They made mention of Graydon Creed being ahead in the polls, against President Kelly…. 2 things… 1) He obviously survived his reunion with his dad Sabretooth and 2) in the comics when he ran for President, his mother (Mystique) hunted him down and killed him. Sounds like Mystique will appear in season 2 on her own personal mission or once again as a servant to Apocalypse
Love your comments about Sabretooth and Mystique. I can see both of them happening in season 2, due to Creed running for president. But I do think that radio was sneaky in how they made it sound like Graydon Creed was running against Kelly. However, Kelly has run twice (1992 and 1996) and can't run for a third term in 2000, so we'll have to wait and see who is running against Creed. So many cool story lines for season 2!
When Morph transforms into Mr. Fantastic, the suit that reed is wearing is clearly from the 90s cartoon, but something that bugs me is that King T'Chaka shows up in this episode as the Black Panther, but in the 90s show of the Fantastic Four, T'challa states that Claw murdered his dad (T'Chaka) when he was a child, but now all of a sudden he’s back. So if they actually want to make all of these shows canon to each other they would have to make this massive retcon, which would suck and be kinda annoying
Yep, King T'Chaka showing up throws a huge wrench in the idea of the Fantastic Four, Iron Man and Hulk being in the same universe as X-Men 97. ofc, Bill Clinton as president was already a pretty big issue as well, plus a few other continuity issues such as how Scarlet Witch was portrayed in the different series. I'm thinking for now that only Spider-Man and X-Men are in the same universe, tbh.
Disney+ has put X-Men 97 in the MCU Multiverse Saga. This is huge. This confirms X-Men 97 and 90s Spider-Man are in the MCU multiverse. This means 90s Spider-Man is responsible for saving the MCU multiverse from Spider-Carnage. The MCU wouldn’t exist without 90s Spider-Man
Oh wow...that's a good way of looking at it. I definitely agree that X-Men 97 is in the MCU multiverse and so that does mean Spider-Man may have saved us all!
I know there's timeline contradictions, but in my heart all of those 90's shows are the same universe and I hope they all get folded in and explained away as Cable rewriting part of the timestream. There's enough timey wimey things in the universe, and enough weird powerful beings messing with the heroes, that I think it could work.
@@AbitofEverything4U they can probably explain it as cable trying to erase the events of Genosha. Since he tried 200 times, the two timelines probably merged with each other. At least that makes sense to me so marvel can avoid explaining all of the inconsistencies. Of course nothing is official so those shows remain not canon for now
There’s so many ways to explain the plot holes. What matters is what marvels saying. And putting these characters in this show with the EXACT original designs isn’t a coincidence. Marvel seems to be indicating it’s canon, if they changed some things maybe they’d be variants but we have no reason to believe that at the moment.
I saw that tweet, but I have to wonder about whether he was answering that question or dodging it. I don't want to move into spoiler territory, but if you are intersested in a potential spoiler, then take into consideration DeMayo's tweet about "sharing leaves between the trees" and then google to see what stories come up if you search for each of the missing 3 X-Men appearing in the MCU (make sure to do it one character at a time to be sure you find the story). I promise you will find a very interesting rumor.
@@NotaroName Correct...I didn't see anything on Morph. But the storm rumor was very interesting and honestly, it seems the only way that could happen is if she was sent there via the finale of season 1.
@@AbitofEverything4U I hope she makes it. I think as I've gotten older Storm has become my favourite Xman. Previously I would have said Gambit when I just watched the show and then Shadowcat when I read the comics.
A solution for the discrepancies between Iron Man and the Fantastic Four’s appearances in X-Men ‘97 and Spider-Man could be that in Secret Wars the rest of the cast were variants. Of course, I don’t think there’s a natural way to explain that on screen, but it could work as a band-aid.
Good point...yeah, I do think there are ways to resolve the discrepancies. And if Marvel does decide to say they are all connected to the same universe, then it will fall on us superfans to find solutions like the one you suggested to make it all work!
I think calling him “the future incarnate” was a really interesting thing to chew on. On the one hand, it could be seen as a pessimistic look of “the future is humans hating mutants and wanting us dead” and bastion is the incarnation of that hatred of mutants You could also look at it literally and see him as a terminator Like figure so calling him the “future incarnate” is literal in that way Finally I see it as a way to describe the perceived inevitability of him as a threat. Cable tried hundreds of times to stop him and he moved into the future anyways. Nothing could stop him. Inevitable. “Future incarnate”
I think we can imagine that this series is now the "prime" timeline as its own contained universe, not necessarily connected to those old shows but moreso those shows where a character resembles their design but doesnt maych continuity are alternate branches on the timeline.
The most cool thing that i thought about this series, is how big the universe in fact is,and how the events that happen, impact the whole universe, that was so cool, i would love to have a iron man show in this way !! Great video as always
Well said...it was so cool to see that things really impacted everyone on earth, rather than just the X-Men. And yeah, I'd be down for an Iron Man show for sure!
This was an amazing season finale, despite some contridictions with this timeline, and I hope Avengers vs xmen is adapted for next season so all the cameos this season will be justified.
The scene when Bastion rips off Cable's bionic arm and then beats him with it really added insult to injury. Regarding Black Panther, he previously made a cameo in "Sanctuary - Part I."
Yeah, that was such a brutal insult to Cable. Poor guy. And it was great to see Black Panther appear again. In that original cameo from Sanctuary, we don't see if it's T'Chaka or T'Challa, but I love that the character suit design is the same. So cool!
Maybe we're all overthinking the "future incarnate" lines and it's not about Bastion's thematic purpose but just the fact that he's replaced his body with future technology: Cable's techno-organic arm.The virus came from their time but it couldn't be controlled then, so he was sent to the future where they had means to keep the techno-organic virus from consuming Cable's body. Bastion's mind is from the future, too, and him using that part of Cable to remake himself thus makes him the future incarnate, as in, in the flesh.
I believe that all those retcons were caused by Cable's 200 time travel, slightly altering the timeline's history (Like how T'Chaka is still alive). As for the whole ''Horseman Gambit'', if I remember well when he became Death, the other horsemen were Gazer as War, Sunfire as Famine and Polaris as Pestilence. Although, they'll likely change one or two members of that roster for the show.
Interesting theory for the retcons like T'Chaka. I wonder if that will be their explanation. And I like your theories for the other horsemen. Nice call!
Considering that the Russian superhero team winter Guard and the Canadian team alpha flight made cameos in this episode, next season could involve a world war fought by each nation’s own super team. Silver samurai was originally a member of big hero six along with sunfire, so that would be the Japanese team. Maybe quicksilver and Wanda are off world on an avengers mission. This show makes me excited for the future X-men movies.
Great theory...yeah, we did indeed see several teams from across the globe. They are really cookin' up something good for Season 2 and beyond. And yeah, this series has given me alot of confidence that the future X-Men movies will be in good hands with Marvel!
I think that "future incarnate" line could be interpreted in a few ways, but I interpret it as Bastion being the catalyst that drives humanity into the future that Cable has tried so many times to prevent. He is the harbinger of the mutants' extinction, an inevitability. Their future, personified.
Yeah, that's a good interpretation. And with Bastion getting sucked into that black hole, it may not be the last time we see him...making the line have even more meaning down the road!
Finally, after 26 years, we finally get the resolution and save of Mary Jane. I still want a sequel series (we'll see what happens after Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man...), but at least we finally got to see Peter and MJ reunite. I knew nothing of White Phoenix until now, so that's cool to learn about her, but yeah, hopefully that's the end of it, because she does seem like she'd make things too easy. Otherwise, what an amazing episode, and an amazing show.
Hey, great vid as usual! I think the “future incarnate” description is more a reference to how advanced Bastion’s technology had become, particularly for the time period of the 90s, they said as such when they went to see Trask in episode 7. I believe the line was repeated by Nightcrawler on Asteroid M to set up the following dialogue about not fighting the future, but embracing it.
I like that theory. Yeah, the line was abit confusing, but I think your explanation makes it work really well. Thanks for the feedback on the vid. Really appreciate it!
This series was honestly great. I never watched the original series, but now I kinda want to (and maybe the Spider-Man series as well) Can't wait for Season 2. This series honestly made me more of an X-Men fan then I once was.
Cloak and Dagger could easily reoccur in the X-Men series. In the 90's (and for a large part of their publication history), they were believed to be mutants. The comics nowadays flip-flop between mutants and mutates (like they are in the MCU), but more often than not, they've been mutants. And while X-Men '97 has been playing with continuity post-1997 (such as the Dora Milaje having their post-2018 redesigns, or even existing in that world at all, since they're a 1998 creation), a lot of the character designs and relationships are from the 90's due to being a continuation of that 90's series. So while they're mutates in the current comics canon, like Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, they could be depicted as their 90's incarnations here.
Good points...okay, those are some good reasons to see C&D come back in X-Men 97. I love the characters, so I'm down with however Marvel decides to use them. Hopefully we see them next season!
Such a great episode...so much to think about between now and the season 2 drop. Short of Loki Season 1, we haven't had this massive of a cliffhanger in quite awhile!
Before I say this, I want to emphasize that I’ve always stood by only the X-Men and Spider-Man series being connected. But with the armor / suits of Iron Man and FF matching their animated counterparts, I do want to explore all the possibilities. While Bill Clinton’s term in real life was obviously 1993-2001, I’m wondering if there’s some way to make them fit. E-Day was clearly a disaster and I’m wondering if this could have resulted in Kelly’s removal from office. This strange timing of an election could be a result of that (although why Kelly’s VP wouldnt just take his place is strange). Especially if Graydon is rising in the polls, anti-mutant sentiment is continuing to rise. Kelly’s benevolence towards mutants would likely be a factor in his removal. Now ignoring the absurdity of it, its POSSIBLE that Bill Clinton could beat Creed in the polls and be elected. Hence why the FF and Iron Man were wearing their animated series outfits. Their series could just take place after X-Men ‘97. According to my notes, I dont think either series ever places it in a specific year which makes this more flexible. I actually think I just completely talked myself out of this possibility but I thought we should explore the options. I just cant see them showing Bill Clinton win an election against Graydon Creed in 2024. The dichotomy of the fiction and reality interacting is just really strange. Not to mention that Clinton’s presidency didn’t exactly leave the public eye on a good note Edit: Forgot to mention T’Chaka being alive would support this. If he dies in FF and is succeeded by T’Challa (all after X-Men ‘97), then that explains why T’Chaka’s still active as of this show. Scarlet Witch being different is also supported if thats just how she looks later on in the timeline. As opposed to her sometimes looking one way and sometimes different which is a weird wrench in trying to connect them
Great feedback...yeah, about the only way I can get things to work is if the Fantastic Four, Iron Man and Hulk series all take place sometime after season 1 of X-Men 97. Granted, that sorta makes them disconnected in that they aren't happening simultaneously as we would have initially assumed, but perhaps that idea could work. I'm really hoping Marvel gives us an official answer one day. That would be awesome. But in the meantime, we can theorize away! Thanks so much for watching the vid and sharing your thoughts. Really appreciate it!
"I've never thought of metal bending to Magneto's will." It's such a Magneto line, though, that l'd be shocked if he's never said it before. Talking about bending stuff to their will is a classic comic book villain thing to do.
None noticed that Bastion backup plan to make Asteroid M crash on Earth to create an exctinction level event is identical to Ultron's plan in Avengers: Age of Ultron? I have to say, Bastion was probably 10 times much better than Ultron as a villain ha ha ha
Polaris is redacted because of Xforce, likely government clearance. Kurt could have meant the "future is unstoppable, and so is Bastion," Bastion was holding up the sentinel and still fighting. But otherwise, I didn't like that line, and it made my head feel bad.
Good point about why Polaris may have been redacted. That makes alot of sense. And yeah, Kurt's line was just so strange. Someone else theorized that due to Bastion absorbing Cables arm, it means he absorbed his time travel tech and maybe that has something to do with it. But yeah, it was just a very strange line indeed.
I absolutely loved this finale, everything was just perfect especially the scenes with Charles and Magnus. The cameos were crazy and Apocalypse getting set up and bringing back Gambit got me so hyped for season 2 and Morph confession to Logan was nice and I'm interested to see where that goes in the future.
@@AbitofEverything4U Yeah, two things i would like to in either in the main mcu and/or an alternative universe or somewhere in the void is Jack as Swordsmen and Avengers Mansion. Also i just seen the Hawkeye deleted scenes and i really wish lots of them were in the show.
@@AbitofEverything4U Yeah he does, I've had my own head cannon that somewhere in the void there's an avengers mansion where heroes from different realities stay at and just try to live without much conflict unless they have to while looking for others that might want to stay with them.
I love this show seeing x-men being able to save the day and set up apocalypse and of course maybe setting up onslaught for season 2 which could be really awesome and badass In my opinion.
@@AbitofEverything4U indeed same here as well and I am so happy this show is a success and seeing marvel finally get back to animation after so many years of nothing makes me so happy.
I believe the importance of the "future incarnate" line, those words specifically refer to Bastion absorbing Cable's future tech. I guess it was their way of highlighting this to the audience and explaining how Bastion transformed. Perhaps it's also a nod to the comics as Bastion appears to be in the form from "Second Coming" which was released in 2010, the future from '97. It may also explain his involvement in the upcoming time travel, Bastion absorbed Cable's tech including the time bracelet which may explain why the x-men were thrown through time rather than reality.
Great theories! Okay, that makes alot of sense. If Bastion absorbed Cable's ability to time travel, then it does give new meaning to that line. Thanks for sharing your take on that. I really like that theory!
So I had forgotten that area was from the moon, kept thinking it was outside Asteroid M for some reason. Really loved this scene between Magneto and Charles, especially the latter scenes when it really felt like we were getting Onslaught. Yeah how did he get it off ... you can assume he removed it while Magneto was distracted but it would be nice to have seen it. And you're right Cyclops owes Wolverine big time especially after he tells him to ... what was it? Not die on Jean? Ah yes ... the cameos. Wait ... is Iron Man's armour the same as the Iron Man show? I thought it was the same as the one from Spider-Man ... really interesting. I know you mentioned a Spider-Man revival but I'm more inclined for them to create NEW shows in this universe, so much potential. One thing I can give to the shows that aren't X-Men or Spider-Man is that perhaps they exist in branched timelines? I say this since the Silver Surfer show is very clearly based on the Fantastic Four show but there's no Fantastic Four in Silver Surfer's origin in that show. How did I miss Morph turning into Sauron?! When it comes to the outfits and armours being different you can go down the path of they change it up sometimes. We've seen that happen in the X-Men show after all. And yes, PLEASE Marvel show us how Spider-Man gets Mary Jane back! And yes Phoenix! Wait ... White Phoenix? What's that? But yes I hope that's the last of Phoenix for the foreseeable future. Ah yes ... Rogue vs Bastion was so good! And as I always say this show's sound design is amazing. Gonna be honest the Sentinel thing ... made me think of something that happened recently in the MMRPG. Haha. If you know, you know. Kurt's line I think is about how Bastion very clearly cannot be stopped because he's overwhelming Beast and the Sentinel. And yeah the Magneto file was very cool indeed. Wait ... A BLACK HOLE?! WHAT?! Also yes, please give me Avengers vs X-Men! Now the Morph/Wolverine part is a little messier. You can take that scene as two different meanings A) Morph loves Wolverine or B) Morph is comforting Wolverine by telling him what he wants to hear from Jean. On the flip side, the black hole kind of explains what happens what happens to the asteroid and the team. So with that time jump we're now in 1998 ... crazy. Also we all assumed Graydon was kind of a dead man the last time we saw him so him even being in the running for president is insane! Very cool to see Colossus, Dust, Magik, Iceman, Havok, Exodus, Shadowcat and Emma Frost. It is interesting that Archangel is presumed dead? And I wonder what Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver being offworld is about ... hmm. And I find it interesting that in all three time periods we're going to be dealing with Apocalypse and it's probably gonna be a timey wimey season next season to boot. Also, so that's the infamous Rachel? And yes Rogue and Gambit reunion will be insane! If that ends up being the S2 present day team ... oh my word. Gimme gimme gimme. I want Emma and Magik on the team. I did make the joke about Wolverine and Storm landing in that alternate timeline where Charles was killed that involved Nimrod, but I doubt that'll happen since those variants didn't know who Charles was.
Love reading your comments. Seeing the line of thought as you watch the vid is so much fun. Thanks for taking the time to share all your reactions. Makes my day each time!
how many more angles can we add to the x men love polygon 😭 if we're still counting madelyn then now with the addition of morph its the scott-jean-madelyn-logan-morph love pentagon, and if we're counting the madelyn stuff resolved then its the scott-jean-logan-morph love square.
okay, embrace yourself for a really lengthy comment because my goodness was there so much stuff to love and talk about in this. But firstly I wanna point out 2 things that I only noticed on my third rewatch of the Genosha episode, the Watcher's appearance at the start of the episode probably had something to do with it being a fixed point in time, idk if it was just an easter egg or if there's more to it, but i think that's probably the reason why we got to see the Watcher there. Also, since I know we all love small details on this channel, another detail I only paid attention to now is that Genosha is maybe in the same geographical area as it is in the comics, since it's daytime at the X mansion whilst it is nighttime in Genosha when Jean and Madelyne both get the psychic vision/beam shot into their heads (which is fairly accurate since the area where Genosha is in the comics would be around 7 hours ahead of NYC where X mansion is located). anyways, onto stuff about this episode and video: 4:29 not only all that but, like what we saw with jubilee and sunspot, most humans would've launched an all out war on the mutants even on the dying earth while magneto would be chilling on asteroid M with his gf and a posh thirdwheel 8:12 just like last time, that is still only just a mnemonic scrambler and not a neutraliser, but it would've been nice if storm hadn't stopped them from making it a neutraliser lol. though i do wonder if the phoenix just attached it to him permanently somehow? at first i thought he must've repurposed it and transformed it into being a part of his body like he did with cable's arm, but the sentinels didn't seem to come back online so maybe it's just irremovable somehow and is still present under the new "skin" on his face. 9:39 i think the irreconcilable differences between some of the shows can be easily explained either as some of the shows taking place in one universe whilst the others take place on a different very closely neighboring universe that has a lot in common (think moreso dr stranges from different universes in MoM, as opposed to different spideys in NWH), or alternatively all shows taking place in the same universe but just on different branches of that universe, so for example X-Men TAS and Spiderman would be on one branch whilst Ironman and Fantastic Four.etc would be on another branch. As for Iron-man's armour suit's design, i think they just went with the recognisable one rather than something that only appeared in a crossover, and it's also easy to explain away since the guy's known to have more armour suits than actual suits. Plus he's protecting *President **_Kelly_* as opposed to President Bill 12:06 okay dang this is getting a bit more hard to explain away, but i still hope this is just the 97 creators choosing the more recognizable designs as opposed to connecting those universes to 97, the latter would be soooo messy. Also, I liked the Spiderman design way better :( 12:38 iirc they'd only be variants if they're both taking place in different branches of the same universe, but if they're in separate universes then they wouldn't count as variants 15:09 100% agreed, in fact that was my last favourite part of the episode. Cable failed at this 200 times, Bastion says something like "Jean Grey and Madelyne Pryor, never Phoenix, always dead" but somehow it was different this time. My biggest gripe is that it just happened without any explanation whatsoever, they need to realize that meta hints don't equate to in-universe build-up or explanation. 17:22 okay nevermind, ignore my first point, i totally did not write out and subsequently delete a third reminder just now before finally getting to the Storm bit HAHA 18:15 I think there are several reasons: 1. Because he's the son of Nimrod, who's from the future. 2. Because he sort of symbolises the next step in evolution, he is to Mutants what Mutants have been to Humans, therefore he is the "future". 3. The future that Cable is from has Bastion at the top of the food chain, and from present-day X-Men's perspective, that future has yet to be changed, so maybe that's also why he's called that. Apart from that, I think they're saying it because they're just amazed by his sheer strength and his strong resolve, similarly I think Nightcrawler was also just saying it in awe at his Power/Strength/Durability, since all of those things are what make him like the next evolutionary step after Mutants (since Cyclops then goes onto embrace the "Stop fighting the future"/"Embrace the future" motto they've been saying to humanity in reference to Mutants being the next evolutionary step i.e "the future"). 21:03 correct me if i'm wrong because my memory is very hazy, but wasn't there some mention of some protocols being set up back in the original series in the episodes specifically relating to asteroid M? again, my memory about those episodes is hazy at best so maybe i'm just misremembering stuff, but i think there was something of the sort. 21:43 probably because Polaris hasn't been revealed as being one of Magneto's children, from what I remember we've only known about Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch being his children in the original series. 24:00 I really think that being that close to the blast must've resulted in him being launched out of the asteroid M, and therefore helping him avoid getting tossed around in time with the rest of the cast. I think what they could be setting up is that Bastion is still around (maybe in a bad state but around nonetheless) in the present whilst our heroes are all lost in time, so he could get up to some evil stuff without anyone being there to stop him (since Forge and Bishop also won't be sticking around).
Awesome feedback...yeah, there was so much going on in that episode. I think your feedback is spot on. Regarding the protocols, I can't find any direct reference to what the protocols were meant to be in the Sanctuary episodes, but it definitely seems they were meant to take down the asteroid if needed. And my gut feeling is Bastion was sucked into the blackhole, since we don't see him outside the asteroid when the other X-Men are trying to stop it from hitting earth. But it's hard to tell, tbh. Anyway, loved this season and can't wait for season 2 to drop. Thanks again for your amazing commentary. Loved reading it all!
If a Spider-Man ‘98 was to be announced they would probably announce it at D23 or comic con cause I’m pretty sure X-Men ‘97 was announced at D23 as well
This is the first time we finally see Cloak and Dagger in the animated series. Let's hope we'll see Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Elektra, Deadpool, Fantastic Four, X-23 and Moon Knight in Season 2 or 3.
100% agree...fantastic writing. I have complete faith in whatever direction they choose to take the series in season 2. Such a fantastic season of X-Men...loved it!
Somehow this series never disappointed! If anything my only downside to this season was it was too short, every plotline felt like it was done very quickly (though, to be fair, they needed this season to be great to ensure a future for the show). This show is just so visually appealing, almost reminds me of spiderverse in how so many frames just feel like a work of art/ eye candy
I agree, my only complaint would be how quickly the pace moved at times. But ig it's better for us to wish it had moved slower than to wish it had not dragged, as some series often do. And that's a great point about how it is at times as visually stunning as the spiderverse films. Some of the images are truly breath-taking.
Hey man I love your videos but I think you were looking at the magneto vs Charles argument too black and white in this video and last weeks. I don’t think the show was trying to tell us Charles is dumb for having the ideals he does I think it was just the characters who have recently been hurt the most by humans that were disagreeing with the professor. Love the content you put out keep up the great work
Great feedback...yeah, ig for me, I just think what was so strange in the previous episode is it seemed people were legit blaming Xavier for Bastion's attack. I think if the episode was longer they would have blamed him for covid...lol. It seemed episode 9 never gave Xavier's side of the argument any airtime. But I was happy Xavier got a chance to show the other side of the argument and in fact he got a chance to literally save the day via his optimism that the team on earth could find a way to solve the issue if Magneto's damage was undone. But I may have looked at it too black and white. That's fair criticism. I just think that the real solution is always in the middle somewhere. Extremism on either side of the argument never seems to solve the real problems of the day. Really appreciate your feedback. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts on the vid!
@@AbitofEverything4U I full agree the extremism is never the answer and that’s why I love media like this that delves into the intricacies of situations like the one we just seen. And in regard to Charles I love him and his idealism in this show it’s very much needed with the tone the show has.
@@mosthatedty9585Well said...One of the great things about this season is it made us have to think about so many relevant issues that can be applied to real life situations going on today. The writing was so good!
Thanks so much for the positive feedback on the vid...really enjoyed discussing the episodes from this season...such an incredible series. Can't wait for season 2!
Hey, just checking to see if you watched the What If video (especially the first few minutes)...it has some good news in it that you might want to see. 😊 Here's the link: ruclips.net/video/226PJan9h_M/видео.html
I am really interested in Apocalypse. He should be clinging to life in the present day, because he overtook the body of Fabien Cortez in one of the final episodes of the original series.
Good point...yeah, it will be interesting to see how they tie things into the original series with Apocalypse. I love how well they have kept the continuity from the original series!
You mentioned Rachel in the future; remember when she went to the future (in the comics) she was Phoenix. So perhaps that's where the Phoenix came from in this episode, especially since it seemed like it was there to save Nathan specifically.
I think the reason it's T'Chaka instead of T'Challa is because T'Challa is blacklisted from appearing in any form of media due to the death of Chadwick Boseman. Marvel thinks it would be disrespectful to Chadwick's legacy to use that character ever again. They were gonna get rid of him in the comics too before there was a backlash. Chadwick Boseman's death was tragic but I don't think he should have a monopoly on portraying a character that has existed since 1966.
I wondered if the reason T'Challa didn't appear was Marvel's fear of it being disrespectful. ofc, we did see T'Challa appearing in What If, but he was voiced by Chadwick, so that made it in okay Marvel's eyes, ig. But I agree, at this point, there's no reason not to have Black Panther appear. We are well past the point where it would be considered disrespectful to Chadwick, imo.
I bet Morph and Wolverine aren't in a different timeline, they just spent the whole six month jump in a closet while Storm stood guard like a true ally.
One does have to wonder what's in store for those two...it was certainly interesting that Wolverine and Morph are both missing. ofc, they were in close proximity to each other when the blackhole formed, so ig it makes sense for them to be together, wherever they landed.
24:50 yeeeeah, I'm immediately thought the same. Our Steve and Tony would've never done that. 97' Steve and Tony deserve to be taught a lesson by our lovely X-men
In response to Nightcrawler saying Bastion is the future incarnate. It may be in regards to just how strong he is. The X-Men keep beating up Bastion, but he keeps enduring everything they're throwing at him. Well, if we think metaphorically, you cannot ever truly stop the future from coming. You can change what may happen to create a new future, but no matter hard hard you may push for things to stay the same, the future always arrives. It's still a bit of a weird thing to say, but that's what I've got. And man oh man, these cameos are absolutely bonkers. I've said it a few times I think those other 90s shows are going to be canon for the most part. A variant universe that is near identical to what happened in the X-Men and Spider-Man universe. I begin my big 90s Marvel watch in another week!
Good suggestion for that future incarnate line. Such a strange line, but you may be onto something. And enjoy your 90's watch. I think you'll really enjoy it!
The phrase the future incarnate connects to why Storm does not want to completely eradicate his powers. Bastion has something to do with the techno organic virus and probably can even cure it. Bastion is literally technology incarnate (tech plus human) and is probably the only one who can cure or at least adapt something that is also both techno and organic. I also think they want to continue the theme of Bastion being both mutant and human. Something that would most likely be very possible in a future world (but is not even conceivable at this point in time - like an interracial marriage). Bastion could even be the original origin of the techno organic virus , since he had Cable’s arm (which was part of the virus) bonded to him. This would therefore create a bootstrap paradox making him literally the future incarnate.
Great points...yeah, having Cable's arm, and thus the virus, bonded onto him was likely a big part of why things went down like they did. I like your reasoning for the "future incarnate" line. Excellent feedback. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on it...really appreciate it!
I notice in the Times Square scene, theres the coca cola ad present in the center of the scene I think this is a nod towards SpiderVerse, where in Miles universe, the ad is for his alternate universe version, but in Peter's universe (616), theres a coca cola ad. I think this is an intentional statement that in x-men 97, this is the 616 universe.
Interesting...so are you theorizing that the X-Men 97 show is set in the MCU? My guess is that it's in a different universe, based on Beau's tweet, but I also agree that at this point anything's possible. So your theory could end up being right. We'll have to see where things go from here, it seems. Thanks so much for watching the vid and sharing your thoughts. Really appreciate it!
there’s one more thing to add I noticed: I wouldn’t be surprised if when season 2 ends and apocalypse is more or less dealt with. I believe three 3 full stop will be AvX. How awesome would that be?
What a fantastic season. Was so much fun to try to theorize how things would end up. Great job with most your speculations turning out to be true. On to season 2!
@@AbitofEverything4U hooorayy.....white phoenix will be back , Wolverine, storm, morph, Gambit as horsemen for apocalypse... excitedddd 🤩🤩and apocalypse can time travel via astral plane so he could be big bad along with Rama Tut and bastion..so,here cyclops and jean could avert master mold turning into nimrod and Xavier and magnus could change the fate of apocalypse and prevent bastion from ever being born... So already a branched timeline has been created ..and this would erase the previous timeline and start a new one but this would affect the fates of non Mutants..and that's how the past earth/timeline would be mutant free timeline and the new timeline would be a haven for all Mutants!! ...one Stem 2 leaves...
I would love a morph/Logan arc for the soap opera side of things... Logan is generally portrayed as straight, and morph seems to think about him the way he thinks about gene. With morph being both nb/genderfluild *and* logan's closest friend, there's real potential to unpack and develop both characters whether or not they actually have a relationship. I also love the nearly universal sentiment of "okay, Phoenix. But maybe no more Phoenix now". I had that exact thought when Jean said goodbye to Scott in ep 9. Like Yeah yeah you set it up and it it was relevant and all, but phoenix is just a tired trope at this point. Can't have been a huge payoff for first-time watchers either. Lastly, I am excited to see the past/present/future apocalypse grapple with his timelessness as the xmen in each era change his narrative. Like, how is a being beyond time affected when the version of them that was timebound is being altered in unforeseeable ways. Maybe he'll become the hero who stops onslaught.
Fantastic commentary on the episode. I agree with all of your points. Can't wait to see how season 2 pays off all of the excellent set-up we've been given!
What an amazing finale to a fantastic series. I have my one thought and speculation so let’s discuss 2:09 This may also foreshadow that she may be part of the team next season. We’ll get into that later. During that scene at the start with magneto before we learn it’s all in his mind a song from the 60s play is that all biblical and calls for peace. Fitting because that is more or less Charles’s whole philosophy. 6:05 I wonder if onslaught will play in next season’s especially with there we end up. 9:00 He is the danger. 9:22 I’m not gonna question it but how is cap there didn’t he disappeared last we saw him? 10:02 Matt my boy! He got beat but cloak and dagger helped out. I hope we see them in the mcu with their original live action actors. 11:00 It should also be noted according to Beau this wasn’t up to him. I assume probably when this was written Chadwick’s was probably still fresh and they didn’t want to step on that. 11:33 Fun fact: This is the first appearance ever of crimson dynamo in this universe. 11:50 I REALLY hope Psylocke is a member next season. She and the alpha flight crew appeared to be in Genosha. I have thoughts I want to share about that. 12:52 I really wanted an animated special(not a series because we already have an upcoming spider-man show) to show how this happened. I think mister sinister is done for now. He’ll probably be plotting his revenge while the team deals with apocalypse 16:50 If the phoenix is true gone in Jean it perfectly sets up hope summers obtaining it and setting off AvX. 21:44 I believe when the show was airing Polaris connection to magneto was still vague so I can see the show making this a reveal especially when we later see her in the boat. 22:07 reminds me of the Death Star Wars core from return of the Jedi 30:49 Oh boy the board. I’ll probably make that its own comment. 33:26 That be crazy. 34:24 can’t wait to see this plot line play out. 35:40 oh the heart break. I also point he is at Genosha. I have a massive prediction for the present day storyline that I haven’t seen anyone discuss(everyone is focused on the past and future but forget the present). 37:40 I doubt it sadly because Deadpool and Wolverine under went writing strikes and I don’t think they and to be beholden to animated series that whole good many movie goers will be confused. Overall I have some more thoughts I’ll make in a separate comment.
Wow...fantastic feedback...loved reading it all. Yeah, I really want to know how Cap got out of the mess he was in when we last saw him. I agree, even if we don't get a full spider-man revival series, I'd love a few specials that bring us up to date with what happened in his series. Please Marvel...pretty please!
Is there any chance the 97 universe isn't the same as the original animated series universe? Might be a pretty dumb question. Maybe I'm giving the writers too much credit for potential oversights, but what if a lot of inconsistencies with the other animated series' could be due to this being a launch for a "new animated series universe"?
Yeah, that's certainly a possible solution. But I think they really want this to be a continuation of the original series, considering how many scenes they recreate from those original episodes. Maybe at some point they'll let us know more about which shows are considered canon. Would be great if so. Anyway, thanks so much for watching the vid and sharing your feedback. Truly appreciate it!
So about that board and the Preston day storyline. I believe not everyone listened there will be on the main team but I can see the first episode is forge and bishop recruiting mutants to form a new x-men team. It be cool if perhaps next season it’ll like the dc show Justice league unlimited where various mutants “Join” the x-men in rotation/teams. A big flaw this season showed was they were spread too thinned. However if that is too ambitious then I can see a tight group consisting of Emma frost. The most powerful telepath at hand is almost a sure fire member. Colossus. They need a strong dude and he perfectly fits. Magik. We know some version of her exists and if we have Colossus it makes sense to bring her. Their sibling adds interesting layers. Psylocke. A skilled hand to hand fighter and another telepathic user but to not the same extent as Emma, Jean, Charles ect. Iceman. Another solid member and even on twitter his film actor Shawn ashmore is open to come back. Deadpool. This is mostly a joke suggestion but it be funny. Other members that weren’t featured in x-men but I would love. Rockslide, Sunfire, Sage, and mirage/dani moonstar. As for Apocalypse I believe he is specifically trying to find Madelyne Pryor and in general try to resurrect those that died in the Genosha massacre. And may even radicalize mutants to his cause. For the four horseman my predictions are Gambit for death. He is the literal embodiment of those that tragically died. Madelyne Pryor for war. As in she in some twisted way would revenge. Leech for Pestilence. Now hear me out: How twisted would it be for Apocalypse to use him. Also fits with his mutant powers. Sebastian Shaw for famine. This is a stretch but you could say that with his powers he can be gluttonous with power. As for cable, jubilee and sunspot I believe since they are grouped together as AWOL I think this implies they are together.
9:42 I think iron man just got upgraded suit similar to iron man animated series, hopefully they cast original voice of iron man and war machine 20:34 for nightclawer case I think just expression, that he shocked bastion still managed to stand on his feet
Definitely an awesome show and an amazing season all the way through, every episode was great and I can't wait to see what season 2 gives us. I think the "he is the future incarnate" thing is just them saying "he is the future made flesh", like I don't think it was necessarily meant to be anything, I think it was more just them acknowledging what Bastion is, like "he's what we have to look forward to in the future" type of thing. I agree, I don't think the Iron Man and Mr. Fantastic appearances were meant to imply those versions of the characters are canon to this Universe. Iron Man changes the look of his armor all the time, so the two versions could have just made similar looking armors and be too different versions, the Fantastic Four also change their outfits from time to time too, because it's Morph becoming them, it's probably just what their current suits look like, since as we saw previously Morph did transform into an older Magik even though the last time we saw her prior to that transformation she was still like 10 or so. There was an interesting theory I heard this morning, Rob over at Comics Explained here on youtube suggested that maybe Storm, Wolverine, and Morph could be the other horsemen of Apocalypse alongside Gambit as Death, so that may be where they are. There is also still that theory that the Wolverine in Deadpool & Wolverine is this same Wolverine, I don't think that's necessarily the most likely option, but to go along with your theory of them being shot into the Multiverse it could be at least where Wolverine ended up. As far as Wanda and Pietro being off world, the only thing coming to mind that would make sense with that is that Pietro and Crystal of the Inhumans have their daughter in this Universe, like they do in the comics, and they are up visiting the Inhumans or whatever. I also agree that I wouldn't be surprised if the other characters on Forge's list marked as active would probably be the new present day team, at the very least with Forge seemingly being the leader it'll at least be Iceman and Havok since they are on his X-Factor team as we saw in the original 5 seasons. Kitty Pryde is also on that list in her Shadowcat moniker, so perhaps watching the failed "Pryde of the X-Men" pilot or whatever it was would be something to do if she's going to show up in season 2. I also also agree that Onslaught is probably on his way as well as maybe Avengers vs X-Men, probably not right away obviously, but Season 2 or 3 seems about right. I just hope we get X-23 and Kamala in the series at some point (hopefully with Dafne and Iman back to voice them), cause it would be a shame to have a modern X-Men project (even if it's a continuation of an older one) and not have 2 of the most popular Mutant characters of the past decade or more have a significant role in the project. With the massive success of X-Men '97 I absolutely think we'll get confirmation of a Spider-Man: the Animated Series revival (perhaps introducing Miles into that world, since he didn't even exist as a character until 2011) and maybe even revivals of some of the other older shows as well, though I think with it being the middle of May now that they might just save those announcements for Comic Con in July since they'll have a lot to talk about at Comic Con this year, not just in animation but with Phase 6 and everything as well.
Fantastic commentary. I agree with all your theories...although I would personally prefer if Apocalypse creates the horsemen from some of the dead mutants on genosha, such as Madelyn, Sebastian Shaw, Leech (pestilence!) to go along with Gambit. That would be wild stuff! Anyway, loved reading your feedback. Thanks for taking the time to share all that!
@@AbitofEverything4U yeah, I've heard some suggest that some of the dead Mutants on Genosha could become horsemen as well, that would also be fun to see.
I don’t think Creed is running for president considering the next election wouldn’t be for another 2.5 years, but maybe he’s running for governor of New York, or for a seat in the Senate?
Oh, good theory! Yeah, I think it was sneaky that they mentioned Creed and the President back to back, but you're right, we can't imply anything from that. Nice call!
What a season... What a season... 👏👏 Great work Marvel. Can't wait to see season 2 and that spider man show coming from marvel animation. Great stuff in the future. (Please please please tell me Morph, Storm, and Wolverine ended up somewhere in Japan! Samurai Wolverine is the best wolverine! Maybe even have it be in the future so he can meet Daken or another one of his kids...)
Episode obsession : Ah , Beast how many people Dreamed of my End . You are no closer than the babylonians with their swords and fire sticks . This ties up that loose end . I am the rocks of eternal shores . Crash against me and be broken : Bastion and Sinister both tried to be immortal like Appokalypse and they both got crushed In order to kill an immortal , you have to kill him 3 times in 3 time periods. They are copy pasting Legends of Tomorrow to kill Vandal Savage and that s what we are getting for X Men 97
Beau DeMayos tweet had me thinking, since we see no wolverine at the end of the episode, and DeMayos tweet makes it seem like he could be anywhere in the multiverse, could we potentially be seeing him next as a cameo in deadpool in wolverine? Probably not, but I can always imagine.
That's certainly the safest bet for sure for Storm, Morph & Wolverine. But if you are okay with learning about rumors (I avoid them in my vids, as many people don't like learning about them), then google each character appearing in the MCU (I suggest doing it one character at a time) and you may find something interesting. What a wild twist it would be!
I am so happy to see Peter Parker and Mary Jane are reunited and hopefully they are married in this universe which could open the door for my girl mayday Parker spider girl in the future which would make me so happy in my opinion.
@@AbitofEverything4U same here I would love to see mayday Parker spidergirl too mostly because she’s my favorite character in all of marvel comics in my opinion.
I don’t think that was Walter White sitting next to President Kelly, I think it was actually Obadiah Stane. Looks just like Jeff Bridges from the first Iron Man 1 movie…
Good point...yeah, due to having so many different suits, I agree that Iron Man's armor can't be used as a clear indicator of which shows are canon or not...but I did find it interesting they chose to go with the armor from his first season, as though to imply that his show is canon to the X-Men 97 universe. I really hope we get some indication of what shows Marvel feels are canon to each other at some point. That would be so helpful!
Theory Remember how cable wasnt even really hype to see cyclops But he was soo clingy to madelynn and trying to save her becaause thats his real mom Well think this nathan in the past is cable and he met cyclops when he was a boy But now cable is mad at cyclops from leaving him AGAIN when hes 10 iN 3090AD I think jean is a big reason why cyclops leaves again and cable salty at jean and cyclops 4L But why didnt they take cable w them?
The Finale was so Explosively Epic, As We Know from the Sacred Timeline in Loki the More you Travel back and Forth Through Time the More Branch Realties Get Created So Cable Tried 200 Times he went back 200 Times to Try to Save his Mother That's 200 Branch Realities he Created, 200 Branch Realities with 200 Versions of the X Men and Christopher Daniel Barns Spider Man and Jenifer Hale Black Cat Morbius and The Rest, I Love this, Can you Make a Vid about this? Thanks Branch Realities Expanding the Multiverse is so Interesting and Exciting.
That's a great point...yeah, all these branched realities are likely making a real mess for the overall X-Men universe...lots of crazy branches looking more like spaghetti than a tree. I wonder if this will come up at all during DP&W, considering the TVA is monitoring the fox universe.
God damn it, man… I just had to let my curiosity get the better of me. I usually don’t watch these recap videos because you comic-knowledgeable folk always have to theorize what’s going to happen next based off of the storylines from the comic books. Which ruins shit for me because I have no CLUE what happens. Great video regardless 🤷♂️. I appreciate the timeline connections as always… Just wish I didn’t know Gambit was a horseman in one of the books. Had to cut the video off there. I know it’s not confirmation, but… come on… How could it not be? When I saw Apocalypse pick up the card, I thought he was just sad at the death that took place at Genosha.
Oh shoot, I apologize if that theory about Gambit was something you didn't want to hear. I never considered that something like that could be sort of a spoiler in that regard, but I see how it could be a bit of a spoiler. I mean, it may not happen, ofc, but I agree with you that it sure seems likely. Maybe I need to structure the videos so that the theorizing for the future is in a different section and people can bow out prior to that if desired. Would that work better? Really appreciate your feedback. And sorry again, if that theory ruined a potential surprise for you.
Honestly the armour thing with iron man in my opinion means nothing the man has tons of suits it’s what he is known for it doesn’t seem out of the question for him to change it up once and a while for the task at hand maybe that’s what happened in the spider man show
Well said...yeah, Iron Man's armor being the same as his show is interesting, but not enough to know for certain if they are making the other shows canon. But I do think using the same Hulk design in an earlier episode and same FF costumes in this episode was a subtle hint that the shows are connected. That said, I still think only Spider-Man and X-Men are in the same universe. Maybe we'll get a final answer from Marvel at some point. That would be great, if so. Thanks so much for watching the vid and sharing your thoughts. Really appreciate it!
9:47 I'm going to go out on a limb and say all 6 cartoon shows are going to be interconnected with each other! That's right! X-Men 97, followed by Spiderman 98, Iron Man 96, incredible Hulk 98, Fantastic Four 95, and finally silver surfer 2000! It may be a little presumptuous, but this old school cartoon show\ hip hop head would love to see all of these things happen before I go into the great beyond! No! I don't plan on shuffling off this mortal coil anytime soon, but I know how the entertainment business can be! It would be a great opportunity to start up a whole other branch of the MCU! Besides, you have more stories in the comic books that you could ever really adapt into movies and video games so just have two branches of the MCU. 1 animated and one live action and start putting all of those crossover comics all into hardcover editions so that the kids can read them. Yes, I am all about children learning how to read because, that's how I learned to read first. So, anybody who's reading this message if you got children turn the television off and read comic books to your kids. You never know what might happen! You never know you might spark the imagination of a kid it might take inspiration from the comics it might become the world's next great engineer, scientist, or doctor. That's what happened to me at least. Stan Lee's comics made me love school and science not to mention the X-Men were there for me when my dad passed away. They even helped me come to terms with my cerebral palsy. Watching them fight the bad guys I didn't feel so bad about being in a wheelchair because Professor Xavier was in one himself. I know he wasn't real, but it gave me something to strive for! That is the best lesson to teach the children. You might not be able to get them empowers but you can get their level of physical fitness and the education and I'm saying that two out of three isn't that bad!
Fantastic comments. I agree 1000% with your message about reading to your kids. I did that with my son starting in his early months and it made a huge difference for him. And that's such an amazing story to hear how the X-Men helped you deal with your cerebral palsy and to deal with your father's death. Thanks for sharing all that. I hope it's an inspiration for others. I know it was an inspiration for me!
23:52 I thought he decided to fly to the x-men, but black hole sucked him back. He was moving left and suddenly was forced to the right, so to the contrary, he tried to escape black hole, am I right?
Dude after this episode I gotta say I think you’re wrong. With seeing iron man, Mr fantastic and hulk all looking exactly the way that they did in the old shows there’s no way they did that on accident. And I don’t think they did it for them to just be variants. Especially following the old designs, which for both Tony and mr fantastic works (even though it’s not the last suits we saw) because they’re tinkerers, they’d go back to old designs and mess with them. Also I just finished iron man, moving onto fantastic four now, and I don’t think the bill Clinton thing is an issue, in that series he really never does anything a president would do, no policies or speeches like Kelly does. He’s mainly in charge of funding for government projects. I think it’s very possible bill Clinton is either the Vice president or the president of funding for military projects. I’ll have to see his other appearances to find out for sure. It seems like they’re gonna say “these shows are canon” and tell us to figure out the continuity issues the same way they did with things like the timeline book. I mean sure fantastic four may have issues, but so does iron man 2, I mean all the characters wrongly say it’s 6 months after iron man 1. We just have to overlook some things. Though tchakka is a HUGE mistake and idk how they’re gonna make that work but I am saying that in the same episode gambit came back so who knows what happened. Also man they’re bringing back gambit and apocalypse? I didn’t see that coming at all. Super cool. And I don’t know why they didn’t show us Wolverine storm etc but I don’t think they’re gonna show up in the mcu. I would love it but I just don’t see it being likely. Now if it was beast or professor x like we’ve already seen, maybe, but they weren’t there. Now the kang variants I can absolutely see being some tie to the mcu, but we’ll see.
Yeah, I do wish they would just tell us if the Fantastic Four, Iron Man and Hulk shows are canon to the universe. They drug their feet forever with the Netflix shows before finally calling them canon. But I would think they would just state up front whether the 3 animated shows are canon or not. I do agree that using the designs from those shows seems to indicate they are canon, but in addition to Bill Clinton and T'Chaka there are other big issues as well. I need to do a vid on it at some point. Gambit as a horseman will indeed be very cool...can't wait. And I'm very curious to see what happened to Storm, Wolverine and Morph. Plus, the potential for a Kang crossover? Wow...next season will be insanity!
@@AbitofEverything4U I’ve just started going through these shows now seeing all of iron man, the first season of fantastic four and xmen, and a few episodes of the Incredible Hulk, and so far the only issues I’ve come across are very minor. For example in fantastic four they slightly alter the surfers punishment in his second appearance, galactus’ size seems to have drastically changed (though this could have just been perspective) in his second appearance, and in the intro the order of who gets their powers when is changed. The only issues that I’ve had (so far) between shows are that Rick jones is pretty different between iron man and the Incredible Hulk, particularly in his origin. However one is a flashback and the other is actual time travel, so it’s possible Bruce just remembered it wrong. But I did a TON of research before starting this watch through to try to find every continuity error i could and fix it with a custom watch order, I’m only about 25% through the shows but so far it fits near perfectly. I think this really is the key to making this universe work. Like in fantastic four the third episode has them meet Namor for the first time, but in the opening two parter they fought him on a clip on a tv show before. Put episode 3 before episodes 1 and 2 and boom it works perfectly. It even makes for a good first episode because while it doesn’t go through their origin Namor points out all of their powers, and their actual origin is told through flashbacks anyway. But i definitely wanna be open to the other side, I’ve looked up every continuity error i could find and I’d say 85% of them are easily fixable. If you have any examples of continuity errors that just don’t work (like T’Chaka in xmen 97) I’d love to hear them, I’m curious what issues you know about.
That's cool that you are watching the shows for the continuity issues. One I've heard of is the Scarlet Witch is portrayed very differently. And another is that the Scarlet Spider appears and throws things off. So perhaps keep an eye out for those two items as you do your watch. Have fun!
@@AbitofEverything4U good points, while I haven’t gotten to those parts yet (I’ll let you know when I do and how bad the issues are) I have heard the explanation that the scarlet spider issue is that since the one we see in Spider-Man is from an alternate universe, the one in X-men and fantastic four are from the main universe. And for scarlet witch I don’t think it’s too far of a stretch that she changed looks and grew in a way that would change her personality. Definitely depends on how extreme it is though. Nonetheless you’re still definitely right that there’s issues, some of which can’t be easily explained like tchaka. I’m just trying to figure out if there’s a small enough amount of those undeniable issues that make it not canon, or if we can more or less ignore those or chalk them up to timelines changing or whatever.
Yeah, I wish there had been more communication between the different shows back in the day. It seems the X-Men and Spider-Man shows communicated pretty well, but the other shows kinda did their own thing. But if there's a way to make them all work together, I'm totally down for it!
I hope not the last time we see white phoenix but I do hope they use the phoenix sparingly only when need not every season but maybe one day they use Jean Gray as the phoenix to show how much of a theat that seasons Villan is because even the phoenix gets defeated and isn't the answer
He wasn't trying to get into Emma's mind in that scene. Magneto wouldn't leave them there to die, he would bring them up to asteroid M or give them the choice at least like he always have. Please read some comics...
Oops, yep, it was Charles trying to get into Emma's mind...which actually makes even more sense why they used that scene. Thanks for pointing that out. Regarding Magneto, he didn't seem interested in rescuing any of the mutants on earth and even told Charles that "evolution thrives in darkness." If Magneto was going to bring them to the asteroid, then his response would have been something like "Oh, Charles, do you doubt that I would have saved them in time?" Instead, he seemed fine with the remaining mutants figure out life on earth with no magnetic field. Anyway, great feedback on the vid. Really appreciate you watching and sharing your thoughts!
@AbitofEverything4U watch the episode of the Phoenix saga again, he was not trying to get into Emma's mind. He was probing the club and she was using that machine (like a cerebeo) to block his entry. Telepath against telepath. And just cause you don't see something happening in those 35min of a show displaying hours to days doesn't mean it doesn't happen or won't happen. His track record is to bring them with him, those that choose to. You realize the characters also sleep, eat, shower when we aren't watching right?
Regarding Magneto, I'm just saying that if he truly cared about the mutants on earth, his first response to Charles would have been his plan to save them. To me, it's very telling that his first response is they will "thrive in darkness". He said the quiet thing out loud, imo. But it's cool if we don't agree. Really appreciate you sharing your thoughts. Thanks so much!
I'm just saying it goes to my point that Magneto acted irrationally and had didn't have a plan for the mutants. If he truly cared, he would have told Charles that. Instead, he was fine with them living in darkness. All I can go off of is what he said when he was asked a direct question. I don't know what he may or may not have done down the road. But it's okay if we agree to disagree on this. No problem at all. Thanks again for all your great feedback!
There was an episode(I think Spider-Man) where Spider-Man, The Fantastic 4, Captain America, Ironman, and Storm all on an alien planet fighting giant alien worms. Does that not confirm it’s all the same universe?
Excellent question...yes, in the final season of Spider-Man's series were got a Secret Wars storyline that included all of those characters. So there is no doubt that the shared universe between Spider-Man and X-Men includes a version of the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, and the Hulk. The question is whether it's the same version in the animated series for each of those characters. Unfortunately, there are alot of discrepancies between the other series, such as Bill Clinton being president and T'Chaka being dead. So a common way of viewing the series is as follows: - The Spider-Man and X-Men animated series are in a universe together, and they have variants of the Fantastic Four, Iron Man and Hulk in their universe - The Fantastic Four, Iron Man and Hulk animated series are in a universe together, and they have variants of Spider-Man and the X-Men in their universe Or, you could view it as one universe, but with different timelines. So one timeline is Spider-Man and X-Men and another timeline is Fantastic, Four, Iron Man and Hulk. Let me know if that makes sense. I really hope Marvel comes out with an official answer at some point, as it is definitely a point of confusion right now.

@@DanHosler Oh, good point...I hadn't noticed that yet, as I was so busy typing away...lol. Very cool!
The fact Kitty is now (finally) part of the TAS continuity, means a possible appearance by Excalibur in the next season.
Oh wow...I'd be so down for that!
Seeing your cameo theory at 8:49 had a howling laughing, you sir, is great at comedic timing.
lol...glad you liked that. Once you see it, it's very hard to unsee. 😂
I agree. It's certainly possible to retcon, but the appearance of T'Chaka makes it tedious and frustrating.
@@AbitofEverything4U do you think they removed t'challa bc of chadwick

This has really been an crazy and X-cellent season (pun totally intended). I can't wait for season 2!
Season 2 cannot arrive soon enough!
Good point...they could certainly explain some of the continuity issues as being caused by time travel. That's a workable theory!
@@AbitofEverything4U they can probably explain it as cable trying to erase the events of Genosha. Since he tried 200 times, the two timelines probably merged with each other. At least that makes sense to me so marvel can avoid explaining all of the inconsistencies. Of course nothing is official so those shows remain not canon for now
What with the X-Men traveling to the past and meeting a younger Apocalypse, that might alter a few things as well.
@@minicle426 Agreed....lots of timey wimey stuff going on!
Beau DeMayo pretty much confirmed that Storm, Morph, and Wolverine are in 3960 A.D.
@@AbitofEverything4Ui dont get it, what are we supposed to search for?
@@joaopires3917 "Storm appearing in the MCU", "Wolverine appearing in the MCU", and i didn't find anything about Morph
On the one hand, it could be seen as a pessimistic look of “the future is humans hating mutants and wanting us dead” and bastion is the incarnation of that hatred of mutants
You could also look at it literally and see him as a terminator Like figure so calling him the “future incarnate” is literal in that way
Finally I see it as a way to describe the perceived inevitability of him as a threat. Cable tried hundreds of times to stop him and he moved into the future anyways. Nothing could stop him. Inevitable. “Future incarnate”
Love those ideas...yeah, it was a fascinating line and I do suspect it was very purposeful on the part of the writers.
11:56 I don't WANT to cure cancer! I WANT to turn myself into Sauron!
lol! Niiiice!
I think we can imagine that this series is now the "prime" timeline as its own contained universe, not necessarily connected to those old shows but moreso those shows where a character resembles their design but doesnt maych continuity are alternate branches on the timeline.
Or maybe those continuity issues that were retconned were nexus points a la loki and they were pruned
Yeah, I think both of your theories could work. Excellent feedback!
I didnt even saw all the parallels of Eric and Charles, so thx for showing them. Makes me able to enjoy/apreachiate the series so much more!
Yeah, the debates between Eric and Charles have been fascinating this season. Great stuff!
This was an amazing season finale, despite some contridictions with this timeline, and I hope Avengers vs xmen is adapted for next season so all the cameos this season will be justified.
Yeah, I really do hope we get an Avengers v. X-Men in season 2. So much potential for an amazing throw down!
Very good point...I do wonder if that line had something to do with Bastion absorbing Cable's arm. Excellent suggestion!
I just finished the episode... im overwhelmed
Yeah, what an episode...what a season. Wow!
Nice call!
Other cameos, including Daredevil and Black Panther had my mind blowing 🔥! This is one of the best tv series I’ve ever experience in 💯!
Yeah, it was such a great finale to a truly peak season. Kudos to everyone involved. Can't wait for season 2 to arrive!
Yeah, I really, really, REALLY hope we get a Spider-Man revival series. That would be so cool!
I never watched the original series, but now I kinda want to (and maybe the Spider-Man series as well)
Can't wait for Season 2. This series honestly made me more of an X-Men fan then I once was.
I agree...I think this series made me even more of an X-Men fan, which was a huge accomplishment. What a fantastic season!
Been waiting for this since I watched the ep this morning!!
Not to mention that Clinton’s presidency didn’t exactly leave the public eye on a good note
Edit: Forgot to mention T’Chaka being alive would support this.
Good point...it may be out there somewhere in the comics. I don't recall it, but I agree, it's a classic comic book villain line for sure!
None noticed that Bastion backup plan to make Asteroid M crash on Earth to create an exctinction level event is identical to Ultron's plan in Avengers: Age of Ultron?
I have to say, Bastion was probably 10 times much better than Ultron as a villain ha ha ha
Great catch! Yeah, I should have mentioned that in the vid...it was very similar to Ultron's plan, but I agree, Bastion was a waaaaaay better villain!
Yup, came here to say the same. Except it’s X-Factor. And in continuity they are governmentally sanctioned
@@mr2core Good points!
Funny that you called Graydon Bad Apple. In the comics, he just took on the codename of Bad Seed.

Great commentary on the finale...I agree, it was truly peak. Cannot wait for season 2 to drop!

@@AbitofEverything4U Don't be sorry, it was well worth the wait!! Great breakdown

okay, embrace yourself for a really lengthy comment because my goodness was there so much stuff to love and talk about in this.
Also, since I know we all love small details on this channel, another detail I only paid attention to now is that Genosha is maybe in the same geographical area as it is in the comics, since it's daytime at the X mansion whilst it is nighttime in Genosha when Jean and Madelyne both get the psychic vision/beam shot into their heads (which is fairly accurate since the area where Genosha is in the comics would be around 7 hours ahead of NYC where X mansion is located). anyways, onto stuff about this episode and video:
4:29 not only all that but, like what we saw with jubilee and sunspot, most humans would've launched an all out war on the mutants even on the dying earth while magneto would be chilling on asteroid M with his gf and a posh thirdwheel
8:12 just like last time, that is still only just a mnemonic scrambler and not a neutraliser, but it would've been nice if storm hadn't stopped them from making it a neutraliser lol. though i do wonder if the phoenix just attached it to him permanently somehow? at first i thought he must've repurposed it and transformed it into being a part of his body like he did with cable's arm, but the sentinels didn't seem to come back online so maybe it's just irremovable somehow and is still present under the new "skin" on his face.
Plus he's protecting *President **_Kelly_* as opposed to President Bill
12:06 okay dang this is getting a bit more hard to explain away, but i still hope this is just the 97 creators choosing the more recognizable designs as opposed to connecting those universes to 97, the latter would be soooo messy. Also, I liked the Spiderman design way better :(
12:38 iirc they'd only be variants if they're both taking place in different branches of the same universe, but if they're in separate universes then they wouldn't count as variants
15:09 100% agreed, in fact that was my last favourite part of the episode.
17:22 okay nevermind, ignore my first point, i totally did not write out and subsequently delete a third reminder just now before finally getting to the Storm bit HAHA
18:15 I think there are several reasons: 1.
If a Spider-Man ‘98 was to be announced they would probably announce it at D23 or comic con cause I’m pretty sure X-Men ‘97 was announced at D23 as well
Good point...fingers crossed we get some news on that front!
This is the first time we finally see Cloak and Dagger in the animated series. Let's hope we'll see Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Elektra, Deadpool, Fantastic Four, X-23 and Moon Knight in Season 2 or 3.
I'd be down for all of those cameos. I hope they keep making the world feel bigger and bigger and that all these heroes inhabit it!
About Archangel, he was in Genosha during Bastion's genocide, he's probably listed as missing since they never found his body
Good point...That may well explain it!
The writing this season was amazing! Whatever Marvel chooses to do, they have a lot of great options! I hope they connect all the 90’s animated shows
100% agree...fantastic writing.
I love how the black hole looks a lot like the collider in spiderverse
Agreed...I can't help but think that's intentional!
I don’t know why but Xavier’s face when he gets shut out in the intro is hilarious to me
I agree, it is a pretty humorous expression. 😂

Yeah, that's such a funny placement. Charlie Cox be like "ummm...no thank you".
Oh...now that's a cool theory. It was kinda strange that Phoenix was just suddenly gone. I like that idea!
97' Steve and Tony deserve to be taught a lesson by our lovely X-men
Big time!
Cyclops eyes when looking at nathan with his own eyes looks like a black hole in a red center
Good point!
This was great, best breakdowner on youtube
That's very kind of you to say. Truly appreciate the positive feedback as well as your amazing support of the channel!
Pharaoh Ram- tut(kang) guards were the ones hunting En-sabah-nur(Apocalypse) to be kang heir to Egypt.
Exactly! Gonna be wild to see that story play out next season. Can't wait!
I notice in the Times Square scene, theres the coca cola ad present in the center of the scene
I think this is a nod towards SpiderVerse, where in Miles universe, the ad is for his alternate universe version, but in Peter's universe (616), theres a coca cola ad.
Yeah, I think season 3 being a full-on AvX season would be peak!
most of my speculations came up true, i was so happy , tq for ur support via comments...ALOHA
Yeah...lots of crazy storylines ahead for season 2!
I have my one thought and speculation so let’s discuss
2:09 This may also foreshadow that she may be part of the team next season.
He’ll probably be plotting his revenge while the team deals with apocalypse
16:50 If the phoenix is true gone in Jean it perfectly sets up hope summers obtaining it and setting off AvX.
21:44 I believe when the show was airing Polaris connection to magneto was still vague so I can see the show making this a reveal especially when we later see her in the boat.
22:07 reminds me of the Death Star Wars core from return of the Jedi
30:49 Oh boy the board.
Haha. Vice President Heisenberg! I love it
Oh my! lol!
However if that is too ambitious then I can see a tight group consisting of
Emma frost.
For the four horseman my predictions are
Gambit for death.
Oh wow...love those ideas for the 4 horsemen. Niiiiiice! Love all your feedback!
9:42 I think iron man just got upgraded suit similar to iron man animated series, hopefully they cast original voice of iron man and war machine
20:34 for nightclawer case I think just expression, that he shocked bastion still managed to stand on his feet
Good points. Totally agree that I'd love for them to get the original voice actors back for iron man and war machine!
If you mean James Avery (War Machine), I'm afraid he passed away in 2013.
@@minicle426 Oh, bummer...RIP!
Agreed...would be a wild twist!
Been in a lot of wars, bub. The brave always die first.
They do indeed!
Yeah, I always love anytime Wolverine goes to Japan. Would be a good place for him to nurse his wounds. And man, what a season indeed!
Episode obsession : Ah , Beast how many people Dreamed of my End . You are no closer than the babylonians with their swords and fire sticks . This ties up that loose end . I am the rocks of eternal shores . Crash against me and be broken : Bastion and Sinister both tried to be immortal like Appokalypse and they both got crushed
In order to kill an immortal , you have to kill him 3 times in 3 time periods. They are copy pasting Legends of Tomorrow to kill Vandal Savage and that s what we are getting for X Men 97
Great point...this does remind me to some extent of how they had to kill Vandal Savage. Season 2 is looking like it will be peak!
Yep, I definitely wondered if that was a possibility. Would be so wild if that happened!
Storm, Morph & Wolverine are probably with Jean and Scott
That's certainly the safest bet for sure for Storm, Morph & Wolverine. But if you are okay with learning about rumors (I avoid them in my vids, as many people don't like learning about them), then google each character appearing in the MCU (I suggest doing it one character at a time) and you may find something interesting. What a wild twist it would be!
I am so happy to see Peter Parker and Mary Jane are reunited and hopefully they are married in this universe which could open the door for my girl mayday Parker spider girl in the future which would make me so happy in my opinion.
Would love to see Mayday!
@@AbitofEverything4U same here I would love to see mayday Parker spidergirl too mostly because she’s my favorite character in all of marvel comics in my opinion.
💯
I don’t think that was Walter White sitting next to President Kelly, I think it was actually Obadiah Stane. Looks just like Jeff Bridges from the first Iron Man 1 movie…
Oh, now that's a cool theory. Obadiah Stane in tight with the president would be a scary development indeed!
30:41 yep we certainly can't imagine that. oh wait...
what am I saying 🤭
lol...indeed!
Ironman has many different suits of armour, but Iron Man, fantastic four Avengers United they Stand and Silver Sufer
I loved this show so so much ❤
Absolutely peak!
30:21 it could thunderbolt Ross who runs against creed
Great suggestion!
Theory
Remember how cable wasnt even really hype to see cyclops But he was soo clingy to madelynn and trying to save her becaause thats his real mom Well think this nathan in the past is cable and he met cyclops when he was a boy But now cable is mad at cyclops from leaving him AGAIN when hes 10 iN 3090AD I think jean is a big reason why cyclops leaves again and cable salty at jean and cyclops 4L But why didnt they take cable w them?
Great theory...man, next season is going to be insanity!
I think all the other Marvel characters are variants, and we can also blame time travel for inconsistencies.
Right...I think both of those are very good explanations!
Great series
Agreed...it was peak!
23:52 I thought he decided to fly to the x-men, but black hole sucked him back. He was moving left and suddenly was forced to the right, so to the contrary, he tried to escape black hole, am I right?
Hard to tell, ig? I thought he was sucked in, but I agree, I have been torn on what really happened.
Oh, now that would be a cool twist...the Phoenix shows up in a later storyline and even it gets defeated. That would be wild!
@AbitofEverything4U it would, and it would show that the stakes are higher then ever before
💯
great video
Thanks...really appreciate it!
I new my theory i told you about has different trees 616 is its own tree and it shoùld look like a forest with different tvas and different relms
Yep, you nailed it!
@AbitofEverything4U look at the situation. People say dumb shit when angry all the time. At the end of the day he would give them an option. 👍
So a common way of viewing the series is as follows:
- The Spider-Man and X-Men animated series are in a universe together, and they have variants of the Fantastic Four, Iron Man and Hulk in their universe
- The Fantastic Four, Iron Man and Hulk animated series are in a universe together, and they have variants of Spider-Man and the X-Men in their universe
Or, you could view it as one universe, but with different timelines. So one timeline is Spider-Man and X-Men and another timeline is Fantastic, Four, Iron Man and Hulk.
Let me know if that makes sense. I really hope Marvel comes out with an official answer at some point, as it is definitely a point of confusion right now.
@@AbitofEverything4U Forgive for my late reply. I totally get what you are saying and I’m sure we’ll get a clearer answer in time.
No problem at all. Really appreciate you taking the time to comment on the vid. Thanks again!
Beau DeMayo wrote 2 episodes of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds so I'm pretty sure he's a trekkie
Oh wow...now that's really cool. Yeah, he does indeed seem to be a Trekkie!
