- The CHVRCHES stream will start around 9 p.m. on Wednesday, October 3. CHVRCHES electronic indie synth-pop sound helps them stand out from the crowd, which seems to the Glasgow-based band’s goal. Lauren Mayberry’s distinctive vocals trill through lyrics on songs such as “Never Ending Circles”, “Get Out” and, most recently, on their single “Miracles” from their newest album 'Love is Dead.' Mayberry, Martin Doherty and Iain Cook expertly mix synthesizers with instruments like the piano, drums and guitar to make for a dream-like listening experience, with a new sound around every corner. With devoted fans since their founding in 2011, it is no wonder that both of their shows at Palace Theatre (Oct 2 and 3) are both sold out.

She's really grown as a performer and singer. Bravo.
I absolutely love the records (cept the new album's extra poppy song. Forget what its called cause I deleted it from the playslist.) but I think she sounds and moves the same. Which isn't much.
I 've just realised that the more powerful and bright she sings, the more her voice is becoming close to Bjork's one.

@@qzrnuiqntp Bjork has way more power and vocal range. Much more sultry. I love Lauren's voice and she's definitely becoming more comfortable on stage and as the center of attention, but i'm not hearing the bjork comparison at all.
Well, I totally agree with you, but I hear something similar in their vocal color. Perhaps because I mostly hear classical singers, so all light voices singing with a mic with a pop technique have for my ears something similar, even if they are in fact quiet different.
Clearest blue is the best song ever created and they performed it flawlessly!
Never Ending Circles also but too bad they didn't perform it here.

I just listened to this and couldn't agree more, regarding the live version being amazing. It's one of those times I wish bands would re-record some of their older material. When you play songs live year after year, you get little ideas as to how to improve the song without drastically changing it, and this is a great example of that.

I would say the best song is science and visions. The whole concert should be that kind of energy. Totally takes me back to the days of 90’s EBM

I was there the day they filmed this. It was one of the best days of my life. An absolutely amazing concert. Then a woman that I really wanted bypassed me. A few weeks later, I ran into my future wife. A couple months later, the first woman made a move, but it was too late...I was madly in love. Perfect music and romantic love all responsible on October 3rd, 2018. The day my life changed forever.
Just discovered these, they are the nuts, love um.

My gf and I were at the Tuesday show and it was amazing, I just wish they played High enough To Carry On. The next time they come to mn we will definitely see them again!

This must be a straight soundboard, as there's no audience or resonance from the theatre. I left the Palace balcony with a brain splitting headache and a giant grin. 'Such an amazing show, and a great place to attend. I will say the sound is significantly better on the 2nd tier of the floor (saw Lake Street Dive this spring), and was better in the balcony for Trampled By Turtles in May. That being said, Chvrches!

Saw them Tuesday @ the Palace - absolutely thumping!! The audio of this video is pretty good - but if you are thinking of seeing them, just know that they bring it way more than this audio allows. Definitely seeing them the next time they come through - hopefully in a venue as tight as the Palace Theater.
John I was at the show too. I couldn’t even hear her vocals from where we were. The audio was so over driven.
