Mid-Sized trucks have never been much better on gas for some odd reason, considering they’re lighter and have smaller displacement engines. I had a 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD Crew Cab with a 6” lift and larger tires, it got roughly 14mpg. A couple years later, I bought a 2017 Toyota Tacoma with a 2” lift to go alongside the Silverado to use when pulling lighter loads - and it only got 16mpg! When comparing a 3/4 ton full-size truck with a 6.0L V8 to a mid-sized truck with a 3.5L V6, it should have done much better than 2mpg extra, at least in my opinion. In todays’ world, I see the prices for these mid-sized pickups with 4-cylinder engines getting the same economy as V6s, on top of that, they cost as much as my fully loaded, full-size, heavy duty truck did back in 2015! It’s absolutely insane - I wouldn’t be surprised if the mid-sized truck market ends up dissolving, it’s almost smarter to just get a larger truck with a larger engine, more interior and bed room, and more capability for a few thousand more! There used to be a clear price difference between the mid-size and full-size pickup class, but now, that margin is getting smaller and smaller.

$60k for a midsized pickup? I’m not paying $60k for a full sized pickup. Regardless of wether they’ve changed the definition, we’ve been in a recession for two years. We’re nearing the point that even those willing to pay ridiculous prices for automobiles just won’t be able to. Automakers, particularly American automakers, need to fail. They’ve earned it.
Little to no room in the back seats on across all mid size pick-ups is probably due by design. They all probably want you to spend more by upgrading to a full size pickup
Getting rid of the diesel was a mistake. The fuel mileage is stupid with that four cylinder. We haver a culture in the USA that diesels are only for towing yet fail to understand the fuel mileage gain in small vehicles. I really wanted one until they dropped that motor. First off they’re depreciating liabilities. The warranty and dependability should increase with the price. The style of the truck is a home run minus a few exceptions. Bring back the manual headlight switch. Get rid of the white in the interior on the AT4X maybe use some carbon fiber. How about a 6 foot bed? 2.7 L turbo has good specs but how about couple options? @@wazgoodjjToyota is complete garbage with drum brakes, terrible gear hunting trans and just for midgets.
I will keep my Ranger. Quicker and 27 miles to the gallon in the highway
I did notice that most trucks now look like the Nissan Frontier.
The Fully Loaded ZR2 is only $52K same truck!
At least your not paying canadian prices for it...Be glad its not 70 for you
Yikes that's a lotta money, yes ridiculous it's the word😮
He gets a robo call during the 0-60 test. 🤣 Would you like to extend your car warranty, Soyfian?
Youd have to be crazy for pay 60k for that. At least new Tacomas interior is good looking
Little to no room in the back seats on across all mid size pick-ups is probably due by design. They all probably want you to spend more by upgrading to a full size pickup
Literally looks like a tundra. Funny how they realize they truly can’t compete with imports besides with brand loyalty
Getting rid of the diesel was a mistake. The fuel mileage is stupid with that four cylinder. We haver a culture in the USA that diesels are only for towing yet fail to understand the fuel mileage gain in small vehicles. I really wanted one until they dropped that motor. A neighbor was getting 30 mpg with his.
I have the diesel. 24 in the city and 37 highway
Y’all better stop getting them vehicles with turbos in them 😂😂folks never learn
Great looking and capable. Deal breakers; white interior trim and there doesn't seem to be a quick way to flash your lights IE at an intersection etc.
Pretty sure the high beams are still on the stalk
if this was there 15k offering that is said to soon on a new model but yes at 15k im ALL in but 50k plus its a pass for me
You have to be doing some serious off reading to go that heavy with the big meaty tires. If you camp alot also. Then this is for you. Not just to ride around, that's to much run to the gas station.
And what’s up with the plastic oil pan? Are you kidding me?
I test drove one last weekend.
Address these concerns, GM and you’ll have a winner guaranteed .
These issues are addressed on the 2025 model this fall I will be buying one
One more thing. A hood rod ? Put some pneumatic cylinders on it.
A light bar in the grill would be cool. Activated but a rocker switch on the dash
It’s 6/16/24
Cool truck. 55-60k is a hard pass.
LOL enjoy this truck before truck prices skyrocket again with the UAW deal
This truck is 60k. GM doesn't give a rip about you bud.
@@MrTobytat2watch it pal
@@gerry9306 ok Mister. GMC would be giving these trucks away if not for those greedy, blue collar workers and their American dreams. All hail Corporations!
For the money you’re spending and being a gmc you can definitely see where they went cheap and cut cost. The AT4 and X should be optioned with those grab handles I simply don’t understand why you don’t even option that so dumb.
Nobody will ever supplant Toyota mainly because of reliability
@@stampimgreat2319the 2.4 turbo has being use since 2015 with the Nx no issues at all so idk whar u talking bout
gm is dying. there at least 3yrs off the grid from other makers an way over priced for the quality you get. Sure they look cool an sound great, but if your Watching your budget. Stir Clear! There are many Better lower priced options an if there not out just Now. Wait a sec
That bed is NOT 6’ 2”. It’s like 5’ 6” or something like that.
Love it until I saw the white accent leather interior. The prices are just ridiculous on trucks especially. Shame on all this price gouging bullsh*t
Looks like the Chevy bison
Same thing
That gas mileage!!!!
Jesus. For a $58k car to not come with full LED taillights is a sin
CANYON VS PILOT
Yikes! 16 MPG - which means that people that drive normal will get 12 MPG! That means Lots of Gas Station stops to fill that small gas tank! WTF are they thinking? They have Hybrid technology to design a powertrain that gets 30 MPG and Still have over 300 HP. So WTF is the deal with this BS, outdated powertrain?
I looked up the gas tank size. 21.4 gallons. 407 mile range. Seems acceptable.
Real world has actually shown 2-3 mpg better than published. Hybrid technology is a crock. Nobody wants to talk about the amount of mining ( by diesel powered equipment) required to obtain the precious metals for the batteries. Not to mention the children that mine the cobalt by hand.
That 2.7 sounds absolutely horrid. It sounds strained in such a heavy truck.
Did he just say 16 MPG 😂 my 2011 for ranger gets better mileage at 1/4 the price. They should of kept that diesel
you said 57k.... lmao. ill just get a WT colorado 4x4 with trailer package. for 37k.
Toyota buyers are kinda brand loyal… right?
$58k?. Lol lol. No longer mid size truck
Right. Pricing is crazy now a days
Full size prices are starting around 60k+ on average, JUST CRAZY
Six feet 2" bed? You better measure again.
"smaller"
