I regret so much not seeing them live during Double Negative tour just because I thought the ticket was kind of expensive... lesson learned. So glad they captured this show with amazing audio quality. You'll be missed, Mimi.
i was a latecomer to low. started listening because somebody i followed recommended Double Negative, and i loved it. eventually i listened through to Ones and Sixes, and loved that too, and then slowly worked towards more of their back catalogue. was fascinated by how Double Negative (and then HEY WHAT) was so weird in comparison to their older stuff, but you could still clearly find the throughline there. the older material had a similar rawness, even if the instrumentation was wildly different. thought about seeing them live, got closer and closer to seeing a show as more of their material spoke to me more and more- always wondered what they'd play, with such different stuff in their long history, and how it'd come out on a stage. this video reveals the answer is that it'd be fucking revelatory. gone far too soon. love and light.

Ever since Double Negative came out I've been desperate to know how they'd translate such a synth-driven record into the live arena - now I know and it's stunning. Thanks a bunch!
I don't listen to it as often as I do some other albums, because parts of it are sonically challenging, but in terms of quality, emotional depth, creativity, innovation, it is by far the album of the year. It's amazing that an album can be so totally experimental and emotionally compelling at the same time.
I saw this tour last night in Brimingham, England, last night as a newcomer to Low, not really knowing what to expect. I was quite overwhelmed. So much of what I heard, I was unable to identify, so I am grateful to the band and to "The Current" for putting this up. Love to you all. xxA
This rendition of Quorum sums up Low perfectly. The single is an experimental and beautiful piece of music with such vivid textures. And yet the live rendition is a guy with a guitar, a guy with a bass and a drummer. And yet the sound is so vast and spectral. It sounds so beyond anything you could imagine with the three instruments listed. From the first few chords it sets a ground work, and then after a such a subtle octave in notes, it elevates our perception of the song to be such an emotional and ranging piece. It really is incredible, and that's why i've listened to it over 50 times during the past 3 days since i've discovered it.
It's been a while since I've seen Low live. Last time was when they opened up for Slowdive on Slowdive's first reunion tour. I just noticed that Mimi now sits behind the kit. All the times I saw them she would stand. I'm happy for her.
I don't know how, but Low keeps getting better with every album. This show could've been just the performance of Pissing and I would've walked out of the Fitz happy, but then I just kept getting more and more great work by Low.
This concert is just superb. So many highlights. The harmony vocals on Always Up sound like a tour de force. An incredible album that, for me, sums up what 2018 feels like. Such an amazing and consistently wonderful band. ✌🏻
I saw them for the first time recently. I was worried that it was going to be too mellow, even boring sometimes ..... I came out crying. This hasn't happened to me in a very, very long time. It's that good live. The video captures some of the emotions but it's nothing compared to the real thing.
Yes, same for me! I saw them live in Dresden, Germany. They had Daniel Blumberg as support (magnificent artist as well). But their set was outerworldly beautiful! And full of energy which I did'nt expect! Although it was the kind of energy which just lets you stand there in awe and shed a tear or two or many more...
Such amazing music! Clever and tasteful use of guitar effects, just-right percussion, engagingly thumpy bass, and the vocals, OMG, such singing! (Side note: the guitarist must have an amazing collection of stomp boxes!)
I have loved the band since I by pure coincident heard their first album back in 1995 (yeah it was released in 94, I know). So many great concerts, but the one in Oslo on the 10th of august 2011 I will never forget. A city still shocked by the terror hitting us in July and Low just related to it so well. The concert was just fantastic. And at the end Alan was telling youngsters coming in from the ongoing Øya festival to shut up before the last song, because they had a message they wanted to pass on; And then, when the first chords of Murderer filled the concert hall, there was a lot of us that burst into tears. It was lovely, soothing and a lot of sadness.
I was curious as to how this new album will translate live. No worries there, Low have the aesthetics to do just about everything in the right way. A great use of experimental fx pedals creates all these extra weird sounds that these songs need to breath new life into this amazing career of Low.
Perfect background music for my after dinner conversation... I can not think of Duluth bands this time of year without harkening back to the Edmond Fitzgerald, esp. given the somber tone of Low.
Nice setlist. The songs from Double Negative sound great live. My only comment would be to mix in some older tracks. Alan and Mimi sound so good when they are singing together.
We do love you Mimi. And Alan, and Steve. RIP and love to the Sparhawks and Parkers and fans everywhere.
She is forever exquisite ⛅️ ♥️ 🌊

the way they do Quorum on stage is magnificent. RIP Mimi Parker

the most quiet and loudest and most beautiful shows I've ever seen
Quorum live version is pure bliss
Low made the music that no one would dare to do. They believed in this deep slow sounds that no one would ever do. They created the magic of Low.
RIP Mimi.. No words.. just LOVE

so great. dang they would have been perfect for one of those twin peaks bar music scenes
David Lynch should somehow get these guys on his new show "Wisteria". They'd fit right in!
I've been listening to Low for nearly two decades, and Double Negative is their best yet.
Fly is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've ever heard in my life.
what a beautiful legacy of music she left behind.
Ever since Double Negative came out I've been desperate to know how they'd translate such a synth-driven record into the live arena - now I know and it's stunning. Thanks a bunch!
even on the record its still his guitar that sounds so synth-y. just with more processing. its pretty incredible
Yep, I was a bit nervous about how it would work. Shouldn't have worried it was probably the best I've seen them play.
No synths on those records.
This version of Pissing honestly needs to be on Spotify. It's godly.
Grazie ❤ suoni meravigliosi ❤
FLY - one of their best songs ever, that bass line
Good call. This live version is killer ! Sleep At The Bottom has a speaker rattling bass line also.
goodbye, Mimi. thank you for all you gave.
I always cry listening to LOW!
amazing set. RIP Mimi

Artists are supposed to improve as they hone their craft. If an artist's work doesn't improve, they're shit.
