Thankyou BB, this was amazing as always. The filming and locations for The Day Before You Came were very sophisticated for a music video especially for that time,I remember when I first watched this in 1982 ,it captivated me by the song and the cinematography ,but also by its eerie subdued darkness and the detached atmosphere of all 4 of them in the room together, this until now was the final image in my mind when they disbanded not long after .BUT, now with them together again with joy and happiness in their hearts, showering us with love ,this film is but another stage in their life VOYAGE and remains just another moment in the journey we share with them.Thankyou for showing us the locations in your beautiful majestic city of Stockholm apart from becoming familiar with it ,it also gives depth for all of us in this ABBA journey and to share in the locations where they produced and created the music and songs for us.Thankyou BB astounding and pure perfection as always.
Thankyou again BB for another great video. I am planning a trip to London & Stockholm for next year, you are giving me much information on places to visit. Much appreciated. Can’t wait for your next video..
This is fantastic! Seeing these locations makes me quite emotional, as they mean so much to the end of the first ABBA chapter. Thank you for this! I had no idea that so many important places were so close to each other! :)
Brilliant, Sir! Absolutely Brilliant! Your research is impeccable as well as your professional presentation! You provided amazing background information on things most fans didn't know. It was also interesting to return to the train station and bridge!
I still remember seeing the video for TDBYC the first time - on Canadian television no less, as I grew up in the US in Buffalo NY right on the border! - in Novermber 1982. The 13-year old me was simulatneously confused and thrilled by this sophisticated song and video, with its bleak grey tones, lack of a proper ABBA refrain, Frida's ghostly operatic vocalise, and the mannequin-like gazes of Björn, Benny and Frida in the final scene in the China Theatern. It was so different from anything else they had done before, and for me, this is ABBA's masterpiece and swan song (until Voyage at least...) Thanks, BB, for identifying all of the locales in the video - I will definitely hunt them down in my next trip to Stockholm! (That said, is there anything else worth visiting around Tumba station? ::)
Watching this and seeing how all 4 look so 'distanced' from each other i realise it's the same way they looked on The Visitors album cover where a relevant person had discribed that this photo session had taken place in a quite cold atmosphere, both enviromentally and psycologically.Concerning the video to TDBYC,I know that was also a part of a role watching B+B+F standing back in silence and almost frozen like marionettes but it also included a big part of their sad reality in their personal lives. They seemed to have the will to communicate the fact that they were not the group we used to know. They were 2 seperated couples and 4 mature, sophisticated individuals just working together. And coming to 2021, i revisited many of the VOYAGE premier fan made videos of 26th of May and Abba's press conference outside the stadium.Comparing then and now i noticed this; While Agnetha wasn't so keen on speaking English so fluently on her getting exposed again to the medias and getting 'mobed' by all these reporters,it was obvious that she felt so safe and pleased now,on having the rest 3 of them around her.And It's also obvious how they were aware of her during all this. And it looks so caring and tender the way Benny and esp Bjorn and Frida are closely keeping an eye on her as long as she was asked several questions each now and then, in order to interfere and support her if needed.Their deeper bonds are literally visible now there.
Has to be one of my all time favourites from Abba, I remember Bjorn saying it was one of his favourites when asked by Noel Edmonds on the BBC on their last tv appearance. Love your vids Bobby, love the fact that there is always something new to discover.I have been a fan of ABBA since winning Waterloo at the ESC in 1974, I was a boy of 9 but realised they were a very special group who at the time I hoped would go on to do much much more. I wasn't wrong or disappointed.
For me 'Knowing me..'/'That's Me' and TDBYC are my most fave Abba videos ever.( MMM and TWTIA the 2 runners up on my list)TDBYC is reminiscent of French Film Noir art. I've seen a couple of fan-filmed videos in the net that got inspired by TDBYC while impersonating similar stories and same kind of filming or editing coated with this Abba song.
So well done! Not only is the actual video very cinematic, so is the way you put it together, your video for the "now" part. :) I also think the video and song, "The Day Before You Came" are a high point in their career.
One of my very favourite ABBA tracks - and for decades I wondered where that station actually was. Thank you once again for such a wonderful video 👍🏼😃⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I look forward to new videos from you bb...so informative...imagine...you weren't even born when I was in my element in Dublin watching my idols performing at the rds in Dublin...the final concert ot their final world tour...my ticket cost me the pricely sum of£ 8.50...
It is good seeing how these locations looked then and now. The viaduct looks amazing still now. That is what we call railway bridges like that here in the UK.
Wow, BB, this is wonderful. You leave me speechless as usual. The part at the end is bittersweet and heartwarming. Captivating. Beautiful, yet so simple. Classic ABBA.
I LOVE THIS MUSIC VIDEO. AGNETHA REALLY SHOWS OFF HER ACTING SKILLS. THIS TRACK IS SOOOO UNDERAPRECIATED, THAT IT HURTS. SHOULD'VE BEEN WORLDWIDE NO. 1 SMASH HIT 🥰😍😍🥰
I have always loved this song and the video too. Even though they had been split for almost three years, I remember it being a bit of an adjustment seeing Bjorn and Agnetha not as a couple. I guess you could say that already happened with the "Head Over Heels" video, but this was more directly brought forth here. For me, this was the "new", "mature" ABBA. Oh, how I would have loved ABBA to have stayed together for at least a few more years at that time and how wonderful the music that would have come from that would have been. Thank you for yet another wonderful video!
In a UK interview at the time of the 'Abba-The Singles the first 10 years' promotion, when a journalist kinda wished them/ asking about another 10,Agnetha(i think) said smth like 'Oh,Well not another ten.Maybe if we can keep it for another two"...I think it was the wise subconscious step for them to silently 'fall asleep'.One of the guys had revealed years later that if the final singles had gone to N01 they would have kept it for some more time.Twas a bit of shock for both Abba and us that the singles after HOH didn't make a big commercial impact( though both 'The Visitors'lp and its follower double lp collection still hit the No1 spot). But things turned out differently for many reasons that would take hours to analyze and 'Abba were just tired of being Abba' as someone had said.I personally estimate that they could have made a 'farewell comeback' by the time of the late '80s/late '90s or even a stronger one in 2008.But we will never be totally reassured about how it would have resulted.(And we'll never know). At least this time (2021) with VOYAGE every lil piece just fell excactly where it should be.Its glorious response to both album and show is a proven fact and we can all sigh in relief.Only problem is that all band members keep running out of lifetime as we all human are. This river can't be stopped for none of us.
Thanks for posting BB I have always loved this song and the video they made really compliments it I always felt. I always knew ABBA were special from when I was a child and watched them win The ESC I knew they would win. Next time we visit Stockholm we will have to take a look at those locations. Thanks😊
I always loved this video, the beautiful scenes and Agnetha flirting with the guy on the train! I do wish the other members had been utilized in a better way than the theater sequence, but it was still OK. Had they made other records into the 80s, I think the videos would have been more sophisticated. Thanks BB for the location video!
04:08 Arlanda Car Park - Try to look out for Agnetha and that guy 🙂, and Volvo 240, SAAB 900, Volkswagen Golf and Renault 4. 🙂 1982 - those were the days. 🙂
Hey B'sb,i always felt that lyricwise DSMD is a kind of sequence to 'One Of Us'.You can also call me a silly dreamer if i say this;A perfect video to DSMD would have been the combination of TDBYC 'scenery',ending to the 'OOU' 'appartment video'.Imagine an Agnetha returning to that very same station with some luggage, wearing same clothing on her way to finally arrive at that 2nd floor appartment.I 'ld leave Universal to do the rest,lol!...Or even maybe to the creative imaginative wit of all Abba fans. That's far better.
Thank you for showing us the locations BB... I love this song so much and actually I got addicted to listen to this song over and over again specially after Mamma Mia 2 movie came out with Meryl streep's version.... And the original song is also good with agnetha's amazing vocal performance and Frida's hauting operatic sound.... And of course I like the music video they've done to the song... The video perfectly matches for the song very well And i want ABBA to reunite and make a new music video for one of their new songs came out with the new album 😍 (I know it's most probably unlikely to happen) Anyway once again thank you so much BB for your dedication to make these videos with valuable information ❤️
Insightful and fascinating as always. Thank you. Forty years ago... I still find this so difficult to comprehend. I was 18 and listening to Abba. And now 40 years on, I'm no longer 18 but still listening to Abba.
Thank you again, I have loved seeing all these locations nowadays. Although The Day Before You Came is one of my favourite songs by ABBA, the clip is not among my favourites. The things I like the most in the clip are seeing scenes of Sweden and, of course, watching Agnetha so beautiful and stunning, smiling flirtaciously on the train.
Thank you for sharing this Bobby's brother, I love your channel ! And love Frida's operatic aria at 2:22, virtually isolated, so haunting, can I find this anywhere? Thank you Van
Thank You very Much for Your time and research, showing us places and buildings with great knowledge and explanation about ABBA history, i was taken back in time once again thanks to YOU. Best regards from Australia Melbourne 2022.
BB, I was really looking forward to you sprinting down the platform at Tumba, recreating the video! ;-) Another interesting piece, thanks - it has been far too long since I last visited Stockholm.
Thanks for showing us these locations. Agnetha was asked once where this rail station was and she couldnt remember, she only said it was near Stockholm.
I had a crush on Agnetha even since I was a kid. I dated my first girlfriend pretty much at the same time when this video was shot. She even looked like Agnetha and could have even gone for a singing carrier, if she only wanted to. Agnetha‘s flirting scenes on the station’s platform and inside the train still hit me hard up to today. Impossible to imagine, that any heterosexual man could not be struck down by her eyes. She is just such an impressive person.
I think that the flirty double look that Agneta gives the man on the train is the best flirty double look that I have ever seen in any film or video. If I had been that man I would have been unable to have resisted trying to speak to her.
Thank you again BB. I so look forward to your videos. These places will be added to the list for when we travel to Sweden! Maybe not quite the same thing but will you be showing us Gothenburg where Abba have their handprints in the pavement I think it is? Thanks once again
I visited the Astra Bromma bridge a few years ago. Shame the new bridge blocks the view. This guide would have been helpful for my trip but i'm sure it will be useful for others too.
There is a hidden theme in "The Day Before You Came" The railway station references one of abba's Early songs "Another Town, Another Train" The cinema, The visitors cover picture. The hopelessness and lack of movement and not looking at each other shows Tension in Their faces. Indicating the impending hiatus "end of Abba" The train leaving the stations "the train has left the station there is no chance of return" Agnetha with the actor "moving on from Bjorn" there is more but iam autistic and tired
There was another video made with Abba , just because you came. This time it was performed by Two Actors, one looks like a top fashion female model and a male actor . They were in a shopping center and the female embarrassingly walking to wards him taking her clothes off, turns out to be about cigarettes. Does anyone know there names please. It was a fantastic video and went well with Abbas song. Thank you
So interesting! I simply love these videoes. Where was Tropical loveland video filmed? I would love to se you present the places in Tropical loveland. Thank you for sharing BB. You are doing such a good job!🌹🌹🌹
Thank you for these (as always) interesting insights, BB. I remember thinking back then, when I first saw the video, that the guy would be a good match for Agnetha and she deserved to be happy again. Does anyone know the actor's name?
I am really enjoying these location videos. My trip to Stockholm was cancelled in 2020 so it’s good to see what I will see eventually. What is the burst of music you use at the end of this one and most of your other videos?
Agnetha stood much further down towards the eastern end of the platform. There are lots of things in the background from both angles that can still be seen now.
Your story of our Beloved ABBA is very informative and interesting. Tack! These people are simply amazing to plan and engineer their recording sessions into sophisticated and effective success for their unique fame and contribution to Music. ABBA are prolific creators in many ways.. It's not a wonder why they were so successful and Loved by the thousands. Vive ABBA 👍💖🎶 BB thanks again for your wonderful and interesting input!!
Well Bobby's Brother you done it again 👍another excellent review of ABBA from the past..! I still to this day think 'The day before you came' was an ABBA masterpiece & up there as one of Agnetha's finest hour 😁👍this song along with the video is a little sombre as at the time it was coming to the end of their hey day. Anyway 10/10 for your usual attention to detail..& I for one love being educated by your good self 👌. Thanks for posting 🙏
As always, thank you for this video, BB! It's so great to see the locations now and the video footage back to back! I agree with michael snaidero that "the filming was very sophisticated for a music video", which is one of the reasons I never get tired of watching it! To me, it looks like an Arthouse film in its artistic style. There's something really gritty and true to life about it, which only adds to the sadness of the song. You really get the feeling like you could just bump into Agnetha and that guy on a cold, rainy autumn morning at the station. In my opinion, this video especially showcases Agnetha's acting abilities alongside Jonas Bergström! The shot that always tugs at my heart strings the most is the one in the parking lot, when the guy walks away and Agnetha looks on, but turns away, just as the guy turns around to look back at her - they are so achingly close and yet, they can't be together... In an ABBA documentary, the narrator said about "The Day Before You Came" that "ABBA succomed to the darkness at the edge of town". That, I think, perfectly sums up both the song and the video. And of course, the last scene in the theater is heartbreaking in a whole different way, because you really feel the end approaching for ABBA - well, at least for the next 40 years. We are so incredibly fortunate to have "Voyage" now!!!
These video’s are exceptional! Thank you.
Also,'documental', tutorial and precious.
Another great video for a great song. Whenever I see that stage sequence at the end I think - Man Agnetha should have worn black more often.
Thankyou again BB for another great video. I am planning a trip to London & Stockholm for next year, you are giving me much information on places to visit. Much appreciated. Can’t wait for your next video..

One of the best song's 👌 so haunting and so underrated.

Insightful and fascinating as always. Thank you. Forty years ago... I still find this so difficult to comprehend. I was 18 and listening to Abba. And now 40 years on, I'm no longer 18 but still listening to Abba.
Muy interesante, muchas gracias por compartirlo con todos nosotros,un saludo cordial.🍀☘️
I love this song and the music so much
I walked by this location yesterday without knowing, but now I know 🙂
This video shows how cinematic abba's songs were/are and what a beautiful country Sweden is
What a way to celebrate this anniversary!
I've always wondered about that bridge, thank you for all the research.
"and where they returned over the decades to pick up the pieces" ... Very fine scripting! 10/10!!!
Outstanding work... magically traversing space and time!
Thanks so much, BB.
Always pleasure to watch. Hugs.
You are so welcome!

Does FRIDA Background(opera voice)Amazing Song Thank You ABBA+SWEDEN❤
Oh wow, can't thank you enough for this, since it's my favorite song from Abba. Amazing!
Thank you for sharing this Bobby's brother, I love your channel ! And love Frida's operatic aria at 2:22, virtually isolated, so haunting, can I find this anywhere? Thank you Van
What Iv'e heard they were offered 1 billion dollar to make one performance in the the 1990's but they declined. One billion dollar for one gig!
Thank You very Much for Your time and research, showing us places and buildings with great knowledge and explanation about ABBA history,
i was taken back in time once again thanks to YOU. Best regards from Australia Melbourne 2022.
BB, I was really looking forward to you sprinting down the platform at Tumba, recreating the video! ;-)
Another interesting piece, thanks - it has been far too long since I last visited Stockholm.
Thank you for this it is most interesting too in comparison of course.
Woooow! I saw it on google maps)) was interesting what bridge is it too)
The China theater. It may just be a interesting coincidence but didn't the woman in this song say she had Chinese food to go?
Wonderful places from North 😍
Fantastic video, very interesting, thank you.
I never realized how deep this song was until now
Thank you again BB. I so look forward to your videos. These places will be added to the list for when we travel to Sweden!
Maybe not quite the same thing but will you be showing us Gothenburg where Abba have their handprints in the pavement I think it is?
Thanks once again
Agnetha never looked sexier than in this video.
Fantastic. I would love to visit Sweden and these places.
You should!
Thank you for the videos ... nothing left to say.:)
I visited the Astra Bromma bridge a few years ago. Shame the new bridge blocks the view. This guide would have been helpful for my trip but i'm sure it will be useful for others too.
Such a shame, I agree, that the beautiful bridge is obscured by the newer one.
Podrian poner subtitulos en español?. Gracias!.
Yes, done!
It means so much to me. I get emotional. I cried. Words can't express my thanks!!
Love your videos Bobby's Brother Fascinating Love from Australia 🦘💕💞💖
Thanks for watching! 🇦🇺
Thank you for these videos! I really enjoy it so much! I'm from South America, I would love to visit Sweden someday!
Yes, do it!
Thanks! Great to see where the video was shot. Best ABBA song ever.
Hmm, guess in that Chinese theather must have also been any Chinese foodstore... :-D
You maybe right because in this song didn't Agnetha say she had Chinese food to go?
Great acting by Agnetha
Thank you. Loved it.
Brilliant storytelling
Thankyou BB 🙂 This is such an underated channel. Bobby's Brother easily deserves 320K subscribers. His work is great 🙂

Wonderful BB!! All those infos... wow! I love this song and the Video fits perfectly to the sad song of a "hidden" romance...
Thank you for these (as always) interesting insights, BB.
I remember thinking back then, when I first saw the video, that the guy would be a good match for Agnetha and she deserved to be happy again.
Does anyone know the actor's name?
Well done, and yes i did watch till the end. You always deliver great videos, so intresting. Thanks for all the good work.
I am really enjoying these location videos. My trip to Stockholm was cancelled in 2020 so it’s good to see what I will see eventually.
What is the burst of music you use at the end of this one and most of your other videos?
Thank you
Another interesting segment on Abbas past!! Thanks bb and hope your well
thanks a bunch for this informative video - will you do an actual anylysis of the music video aslo, please?
Agnetha stood much further down towards the eastern end of the platform. There are lots of things in the background from both angles that can still be seen now.
Outstanding episode, as always.
BB, if not for your videos I would not have opportunity to see and learn as I do with you. Thank you x
Thank you for another great video!

These people are simply amazing to plan and engineer their recording sessions into sophisticated and effective success for their unique fame and contribution to Music. ABBA are prolific creators in many ways..
It's not a wonder why they were so successful and Loved by the thousands.
Vive ABBA 👍💖🎶
BB thanks again for your wonderful and interesting input!!
