      I feel it works outside the other FOX X-men movies because Loki S2 seems to have needed to be watched in order to understand The TVA aspects of the story. And yet tying it loosly yet watchably into the core branch of the MCU timeline.
      Personally I think when Hunter B15 said the timeline was better now she commented along the lines of healing the universe. I think while the 10005 universe, in-universe, is now cleaned up to the point of being able to join the MCU timeline and we don't have to worry about FOX timeline issues. People know Wolverine, but now this is Wolverine and not the one we knew in the FOX movies. Same with X-23. I'm not sure I like the idea of a resurected Wolverine, though, as that would mess with the _Logan_ timeline, and they said they didn't want to, anymore than the opening scene, which didn't change his death; resurecting him would, though.
      I always assumed Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Yukio unintentionally reworked Cable's device when they fixed it to time travel other demensions. Perhaps it was intentional and that is why they were so worried about the fact that they handed it over to Wade. And considering The TVA didn't prune him for going to see Happy, that means it was meant to happen because it all leads to Wade, in-universe, playing an important part we still don't know about. It all adds another layer to how untrustworthy Parodox is with his lies and what he ends up doing. I think he wanted to get rid of Wade, and Anchor Beings (while being a metaphor for movie executives) was a way to get Wade to let his guard down long enough to be pruned while still following enough orders to not get caught doing all his rougue acts. The concept doesn't actually exist, in my opinion, but what Deadpool and Wolverine do, makes the X-Men universe healthier (or whatever the phrase was Hunter B15 used).
      After listening to Feige on his definition of Anchor Beings, I think an assumption could be made for a few things: 1. By the end of The MCU (whenever that may be) we still won't see the universe dead because it will have taken longer than great great great granchildren not born yet, to die. 2. Or each Saga and/or Phase could each have their own anchor being (example Tony Stark). 3. Or considering the next Saga is going to be a starting point to all Marvel properties being usable in the MCU (and therefore a soft reboot), we still haven't seen an Anchor Being in 616. 4. I do think Wolverine dealing with his issues and becoming the hero shows you can replace an Anchor being, if they are real. At the end of the day its all just too metaphorical to matter much to any grander scheme past ending FOX X-Men to incorparate things officially into the MCU, whether they end up being real or not.
      I can't remember if B15 knows what became of Loki in the tree or not, but if so it explains even more so, why she didn't like what he did; and if not she seems to be fixing the mistake of Paradox being in charge of anything.
      I don't think Gambit, Elektra, or Blade are from 10005. I think they got pruned before The TVA changed how they do things. With the exception of Laura, as that wasn't too long ago, chronologically speaking.
      Loki S2 said all Kangs had been rounded up. Unless shown otherwise, I'm assuming that means all Kangs are caught. Including everyone from the Quanumania end credit scene.

      The best thing about this film is Wesley Snipes as blade he still looks good and kicked ass
      Of course Henry Freaking Cavill as Wolverine he was sexy handsome acted that scene out to pieces and it was epic
      Chris evans as Johnny storm from the fantastic four original film
      Wolverine still looks good
      But I’ve always said if the only good thing about a film is the action scenes then no matter how good those scenes are it’s not a good film
      And that’s how I feel about this film too many unnecessary fight scenes between Wolverine and Deadpool especially the Honda car scene it didn’t need to happen
      But if you take away all the cameos and the fight scenes what are you left with nothing
      Just a film that really isn’t about anything and not even the bigger mcu

    One thing to keep in mind with the whole "why didn't X cause an incursion?" line of questioning, is that Reed was saying it was a *risk* of an incursion, not that it would definitely cause one. For example, think of a CD spinning in a portable player. A bit of shaking and everything is just fine, the built-in "anti-skip" handles it--this is someone taking a short visit into another universe. The longer the shaking goes on and the more intense it gets (or in this case the longer a foreign person stays in another universe and the more they impact events), the more likely a "skip" happens, which is an incursion. According to Clea, these can be fixed, but too severe an instance, and the whole thing breaks, damaging the "disk," or universe in this case.

      Deadpool reversed time. So his universe isnt an alternate timeline , its the original - even tho he originally died , he reversed it and his friends death. Then he reverse time back to origins , killing himself , but he also reversed back to 2009 before green latern, and since cable can return to his time , its implied the forward function sends you to the reverse time - which would be the original one u came to , not the new future.

    • @AbitofEverything4U
      @AbitofEverything4U  Месяц назад +1

      Great point! I agree, it's a matter of how much time you spend in the other universe that causes the issue. And I guess it was fine if Wade was sent to 616 as Paradox suggested, since Paradox was then going to kill off his universe meaning there would be no chance of an incursion happening between 616 and 10005. Anyway, excellent explanation!

    After Paradox says he can’t replace Logan with “this”, he then says something like “I wouldn’t have taken any other Wolverine you brought, but you had to go and one up yourself and bring me the worst one.” So no, I don’t think an anchor could be replaced, at least not until the end of the movie after the time ripper was destroyed. my understanding of anchor beings is basically once the 'audience' loose interest, once the main attraction to a movie dies, and or once things are slowly forgotten about.. i.e Electra's solo movie. blade 1, 2 ,3. the undeveloped Gambit movie... the universe dies with that character or concept. it ceases to exist within the zeitgeist and there for becomes extinct. also why it takes 'a thousand years or so' as a reference to die hard fans never letting go of the thing they so loved. and having a hard time accepting any other portrayal of a character.
    edit: example Tony Stark death.. everything in mcu since has been lack lustre and it has been rumoured the mcu is slowly fading, dying out... once Ironman as 616's Anchor being has died that universe slowly falls apart until it dies and they have to 'soft-reboot' to create a new attraction (most likely fantastic 4) with an incursion between two worlds colliding eventually leading to Doom and battle World

      I agree 100%. I think it was more of a clever meta joke on the movie industry and connected universes dying when they lose their main star, rather than something that is to be taken as actual metaphysics logic in the MCU. I will honestly be surprised if the term ever surfaces again.

      No way home was actually corny asf. Poor dialogue and forced interactions regardless of my admiration for Spiderman.
      Moon knight is as forgettable as everything else the saving grace was oscar Issac being an elite actor.
      Loki was pointless given it was setting up Kang to be the new big bag and a multiversal threat just to be absolutely undermined by ant man with last minute reshoots that killed prime kang (not to mention J.M controversy)
      So yes. Everything has been lack-luster.
      The one good thing to be released and to have actual relevance was guardians 3.
      And now Deadpool and wolverine (which is also the weakest out of the now 3 DP films. Even though I love 3 to bits!)
      MCU has been shit. Woke. Political and forgot how to be compliant story tellers while trying to juggle woke Hollywood whilst pandering to propaganda agenderists, politics they have no business dictating and deep throating us with gay/woke/female empowerment bs and totally incompetent staff hires. Whilst burning bridges with the people who built the MCU with passion and love.
      We were literally one bad flop away from becoming the starwars universe and luckily chapec was smart enough to pull the rug, fire the woke and cut the production line of totally bs TV and movies.

    Ok after seeing the film twice and comparing the notes from Loki, Quantumania, What If, Multiverse of Madness, Thor the Dark World, GotG, Eternals and even Dark Phoenix. I think I have a good understanding of what the Multiverse is and where Deadpool's 10005 comes in.
    Before the 616, time, and space, there was a black void with the Dark Elves. Then the 4 cosmic entities created the Infinity Stone causing the Big Bang, creating the follow of time. The Celestials then filled the virgin Universe/Multiverses with everything.
    However, things are different in 10005. "Because it's the spark that gave life to the universe and the flame that consumed my world." ―Vuk. The Phoenix Force created the Fox universe, does that mean no Infinity Stones, Eternity and the other Cosmic Entities? Idk.
    Loki S1 goes on to show us giant black holes, each containing a timeline ring (some call it a bush). We learn that other Kang variants come from these BH. He Who Remains weaponized Alioth, made the TVA, the Loom, and the Sacred Timeline to stop the Multiversal War. So, yes, the BH are the Multiverse. 616 is just 1 universe. Or Multiverse.
    Michael Wauldren said in an interview on the official Marvel Website about Loki S1 that multiple Multiverses exist. Also the Sacred Timeline is it's own Multiverse. We see what this means in Loki S2, as the Loom keeping 616 together breaks causing a Multiverse to formed from infinite timeline branches growing. This makes sense as a multiverse is a collection of multiple universes and timelines in Loki are universes in of themselves. So when What If calls the Tree Loki forms a Multiverse, it isn't wrong, it's just not the whole Multiverse. Wauldren goes on to call the collection of every BH the "Greater Multiverse".
    We hear in behind the scenes that America is special for being able to travel the Multiverse. Yet in What If Wanda and other characters cross timelines fine. That's because travel between timelines and travel between BHs is different. What If timeline hopping seems to not cause incursions. However, MoM says travel between BH universe do cause Incursions. This also lines up with HWR description of the Multiversal War.
    Loki establishes that branched timelines are labeled as universe # . # Ex: 616.203. However, 838 and 10005 aren't labeled like that. So how does the TVA monitor 10005. At the end of S2, the TVA started monitoring for other Kangs and S1 established Kangs come from other BH. This was also backed up in Quantumania which is referenced in S2. Therefore after S2, the TVA started monitoring possibly every BH for Kangs. (Ok but real talk how do they deal with Kangs, do they prune them, I feel like that wouldn't stop Kang)
    So is Deadpool and 10005 apart of the 616 tree. No, it's seperate. 616 is only itself and it's branches.
    Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

    After last night's announcement of RDJ playing a Victor von Doom variant, I think the most important thing to come out of this movie is actually Chris Evans' cameo and establishing that different individuals (in this case, Johnny Storm and Steve Rogers, and for Doomsday, Tony Stark and Victor Von Doom) can have Variants that are identical to each other. This is also a great way of explaining actors who've played multiple roles in the MCU, like Mahershala Ali playing Cottonmouth and Blade. Their MCU Variants just happen to look identical AND exist in the same universe. The Multiverse is very weird, since there's even one universe where TWO variants of the same person co-existed. (Jessica Jones, to be specific. One with her standard powers and an adult going by Knightress, and a teenager with Rogue's absorption powers going by Jewel.)

    For this Wolverines backstory he didn't just go to a bar and missed the massacre of the X-Men. Him going to the bar was when it happened, but the true backstory is that he distanced himself from the X-Men instead of embracing them as friends and family. Wolverine being the powerhouse he is could maybe have saved them if he had chosen not to be a drunk and a loner. That is why he is wearing his yellow suit because it reminds him of them (he could also maybe wear the suit as a punishment for his failures). This shows that he made a mistake to not embrace them and be better and that's why he feel such guilt (and also not for being able to control his rage that killed a lot of innocent people).

      I love that...I think you are 100% correct on that. Very good analysis!

  • @ThePatchedVest
    @ThePatchedVest Месяц назад +14

    1) A correction, E-10005 X-23 would be six during DP&W, because she was born in 2018, and was 11 in Logan.
    2) I don't think E-10005 is a "tree", I don't think most universes are. Yes, it can still be called that because it's a universe which is a collection of 'branching' timelines (branch, tree, plant metaphors). But I think 616/199999 is uniquely tree-shaped or rather Yggdrasil-shaped BECAUSE it's being held together by Loki, but not all universes have a Loki certainly not all holding their universes together. The only reason 616 Loki is there doing what he's doing is because of HWR's failsafes on the Loom that basically ensure the whole thing dies/rips to shreds if he isn't the last one standing.
    3) I think the guest characters are from different universes than E-10005. As for the designations, while they aren't always reliable, they're certainly not fan creations, they come from the Official Marvel Handbooks. Not accounting for the possibility that they could themselves be variants just played by the same actors (such as JJJ in Tobey's Spider-Man and the MCU), Blade should be from E-26320 and Elektra should be from E-701306. As for Johnny, I'm not quite sure he actually IS the same Johnny from the 2005 films. The suit/4 logo doesn't match up, and sure you could chalk that up to time passing/new suits, but then there's also the fact he has a Boston accent, which Johnny in the old films never did. I also don't think the old Tim Story F4 should be written off just yet for Secret Wars.
    4) My biggest one and most interesting one: aside from Wolvy, we don't see any more X-Men in this movie than we do in the first two Deadpool films (and I'm excluding DP2's brief gag cameo). It's just Colossus, Negasonic and Yukio. Every other mutant we see in the void (Pyro, Toad, Sabretooth, Azazel, etc) is either a Brotherhood member or not affiliated with any group. There were all these talks and interviews and rumors and yet -- we did not even get a "third act flashback" to James Marsden, Famke Janssen, Halle Berry, Patrick Stewart, Anna Paquin, Ian McKellen... none of them. Combine that with the film ending with DP remaining in 10005 and Kelsey Grammar's appearance in The Marvels and I begin to think that this might be more of the comedic standalone appetiser to a larger meal.

      Awesome feedback!
      1. Yeah, I can't believe I said she was 1. I was doing quick math and chose the 2018 date for DP 2 rather than the 2024 date for DP&W. D'oh!
      2. Agree 100%. I've started called the X-men universe more like a briar patch than a tree, as that's what it seems to be.
      3. I do like the idea of Elektra and Blade being from different universes than 10005. That makes alot of sense. As for saying the fan made universes aren't always reliable, I was more referring to the fact that many fan sites listed Logan as being a different earth designation than Deadpool's, but this movie seemed to confirm Logan was in the same timeline as Deadpool. Honestly, I've never quite understood why timelines are given different earth designations by fans, such as giving the OG X-Men timeline a different designation than the revised timeline of DoFP.
      4. You could be right that this movie was a fun one-off, but I am certain we'll see Hugh's Wolverine and Ryan's Deadpool again, so my guess is that to the reduce confusion of creating several X-Men universes/timelines that instead Feige will say The Marvels and DP&W are the same universe. Just a theory, but I do like the idea.
      Thanks for all the awesome feedback. Really appreciate it!!!

      @ThePatchedVest Месяц назад +1

      @@AbitofEverything4U I definitely agree with the third point. The revised/post-DOFP X-Men timeline always felt like it should be a E-10005B or E-10005.211 rather than an entirely new universe designation, like some people pushed for, likewise with Logan although to be fair until DP&W we didn’t know entirely for sure if Logan was in the revised 10005 timeline, especially with the director and others saying it was in it’s own timeline/universe removed from the others.
      While I’m not the biggest fan of all t creative decisions this film made, I’m glad they stuck with Logan being in the main X-Men timeline, because while it’s another bleak ending for the X-Men (and almost certainly one that’ll be undone come Avengers: Secret Wars) that overwrites the happy ending of DOFP - it’s simultaneously the perfect sendoff for Wolverine as a character, such beautiful acting and portrayals by Jackman and Stewart that should not just be locked off to it’s own unconnected inconsequential timeline/universe as it’s own thing IMO.

So, technically they could just write out the Council of Kangs by saying that it was the 616 Variants coming together, but they were killed off or whatever by the 10005 Variant of Kang. Which could even be used as an excuse to have the X-Men fight the Avengers because the Avengers know Kang is evil, while the X-Men could be manipulated by their Kang into believing that it's really the Avengers that are evil because of what Doctor Strange did with the Darkhold in Multiverse of Madness.

    I found 3 big mistakes in the movie. Assuming that the timeline continuity of Deadpool movies series is the same of Logan (2017):
    1st mistake: Deadpool is looking for a Wolverine to serve as a replacement as an anchor being, and he can perfectly go for the Wolverine of his present (2024, because 6 years have passed since the events of Deadpool 2 which takes place during 2018), so the search of the anchor being as we saw it, was not necessary. The only thing Deadpool has to do is ensure that Charles Xavier does not have that mental attack that caused all the mutants to die as was known in Logan (2017).
    2nd mistake: when Cassandra enters Wolverine's mind, scenes from Logan (2017) are seen, this means that the worst version of Wolverine lived through a good part of the events of the movie Logan, which means that he should have recognized X-23 when he met her in the Void.
    3rd mistake: At the end of the movie, Wolverine and X-23 are seen with Deadpool's friends. The problem is that there are then 2 versions of Wolverine and X-23 in the Fox Universe.

      In my opinion, correct me if I'm wrong
      1: By the rules of Loki, even changing the past won't change the future, instead create a branch timeline of that timeline, so the events of Logan would've happened otherwise with respect to prior Deadpool. Paradox never said by replacing the anchor, it solves the issue. But by saying that thought, Deadpool thinks that's the viable solution, that's why he tries to find a replacement DESPITE not being the solution of his timeline fixing.
      2. Since there are not much video sources, for this moment, what I can say is it doesn't mean he has to meet her despite he lived through some events of Logan.
      3. They are now living in an alternate reality where there are 2 versions of Wolverine and X-23 in that Fox timeline.
      FYI. I agree that changing some minor things in the past might change the future as if it was already there, for example, Peggy and Steve. If the continuity make sense, then it closes a time loop as if they were already there. However, since we now know that Logan has to die, changing that outcome would make a branch reality. All he can do without branching is anything that would still lead to the events of Logan.

    When it comes to the sling ring, I think the way it’s supposed to work is that the void at the end of time isn’t for any particular universe, but instead that’s where all of time converges to a single point where every timeline leads into the void, and that’s why no matter what timeline you’re in if something gets pruned it all appears in the same void, so that being said the infinity stones from any universe can work in the void since technically it’s still in the same time stream.

    Few pointers. If Deadpool and Wolverine took place in 2024 and Logan, we know take place in 2029 where Logan dies, it’s why Universe 10005 is going out of existence. They might be using the same idea from the comic as when an incursion occurs, at the point of incursion, the whole universe gets wiped out but it’s a cascading effect going both ways, it’s NOT instant, so all of the future still remains, as we saw Captain America in the comic was able to travel so far into the future via the Time Stone. It also implies all of the past still remain as well because we saw Doctor Doom with the help of Molecule Man was able to travel back 25 years into the past.
    So here, Logan dies in 2029, let’s say that’s the Incursion Point, and Deadpool and Wolverine takes place in 2024, Paradox said it’s may take up to 1000 years until the timeline, I guess the whole universe gets wiped out. So technically they can still travel upward to of 1000 years into that future of timeline and everything will still look okay. Same way they can travel all throughout the branching timelines associated with universe 10005, nothing will have look out of place.
    The Anchor Being concept, I think you are right and they intentionally made it very meta, I think it’s also same way how Molecule Man supposedly works during the whole Secret Wars build up. If a Molecule Man dies in one universe, that universe gets wiped out. And there’s a Molecule Man in every universe. So instead of a Molecule Man from comic, we have Anchor Beings.
    So in the Scared Timeline, if they implies Tony being an Anchor Being, with his death in Endgame, nothing in the MCU seem off right. Probably because it’s won’t be a long time until the timeline gets wiped away. Unless we see some sort of Accelerant that gets introduce into the MCU that will speed up that process.
    - So Cassandra Nova, got to be one of my favorite villain in the MCU. The way she speaks, her demeanor, her power. The whole fingers shoving into the brain. She was really well done.
    So the shirtless Wolverine, I mean it’s an MCU movie so we gotta have that for sure. And Shaw Levy did confirm it’s the real Huge JACKman. I mean if you seen all the workout videos Hugh did while filming this movie, it’s legit.
    As for future set ups. I think it’s no question Ryan Deadpool and Hugh Wolverine will have huge parts in future Avenger movies. Until the end of Multiverse Saga, we might not get a new definitive Wolverine, imo, Huge Wolverine never been better in the role than he is now. Super suits and all. I’m more interested in their potential solo outings. Deadpool potential team up with Thor? And Wolverine, we got to see that fight with Hulk for sure. and that’s definitely Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk from 2012 Avengers, Deadpool even did that Loki’s speech calling Hulk a dulling creature before getting smashed.
    I can see B-15 having bigger supporting role in either Deadpool and/or Wolverine future solo/team ups movie, seeking out Deadpool and/or Wolverine help to fight beings that threshing the multiverse, timelines, etc. Throughly enjoyed the movies, can’t wait to see what’s next for these two.

    Saw the movie with my brother today, and i absolutely loved it. Wade and Logans dynamic, the performances, especially Jackman and Reynolds, the humor, the meta jokes, the action, the fact that it actually earns its R rating, everything. I love this movie, and yes, i also loved the cameos. Especially Evans as Johnny Storm and Snipes as Blade, i was not expecting either of them, especially Blade since that wasn't even a Fox film, but i still loved it anyways, i even went "No Freaking Way" in the theater when he came on screen, only i didnt say freaking. Lol.
    What i love about the cameos too apart from the meta humor and the fact they actually play into the story, is that they kindof play into the themes as well. Not only do they represent a different era of marvel. Blade represents the 90s, Johnny and Elektra represent the 2000s, Laura represents the 2010s, Cavill represents a potential future, and Gambit represents what never was.
    But also, they play into the themes of giving franchises a conclusion (which is why, yes, i do agree, Mr. Paradox could be a stand-in for Studio executives, and the anchor thing could have a meta subtext to it) but also being a love letter to the late 90s/2000s Era of Marvel, mainly the Fox films. Which with that, is another reason why they work so freaking well. Also, love the tribute to fox that played during the credits, and to music used in Seinfeld no less, which was icing on the cake. Loved it, loved it, loved it. Also, also, weird seeing how young Hugh was in that archive footage.
    But yeah, i do agree, i wish they explained the Anchor thing better, as that was one of my only problems with the movie, too. However, i believe since this Wolverine and Deadpool became Earth-10005 Anchor beings, i believe this means Logan of Earth-10005 that we knew from X-Men 2000 to Logan may have been merged into this Logan in the film, kindof like what DC was going to do with Keatons Batman in the original ending of the Flash, before the DCEU fell apart. Idk about Laura though, also, kindof wish Gambit, Blade, and Elektra were also at the table in that ending scene but oh well.
    Also, also, sadly no Disney Princess roast scene, but i knew it wouldn't happen (and it probably would not make any sense anyways) though maybe that can be its own thing, like a special presentation or something.
    But yeah, anyways, solid and fun film, plan on seeing it again, very well paced too, definitely deserves a 9.5/10.

    For me this was the first project to do for really a multiversal adventure, where characters quite different from each other and above all forgotten (an excellent metaphor to give a final farewell to the Fox universe) find themselves in the "landfill" place per excellence, the void, a true purgatory of the multiverse. And whoever decides to be bad (Cassandra Nova's side) takes possession of something that doesn't exist and does it only because he failed to do it in his universe or just didn't have the chance to do it (this is clearly Cassandra's characterization, as well as his personal revenge against his brother). Instead, those who decide to rebel, heroes who couldn't or didn't have the chance to save their worlds, strangely thanks to the will of Deadpool and Wolverine, two characters who at the beginning of the movie are destroyed by their own failure, have the chance to show themselves for a last time and demonstrate the heroes they can be, despite being part of a legacy, the Fox one, now ready to disappear. In fact, the whole movie is a story of assert, the one between Deadpool and Wolverine. Deadpool saves his world, his family and makes it clear that unlike the plan Paradox had in mind, universes can coexist, the anchor is not an absolute thing and that even metaphorically becoming part of the sacred timeline it is not an obligation. Wolverine on the other hand, like all the "heroes" in the void, by maturing his own failure helps to save what is still saveable, and in fact in that beautiful phrase said by B-15, which is also right because this is how the TVA should do it , Logan understands that you can't fix the universe, but you can "fix" yourself, and that's what he did, thanks also to a character as antihero and bizarre as Deadpool. Because yes, this movie proves that even antiheroes like Deadpool and underdogs like the Wolverine of this movie can have relevance in this great little multiverse. Honestly, I'm glad I didn't see all the possible cameos, especially regarding the X Men, because otherwise the sense of Secret Wars event would be lost, and above all they would have taken away the focus on the protagonists and the path they take. Several things regarding the TVA and the anchor issue are still to be explained and not to be ignored for subsequent movies, but the proposed adventure and the heart given to the two protagonists really made this movie fun and exciting, and this was certainly an excellent start to really show the potential of characters and curious dynamics in the multiverse thanks to the void. However, as regards the alternative versions of the two protagonists, it was clearly a bizarre and fun game to watch, and given the tone of the movie, it absolutely fits.

If a war world is created in these movies it could be made out of universes with missing anchor beings, as they could be more easily manipulated and forced together. I love the whole anchor being idea because of how meta it is. The TVA seems like this omnipotent organization in-universe but they still have “theories” per se about phenomena like universes dying. They don’t actually know that there’s a plane of reality above them (real world or maybe the She Hulk’s interpretation of the real world) where studio executives cancel franchises and actors retire, so they have to create their own in-universe explanations for these phenomena. Really reminds me of the metanarratives of Undertale and Deltarune, if anyone is familiar with those games.

    There's a possibility when they say six years later. It could have been 6 years later from Deadpools point of view. He traveled to 616 universe in 2018. 6 years later from Deadpools point of view, it could still happen after the events of logan in his universe

    • @AbitofEverything4U
      @AbitofEverything4U  Месяц назад

      Yeah, the timeline is indeed very confusing. I think he was saying he went to the MCU shortly after the post credit scenes in Deadpool 2 and then he destroyed Cable's device soon after. Since DP 2 seems to be in 2018, that's why I think DP&W is in 2024. But it's okay that it happens prior to Logan in 2029, as Deadpool's 4th wall breaking let's him know about movies that came out before his. And Logan's death in 2029 rippled forwards and backwards through time, meaning all of 10005 would eventually die. At least that's my take on it. I agree, it's all pretty confusing as the X-Men timelines are such a mess overall. Great movies, but very messy timeline.

  • @Alejandroigarabide
    @Alejandroigarabide Месяц назад +6

    It seems like DP&W happens after Logan died. Which means either Logan's death has just been retconned to having happened much earlier (say, 2024), or DP&W happens in 2029.
    If DP&W is set in 2029, then it retcons all the DP movies to happen a few years after their real-world release.
    So, we do know Wade visits Earth 616 in 2018, and that DP&W happens 6 years later. The only explanation is that Earth 10005 is 5 years ahead of Earth 616.
    So, Earth 616 would be in 2018 while Earth 10005 would be in 2023. Maybe Jesus was born 5 years prior or that Earth has a different event for its year 1.

      When they are talking Logans death, the graphic shows the death of Logan and then reverberating back through the timeline. The visual accompanied with Paradox explanation led me to believe that the death of Logan leads to the destruction of the ENTIRE timeline, not just the a bookend, but an unraveling of the entire thing.
      This would mean the death of an anchor at any point would result in every point of the timeline beginning to unravel. Maybe the TVA just decided to grab deadpool from that moment in the timeline, as the entire thing is going to go kaput

At least, that's how I interpreted it. It was pretty tricky to follow, tbh.

  • @yopunkpunk

    I kind of wish it got better explained in the movie but here's how I see it. Timelines and universes are the same, each timeline can have branches, creating alternate and parallel timelines/universes. If these alternate/parallel timelines/universe keep branching, they will eventually create a completely new timeline separate from the original. Each timeline and it's branches have an anchor being, if they die, the timeline and the branches connected to it will slowly fade into nothing. If separate timelines get to close to each other, and start branching into each other, they will eventually collide, causing incursions . Another quick note is that I think while Anchor beings are connected to a timeline and it's branches, absolute points are only specific to an individual branch/timeline, explaining Christine Palmer dying being a absolute point in one branch but not another. I think this also could explain why now MCU and the X-Men universes are finally interacting. Since the MCU sacred timeline is now able to expand infinitely thanks to Loki, it's now starting to hit other timelines previously unable to get to as it was isolated by He Who Remains. Anyways, that's just how I interpret it. Also I think this movie is sort of hinting at X-Men vs Avengers. I could see an incursion happening between Deadpools universe and the MCU causing a battle for the two. I think this was setup as currently in the Deadpool universe, all the X-Men are still active and we have a new wolverine there, setting it up to maybe be explored more.

This film shows that caring about every lore detail and complicated multiverse, though important for the world building, it is not the only element that makes a movie or frenchise successful. Deadpool shows that important thing is also having good story and well written characters i.e. "anchor beings". Yeah, the metaphysics in Deadpool movies are always abit unreliable. Cable's device should only allow him to reverse time, yet in DP 2 he jumps to a branched timeline to kill the crappy Deadpool and jumps to (it seems) the real world where he kills Ryan Reynolds. Then in DP&W, he jumps all the way to the 616. None of that makes sense, but Deadpool does as Deadpool pleases, it seems.
      However, once he gets the TVA device, I suspect he's only jumping to branches. Each Wolverine can look really different if the branch in the X-men timeline occurred long before Logan was born, for example. So that could result in very different looking Wolverines. Or at least that's my guess as to how that worked. Anyway, it's all pretty weird when Deadpool is in charge of a movie. lol!

    If we accept that Logan was the “anchor being” of E-10005, and that once he died in Logan, the universe started to disappear (which Paradox is trying to rush), then there would have to be some kind of existential process that prevents Logan from being brought back to life again, and that would include via time travel.
    In this particular case, since Cable traveled from a future where Logan had died, and he traveled to 2018 when Logan should /technically/ still be alive, then perhaps some reality-warping occurred, and even though Logan doesn’t actually die until 2029, because Cable came from a time after his death, Logan was then metaphysically “removed” from this 2018 to prevent any paradoxes from taking place and potentially altering or preventing his death. This, combined with his ability to break the fourth wall, makes Wade aware of the events of Logan in DP2 and D&W, and thus Logan is treated as dead, even if he should be alive strictly by timeline rules.
    By this logic, when Wade and our new Logan destroy the time-ripper and wind up re-anchoring earth-10005, this makes it so there’s still only one Logan existing in the present, and we don’t have to deal with multiple Wolverines running around at the same time!
    (This connects to a larger theory of mine about how the timeline of the multiverse is all based on the timeline of our real-world reality and how these fictional realities get released in different orders, but that’s a much larger discussion!)

    I think with the Kevin-looking device that maybe it’s Deadpool doing what She-Hulk did in the last episode of that show, and going back to re write what has happened in order to suit him. I.e., Johnny didn’t originally say all those things but Deadpool changed it so he was right. This could be why it is word for word exactly what Deadpool said to Cassandra, and not that Deadpool has just a really very good memory haha

    My small little theory is that reality (almost like a meta physical being) knows that wolverine is the anchor being as soon as he is born. And my theory is that that is the moment that 10005 starts to decay and slowly die. Because even though wolverine does live for a very long time, he is still mortal, and will eventually die. And i remember that paradox said in the movie that normally it does it take a thousand years for a world to officially die. I personally dont believe that a world starts to die when the anchor being dies, but actually when theyre initially born, and the clock has started ticking

    I think the anchor being is them trying to comprehend the phenomenon of the franchise falling apart after a character or actor leaves from the point of view of a character in that universe, very Grant Morrison Animal Man style metaphysical stuff

    • @AbitofEverything4U

      I agree...I do think it was mostly metaphorical and that it also nicely tied in with Deadpool and Wolverine re-writing the universe at the end!

    It’s definitely ruffalo’s hulk but it’s not ruffalo himself, also isn’t it cool that cavillrine is the only non jackman wolverine variant, only time we’ve seen this so far is in Loki with the Lokis and spiderman but that’s more meta-textual, I’d say binary but she has to be named Carol Danvers for it work the same way

    • @AbitofEverything4U
      @AbitofEverything4U  Месяц назад

      Yeah, it sure seemed like Ruffalo's hulk, which is cool. And I do love that all the variants were Hugh, other than Henry. My guess is that particular timeline branched early enough that it resulted in a very different looking Wolverine. Such an awesome movie!

  • @orangebiker4926

    I think the main Wolverine’s universe is a branch on the animated X-Men “tree”, which would explain why his suit is comic accurate. Plus, the X-Men that he mentioned, along with Professor X, are members of the team in the show. As for how this universe works in relation to the “main” animated X-Men universe, it’s only mentioned throughout the film that he failed his world, not that he destroyed it, so it doesn’t affect the “main” universe in any major way. Plus, it probably means that the universe that Deadpool found that Wolverine in is actually his home universe anyway, hence why the bartender told Wolverine that he wasn’t welcome anywhere. As for what Wolverine leaving his home universe means, it shouldn’t cause the entire tree to start withering away since he doesn’t seem to be the anchor being/a major character in the animated series anyway. Though whether it might cause an incursion or not, we might have to wait and see how they’ll handle it in X-Men ‘97.

      P.S., I recently found this video which shows Logan as a movie playing in Deadpool’s universe. ruclips.net/video/Z5ezsReZcxU/видео.html If this is canon, this could explain how Deadpool has that toy portraying Logan’s death. Maybe X-Men Origins: Wolverine is also a movie that exists in this universe, hence why Deadpool also has a toy version of his Weapon XI variant from the film. Maybe the entire Wolverine trilogy is actually a film franchise in Deadpool’s universe, since all of those films take place in alternate universes according to the Marvel wiki, and the X-Men of Deadpool’s universe are shown to have become popular by the time of Dark Phoenix, so it would work. This is actually kinda funny when you realize that Deadpool is aware of all this since he knows he is in a film franchise to begin with.

    • @AbitofEverything4U
      @AbitofEverything4U  Месяц назад

      Cool theory about there being a tie with X-Men '97. I'd be down for that. As for Wolverine creating an incursion, my guess is that since all of the branches are connected to the main 10005 branch, that it won't cause an incursion for him to now be in Deadpool's branch. It's kinda like how in the What If episodes they can jump between branches without issue. Oh, and that video was really funny. The idea of Logan playing in Wade's universe is very meta and sooooo Deadpool!

    Regarding the anchor being, it seems like a massive self-sacrifice can restore the universe and set a new anchor being, now being Deadpool. So even if Tony is the MCU's anchor being, we may get a new anchor being through the narrative.

    You mentioned around 18:00 that Deadpool’s universe looks like an actual universe that’s not branched off of Lokis tree, but maybe that’s not because it is a separate universe from the 616 tree, which if you look at my comment on your recent Deadpool and Wolverine video, but because it’s all a part of the same Multiverse just medium sized branches branching off of the sacred timeline and then more little branches branching off of these different universes. And the reason why the screens look like the old ways of how a timeline looks paradox and his team wants to go back to the old ways of the TVA, so they designed these screens and scopes to look like how things were when in reality the screens would look like Loki’s tree

    • @erik_hirsch
      @erik_hirsch Месяц назад +1

      Also, another words with paradox not liking how the TV runs things after Loki season two, that’s a metaphor for people that grew up in like the 50s or 60s not liking how society is so they can decorate their own house on how things used to be. So again that’s why the screens look like the old way they used to handle the sacred timeline.

But for all the reason I mention in this video, as well as the "History of the Multiverse" video that I tagged in your earlier comment, I really think Marvel is indicating a multiple tree scenario. Hopefully the Fantastic Four movie will answer all our questions. Thanks again for the awesome feedback on the vid. Really appreciate you taking the time to share it!

    • @AbitofEverything4U
      @AbitofEverything4U  Месяц назад +1

      Yeah, the only thing I can guess is that it's not an issue regarding incursions since the Wolverine in the movie can from a branched timeline off of 10005. We learn in What If and in Endgame that you can travel between branches and it doesn't cause an incursion. However, going to an alternate universe (such as 838) does cause incursions. So that's my guess on what Wolverine can come to deadpool's timeline. Hope we get some definitive answers on it at some point!

    "A character of such importance that once dies your universe goes with it" = the only character your fans care about
    Wanna know a funny possible future twist?
    Deadpool could reveal that Iron Man WAS the anchor of 616
    I mean he did say that naturally universe's take thousands of years to die post anchor being death
    So what if the MCU is just not seeing its effects?
    This is also a huge meta reference to "iron man and captain America are gone so now no one cares about the MCU"

    I feel an anchor being would make more sense if it’s not exclusively one person. Like Logan died after Charles and the entire X-Men already passed, so it makes sense for the timeline to be doomed once its out of essential superheroes, but then again Laura was going to carry on their will. On top of that, it would add to Wades disappointment in himself to not be considered important enough to secure his timelines lifespan

    • @AbitofEverything4U
      @AbitofEverything4U  11 дней назад +1

      Very good points! It is surprising that Laura didn’t become the new anchor being. I think we were all expecting a sequel movie to Logan with her being the main star. Imo anchor beings aren’t necessarily the only beings in a said universe to hold the key to it’s entire existence. They rather portray a specific moment in time where if they don’t do a series of specific and impactful actions in a given time, a nexus event occurs, therefore labelling them as “anchors” that stop the nexus event from happening.
    I.e. Strange in Infinity War going through countless iterations to find the one where Iron Man (the anchor) saves the world. In this example, maybe Thanos is the anchor being in the 14M other iterations since he’s supposed to win those 14M other times.
    That being said, in D&W, Paradox knows that the absence of anchor beings in universes are nothing but catalysts for nexus events, but he uses the concept of anchors to brainwash Wade into thinking that nothing can save his universe. All this because Paradox might have already seen Deadpool in the future trying to save a Wolverine (an anchor) which would counter his plan to erase branches with the Time Ripper (a nexus event).
    A simple way to put my theory is that every nexus event has its anchor being holding it back, meaning there can be countless different anchor beings at different times in a same universe/timeline.
    Sorry for the long theory 😅

      @AbitofEverything4U  Месяц назад +1

      Cool theory! Yeah, I really do hope that they flesh out the concept of anchor beings in future MCU entries. I think having 2 Logans or Lauras isn't a problem. An incursion will only happen if something changes too drastically and the boundaries erodes. Think about bubbles, they touch yes but only with enough force will they merge to form a new bubble. And hey the TVA is keeping an eye anyway so if they think it's okay then it's perfectly fine. It's just a case of having doppelgangers. Logan and Laura might even get a tempad to get out of there when things are close to destabilizing if it ever comes to it.
