I went to my local GMC dealership last week to test drive a 2024 Canyon Denali,I was told by the sales person none were on the lot,I was able to test drive a Canyon AT4, for a small engine it was very responsive, I didn’t feel any throttle lag, overall I liked the Canyon. I put in an order for the 2024, white Denali Canyon. Was told it might take 2to3 months to get to the dealership, I’m looking forward to it

Great video guys I agree with putting white in the interiors of an off road truck. Also, why is everyone putting a turbo on all the small trucks and most of them took away the long bed option it seems like manufacturers nowadays forget about the real working people to actually use the trucks as they were intended. Nissan is the only one that offers a longer bed and a naturally aspirated engine and have a lower price than all of the rest kudos to them.

I was at the dealer today (closed on Sunday) and found one of these that was unlocked. I'm a big guy like Steven and was very comfortable in it. If they offered then 3.0 Duramax Diesel in the Canyon Denali, they could write one up for me. I was also shocked at the EPA mileage. My full size F-150 with 3.5 EcoBoost gets the same mileage. Nice video guys. Thanks!

Great channel neighbors! I've been watching your series on the X & subbed, your style is so good. I needed a truck for the bed, & like nice stuff, tech. Not a fan of chrome anymore. Saw that X interior (must take red seatbelts for $50) & it was Over. 4k mi now, it's starting to break in, no offroad yet, some dirt roads, but calc'd lifetime is curr 19.8 . Underbody cameras are So nice, instrumentation roll/pitch/altimeter. The motor's way too quiet, but exh is 3 inches downpipe to tailpipe, so I removed resonator & factory muffler & put in a 3" in/out flowmaster 40 & that little motor at low rpm, loaded, ideal. Mrs & I Love this truck, 17s & 33s Ideal in a wheelwell. If the red/blk/white int was in Denali only we'd had to take it, & we are extra-pleased it's instead in the X. Thanks again guys, keep on truckin.

great video (as usual) guys love the channel
I just have to rant about the overall interior space
I'm finding it hard to understand, how is it that the cabin feels so small and cramped especially compared to the previous generation, my uncle has a 2019 Denali Duramax and it feels so much more spacious especially in the back seat and you'd think that with an extra 3" wheelbase and a smaller displacement engine should potentially give more cabin space which is a key ingredient for luxury
It's not a rant against GM, all the makers are doing the same and the gap between the midsize and the full size cabin space is huge
hopefully they'll address this issue or at least give some explanations

I think you make one of the best vehicle reviews out there, your input and reviews are actually well thought out. With no disrespect, it’s a bit hard to watch them sometimes when your pops give his input with going off topic on the original topic, giving his opinions with no main idea or point at the end. You seem well prepared while your pops is coming up with input. Just my opinion.

  • @terryjones8360

I just bought the 2024 Canyon Denali. I had to order it. For the most part I like it. A few things I was disappointed with...
There is no parking assist on the front of the truck, so it's back to hanging a tennis ball from the garage ceiling like we did 20 years ago.
There is no My Home link, so it's back to hanging my garage door opener on the sun visor, again like 20 years ago. Come on GM very cheap to install...
The chrome around the dash reflects the sun into your eyes. Not a huge deal, but it could have been done differently.
I had a problem with the electronics. Some of the apps on the dash would not work. Dealer said they'd need it for a few days. I got on Facebook and was told to unhook the battery, wait five minutes and hook it back up. I did that and everything now works. It seems the dealer could have told me that. I suppose they'd have missed out on the money GM would have paid them to "diagnose" the problem and "fix" it.
The very shiny Bose speaker tag on the dash, reflects off the windshield right into your eyes.
    The engine is very loud.
The shifter is on the wrong side of the console. The passenger does not need the shifter on their side.
The shiny plastic on the console is a dust magnet. By the time I drove it home from the dealer, it was already dusty.
I opted not to get the sun roof, however I'm now hearing that you can't to take it through a car wash unless you have the sun roof. If you do - the roof could dent in. They're saying the dealer has a fix, but only if you bring it in dented.
    Otherwise it's okay...

Great video TK! Keep it coming! I am actually surprised that this truck "only" costs $63kCAN. The price is insane in the real world, but in truck world $63kCAN isnt all that much above the average transaction. A reg cab, 2wd f150 starts at $50k now. The average new car transaction is around $50k now. So the lux version of the Canyon for $63K is still horrendous, but not nearly as despicable as it could be. The real question is what else can you get for that $63k? Is there a better "deal" for the comfort - minded buyer who wants 4x4 and decent towing, but not much space or payload? Is there a midsize suv that fills this niche better? Who are the actual buyers of this truck? S.I.N.Ks? D.I.N.Ks? Yuppies? Boomers? Desperate 40-somethings trying to still look young? Spoiled teenagers? Young families? Empty-nesters? Any ideas?

As a 24yo male who just got married and wants kids, i feel like this truck is definitely for me. I always loved the blocky styling of old trucks, and the luxury im only now starting to want as my pay increases. Plus back trail ability to go where i want. Really tics the boxes for me, i love it. Ill get one 100%, but only after nursing school in 2 years. Which by that time, the kinks should be worked out too. Very happy with GM, even if they do scare me with the V8 lifter issues.

I believe the torque being at higher rpm's is a good thing for everyday driving. If you're in off-road conditions, you can change the "mode" (Baja, Terrain, etc) so that the shift points change and torque range should change accordingly.

I bought a brand new 2023 Canyon Denali on May 30th and got rid of it last month. It was in the shop nearly 4 months for numerous issues. The trailer break system was defective. They didn’t hook up the windshield wiper fluid lines from the factory. Then finally the screens all locked up and the module was on backorder. Also, 15-17mpg no matter what I tried. Worse truck ever. They made me a good offer on a 23 Sierra Denali to make it right and so far it’s been an amazing truck and gets close to 30mpg on the highway thanks to the 3.0 Duramax.

I was surprised with the fuel consumption numbers. My 2022 canyon at4 is at 10L/100km highway driving. I'm really not sure what the advantages of the turbo 4 cylinder is... I love the v6 in my 2022, great torque for hauling a mid-size trailer and for mild off-roading too!

    • @ALMX5DP
      @ALMX5DP 8 месяцев назад

Imagine getting similar mileage while having nearly 50% more torque at a lower rpm.

    • @draecath5953
      @draecath5953 8 месяцев назад +1

The change to turbo 4s isn't for fuel efficiency. In fact the fuel savings are very minimal if any at all because the smaller engine has to work harder. There are several reasons for the shift. Turbos lower emissions and also the way regulations basically force larger vehicles with smaller engines to avoid fines. Basically it all comes down to regulations not improving efficiency or power. The turbo does improve torque though. I definitely prefer a NA 6 or 8 in a truck.

GM is trying to keep the Denali and most upper trim level Canyons as rare as possible to inflate the MSRP. The AT4 series starts at a heartbreaking $45-50K in my state. and I have never seen a '23 Denali, which suggests to me that nobody can afford them along with GM's production cuts to help dealers inflate the MSRP. The only 3 Canyons/Colorados I've seen on the roads ALL year were over 4 years old. I've given up on GM. They will soon start begging for another bailout.

Prices are in on the new Tacoma TRD offroad $40,000 Trail Hunter $55,000 TRD Pro $50,000. GM is screwed. Oh, those numbers are in real dollars, not that Canadian funny money. No way GM isn't going to have to offer big incentives to sell their trucks.

The word “Denail” means nothing when they building those interiors out of milk jug plastics and bubble gum adhesives.

It's not over priced if people purchase them. I'm in business myself, and when I give a quote to somebody for a job and they say, "That's all it is"? When initially I thought it might be a bit high, I scratch my head and think about being more greedy myself.

Danali - ALL about luxury, and they could not even throw in struts to lift and keep the bonnet/hood up!! How pathetic - this is typical GMC - they add a badge for fools to believe THIS is the one to have IF you want to look grand - but the fools forgot to add gas struts for the hood! I owned the previous GMC Canyon, a diesel version - really liked it, but the infotainment system, GPS was the worst I ever come across. A nice looking truck, but just another GMC Ripp-off!

The fuel economy is quite disappointing but Ford proved with their turbo engines that you either get eco or boost, not both.

I own a 23 Canyon AT4.. it’s hands down, the worst vehicle I’ve ever owned. Looks great but is functionally useless. Rides terrible, interior is cramped, tows like crap, MPG is crap, the tech is all screwed up, it decides when/if it’s even going to start, none of the sensors work.. oh and not to mention it’s been sitting in the dealer waiting for parts for over 2 months. And GM doesn’t provide loaner trucks. Last time I was at the dealer they had 3 other Canyon’s in as well all for various electronics issues. Steer clear folks.. I’m getting out of this “truck” the first chance I get. It’s clear GM doesn’t care about these midsize trucks. They build ‘em cheap but charge a lot. Half the models don’t even have basic cruise control…. In 2023

GM should have made them all look a little different..this high and wide treatment on all of them is boring! AT4X looks the same as a Denali.

What! Frontier is the perfect size and function truck! Its just not a American brand name! You insult cheap price stickers! Denali is a true lady truck and i cannot afford it anymore the sublime 👜 purse truck! The denali i want it, but its looking like a work purse
