I can’t believe this is almost a decade old. This album helped me through a really crappy stretch of my life. I don’t know if the band ever looks at this channel but I want to say how grateful I am for that.
This album is an incredible debut album and I feel each album gets better and better. They are so amazing live I am glad I can say I saw them live. The reason I love Synthpop and Synthwave is the music is very much usually so chill and puts me in just a great headspace.

Although this was a single, it was criminally under appreciated for years. Seems it’s finally getting the respect it deserves - the production is top notch and the lyrics are absolutely killer. A Chvrches classic.

+Dale Rider What are you on about? She needs to study? This girl has a 4 year law degree and masters in journalism. I'd say she's pretty well studied. Perhaps some of the problems you have understanding her are because she has a Scottish accent and you are not Scottish ? I'm just assuming you aren't, but perhaps I'm wrong. I understand her vocals crystal clear on just about every word in every song this band has.

I was just saying that I'm sure her vocabulary and what not are great, because you probably wouldn't have multiple degrees while having a limited vocab or not knowing what words sound like.
God, I love this band. My dad used to play CHVRCHES songs all the time when I was young. Every CHVRCHES song feels like home to me now.

The addition of the drums to that chorus build-up is just such so impactful, even quite emotional - it really has this potent effect that beautifully culminates in the climax of the song.

Came across this video last night trying to find new cool alternative bands. In about 10 minutes after listening to two songs i downloaded the whole album. This 80's pop/alternative sound is incredible

If you love this band you should definitely check out cannons, purity ring, phantogram, alunageorge, Marina, the sounds and the yeah yeah yeah's. Grouplove, big grams and arcade fire have female/male vocalists. And here's some male vocalist bands that are in the same vein, ya know like indie electro kinda stuff- Miike Snow, tame impala, glass animals, jungle, alt j, neighborhood, foster the people, the strokes, broken bells, big grams, Phoenix, crosses, two door cinema club, Ratatat, Empire of the sun, Bloc Party, eagles of death metal, milky chance and pixies. I hope whoever is still reading this is having a wonderful evening and I promise you won't be disappointed by any of those artists I suggested. Those are some of my faves of that genre. I also love primus, dead Kennedys, tool, nine inch nails, bad brains, faith no more and underground hip hop like zion I, atmosphere, cunninlynguists, sol, Sam lachow, living legends, hieroglyphics, people under the stairs, big Boi, del, sweatshop union Andre nickatina and a million more. K I'm done now.

I don't know who will see this or read this, but they toured the album BEFORE the album release - so when they played this at their show at the Commodore in Vancouver, my friends and I had no idea what any songs were, but I remember this one sticking out, and we were going crazy to it. This takes me right back.

Listening to this band's music brings back fond memories of the 80s.
Odd story, I woke up to this song at the Pemberton Music Festival. I was alone when a laid down, but surrounded by a crowd when I woke up. It was super surreal, and such a fun experience to enjoy this band for the first time, alongside so many others.
Modern 1980s to the dot. The video, sound of the music, even lots of clothing. So awesome, I just discovered this song and band about 3 hours ago, I've now watched this 5 times.

About a year ago, I discovered Chvrches by accident . My partner was playing random music lists on RUclips and suddenly the video for "Gun" came on. I was about to leave the house and I'm like "Whoa, what is this???" I mean seriously LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT and I can't say that about a single other band that got started in the past decade!
Why did I never hear of the this band. They are amazing! I love their sound.

Hearing this song on the radio back in the day helped inspire me to apply an 80s aesthetic to something I've been working on. Love the fade out at the end of this track, confirms that it's a massive love letter to that classic 80s synth pop sound.

I know we are about the same age, but I admire this chick's gutsiness. I came up up with a lot of reasons I should not do those things. This lady balled her way to where she wanted to be. I'M an American and I am surrounded by weapons and the prerogative to use them, and this tiny pretty lady did more with her voice and me and my hidden handgun ever will. Love this song.
