A recommendation: For those who have valuable information on their non-C drive, unless there is a lot of it, you can transfer these files to another (external) drive. Then you can make use of "Method 1" by deleting the non-C drive, extend the C drive, and then restore the non-C drive back again.

just use disk D to install the game launcher and store stuff like steam and whatnot. you can do this by installing steam but in the installation wizard click browse for where you want to install it and create a new folder in D: which will allow you to download both the launcher and all the games you get on said launcher.
I had many files stored on Disk D, and the disks C and D were not next to each other on Disk Management, therefore I had to go with option 2 but it worked perfectly. Thank you very much!
I confirm it still works as I tried this by today on windows 10 but it is kinda different.. thanks a lot my iphone"s backup failed to load as there was insufficient space on disk C. I can't thank you enough

May I add the fact that I needed to combine the new created thing with the driver, even throw it told me it wasnt safe bcs data loss, it worked like a charm! I got the more needed space! For EVERYONE having the same problem as me and trying 1000x stuff just install THIS Mini tool Partition Wizard !!! Like for real my Button was gray and I couldn't do anything else, tried EaseUs without success. Then Tried this little program... Omg... Just like 5 clicks and that Headache was Finally Gone ! No need to Boot, Restart, Cmd or whatever!!! Like magic. Good Luck
@@tahahasnain7603 You can't shrink, you have to delete the partition, you can extend only if you have 1 partition on the disk, or you can use 3rd party software

In 2023 AOEMI Partition Assistant Demo edition DOES NOT allow you to change disk size in demo version and require to buy full version on "apply changes" step. So this app was Assistant but now it become ASSistant.

I did the delete volume on disk D, but when I right clicked C drive "Extend Volume" was not clickable. Now to fix that mess.

Could have used shrink volume option on drive d. In that way you don't need to remove contents of drive D.

Use minitool partition wizard. I had the same problem and gave up, downloaded it and legit in a few clicks all done.

Make sure that you are a "disk owner"
