    Been buying at Costco for years, got the hose sprayer and refill the bottle with concentrate and do 2 light/medium coats. This is the best formula for patio pavers, roofs, driveways etc. dusk, no sun, cool to touch, soak it and let it dwell, works perfect.

    I use it on my caravan roof, kills green algae and stops dirt accumulating, especially during winter. Also kills moss growing on my driveway. On my conservatory roof it removed old lichen growth but took about 12 months!. The only thing that I won't use on again, is my wooden garden furniture, it seemed to dry the wood out and the surface fibres seperated leaving it rough. I had to sand it down and treat with boiled linseed oil to bring it back to how it used to be.

    My experience on using W&F on our 30 year old concrete tile roof that was really dirty was that it worked very well and our old tiles look brand new again, BUT it took about at least a year to see results. So be prepared to wait, but it was worth it. Also, note that the W&F bottle with the hose attachment is nice in that you don’t have to climb up on the roof, BUT just know the run-off will make your windows really dirty and it kills any plants that the run-off solution lands on. So I would recommend doing it before you get your windows cleaned and be prepared to lose any plants next to the house. Otherwise, it is an excellent product that we’ve been using for years on our brick patio and stucco walls.

My mother has a screened lanai and the white aluminum is a black mold/moss haven. It take the entire weekend to pressure wash the whole thing. Then it's back to nasty again in a month. I need to clean very tall wooden beams on the on a second story wood porch on my mountain home in Tn. So it needs to be the one you attach to a garden hose. We have a carpenter bee problem and need to paint this area. That alone is a challenge. Great that I can use on my siding, my homes looks as tall as yours. Can this product be used prior to painting.? I'm on a limited time frame as I don't live at this home. How long after using could I start painting. There's no plants or anything to kill other than carpenter bees. Do you find that you need to use a spray window cleaner after it runs down your windows?

    • @MakeItorBreakItNow
      @MakeItorBreakItNow  Год назад

      Good question, it can take a month or so for the full effect of the spray to kick in depending on the surface, the results can be faster. On most wood, I've noticed a big difference in a couple of days. It also will likely be affected by what paint or stain you use. Some paints have mildew killing capabilites, like Kilz, that are built into the mix. Here's an example, but you'll need to figure out what works best for your situation: amzn.to/43zRtZJ

      Scott, it seems to be but I haven't tested it to be sure. The hose version requires not mixing it seems to be done at the water passes through to the sprayer. The gallon version you have to mix in a sprayer like the one you see in the picture, surprisingly it doesn't take much...

      @@MakeItorBreakItNow Hose-end sprayers work via venturi effect. The water from the hose passes through the venturi, creating a vacuum that draws up the concentrate from the bottle. The amount drawn up is controlled by the orifice design and size. When made of plastic like these are, this mixing ratio will NOT be precise.... but plenty close enough for this use.

    I tried this product about 2 years ago. I used the tank application formula and used my garden sprayer to cover what I could of my tile roof. I checked month after month and saw no real difference and I chalked up the experience as just another product that didn't live up to the hype and I forgot about it.. Then after about 6 or 7 months (I'm in Southern California so we don't get much rain) I noticed the roof was looking much better. After another month or so the roof was completely clear of the green/black stains I had for years. I admit I was amazed. The part of the roof I was able to reach with the sprayer actually looks brand new. Now the only problem is there is a line across my roof where the sprayed part is completely clean and the top half is still covered with moss and mold. 😄 I bought this version with the built in sprayer and reached the top of the roof. Now the waiting game begins.
    Bottom line is if you aren't in a hurry...this product is great. And be prepared to wait 6 months or longer depending on your rainfall amounts and how stained your roof is. Eventually you'll see an amazing difference.

I just applied one bottle on my friends roof …It’s been raining here in California. The roof was wet no sun no heat so the roof is going to get great dwell time with the chemical on it. I’ll keep you posted.

      Manufacturer told me absolutely only use the hose end refill for the sprayer. I haven't done a calculation, but if 48 ounces of the regular concentrate isn't supposed to cover the same area as the hose-end sprayer (which holds 48 ounces), I'd conclude that the concentrations of the products are different. Does that mean you can't use the regular product in the hose-end sprayer? No. But you might be applying too much or, more likely, too little product.

    I'd like to confirm: Is the product and concentration the same in the sprayer AND in the non-sprayer bottles? In other words, can we just refill the sprayer bottle with the less expensive non-sprayer bottle content and have it dispense at the 5:1 ratio listed on the non-sprayer bottle?
    Bonus question: Has anybody found a generic hose-end sprayer that'll dispense at 5:1? Seems silly to spend so much for that hose-end sprayer that comes filled with the product. (yes, I know I can mix it myself in a garden sprayer as shown in this video, but I want a stream with some serious volume and reach in order to do the roof)

      Darell, the mixes look the same, no telling for sure, but my sense is why dilute one and not the other, WRT the manufactering process? My assumption is they have one vat of the liquid and fill both bottles from the same line. I like you idea of just refilling the hose sprayer from the jug bottle, I'll hae to give it a try.
