      Anywho lol on a much less controversial note😅ummm 36:39 ^why can’t this mean that Deadpool then happens in 2004/3?
      It would line up with Logan’s quote of no new mutants have been found* (not born), since 2004.
      & would also give the young 2nd-class/2nd-gen/darkphoenix-team a bit more time to age into their 2023 older looking versions.
      Not to mention it would even poetically have it so that the New Mutants get introduced after the last time we chronologically get to see the young actors playing the young versions of the 2nd-class/2nd-gen/darkphoenix team
      Plus that way it wouldn’t cut in-between Deadpool 1 & 2 as well, less important but still^
      {Also Deadpool having died even earlier in Cable’s 1st future (say maybe in 2030) doesn’t change the fact that Cable can still say he is very much dead 50 years from 2016 or 2003 cuz either way even if Cable hasn’t lived to see past 2054 he can safely assume that if Deadpool for sure died in say 2030, he’s would most likely still be dead by then}

      @@SaveDareDevil-MxI'd be okay with that timeline. It's kinda hard to explain why Deadpool 1 is happening 14 years prior to it being released when nothing in the movie seems to indicate that, but then again, the entire timeline is confusing. 1. Beast had managed to make an updated version of the serum to allow him to walk
    2. The Professor X that Young Cyclops sees is an astral projection

    I also think strykers mystique eyes are that (if we assume she somehow knows that strikers the one who experiments on logan with adamantium) shes there to pose as stryker to claim logan, that way when mystique leaves theyll end up giving his body to the real stryker who will realize he has an opportunity to experiment and thus shes ensuring logan ends up in the hands to end up metal as he should be, kind of like staying 2 moves ahead playing chess making sure the military knows stryker wants that mutant and thus making sure logan lands right in the real strykers lap

    20:08-X-Men: Apocalypse kind of fixes this a little bit, in that movie she is rescuing mutants and then once they are safe, leaves to look for more. I think it's plausible that she finds Wolverine in 1973, saves his life and then parts ways later down the road, and by the time we get to X-Men: Apocalypse, Logan has now been recruited by the real Stryker

    20:38-So, slight thing here, Xavier only has the "Welcome back." line to Logan in this context
    LOGAN: "You did it."
    PROFESSOR X: "Did what? Logan, don't you have a class to teach?"
    LOGAN: "A class...to teach?"
    PROFESSOR X: "History."
    LOGAN: "History? Actually, I could use some help with that."
    PROFESSOR X: "Help with what?"
    LOGAN: "Pretty much everything after 1973. I think the history I know is...a little different."
    PROFESSOR X: "Welcome back."
    LOGAN: "It's good to see you again, Charles. It's good to see everyone."
    PROFESSOR X: "Well, I had a promise to keep. You and I have a lot of catching up to do."
    LOGAN: "Yeah."
    PROFESSOR X: "What's the last thing you remember?"
    LOGAN: "Drowning."
    So, by Logan bringing up 1973, that's him realizing.

    • @AbitofEverything4U
      @AbitofEverything4U  Месяц назад +4

      ig for me it seemed like it was Charles realizing Logan's mind had snapped back into his 2023 body in the new timeline. Charles said his line right after Logan realized everything since 1973 seemed different. So it was Logan's original 2023 mind snapping back into his new 2023 body and Charles understood what that meant. But I agree that Charles' line isn't super clear.

    • @yukikid2195
      @yukikid2195 Месяц назад +5

      @@AbitofEverything4UI personally take it as Charles remembering when Logan came to him in the “new” past and realizing Logan FINALLY remembered, due to his mind coming back to the new 2023. 40:36 I think the main thing with Logan is that it originally was going to be its own universe because of the giant implications (no more mutants being born after 2004). By the time they started finishing the script for the movie with the continuity, Fox and Mangold probably realized how good the film was. They also knew they could get a X-23 spin-off out of it and such so it became canon to the revised timeline. Hugh was probably right at some point.

    • @AbitofEverything4U
      @AbitofEverything4U  Месяц назад +3

      Right! I think it was going to be its own thing and thus Jackman's quote was accurate when he said it, but then they decided to tie it in more closely to the X-Men timeline(s) and then to even have New Mutants use the footage in their movie. So it went from no connections to a massive number of connections. Wild stuff!

    Great job, as always! Thank you for this early access as well. It's awesome to have them a bit earlier than usual!
    Speaking of the video itself, I think it all fits very well, so I don't have much to add. The thing I wanted to talk about is that passing comment that you made at around 22:00 on your theory of different Infinity Stones with different rules for different universes. As we said time and time again under many other videos, I totally agree, and I think I might have a new small piece of evidence to confirm it: every time a new universe is created, the six Singularities "break", so they cannot be reused to create a new one! This requires a comprehensive explanation, so sorry in advance for the long comment. You should be used to it by now haha!
    Right this morning I was rereading the first chapter of the timeline book, about the distant past, and from both that, the Collector explanation in GotG, and the opening of the Eternals movie it's pretty clear that, when a new universe is created, the exact sequence of events is:
    1) a Celestial, who for the MCU is Arishem, creates the "first sun", which I believe is a poetic way to reference the Big Bang (it cannot be the actual Sun, because both the timeline book and the opening crawl of Eternals place this "first sun" before the Infinity Stones and the universe itself are even created)
    2) from the Big Bang, the six Singularities are created (again, both the opening crawl and the timeline book agree on this point)
    3) the universe sparks into existence (as the Collector said in the GotG movie, which is also referenced in the timeline book)
    4) the "remnants" of the Singularities after the creation are then forged into "concentrated ingots", aka the Infinity Stones (confirmed again by the Collector and the timeline book).
    From this sequence, there are two important observations that can be immediately made:
    A) In order to create the Singularities, and therefore the universe, a Big Bang is needed, and the Big Bang is caused by the actions of a Celestial. This means that every time a Celestial causes a Big Bang, a new set of Singularities is formed.
    B) (And this is the important one!) After the universe is created, the Singularities seemingly break (I believe that it's likely this breaking of the Singularities that releases the energy needed to actually create the universe), and their "remnants" (to quote the exact word used by the Collector) are what's later reforged into the Infinity Stones. This implies that, after the universe is created, the Singularities are now shattered, making them unusable for a second universe.
    But we also know that there isn't just one Celestial out there. There's many of them, and new ones are still being born to this day (Tiamut is the best example that we know of). And if all of these Celestials each causes its own Big Bang, then this will cause multiple sets of Singularities to be formed. Then each set of Singularities breaks, therefore creating multiple universes, each with its own set of Infinity Stones, just as you theorized. QED. Theory confirmed haha!
    Plus, this also naturally explains how is it possible that different sets of Infinity Stones can have different rules: the timeline book says, quote: "[The Celestials] use their ability to manipulate matter and energy to construct suns that make life possible on other worlds" (page 12). The creation of the Big Bang is a direct result of the Celestials' ability to manipulate matter and energy, but it's never explicitely said that there's only one way of doing it. The Celestials are a sentient race, and each Celestial might put their own spin in this process. In other words, this "manipulation" process is not something mechanical that happens every time in the exact same way. It has to be done intentionally by a Celestial, a sentient being who has its own will and desires. This means that they have agency over how the process is conducted, and thus over its outcomes. Probably Arishem likes time travel to work as Hulk explained, and so he manipulated matter and energy so that it works that way, but maybe the Fox Universe was created by a different Celestial, who instead prefers time travel to work in a more Back to the Future kind of way. Both are possible, and it only depends on the specific way in which each Celestial likes to manipulate matter to create its own Big Bangs. What do you think?

    • @AbitofEverything4U
      @AbitofEverything4U  Месяц назад +4

      Wow! I love it! I agree, that's a very good way to describe the creation of each universe and in particular, why the infinity stones can form differently each time a new universe is formed. You summed it up really well when you said it depends on the specific way each Celestial manipulates the matter to create its own Big Bang. What a great breakdown the technical reasons for the unique versions of the infinity stones for each alternate universe. Bravo!

    Just wanted to put this out there for X-Men Origins: Wolverine; For the end when Professor-X shows up, my head cannon has been that in that moment he is an apparition or psychic projection. We know he can do this, we've seen him do it before. And since he was presumably off this medication in 1979, this works easily. I even rewatched this exact scene to make this assertion and he never physcially interacts with anyone. So I think this works, let me know what you think! I just saw that other people have also considered this in the comments, but I wanted to still add it here.

    The Gifted fits completely.
    New Mutants would be set in 2026 because of Logan's file, plus Dani can only see memories, not visions of the future, that is established in the movie, another thing is that Dr. Reyes says she went to save them, maybe after the incident of the doctors releasing the children, it makes sense that they now want to experiment on the rejected teenagers.
    In Legion something curious is that they mention the name change of Mumbai, as you say they always use real historical events to establish the time, so I think it would be connected with the Dark Phoenix event which also occurs in the 90s.
    I hope you understand what I’m trying to say.

    • @AbitofEverything4U
      @AbitofEverything4U  Месяц назад

      Excellent feedback. So in regards to New Mutants, are you referring to this line from Reyes: "To save you! If it wasn’t for me… you all would’ve been dead a long time ago!" I'm not sure what she's indicate here, tbh. Perhaps it is in reference to the vision Dani had. I do like the idea of the New Mutants taking place in 2026, but on the other hand, the director of the movie said they were originally planning for a trilogy, so it seems in that case it would fit better in 2017. But I really don't like the idea of Dani's visions being of the future as that seems very odd. Man, placing that movie is so frustrating.
      As for Legion, it looks like that name change for Mumbai was in 1995, so that's another of the many references that make placing that show so hard. My biggest issue with it being in 1995 is that it means Charles couldn't have had David until the 1960's, since there's no way that David is older than his early 30's. And that seems like a long time after WW II for Charles to have had David. But I'm very certain that the show is not tied to the main X-Men timeline as nothing about Charles backstory matches the backstory of Prof X in the X-Men timeline. Craziness. New Mutants and Legion are both so tricky.

    Something I've just come to accept with these movies is relative canonicity. As it progress we are just seeing a possible outcome of the events of a past movie. With Future Past and Logan for example, the discrepancy between Jackman and Mangold can be explained by thinking that Future Past is canon to Logan, but Logan is not canon to Future Past. It's how I've kinda reconciled the 616 fiasco as well. Theyre two seperate multiverse in which the MCU is in the comics multiverse but the comics are not in the MCU's multiverse, so they can both be 616

    • @AbitofEverything4U

      That's certainly one way to make it work. In the end, I think each person's own viewing order should be the one that brings them them most enjoyment. So your suggestions work great if that's how you view the timeline as occurring. As for Jackman vs. Mangold, my guess is that at one point Logan was going to be disconnected and thus Jackman gave that quote. But over time Mangold seems to have changed his mind, because it sure appears like he wanted to connect the movie back to the other timelines. It's all pretty wild stuff. That timeline is about as messy as they come, but at least the movies were awesome...well, most of them. : )

    Great job with the timeline! I am trying to map it out myself and noticed the Red Hook easter egg and was going to include it after Dark Phoenix, but since I've only seen Season 1 it's good to know Charles' timeline doesn't add up with the Original or Revised Timelines.
    Speaking of Charles, the rest of Beast's quote about Charles taking the serum is interesting. He says that Charles takes too much. So if he was at a proper dosage, he could have his powers (probably not the full extent) and walk. So after 1973 in the Original Timeline, he probably realized he needed to cut back and that led to what we saw in Origins and The Last Stand. And then sometime before the first movie he realizes the benefit and need of having full use of his powers and gives up his legs. In 2023 (Original Timeline), Charles says he was a very different man in the 1970s, so he obviously had a lot of natural character growth since then.
    When you were talking about Dark Phoenix's ending, I thought of a quote I think was said by Simon Kinberg. Basically that a direct sequel would've tied up all the loose ends to explain how Jean was at the end of Days of Future Past. One of the many plans for Dark Phoenix that never happened, but would've done so much good for the timeline.
    One thing I disagree with is how time travel works. I agree that the Infinity Stones are different in each Parallel Universe like you said. However, I still believe the Fox X-Men Universe branches. In Days of Future Past's ending, the characters all just disappear and seemingly relocate, indicating a shift. Well, that's not really evidence, as that could be visual for both branching and erasing. The real stinger is one you (no offense) looked over. If the Original Timeline is truly erased, how did Deadpool (in Deadpool 2) go back and kill Weapon XI from Origins? That obviously didn't happen in the Revised Timeline, so he must've traveled through branches (like the Avengers did to get back from the branches they made to their original timeline) to get to Origins and back. Just something to point out there.
    Overall, great job on the video! You gave me some great new perspectives, especially with Legion and The New Mutants' placements. Keep up the good work! 👍

      Awesome feedback! I like your suggestion for solving the Charles issue. And that's cool to hear that about them wanting to resolve the Dark Phoenix storyline. Bummer we never got that movie. As for the time travel, yeah, you do have to wonder about how Deadpool jumped into that timeline if it had been erased, but in a way we know he didn't go into the original movie's timeline or it would have altered the earlier movie. So I assume maybe he went to a different version of the timeline to kill that deadpool? So confusing, tbh, but also such a great gag! But anyway, loved your feedback. Man really great video. I really loved all the great insight. But before I get into the video itself I want to touch on my thoughts on this being an early release for members. Obviously I missed the early access lol, but even as a member, I really dont think these videos should be given early access to us. When a video is done, I personally believe that everyone should be free to enjoy your content all at the same time. I'm not a big fan of a temporary paywall behind some of your videos. But thats just my 2 cents, im sure other members may feel differently.
    1. WOW. You know everyone gives this timeline a hard time (frankly because it's trash, incredibly confusing and full of plot holes) but man I never realized how they had so so many real world connections. This franchise that struggles more with continuity is doing better at relating to the real world then the mcu is now. Thats awesome I'm really glad you touched on that.
    2. I was really surprised to hear all the connections in Logan. And while I personally dont believe it I think theres a really strong case to be made that it's actually in the original timeline not the revised one. After all couldn't another name for the program wolverine was in, in the original timeline just be weapon X, and the dude who's dad died was at the power plant? Doesn't matter too much but with all the references to the original timeline and barely one for the new timeline it makes me wonder.
    3. Cmon dude, Red Hook being a town that exists (even if its his incident and not the one in dark phoenix), saying "Legion is a part of the X-Men universe" and very frank "Yes, its connected" by the show runner and you still dont think its canon? You choose the one quote that says it's not canon, by Loeb? you minds well choose the Gifted quote that says "its its own universe" at that point lol. There's way more evidence suggesting it is then isnt imo.
    Plus theres no reason that Professor X couldn't do all that off screen right? I mean again come on the dude infamous for being in a wheelchair can get up and walk around, die and come back but he can't have a kid and join the military off screen?
    Again I wanna be clear this isnt hate, totally love you dude. and totally respect your beliefs. Just find it personally really odd that you go "heres all the reasons its canon, even with the show runner saying it is" after going "heres how to explain all these plot holes in this whole universe" and then you go "oh this has a plot hole I can't even try to fit it in, and we gotta go by this one specific quote saying its not canon" Love you, love your stuff just found it really odd.

      Great feedback on whether I should do early releases. Yeah to your point, I won't do it on all of vids, but I may do it on a few here and there. So your comments on it were very helpful.
      1. I agree...it's really cool just how many real world events the X-Men films reference.
      2. Logan is so darn hard to place. I think I like it better in the revised timeline, but you make some good points for it being in the original timeline.
      3. The main reason I was saying Legion wasn't part of the X-Men timeline is that Xavier was a child living at home during WWII in X-Men: First Class, but was an adult fighting in WWII in Legion. So their storylines are very different. Plus, I haven't found any quotes from the creatives regarding Legion being canon to the main timeline and instead found that everyone said it isn't.
      The other questionable entries (New Mutants, Deadpool, Logan, and The Gifted) all had a mix of quotes. Some said they were canon and others said they weren't. But in all cases Legion was said to be it's own thing. So that's why I put it outside the timeline, fwiw.

      Xavier being a kid in ww2 vs fighting in it, is a big change that makes a lot more sense and even with the iffy continuity that’s a pretty dang bad mess up if it’s connected. Definitely a good reason to think it’s not.

    I personally place the original X-Men in 1994, and I justify the "Not too distant Future" line as being relative to the flashbacks at the beginning of it and X3. So I choose to place them in 1994 and 1997.

    • @AbitofEverything4U

      Yeah, I think that's a perfectly fine placement for X1 through X3. It honestly could go either way on the placement between 1990's and mid 2000's. Do you also pull The Wolverine back abit from 2013, so that it isn't 16 years after Last Stand in 1997?

    • @JosiahHerring

      @@AbitofEverything4UI still personally choose to leave it in 2013. As you said, there really aren't any specific timeline hints in the movie outside of the post credit scene being 2 years later. And I don't remember them saying it's been a specific number of years since X3, but I admittedly haven't sat down to watch it since probably about 2018 or 2019.
      It is a bit weird to have 16 year gap, but considering how long Logan's already lived, it's not impossible he's chose to live as a hermit for that whole time. I could see it going either way, but think 2013 is a well enough placement for it in my opinion.

    Something also to consider that I just mulled over now, I think X-Men (2000) through Origins contain no continuity errors.
    Similarly First Class through to Phoenix also contain no major continuity errors.
    Looking at it this way it seems pretty clear that First Class was indeed a soft reboot as originally touted, only referencing a version of the original Trilogy and Origins, but not their exact same continuity.

    • @AbitofEverything4U
      @AbitofEverything4U  29 дней назад

      Good feedback! I do think the original movies (X-Men thru Origins) had a few continuity issues, such as the 15 years statement with Wolverine that is so hard to reconcile with the original trilogy happening later in the timeline.
      Granted, First Class made the situation worse with the fact that Xavier was paralized in 1962 but was walking during Origins in 1979. But I think that DOFP came up with the fix for that (i.e. the treatment Xavier was taking), so thus it was trying to fix that earlier issue.
      So I do like having DOFP connect the two timelines. But if you feel First Class was a reboot, I think that's a perfectly fine answer as well, since the timelines are pretty wonky and it's hard to find a definitive answer to address everything.

    I’ve had thoughts that the method of time travel results in different kinds of time travel rules/outcomes, like the pym particles does the branching, and the way she does it for Wolverine in DoFP(just his consciousness) doesn’t branch, and same with how Cable does it, so in a way hulk could be right, but technically wrong overall, but Dp3 could actually confirm the X-men movies have somehow been branching this whole time so we’ll see.

    • @AbitofEverything4U

      Great suggestions...yeah, I could see the explanation being that the means of travel (pym particles vs. Cable tech, for example) could mean we get branching in one case and BTTF logic in another. But I also like your theory that we may discover in DP&W that it's been branching in the X-Verse all along. Can't wait to see the movie soon!

    I was watching Days of Future Past earlier (still am, actually), Magneto is bringing the baseball stadium through the air with him right now), and Hank actually says something that could explain the supposed discrepancy between Days of Future Past and Origins.
    When he's explaining what happened to Charles, he talks about his oen serum, and that he takes just enough to control his abilities. But then he says that Charles takes more than he needs, implying that in controlled doses, Charles could be able to walk and still retain his powers.
    And even if that's not actually the case, there's still time from 1973 in the original timeline and when he shows up in Origins. I mean... It's like 6 years, but still.

    Note that it was Deadpool who said fifty years. If Cable is from 2054 and Deadpool is dead by then, barring any comic book shenanigans he would still be dead in 2068. If we say that Deadpool 2 creates another altered timeline then I thin it makes sense to place logan on time second timeline before 2068 and NOT the news timeline for a few key reasons:
    -Deadpool begins the movie lamenting the death of wolverine from Logan meaning that even though it takes place before logan Deadpool must understand that they are on the same timeline and therefore he will not team up with Wolverine
    -The adamantium bullet in Logan presupposes that in their timeline X-Men Origins Wolverine did happen however because DP2 ends with Deadpool killing Ryan Renolds before he can sign on to X-Men Origins then it didn’t happen.
    -The quote from the Logan creatives about the end of DoFP seems that they wanted to directly follow on from the ending of that movie, however since DoFP happens AFTER 2018 where the bulk of DP2’s timeline changes would have taken place the ending of DoFP is not confirmed yet for the post DP2 timeline.
    -With Deadpool so heartbroken about the inevitable loss of Logan and it ruining his chances for a team up he would actually have a vested interest in changing the timeline to keep Logan from happening. He has the means, motive, and knowledge to do so. It's just a matter of if he did or resisted temptation but still up in the air.
    -Though Logan is an INCREDIBLE movie, probably easily in the top 3 greatest solo Hero movies, I don’t really think we need to protect its place in the proper timeline since it’s kind of a miserable end point for so many beloved characters on and off screen so don’t have it on the final timeline ‘cause I don’t want it.
    As for Legion…idk maybe Deadpool messed with the timeline enough there’s a timeline where it fits perfectly.
    Also I think the New Mutants can’t take place later in the timeline because Logan’s “no new mutants born” is a bit of a stretch. Logan BELIEVES there were no new mutants born but he’s proven wrong IN THE SAME movie and though I still have yet to see New Mutants it seems the X-Men/Logan wouldn’t have known about them. As for their hopes to join the X-Men though a bunch did die it’s not outright said ALL of them die, a few could have survived and tried to keep the team going, even if not we see characters like X-23 still clinging to the hope the X-Men brought to the world through her comic. Is it really so hard to believe a bunch of teenage mutants might think/hope there would still be X-Men operating in secret out there somewhere?

      Fantastic feedback on the vid. I had never considered the idea that Logan (as well as the new ending to DOFP) might have been erased by the events of DP 2. I really like that idea, tbh. Nice call!
      And you raise a good point about Logan being wrong about no new mutants, although I think the younger mutant we meet in the movie were artificially created as I recall. Or am I getting that wrong? Regardless, I do like New Mutants happening more in a 2026 timeframe and thus avoiding having to make Dani's vision a future event, since I don't think her powers worked that way. So do you think 2026 is better for New Mutants?
      Again, fantastic feedback. Really appreciate you sharing your thoughts!

    I know I have commented before on another video: I contend that the First Class Timeline is its own thing and Shadowcat didn't send Wolverine through time but through another universe. Its the only way to explain the huge differences between the Original & Revised Timelines. The Wild Card is Deadpool "cleaning up the timelines". So the order would be:
    - Origins: Wolverine (which could be in its own universe)
    - X-Men
    - X2: X-Men United
    - (X-Men: The Game explains the gap between X2 - The Last Stand)
    - X-Men: The Last Stand
    - The Wolverine
    - The Future settings of DOFP
    - Wolverine comes back to the Happy Ending where everyone is alive which erases The Last Stand and some of X2 at least
    - Logan
    *Then we go into the First Class Verse*
    - First Class
    - Past Settings of DOFP
    - Apocalypse
    - Pheonix
    - Deadpool 1
    - Deadpool 2
    *Deadpool starts cleaning the timelines which erases Origins which could in effect erase the original timeline which causes him to be targeted by the TVA in Deadpool 3

      @@AbitofEverything4U So I feel our views on the Timeline are the most friendliest discussions that could compared to politics/religions.
      I consider all of the Fox Marvel Films to be in one universe. Evidence I am citing for it is The Extended Cut of the 2005 Fantastic Four keeps the Wolverine Easter Egg with Reed changing his face to resemble Hugh Jackman instead of a Heroic Chin in the original/theatrical version.
      Added factor of Jennifer Garner's Elektra appearing in Deadpool 3 means that the Daredevil & Elektra are at least connected to the X-Men films albeit if its in the Void.
      So far nothing to confirm the other Pre-MCU Marvel Films like Blade, Hulk, Ghost Rider, or Punisher. But who knows what else Deadpool 3 or Secret Wars will throw at us.

      MCU Series " ""What If... the Avengers Assembled in 1602?"""
      MCU Series "What If... Strange Supreme Intervened?"
      I placed the What If episodes based when their respective MCU Film or setting would have taken place. The Phase 2 is based on the end of Loki Series and having the Multiverse start playing fast & loose with the rules. I still stand by my argument that between Wolverine & Deadpool time travelling/universe jumping they erase Origins, parts of X-2, probably all of The Last Stand, and pretty much 97% of Deadpool 2 since Vanessa lives.
      If youre curious, here is my view of the Muliverse Saga Phase 3
      MULTIVERSE PHASE 3
      MCU Series WandaVision
      MCU Film Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings

      SSU Short The Spider-Within: A Spider-Verse Story
      SSU Film Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse
      MCU Film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
      I don't like throwing Eternals in the middle of the Far From Home>No Way Home but I'm trying to find a balance between what's chronological and best for viewing order for newcomers.

    Always appreciate your work!! Regarding time travel in Marvel movies, I personally theorize that the mechanics of it being represented differently is because multiple types of travel ARE possible. True Tony, Hulk and others affirm otherwise, but they're simply considering only what they know, Quantum time travel. Outside of Endgame, there are examples of alternate methods, Doctor Strange looped time and also detached from time in the final battle of his first movie; Ms. Marvel closed a predestined, self-fulfilling time travel arc; and Loki S2 showed that actions even extrinsic from time can rewrite a universe. I haven't fine tuned the theory, but that's how I excuse the differences.

    So to me, she impersonated Stryker to pull Logan out of the river, saving him, but then once he was out, she just let him leave on his own.
    At some point later, Stryker and Weapon X still got their hands on him, a story we’ll likely never get, but it would have happened at some point after early ‘73.

    Excellent breakdown! My only disagreement is that I (having never checked the calendar) would have put New Mutants closer to Logan, maybe around 2027 or 2028 just before the Westchester Incident. I figured that would be far enough along for Dani to see visions of the X-23 project and for them to think they could join the X-Men, although it assumes they never make it to Westchester before Xavier’s meltdown. I also figure that if Fox was still making these, they would have wanted to allow for the New Mutants and Laura’s X-23 mutants to run into each other (maybe with some of the Deadpool cast like Cable, Domino, and Firefist) in a big crossover fight against Essex/Mister Sinister. Still, you make a pretty compelling case for 2017!

    Because Origins came out after X1 and X2, I just take the two lines about "15 years ago" as retcons as the two different characters should actually state Origins as "24 years ago".
    But I'm also a semi-subscriber to the theory that Origins is actually an in-universe movie about the X-Man's past... which is abit out there I know 😂 and does require alot of head canon around certain things but it definitely helps to make the inaccuracies make total sense.
    Also, the points you made surrounding The New Mutants were very convincing but I still believe it takes place in 2020 due to the fact that in Logan its stated that "no known mutants have been born since 2004" and the youngest member of the new Mutants, Dani, is 16.
    I have also always felt that because Logan takes place in a different timeline to the OG trilogy doesn't mean the events of those movies still didnt occur, albeit not exactly but essentially similar, which is why they are still able to refer back to these events all the way in 2029.
    Finally, I do apologise if it seems like alot of my comments are criticising your timeline 😂 I dont mean it to come across that way, it's because I genuinely appreciate the hard work you put into these timelines like I do with mine and I am always curious to see what youd have to say in regards to my head canon

      @AbitofEverything4U  Месяц назад

      Excellent feedback. I do agree that we have to assume that the "15 years later" line was retconned. It's the "8 years later" of the X-Men universe. lol!
      I also agree that if we ignore the calendar (which may or may not be a good source of timeline info), then 2020 does work just fine for New Mutants.
      But I admit that I really like Logan taking place in the revised timeline, especially after Mangold seemed to confirm that with some of his quotes. In the end, ofc, it doesn't matter too much, and I think people should place it wherever they prefer. It's a bummer that the X-Men universe seemed to be building to something big with the Essex easter eggs in so many different movies. But alas, it ended without paying them off.

    The x-men movie timeline to me is very similar to the DC comics timeline. As explained in this video Days Of Future Past changed the timeline dramaticlly, since a lot of the previous movies became non-cannon. DC comics is kinda similar, because with big event maxi series, like Crisis On Infinite Earths, Zero Hour, Infinite Crisis, and Flashpoint, DC's timeline was alterted dramatically with all those events. While a lot of stories remained cannon, other stories were removed from cannon, and sometimes with other events, other stories that were removed from cannon, were made cannon again. Trust me, I'm a DC guy, and this can be confusing at first glance. Heck, DC's timeline changed in the 1950's and there wasn't an event storyline, DC just had to mention it!

    • @AbitofEverything4U

      Good analogy between the DC timeline and the X-Men timeline. Crisis on Infinite Earths was a great example of a huge change to the continuity. I remember trying to decide if any of the World's Finest comics (as an example) ever actually happened in the new continuity, only to decide that indeed 40+ years of those comics were erased by a 12 issue limited series. Wild stuff. But also very gutsy move. Love it!

    1) When it comes to Charles and the whole walking/powers thing is that I believe there is either a certain point in the medication where he is able to walk but still have his powers but he crosses the line because of all of the loss he had delt with and in the original time line he eventually stopped needing it but took it for certain things like recruiting the group from Origins and Jean in Last stand or Hank just developed a medication that just helps with walking but keeps the powers that he eventually just stops using it, but in the revised timeline he just stops taking the medication all together.
    2) For what happened with Logan in the new 1973, maybe because Mystique saw Logan working with her old friends, she decided to save him because not like enemy of my enemy but where she was there friend and he was also their friend then they could be friends, but because his consciousness jumped to the new future, this version of past Logan has no idea who she is and leaves to go back to war before it ends and then whatever version of Origins of this timeline has happens until we see him in 83.
    3) the younger cast being the X-Men in Deadpool 2 fits because Charles has not really changed since the 60's lol.

    I think that the war where Striker recruits Wolverine and Saber Tooth was not the Vietnam War in 1973 but the United States invasion of Grenada in 1983. 6 years later is 1989, 15 more years is 2004, which works as the not do distant future from 2000 (and also 2003). The Three Mile Island Nuclear Generating Station was a civilian facility, making it a pour place to hide a secret military facility, however after a melt down no one will go near it, making it a better hiding place, (also, what was depicted in the film was not a meltdown). Wolverine, being in Vietnam in 1973 does not work with him also being in NYC in 1973 in Days of Future Past. Finally, the displays on computers in the film are way too advanced for 1979, but would make a lot more sense for 1989.

    • @AbitofEverything4U
      @AbitofEverything4U  Месяц назад

      Interesting theories. It sure looked like Vietnam, but I'll have to go back watch those scenes again. As for 3 mile island, I wondered if it was after the meltdown, but if you watch the scenes where they are flying in, it doesn't look the a post meltdown 3 mile island. I think it's before the meltdown, since Gambit doesn't mention it being a meltdown site but instead that it has active reactors. As for Wolverine being in New York in 1973, I'm assuming he was home on a break, but then went back for another tour of duty. As for the computers, it seems everything is more advanced in the X-men movies, tbh. So I personally like the 1973 and 1979 placements, but your theories have alot of merit. Thanks for sharing all that. Really appreciate it!

    X-Men Movie Timeline.
    The opening scene in X-Men Apocalypse takes place in 3600 BCE which is a millennia before X-Men Origins Wolverine's opening sequence in 1845. In X-Men Apocalypse, we see En Sabah Nur/Apocalypse and his 4 Horse Men, who use their mutant powers in order to save the life of the proclaimed false God, En Sabah Nur/Apocalypse.
    Wolverine's timeline is like his memories, fragmented. But I guess, if we see the X-Men timeline as parts of Wolverine's memories then everything makes complete sense.
    Real kudos to you for trying to explain the X-Men timeline as, you have done a fantastic job.

    Doesn’t the Wolverine take place shortly after The Last Stand? I haven’t seen the movie in years but I thought Logan was morning the loss of Jean in the beginning of the movie. Feels like it’s a few years later at most.

    • @AbitofEverything4U
      @AbitofEverything4U  Месяц назад +2

      Great question. So it's interesting that it was Wolverine telling Scott he should move on after X-Men United, but then it was Wolverine who couldn't move on after X-Men Last Stand. I think the difference is that Logan had to kill Jean himself in Last Stand, so that was even more painful for him. And so it may be that even years later he still has nightmares about having to kill her.
      The reason I think The Wolverine fits better closer to DOFP is because Magneto and Xavier call on Wolverine to join them and Magento says "There are dark forces, Wolverine. Human forces, building a weapon that could bring about the end of our kind". It seems that if the movie were closer to Last Stand (i.e. 2007-2008 timeframe) then it would be a really large gap between the time he's recruited to the time that DOFP occurs in 2023.
      If The Gifted is truly part of the original timeline, then it fits very well to have the movie in 2013. In The Gifted, the X-Men are "absent" during the timeframe of 2017-2018. So if The Wolverine is 2013, with the epilogue in 2015, it makes sense that the X-Men are "absent" in 2017 as they are likely on secretive missions to find out what's happening with the Sentinels.
      Anyway, all just guesses on my part since The Wolverine doesn't give us any solid clues, but it just feels like it fits better if it's later in the timeline (i.e. 2013) and that Logan is still traumatized by having to kill Jean several years back. Thoughts?

    You do amazing work, and thank you for the time you gave to everything. Being a huge Wolverine fan, I have to point out that Logan definitely could have left Vietnam and worked for Team X as early as June of '68 to late '72. • @AbitofEverything4U
      @AbitofEverything4U  Месяц назад +1

      That's a cool idea. Okay, if we went that route, then the "6 years later" places us in perhaps 1974, which is fine. I do think the movie was implying that the finale of Origins was the reason for the incident at 3 mile island in 1979, but since they never firmly state that, then 1974 could work for that portion of the movie as well. Excellent feedback!

    • @stephenpiche7466
      @stephenpiche7466 Месяц назад +1

      @AbitofEverything4U
      I see the issue. I believe the ending coincides with the '79 incident as well. The Accords being in Jan of '73 would make it locked in that he wasn't in Vietnam till after and/or before. It does help with striker not knowing Logan yet, as well. And there were still some G.I.s in the region till at least '75. So Logan and Sabretooth just never returned for another tour, and he was instead abducted into the program after being recovered. This could also make sense as the attack on the village in XO:W would have been seen as a violation of that treaty just after signing, hence the corporal punishment and firing squad. Erased the problem by having them join Team X. Your logics on point and I'm sold. Amazing work.

    So in Logan they only believe that there are no new mutants because of the experimentation done on corn that prevents mutants from occurring, however we see that new mutants are actually still being born like in the case of the mutants like Laura in Logan, it is completely possible that new mutants takes place around the same time as logan and they are just not aware of them existing, it's not like professor X has cerebro to detect them.

    Plus that way NewMutants wouldn’t cut in-between Deadpool 1 & 2 as well, (😅less important but still lol)
    {Also Deadpool having died even earlier in Cable’s 1st future (say maybe in 2030) doesn’t change the fact that Cable can still say he is very much dead 50 years from 2016 or 2003 cuz either way even if Cable hasn’t lived to see past 2054 he can safely assume that if Deadpool for sure died in say 2030, he’s would most likely still be dead by then}

To the part of professor x losing his ability to walk in the 60s but can walk in years later…2 ways. 1. When he wants to portray himself as stronger person, like leading kids or talking to mutant parents he uses his powers to protect himself as a person that can walk. Or 2. The time travel in Days of Future Past reminds me a lot of the fulcrum explanation in The Flash. When Barry asked why Bruce looked like a different person and was somehow born at an earlier time, he said:
    "At some point you probably saw a movie that told you that if you went back and changed the past, you'd create a kind of branched timeline, right? Well, time doesn't work like that. When you go back and change the past, you create a fulcrum. You put yourself on a whole other strang of spaghetti. New future. New past. It goes both ways. Some strands run almost parallel. There will be inevitable intersections, and others that are just... wildly divergent."
    It conveniently explains why the same people might look different, be born at different times, the world has a different history, and why certain aspects of the timelines remain exactly identical regardless of all the changes, especially that single window Wolverine traveled to in 1973 where the timelines happen to intersect perfectly - it's where the two spaghetti strands (timelines) just happen to meet at the fulcrum

    • @AbitofEverything4U
      @AbitofEverything4U  Месяц назад

      Yeah, I definitely like the idea of branching better...or even that crazy spaghetti fulcrum explanation from The Flash. But it seems in DOFP that the characters in the movie thought that the current timeline would vanish. Here are a few key quotes:
      "As long as you're back there, past and present will continue to coexist. But once you wake up, whatever you've done will take hold and become history. And for the rest of us it'll be the only history that we know. It'll be like the last fifty years never happened, in this world, in this war. "
      "You can keep sending Bishop back in time over and over again to warn you, until one day, he doesn't make it, and you all die. Or you can give up this life. So that they and everyone else who died in this war can actually have a future."
      "You're asking us to sacrifice our lives for a future we might not even be a part of."
      "Yes."

Maybe a lesser dose helps him manage the intrusive nature of his powers while also allowing him partial use of his legs (enough for a short gentle walk but not much more).
