I’m 42 now, I still get emotional watching this thinking back to my childhood when life was great ❤❤
I'm in the same boat. Very, very emotional.. I'm watching it now.
@@danielrussell1594 Same with me, on 2024, I turn 44 on March 27. I was 5 when the movie came out. I miss life being simpler and the times. Too much technology now and smartphones.
lol you were t even old enough to watch it when it came out!
I loved The Gonnies and the 80s was such a different time and decade and everyone were alot happier and no school shootings no social media no internet no cell phones, no facebook my space twitter, no problems and everyone was living the American Dream and those days you could be a kid. Thank you for letting me see this and its still the same even back then. I miss those guys Mouth Data Mikey Brand Andy, Chunk, Andy's friend and Sloth. Great video.
Same. Back then the mind-blowing new additions to one's home were an answering machine, a microwave oven, and a VCR. When the first neighbor on the block got an Atari2600, half the neighborhood was there, crowded into their living room, to marvel at it.
Yeah it’s let’s you all connect obviously nobody remembers the consequences that come too
Lol you act like the 80s was some magical time with no problems. Yea everyone was living the dream....no poverty at all. Just living the dream....so weird
Mass murder was still a pretty common thing it just didnt move to schools yet. Might I add school where not gun free zones in most places yet either
America reached it's peak in the 60s, since then it went downhill, degenerate and broken.
School shooting is a easy answer, increased narcissism, a massive decrease in parenting= increase bullying + Kids are on way too many medicines, so there is a combination of issues.
I think The Goonies really portrayed the real life adventure we all wanted as young kids. We all had an imagination that could've thought up this story. The location was absolutely perfect and vibes well with everything. This will still be cool to any younger generation years from now.😊
I like how he's always respectful to the locals around the filming locations
Well he is a human being
The 80's was the best time to be a kid, this brings back memories. Thank you for this!
It absolutely was. Seriously seriously wish I could turn back time and live it again.
For sure
@@OCRay1 so do i
it really was, especially for film and tv shows.
Noway the 70's was for me Hah! :)
One of my FAVORITE movies when I was younger. I am 51 now and STILL love watching this movie on a cold rainy day!!!!! Enjoyed watching this!! Thank you!!
Same here! And, I’m now 49

@@jaimejlynn about to watch it I got a nasty flu yayy
It’s unfortunate, But They just don’t make movies like this anymore. This movie made you feel like you were truly apart of the adventure . Like we were right there walking through caves with Mikey and mouth . It’s really cool to see all of the filming locations , there’s obviously a lot of changes , but at the same time so much is still the same . Almost like it’s been frozen in time . ANOTHER awesome video ! Thanks for taking a lot of us back in time , a time were things were just a little more simple . Kids played in the streets until their parents called for them . Families actually sat down at the dinner table . I definitely miss those times . Thanks again for another great video . Maybe one day you can take us back to stand by Me and those film locations !?
And I’m not positive, but was chunks name Lawrence ? Or something like that ? lol I think I remember the sheriff saying his name when chunk called to tell them about his friends being kidnapped by the Fratelies. Sorry I know I just butchered that name lol
Chunks' name was Lawrence remember how he told the Police Officer when he was down in the basement that he was with Sloth and they were being chased by the Fratelies and he was tied up? I just saw the movie again.
It would be woke goonies and the girls would be the hero’s.
@@quantumtechcrypto7080 And it would flop at the box-office like woke feminazi Ghostbusters. Everything woke turns to shit.
families sat down at the dinner table... isn't that the truth. Miss those times and watching epic TV with the family especially during Christmas holiday.
Just watched it on peacock and the cop said the name Lawrence aka Chunk.
I was 6 when The Goonies came out... brilliant film and encouraged my friends and me to go on bike rides and adventures 😆
me too.. doesnt it suck being 43 id give anything to go back to the 80s hell even the 90s.
Yea, Goonie's and E.T. made me want to go on bike ride adventure's with my friends, i swore if i pedaled fast enough, my bike would lift off into the air, just like on E.T.
I went to Astoria a few years ago and I love exploring the town in the rain while playing Cyndi Lauper in my car 😂 most nostalgic feeling ever
Me the same
But playing goonies soundtrack in a jeep
Is it in America???

Unfortunately, the current generation fails to understand how valuable this movie is for both cinema and oneself. I'm looking forward to my daughter growing a little older so we can watch the movie together. This adventure film is simply marvelous; it's unique to me.
Who cares? Fuck em, they suck anyway.
Did the The Goonies pilgrimage in 2019. Came all the way from Australia, It was so amazing. Astoria was such an awesome place. The whole Oregon coast was magical. Can’t wait to get back there to take my kids who now share my love of the greatest kids film of all time.

It's one of those films you will always remember watching as a kid and just as good even after 36 years.
Kinda like stand by me.but better.imo. as a kid it's a killer movie. That made you want to find a treasure ship haa
@@captainscentsible1811 I thought of that movie too lol
Aint it just mate, when we had our little gang when we was kids we always used to get the chunky one of us to do the truffle shuffle lol and to this day when we have a meet up and go for a few pints we always get him to do it ... when he is well n proper drunk hahaha
Only watched it again 2 days ago came on tv as I was flicking through and it had to stay on 👌🤣🤣🤣
@Jay W and when did you realise the older you get the more time speeds up and years go shooting by.
I'm 50+yrs old. I love the movie Goonies. Even to this day if I'm having a difficult day physically and/or emotionally just watching Goonies puts a smile on my face. I'm a huge Stephen King fan.
I've been down that road so many times as a kid, I used to play all over Cannon Beach and Astoria (same with Kindergarten Cop) I have fond memories of exploring those caves at the Beach with my sisters. The first few minutes took me back 30 years. I wish I could go back.
So everyone knows, the 3rd prisoner is my father.. Edward Colver. He did lots of little roles back in da 80s. And the little girl who gets her bike stolen, saying " my bike " is my sister.. I have lots of photos of the film being made, behind the scenes pics. I was a very lucky kid.
OMG HOW COOL IS THAT , this is one of my favorite movies , Great scenes throught out the movie , your so lucky to have these memories, have a great day stay well be SAFE 🙏❤😎
That is SO awesome. Thanks for sharing!
My parents adopted her like 3 months before the movie was being filmed. We all live in LA now. Go figure.. lol

Ditto. Then the following week, my mum rented out a film for me called "The Go-Kids" (Frog Dreaming / The Quest in other regions). Similar box art to The Goonies, so thought I was in for a right treat. Nope. Totally mislead.

I was 13 years old when I watched The Goonies in 1985, for me it's another icon of the wonderful 80s. Greetings from Brazil.
The Goonies is one of my favourite movies of all time! Really appreciate all the work you put into this video, I was totally geeking out too when you showed all those locations and memorabilia!
❤️
The fall colours, the rain, and the hilly location painted quite a different USA that we were used to seeing in UK at the time. Its no LA suburb! The house left a strong impression on me as a kid. This video is something between a treasure chest and free regression therapy for me, thanks!
Agreed Steve.
@Doves I wanted nothing more than to be a part of that bike chase in E.T.
As a kid seeing this in the cinema to now a man in his 50s I still love that movie.
Can't wait till my daughter is old enough to watch The Goonies. Hopefully she likes the movie and make it a part of her childhood as she grows up. I'm so glad I was a 80s kid, good times.
The Goonies is a movie you can watch over and over again that never gets old.
Thanks again for a fantastic vid.
From Australia 🥰
Same with stand by me and ET!
Years ago, I stayed at my Neices home for a few. They live in Cleveland, only a couple blocks away from the house on "A Christmas Story". I used to walk down occasionally and just sit on the porch and text on my phone. Always wanted to make it to the Goonies locations. So cool.
I'm an 80s baby and this movie is what my childhood dreams were made of.. this detailed video was so on point it made me pause nearly all flashback clips and take in the nostalgia and compare it with the present. Maaaaan thank you guys so much for this. Love from New Zealand
This guy does a great job with his films. The narratives are always informative and provide great insight into the makings of these classics. "Thou shalt not kill"

Living in Australia, I don’t know if I’ll ever get to visit Astoria. So thank you for this video, “You’ve made my day”.
I'm born and raised in Oregon
Worked alot around Astoria
Best of course but not the only one
The ring
Short circuit
Kindergarten cop
But I'll never enjoy any movie as much as Goonies.
I'm actually stunned Micky's house is still there. I would've put money on it that all those houses would be gone by now for, idk, a golf course or something. xD
Goonies never die
I was guessing a Starbucks 🤷
yessss the house is still there but its had a few different owners over the years one was cool about people coming by it, and then there was one owner who got soooo tired of it she actually boarded up the windows and put up signs, im thinking dont move into a iconic house,
The house was saved with the jewels at the end on the beach
All of the "no trespassing" signs were posted around the house as of 2 years ago, they did not want anyone around.
Where would our childhoods be without this movie. A lot of us grew up watching this movie and still watch this today..... I just finished watching this again a moment ago.
As a child who grew up in the 70's and 80's , Goonies is the movie that defined the decade! Kids related to the movie as well as adults. It is a masterpiece.
80's kid here. This movie is like stepping into a time machine every time I watch it. Much better times too. Amazing video man.
I always wondered what it would be like to live in a town where an iconic movie was shot. Especially a movie like Goonies.
haystack rock was always iconic to me as a young boy watching the goonies, mysterious creepy and a very old historic feel to it . Legendary movie that we wont see the like of again
I can’t believe you went to the goonies house I used to watch that show for the house and I would imagine I lived there when I was young and you went there I was blown away and all the others places in that movie I’m speechless fantastic guys just fantastic 🙌🤩

Awesome!! Who doesn’t love the Goonies!! My friend & old roommate’s uncle is Jake (played by Robert Davi). 👍🏻 What a great, fun movie! I was 14 when it came out. Ahhhh such memories. 🏴☠️☠️

Robert Davi was the voice of Sosa in the game Scarface: The world is yours and Jake also in pixelated form in the NES game The Goonies 2,great game for an unofficial sequel.
It was during the start of covid when I turned the corner walking past an Italian restaurant when I heard him singing the same opera he was singing in this movie. It was a complete ghost town but he was bravely eating his spaghetti on the patio with his girl, as I walked by pretending I didn't notice him as one of the Fitellis. Definitely surreal.

Legendary Goonies!!! I totally felt like a kid watching this tour with y'all!
Visiting these locations is on my bucket list! Along with E.T. locations! The Goonies movie posters have to be some of the coolest movie poster designs EVER created! Also, since we just lost him, RIP Richard Donner! The story of how he disliked kids and came to really enjoy the kid cast of this movie, is fascinating. Goonies is in my top 5 all time films. We kids in the 80’s had the last awesome generation of being kids and still having adventures and fun like they did in this movie. Things have totally changed and gone downhill since for kids.

The comedies, horror and action movies that came out of the 80s is quite amazing.
I live in New York and have always wanted to visit the west coast because of how beautiful most of it is. This would give me a good reason to spend a little extra time in Oregon, and not to much seems to have changed since 1984/1985 either, which is even better. Awesome video, one of your best so far. 👍💀
The Goonies Who Framed Rodger Rabbit and Back to the Future are favorites that I really liked as a kid but that I actually LOVE and appreciate more as an adult today. Those films are touchstones of the 80s, the last great decade before the 90's because they exemplify the pure honest timeless entertainment that came from those decades that certainly has not been present for the last two decades (at least certainly not from mainstream Hollywood.)
Other than the convenience and privilege of the internet, life certainly was much more entertaining and joyful and satisfying than it is today.
I also can't believe how beautiful Astoria is. It's such a lovely friendly warm little town and it's nearby beach is so beautiful.
My favorite scene at the end!!..the massive pirate ship coming into view out in the ocean 💯👍🙂..my day's been made by Grimm life collective..You 2 rock..🤗

I got my son an original Goonies movie poster one Christmas and he said it was his favorite gift that Christmas. I taught my kids right with the best movies from the 80’s!
I was going to john jacob elementary and lived off 35th when filming was going on for this. Use to walk to that store near the highway. I remember all these spots fondly. Haven't been back for over a decade. My mom even worked at the maritime museum. I also went to the bowling alley with my dad. Pretty cool seeing it again! Thanks!
Let us Goonies take a moment of silence to remember the great legend Richard Donner
And Chris Columbus, mostly!!
