, I almost always never get double tap. My step up on solo is quick, jug, speed, and stamin. The only time I get double tap is when I’ve lost all my quick revives or when it’s the only option for a fourth. Also I like that it was left out in Cold War, double damage would be completely busted 😂

    Forgot to mention deadshot now increases overall damage now to the head and body bigger multiplier for the head does additional damage to armour and death perception also deals additional armour damage so with the pack a punch and tier system plus attachments don’t really need double tap lol

    the thing with double tap is that everything about it can be put into other features. Like shotguns cocking faster makes more sense with speed cola, and double damage and shooting faster with pap. I really want double tap to come back but theres no real reason for it other than that its iconic.

    I'm certain PAP levels are going to be in Black Ops 6 and there was salvage in the trailer. But considering Vanguard (from what I recall) didn't have rarities like CW as it was just tied to PAP, and MWZ has rarities as loot drops (an objectively worse system than CW) I could assume that salvage would still be used for armor and craftables but there's a chance that rarities could be removed.
    Is it hopium? Absolutely. But I bring it up because if there was a point where double tap would ever come back, I think now would be it. And if the perk system is like CW, I'd argue it'll be a good replacement for rarities. Yes you would still pack your guns to level 3 (or whatever the cap is) while Tier 5 Double Tap could give you the double, or even triple hypothetical, projectiles.
    All speculation and hopium though. I just want a fire rate perk back

    what perks should do imo:
    -double tap: doubles fire rate, makes semiauto weapons fully automatic.
    -deadshot: autoaim to the head (controller)/removes all recoil(pc).
    -tombstone: keeps perks when revived by a teammate, keeps perks and weapons on dead/ on solo keeps perks when revived from quick revive.

    If I remember correctly, double tap in black ops 3, it also increase the chances of firing alternate ammo types, I miss double tap, berm if it’s 1.0 I’d love to see it back in bo6, I think it’s work too cause while there are ways to increase damage, there aren’t any for fire rates and you can buy all the perks, so hierarchy and perk variety is a non issue, plus it’d be hypocritical because deadshot increase damage to the head in coldwar so why not fire rate, 2 perks to increase dps?

    It is more worth it from BO2 onwards since WAW and BO1 only makes you waste a lot of ammo and does not really increase the damage.

    DT 2.0 still feels like a perk you wouldn't want to run especially for high round because the double damage input won't matter if you're relying on a wonder weapon and AATs.

    I believe it is a misconception that the damage boost in bo4 was meant to replace double tap. My theory is that it was meant to replace double pap. Alternate ammo types received serious nerfs in bo4 and i believe the damage boost was intended to compensate for that.

    Double Tap is always my first purchase in any game. I have been trying to skip jug and quick revive and relying on my movement to survive, I'm rewarded with 1500? points (maybe 2000 I forgot) carrying me for for so many rounds without needing to pap.

    Ideal perk loadout is double tap stam up jug and speed cola or whatever else is available. I think I like to 1 life my zombies runs.

    Personally, I never understood the 4 perk limit. I've had every perk a million times, and it's awesome, but I've never felt invincible or anything. Just kinda a pain in the ass to get more than 4 on most maps, and it never really "balenced" anything. It just made some perks an afterthought because others were way more important. In Black ops 1, it cost 17,500 points in solo, 18,500 in co op to buy all 8 perks, plus doors, plus guns as the game goes on. It's a whole process. Just remove the limit and let the cost of perks be the prohibitive factor.

      @roshango125ab the problem is what happens when the devs did that idea, cold war.
      Cold war zombies not having a perk limit with the mechanics they made, caused the game to be far too easy and no where near as engaging as classic zombies.

    I only play the og zombies all the way up to infinite. Its a bliss era of zombies, no way they stopped having it in after infinite warfare, that sucks.

    2.0 was cracked. I remember back in bo3 days id often get it before jug because why do you need jug when you have 2 soft pack-a-punched weapons on round 6

    You rather nailed it. Double Tap was never bad, but the faster fire rate was never a big deal it feels like. And then with 2.0, it just turned into another crutch perk by dealing more damage. Adding extra damage in other ways, you no longer need double tap. Like even with fast mags, speed cola still finds a reasonable place usually. Shoot faster is just, meh, alright but unneeded for majority of weapons.

    To me to get people to start using other perks do what iw did and have the perk limit be 5 instead of 4 so people have a bit more flexibility

    If the Cold War pap and rarity systems return in the same way, there's no reason for 2.0 to come back, but 1.0 could come back. If Bo6 has no perk limit (which I hope doesnt happen, instead allow the player to earn perks/get them from gobblegums) they could just add in 1.0 for the faster firerate, making more weapons viable. Tombstone and Mulekick weren't all too useful in Cold War, I only used Mulekick for the ammo drops, but I got them anyway just to have every perk, I could see 1.0 be another perk like that. Not a necessity but nice to have

    an entry like MWIII where perks arent as substantial in terms of abilities (compared to CW) and some weapons feeling like a slog to use would've been perfect for Double Tap 1 to make a return. But they didnt do that, sad.
    Heres hoping for BO6 if theyre doing a similar perk system to MWIII.

    In recent games: it's just simply not needed, the in game mechanics make so that if double tap was in the game, the people complaining that the game is really easy are going to complain more

    Og doubletap also increases your damage by 1/4...and 2.0 gives 50% for bullet if i'm not wrong
    Zombies without doubletap ain't same...
