The color is MUCH improved. I am a mediun-dark ash blonde who is only greying here and there but mostly going transparent. No color to it at all so it's invisible and I look bald. Trying to find a shade that reflects my natural color but they were all too golden. Went with silver last time. Hair isn't silver but it looks great! Toned down the golden and put in the frosty highlights I had when I spent summers in the sun. The roots even blend in so there isn't such a distinct line of dyed and undyed. My hair was so dirty when I dyed it silver that I wonder if it kept some of the dye from being as effective. Getting ready to use the silver again (Nice and Easy, a new shade for them). Wondering if it will be a little more silvery this 2nd time using the shade. This is all new to me. Nature girl here. If I wasn't so short it wouldn't bother me so much that my cowlicks and transparent hair didn't make me look bald on top. Everybody sees the top of my head. So my fragile, thinning hair gets colored for the first time ever at 65.

Silver is too light, a level 9-10 depending on the shade, could even be 11-12 if just platinum level toners. But your hair is a mix of tones from a 4-5 brown to a very warm 6-7. Therefore silver is too light to effectively tone down your hair. It did a tiny bit, but if you want the Orange out, you first have to decide what end result you desire to achieve. Then you need to lighten your hair to be even or darken it to be even. Then you can tone it with the proper level and pigment.

Yeah 100%, kinda learned that lesson the hard way haha. In the past I've only bleached it to a certain level (lighter than the L'oreal achieved) to colour it with a bright pink or purple. It's a pity cos I loved those colours but I think the brand (RUSH) has since gone under.

    HAIR TIPSS!!!
check your shade level of hair, for example if it's too dark and orange and you get a light pigmented toner it won't be as effective as if you were to use a shade darker than your hair.
I have brassy 6a natural ash brown hair and my previous dye was a warm toned brown... To go back I just need to go a shade darker for the blue and green pigment to really stick!
I'm still struggling to find my color 😅

I went blonde a couple of times before and with dark hair u have to bleach it first and then use the hair color! But u got to go to a Sally’s beauty if u live in the states! If u do it with out knowing what ur doing then u run the risk of your hair falling out especially with using too much bleach! And dying it and then doing it again too soon!!

  • @thaismatsumoto

It’s true that purple and yellow cancel each other out. Problem is that you mixed purple with red,not yellow. You need blonde hair to achieve the color silver. You didn’t have blonde hair at all. Or yellow. And It was different shades of orange so that is why it wasn’t even. You can’t expect a light color to cover two different darker colors evenly.

It looks pretty but yes you have to leave in blue bleach with 20-40 vol long enough to pass the orange. Just do it one more time but don’t put it on your scalp until the end of application. What a great idea to use that as toner. If the developer is 20 vol. maybe dilute it with some water and purple conditioner so that it doesn’t over process the hair. Great job!

Im guessing your hair was much darker when you started. The red pigment in hair 8s the toughest to get through, so if your hair is fairly dark and you want to go light light blonde or lighter, you need to get through all that red pigment first, and if you want to have a blonde without red or gold tones, pick an ash tone blonde, because the ash t8be will neutralize the warm red tones

I just want to let you know it is very normal for your hair to turn yellow at your first attempt because your hair has different coloured pigments that dominate your hair and your must be red or a gingery shade, what you usually do is take the colour down gradually if you are starting with dark hair and wanting to go blonde, if you think about it, it makes sense. I just thought I'd send you this to let you know you did not fail and just needed to take a longer look at it. 😊 good luck with your other ventures

It went evenly you just didn't apply it properly........you apply it to the ends first and let it sit most of the time and when there is 15 ish minutes left you apply it on the roots as the heat from your scalp causes them to process faster......
if you apply on roots first and then the ends you get a un event results because again heat from the scalp make the roots process faster.....since the ends don't get much if any heat from the scalp.

Should of rolled with the orange and make it cowboy copper cuz thays the new thing for winter. Cuz if you had dark hair you need to lighten again. Its a process. It took me almost 3 months of bleaching like once every other week and not using box dye anymore. Now that it finally is platinum i definitely dont want to go with a darker color for winter like alot of people do. Ill just use semi colors in between for the holiday of that month. But i also leave a lot of white out or dye the white to silver as well and it looks like a veil of white or silver. Now this month its silver/white at the top veil, jade green at the middle section of the back and garnet red in the bottom of it all. So basically it reminds me of red white and green candycanes and i love it. It turned out ao well. But to get the purple/blue out of my hair i did one round of color oops and that made the purple blue. Then i used loreal effasol color eraser and it knocked the blue out like it was never there. And i barely lost any hair.

My daughter did this. So pretty ! I wonder if I try it and let my grey come through if it would be noticeable ? I’m trying to transition into grey when I turn 60 and stop colouring Monthly. My current colour is medium blonde , I won’t bleach it

Try purple toning to get rid of brassiness.

I don’t see orange in the video but I do think being a red head works on you. So why not tone and remain a softer redhead? Whoops, I spoke to soon. I like it!

Using Toner helps to releive orange/yellow tones.

I don't know what you ended up doing, but I hope you took it all the way before slapping on the purple! Meaning I hope u got urself peroxide and lightener and did a couple more rounds of bleach
I know it's damage but if you're going to do it do it girl!🤗speaking from experience
