As soon aa I heard the news Mimi had passed away I had to come here and listen to this version of Holy Ghost. Thanks for everything Mimi, and love & light to everyone who loved her x
I understand, I also had to listen to her voice, as it is so beautiful and soothing... and with this loss, I really need comforting! Thanks Mimi for your music, you're an angel!
Same here, I can't believe I never knew about them until I heard an NPR segment about Low two days after Mimi's passing - they played parts of "Days Like These" and "More" (I think) and they were so beautiful I just had to reach frantically for my phone as I was driving (unsafe I know, sorry - but I was trying to be careful too) to Shazam it so I could find the songs for later. And then I saw Rick Beato's video just a few days later
Oh man, I’m so gutted to hear that Mimi from Low has died. I went to see Low at The John Peel tent 2019 with a perfect buzz and they delivered an amazing experience which had me instantly in tears… I spent the set mesmerised by Mimi, her incredible harmonies and beauty completely enveloped me… RIP Mimi xx
I descovered Low with the song Lullaby, in my bedroom while scrolling youtube. It really was as if somebody took care of my heart and told me that it was ok to feel sad sometimes... Thank you Mimi 💜
I saw Low live twice when I lived in Seattle, back in the late 90s, early 2000s. Some of my fondest memories at a concert, and I will never forget what a special band this was. RIP Mimi.
I saw Low in Brisbane Australia in 2002 and Low were staying in the same hotel as us... Mimi was in the lobby reading a penguin classic, and I so wanted to tell her how cool she was,,, but couldn't do it!!! God Bless you Mimi. You and Alan have bought me so much joy,
OMGosh! How have I NOT known about this band! They’re incredible. I was recently introduced to them through the show DEVS. I definitely slept on them, but I hope that the show will help them reach a new audience (I’m one of those people), because they are amazing.
Can’t this station simply take over my local BBC ( ‘radio Solent ‘ ) analogue frequency for even a day ?. It’s 96.1 and has 10kw of wasted radiation covering central south coast england & potentially 800 000 tasteless or deaf souls in need of music therapy at least . You feature The Chameleons and Low which alone beats Billy Ocean and Elton John. ( can keep the local soccer programme for your afternoon off ) . Many thanks ❤️
i've not given myself permission to grieve in the wake of our having lost parker. here we are 18...19 months later and i'm still trying to come to terms with the reality of it. i first took notice in late 2002 when Trust was released - it's in the drugs. indeed. this is all moving far too fast.
Saw the YT window for a second out of the corner of my eye. "Holy cow, Alan looked so young!" I thought. My attention focused, I looked at the screen. Oh, it was Steve that I had seen. "Holy cow, Steve looks so... mature!" I thought.
hard to find a band that channels more powerfully. i was gonna start practicing, started looking at this. some of these aren't even real go-to's for me.. kiss 20 minutes goodbye. low are remarkable.
Hey Low people! Let me ask you some questions about the weather for five minutes! Because you seem very very interested in questions about storm systems! And inquiring minds want to know how you feel about dark skies! Great performance. A departure and an arrival all rolled together. I'd love to see an edited version of this without DJ Thunderdouche trying to muck it all up.
Saw them in Nottingham, a few years ago, sad to hear Mimi died, my thoughts go out to her husband & kids. Being of the same age it guts me when I hear of the passing of another musician who's music I grew up with, Leonard Cohen, Lemmy, Phil & Eddie, David Bowie to name a few. My generation is passing, the world isn't a better place, I hate to see it in such a parlous state, made worse by the pursuit of money, by people who have more than enough. Whilst these parasites thrive, people who create fine music pass on. Fuck it.
Was great and pretty unexpected to see these guys contributing vocals to a Swans album . I ´ve always been into both bands and I´d never read any of them mentioning one another ... plus just got distracted by one of the greatest guitar tones I´ve ever heard at 06:09 ... screw the comment ...
mimi's voice -- heaven sent? i don't know and i have no clue either. and, hmm, plastic cup love happy song to jim capaldi. i jizzawazswd hand's free. the low spark...
Of course when I start liking a band and researching them, I find out one of them is dead. Stereolab and Type O Negative. My old bandmate introduces me to Type O. Me- "I really like his voice and the band, let's go see them live". Bandmate - "Oh yeah? Too bad, Peter Steele died two weeks ago".
As soon aa I heard the news Mimi had passed away I had to come here and listen to this version of Holy Ghost. Thanks for everything Mimi, and love & light to everyone who loved her x
with you. Grieving and also feeling such gratitude today
Devastated.
RIP Mimi!

Yes. This one hurts. 💜✨🙏
Rest in peace beautiful Mimi. This world is getting poor without your beautiful and soothing voice.
I just discovered them. I am so bummed about Mimi's passing. I was hoping I would be able to go see them live someday.
What a loss
Rest in peace Mimi, a wonderous talent, sublime voice, the angel among the darkness XO
yea, beautiful music.
There's something wrong with the world when I've only just discovered this incredible band.
Rick Beatos channel? That's where I first heard of them.
You're right, though.

welcome aboard
@@kgabkI think the radio DJ’ would mispronounce their name, so I never heard Low, but instead some variation or Lurr or Lorw.
Rest in peace, Mimi 🌻
Listened to this over and over on the sad news of Mimi’s passing. Thank you for the gift you brought to this world.
Oh man, I’m so gutted to hear that Mimi from Low has died. I am deeply saddened and my heart is heavy with the loss of such a great spirit! You live on in all the great music you leave behind.
Mimi had such a pure melodic voice. It moves me. RIP.
Rest easy and fly hi gentle hearted lady. We love you. Your songs will move us forward. Thank you.
I descovered Low with the song Lullaby, in my bedroom while scrolling youtube. It really was as if somebody took care of my heart and told me that it was ok to feel sad sometimes... Thank you Mimi 💜
Da kann man nur niederknien und weinen..... Wir sehen uns am Regenbogenende ..MIT! Musik von LOW
1000 years from now
Adding love to the spirit of Mimi.
I had totally forgotten about Low until the news of her death. I checked my collection and they ate there. RIP.
I hadn't even heard of them but that's what brought me here too . Beautiful music .

Can there be a more perfect, beautifully melancholy band? I think not. Can't wait to see them live soon.
I love them but to answer your question, yes: Slowdive. I would love to see a Beach House, Slowdive, Low collaboration/crosspollination sometime.
She has passed away. I hope you got to see her.
@@VinylBound i did. RIP Mimi.
@@DopamineOverload i did not. you best remain grateful to the end!

I remember first hearing about Low from "The Mothman Prophecies" and followed them since. Amazing band. Always love hearing about you guys!
Descansa en Paz Mimi, eres y serás una inspiración para mi.
Thanks for all and for the unforgettable show in Bologna 2018, Rip, the earth is light to you.
i like the dude rolling a joint in the background
Low have always made incredibly beautiful music and this performance shows how they could so much out of very little. RIP Mimi
Goodness, what awful news about Mimi
Thanks for everything - what an amazing legacy of music but stunned she’s gone
❤❤❤❤❤
Guy has the most rare, improbable band of his generation and spends the time talking about regional weather. Ya blew it, Troy.
it got a response out of parker actually, however brief, so i'm inclined to disagree actually.

I did appreciate the nerdy guitar question. Thanks!
in one word , sublime

Daytime music radio all over the UK is bloody awful . You aren't alone . If i could only never hear Billy Ocean again ...
Im in the UK. I listen to KEXP via Internet radio app through the day.
Swett. Noise. Relaxing. Everything!!! I really love this band!!!
You put a boulder in my chest but I don't hate you for it. Rest easy Mimi x
Superb from a wonderful album
Mimi sounds sublime
And Alan's guitar a shimmering delight, and those keyboards very cool

Love these guys, saw them in Stockholm couple of years back. When are you putting up Daniel Norgren performance ?
How much & what influence did Kramer {Shimmy Disc} have on Low ?!

I love how appropriately moody and low the host seems at the start etc.

So very sad. Mimi had the most beautiful voice.
Did the host receive an angry letter from mayor's office of Mitchell, SD complaining about his on-air dissing of his hometown?
