I used W&F on my concrete steps for heavy green mold, June 2022. In 48 hours it turned the mold orange. Stayed orange for months. I decided the W&F didn't work. Well it's November 2023, I realized I hadn't checked the orange streaking in a while. Took a look, and my steps are clean! No mold, no orange. W&F does work, and for some things, it may take time.
I just used the remaining W&F on my black streaked slate roof. I used a Worx 20V power washer with the soda bottle attachment. It worked GREAT to reach my roof, better than expected. So we'll see how "year old" W&F works in the coming year, Lord willing of course.
Been dealing with caretaking older parents, and death, and probate courts, and I just got an urge to pay attention to my home's curb appeal. Feels good to spruce up. I enjoyed watching this video. Thanks.

Ironically I have been dealing with a similar situation and started knocking out my "to do" list around the house that has piled up on me. Getting a new bottle of W&F is on the list.

In the Willamette Valley, sprayed on a roof during the summer when the moss was dry, dying and lots of sun. It is now February, the moss is back... kind of thick in small blobs here and there on the roof. I have 60% left from the last time it was used on the roof. It foamed when I prayed it on the roof last time, 6 months ago. That moss 99% of the moss was gone after the application. I will try again probably in April. If it does the same again I will go to another method of heling getting rid of moss.

I did a nursery tour out there. Such a beautiful part of the country. The valley, Mt Hood, the coast are all great. I could see how you would have a mold problem during the rainy season.

The black spots are Black Lichen. Wet and Forget cleans those too. Simply leave it for a couple of months or so, and that stuff starts to go. If you treat your patio and steps twice per year (Spring an Autumn) all the Algae and Lichen stays away. Don't use your pressure washer as you pit the surface of your patio etc, creating more areas where Black Lichen loves to grow.

Hey Plant Doctor.... question... neighbor just bought me a star jasmine to plant in memory of my aunt. I noticed red spots on the leaves. Quick research indicates cercospora. Says it can be managed, not cured and it spreads. Should I return the plant or can you offer advice?

    • @Dr.Warren

In general it's not a good idea to knowingly introduce a pathogen to your garden. Take it back and find a clean one else where

@@Dr.Warren thank you. That's what I was thinking, but wanted to make sure there wasn't anything that could be done that I wasn't aware of. 😉

Just keep it off the leaves. Or rinse it off really quickly.

Wet and forget is the best , takes time but works for a few years, definitely works on concrete and wood, not the cheapest ,but well worth it

I started using it on the sidewalls of my greenhouse too. It's great. I will spray the week after mother's day and will not have to spray again until the next year. It's pretty awesome.

I let the spray just sit and don't rinse. I do wash down my shrubs with hose afterwards just to clean off any drift that got on them.

    What about grass near sidewalks.

I've used it close to grass. Once I sprayed I went back over the grass with the hose to flush it out and had no problems. That was on Bermuda grass.

I'm not 100% sure. If you Google wet and forget product label it should pull up the official label and it will have the "do and don't" use list included

why not cover the box in a tarp.W&F is very good saves loads of water jet washing and also the vibration of the lance has just brought me in to order some W&F all one needs is to forget about it!

    • @Dr.Warren
      @Dr.Warren  2 месяца назад

That would definitely work but you would need to be careful and pay attention to the weather. If I am not mistaken when I shot this it was the middle of summer and I live in Alabama. A cloth tarp might be ok if it was shady. A plastic cloth would kill the plants in just a matter of minutes with the heat build up.

@@Dr.Warren I tried a test plot on about a 6 x 6 ft on my concrete driveway just to see if it works late yesterday evening,. Hope it does good like it did on my gutters and vinyl siding. The gutters are actually white again. I also did a test on some moss that is growing like crazy in my backyard near my property line to see if it kills it.

The longer you leave wet and forget the better it gets. Stubborn Black Lichen can take months to go but it will go. Dont use your pressure washer as it pits the surface creating a wonderful environment for Black Lichen to live and grow. Apply wet and forget two time per year and never use your pressure washer again.
