Hmm, dairy cows require about 200L of water a day! Surely that's not good for the environment, particularly due to our excessive meat and dairy consumption.
The water requirements for almond milk pales in comparison for dairy milk... She says hard on the environment which is bullshit when compared to the damages that dairy milk does... Then goes on and on about chemicals and spray... Cows are also injected with drugs and hormones to combat the infections from being constantly impregnated over and over and over again.
let kill people instead of kill cows. let's eat plants they die but they do not scream

Thank you!! I love Almond milk (I found a brand, unsweetened that tastes wonderful in coffee), but I will give coconut and oats a try after what you said. I am not the most green person, but I should at least try and be ecofriendly.

I drank soy milk when I first started transitioning to a plant-based diet, because it didn't have a very distinct taste (in my opinion). However, lately I've been switching to oat milk and coconut milk more. Tastes great and I'm glad to hear it's not bad for the environment as well as my health. What about the estrogen in cows milk? Organic or not, the cow must be pregnant to provide milk and that is a lot of female hormones. Soy is fine in moderation and the estrogen is not the same as in cows milk.
THIS!!! of all the soy studies she claims to have read she clearly still doesn't understand the distinction between phytoestrogen and estrogen........

@@AM-tw9qq she glossed over a lot of facts. Dairy uses way more milk and is way worse for the environment, organic or not. Plus regular coconut milk has protein. I haven't even gotten half way through and already it's mostly bullshit.
@@audreyhudson9318 You are correct. Non-GMO, organic soy is cancer-preventative for breast cancer. Dairy, however, is a cancer-promoter because of the casein protein in it.

I drink both , i like almond milk with oatmeal or protein-shakes , my oat milk with my lattes . I just stay away from having to much dairy. Plus they have organic almond milk at Costco

Thanks for your great line-up on what to Buy at the store. What about Cashew, Hemp, Flax and now Banana puree milk? Also getting the Cold shelf cartons are better with less Preservatives. The brick size Shelf stable cartons have many more Preservatives & are more processed than the refrigerator shelf cartons. How does Ultra Pastureized affect the Milk nutrition contents?

I like oat too, it just puts me off that most brands add sunflower oil in it and I don t want to be drinking that in my morning smoothie. Switching to coconut milk. Highly educative video, thanks!
Excellent video!!!!! I happen to feel the exact same way as all you said after having done my own research! I quit drinking my lactose free low fat milk- because I couldn't digest the regular milk here in Italy (real milk), but wanted something tasty and low cal for my smoothies and protein milk. I recently tried Oat milk and LOVE it; wonderful in all forms- especially in cappuccinos! Never got what all the fuss was with almond milk- tastes awful and too thin. Recently tried Coconut milk because I came across so many healthy recipes that called for it; got used to it, and do like it a lot (even if I hate coconut!). I try to ALWAYS avoid anything soy, as it is SO BAD FOR WOMEN- especially with a history of breast cancer in their family; I'm always surprised at how many women love drinking soy milk, and have NO IDEA about this fact. Also, way too many products (toothpaste, protein bars, shampoos.....on and on) are loaded with soy fillers!! So, even if I try to avoid eating or drinking the darn crap, I'm sure I am still getting way too much of it! Thanks for the super informative comparison. Loved it!!!

It’s super interesting that you didn’t mention the health and environmental impacts of dairy? Some have suggested this is because you’re focussing on the alternatives only but towards the end you state the choice is between milk or the alternatives. And just a tip, there certainly are organic alternative milk options.

I use unsweetened almond coconut milk blend for my daily protein shake and regular unsweetened almond milk for my cereal.

Thank you for your honesty in assessment.. starting with Diary and referring to it as ‘actual milk’ 👌🏽👍🏽 which it is.. the rest are just adopted tittle they should just call them something else😅
This was a great comparison of non dairy milk options, but I am wondering about organic hemp milk. I often use that in my smoothies, but also buy grass fed organic dairy products. (Side note: A soy-heavy diet in my 20s messed with my hormones SO much!)
